His pitch? A USB drive full of demonic malware from the sealed Vaults of Moravec. The result is the Death of Innocence—a catastrophic scrap-code virus that kills millions in minutes, corrupts entire Titan legions, and plunges Mars into an apocalyptic civil war. Bricky, DK, and special guest Kirioth dive into the Schism of Mars, navigating through the madness of the Kaban Machine’s rampage, the Alpha Legion's sneaky sabotage, and Koriel Zeth’s decision to drown her own forge in lava rather than hand it over to the traitors.Support the show

Welcome everyone to another episode of the Adeptist Ridiculous podcast.
My name is D.K. Diamantis and I am thrilled to be doing something other than control
resident for a change.
Bricky and Kerry off, say hello.
Uh, hello.
Are you thrilled to not be doing control resident?
Because I'm not, because it's really good.
My hands are shaking a little bit like I'm going through some sort of withdrawal, but I think
otherwise I'm pretty okay about it.
I almost says something along the lines of like, control resonance.
What if the saddest and wettest man?
you know is doing
doing odd jobs and that's
a pretty good way to put it. Yeah,
yeah, satisfying combat.
Also, speaking of
satisfying, Kerioth
actually, I don't know.
Kiroth, are you
satisfying?
Krioth, can you satisfy me?
He really set him up
to slam that down. What an alley-
you.
Look, I'm not
going to sit here and lie to you.
You know, I mean,
uh,
uh,
I,
fuck man,
I don't know.
Custodies are out.
I thought,
I thought there's going to be some sort of segue into the, like,
there's the,
the custodian detachments.
There's 13 of them,
which I think is almost as many,
if not more than the number of kits they have.
Uh,
there's new all locks for Necrimunda that have been shown off.
It's been quite a busy day, really.
It is.
And, uh,
the custodians.
are looking very cool.
You know, it feels great to be rewarded
for buying miniatures that you think just look awesome
and then being able to use all of them.
It's actually kind of crazy
that we're already getting the codex pre-order.
I thought we would be like a month out.
I don't know if maybe Games Workshop
was trying to like speed run all people's codexes
the first year and then kind of like taper it after.
Still would prefer an index, but whatever.
Hell yeah.
I'm just trying to get away from,
the discourse around the cost of the space marine
like special collector's edition codex
so they moved it up a little bit
because could lord there was a lot of chat
about how much money that cost when that was on sale
was it last week week before
how much is the special edition
space marine codex
well I can't remember how much it was dollars but it was
250 pounds
so wow that's like 300
300,
350 or something like that?
That's wild.
Does it come with a gold-plated cover?
Like,
what?
Now,
funnly you mentioned that.
It has,
it has like medallions in it
that you can swap out
in the front cover of different chapters.
In fact,
I've gone to the store
and I'm actually switching it over
to America to see how much.
$420.
Wow,
that's so,
maybe my brain was doing euros
instead of pounds.
Holy!
It's a lot.
It's also not sold out.
Duh.
It's not sold out for the first time.
It's not.
It's not sold out.
It looks like a good chunk of people looked at that and went, how about no, actually?
Also, if you're in Australia, that's a mere 700 of your Australian dollars for you.
So that, good look with that.
Now, don't get me wrong, that is coolest shit.
Like, all the medallions and stuff, it does look phenomenal.
But for that's a, for that, I don't know, man.
Yeah.
Even by the like Games Workshop, Warhammer Standard, that is a truly vast amount of money.
And we need to pull one out for, uh, for New Zealand because they always get the worst end of things price wise.
But, uh, I think this might be the first time they've ever had a book cost 826 New Zealand dollars.
Oh my God.
Oh.
That's.
Oh.
You know, as a professional shill myself, whenever I bring in a new product or something,
you tend to like price it on the high end because you want to see what people are willing to deal with, right, a little bit.
And since this is the first major collector's edition or whatever, I'm wondering if they're like, all right, make it fucking stupid and see.
Let's take a page out of the match of the gathering company.
And let's see if we can we can just do it anyway for like scalpers and collectors.
And even the scalpers seem to be like, I can't do that.
Nah, I didn't.
Like, hey, if those medallions were all cast in solid 24-carat gold, that'd be a good price.
But, um.
The melt it all down.
You know, it's also one of those shit things that Shia does mention were like, you know, by the time you get this, like, the Codex rules will be different.
they will be balanced in the balance patch.
Oh, yeah.
All right.
Speaking of heresy, let's chill for a second.
Let's get rolling on to this stuff.
Ah, yeah.
If you thought the stuff we just talked about was too expensive,
guess what isn't too expensive?
Patreon.com slash adeptist ridiculous.
We can get access to the Discord.
Blupers if they happen, $15 tier,
get you all of our posters in just the most immaculate digital form ever.
You should check it out.
Patreon.com slash
Adeptus Ridiculous. Bricky, tell them about the merch.
Yeah, we got merch and stuff. There are things you can buy and stuff you can do and, you know, all that good stuff.
You can check out clothes and dice and all those neat things. Also, make sure to grab the funny little Mario Kart poster.
This is the last week it will be up before it goes down because, you know, that's the runtime it's been.
And then we're going to give money to the artist and stuff. So one last week,
Check it out. It's awesome and very goofy and a lot of fun.
So that's all down at Orkidate down in the description.
That is a cool poster though.
Buy the merch.
And by buy the merch, I mean, tell me to please just goddamn ask.
Yeah, Kiriel, just asking for the merge. What are you doing?
God.
I've got to do that again. Look, it's not my fault. I don't have attention span.
Mine was taken and given to someone else, apparently.
That's just how it is.
I've got enough to read a script, though.
That's something.
And we can do that right now.
That is absolutely...
Wow, the segue, all segways.
Let's go.
Let's go, Kyria.
Man, that's not promising for the rest of this episode, is it?
Jesus.
I'm just going to start reading the quote.
Even as the embers of the Great Crusade called on the bloody plains of Isfan 5,
Mars would rise to war.
Not to throw down the time.
tyrant emperor, nor to enthrone the upstart warmaster, but to rend and tear it its own soul.
The children of the red planet fought either to free it from the chains of reason, or to throw off
once and for all the cloak of mysticism, caring not at all for who might rule the Imperium
when the guns fell silent. It's quite a good quote, to be fair.
Yeah, that's a good one. That is a good one. I like that one.
Funnily enough, we are going to be talking about the schism of Mars, and I will tell you right now that
each of the subheadings in this script, they're all in binary.
And I'm not reading the actual binary out because we will be here all goddamn day.
And I've also just realized that all the subheadings are binary.
And I forgot to ask Parsham to put the translation in.
So really, this effectively is going to be meaningless for me to see and unhelpful for you.
So there's the first lot of binary.
enjoy, enjoy working out what that is.
You're not allowed to use any sort of translator and I'll see you in two hours.
Oh, all right.
We're off to a grand old start here today, ladies and gentlemen.
There we go.
Introduction.
Wow.
That's, that's a lot of binary for introduction.
It's an insane amount for intro.
Yeah, it's really inefficient.
I've got to be honest.
The Mechanicum slash Mechanicus are all about the binary chant.
and that's what they're doing, come on.
Just talk normal.
What is...
So, many of the actions taken by Horace during the prelude to the heresy
were done as a direct means to manipulate the biggest fighting force that he would have to deal with,
his brothers and his father.
But a war effort is only as strong as the arsenal at hand,
and the only way to have a firm arsenal is to ensure that, wow,
is to ensure the continued output of the factories that serve the Imperium.
shout out to possum's foam arsenal apparently long suspicious to outsiders sorry why'd I phrase it like that I don't know the the mechanicum have always been a bit odd about the whole imperial of manned thing and their relatively recent alliance with the imperium was sort of cracking at the seams for many of the more hard-lined members this was a great benefit to horace who needed the factories on his side and fast and a simple tempting offer would result not
not only in a catastrophic collapse in Mechanicum society,
but would also turn the planet of Mars itself into a war zone
all the way to the very end of the heresy itself.
So today we're going to go over the schism of Mars.
We're not going to go over subsequent events to reclaim the planet after the complete fall,
as that would be another episode entirely.
And much like the other heresy episodes,
this one is going to be less on the novels, like Mechanicum,
and more on the raw info in the tabletop books,
like the Campaigns of the Age of Darkness book on the Martian Civil War,
the Skittari Journal Tactica, and the Legion's Imperialist book on the Dark Mechanicum.
And I've got the next section of binary.
You need to read this one out together.
No, don't do that.
Oh, 0101.0.0.
No, I'm not going to, we're not doing that.
I wasn't that committed to the bit.
I was really hoping that you would follow through on that one,
purely so that I could try and bully you into doing literally all the others.
Ain't no way, brother. Ain't no way. You've head me off at the past. One thing that's forgotten when it comes to the Mechanicum on Mars is the fact that it's its own thing. That sounds very broad, but considering so much of an imperial focus law has in general, it's easy to forget that the Mechanicum have their own autonomy and aren't just a faction that shows up at the behest of terror. During the Crusade, the Emperor experienced strain when it came to holding on to the various worlds of humanity, and the Mechanicum were no
differing. In many cases, the various forge worlds and Mechanic and members only shared a common
desire for technological advancement and very little else. In fact, during this time in history,
even the various forge complexes on a singular world would have their own independent goals,
and would actively be at odds with one another. The Imperium provided them something else that
they could focus on, as opposed to being at each other's throats, and that would result in the
forcing of alliances between Mechanicum rivals, regardless of how bitter they were.
To a point, anyway.
As Warmaster, Horace had to have a damn good relationship with the Mechanicum if he was to get
the job done, and the only real way to do that is to get the favour of the Fabricator General.
At this stage in the game, the person who held this title was Kelbor Hal.
Kelbor was present on Mars when the Emperor of Mankind set foot on the surface for the first time,
and even though all those around him believed he was the living and
analog of the Omnisire, Kelbor was not very impressed. In fact, he believed that he was a false
prophet and kept a consistent and deep fear that the emperor would eventually strip away all
the autonomy of Mars. If I'm not mistaken, Kelbor House still around, right? I think so. Isn't he
still a dark, like a dark Mechanicus Mechanicum sort of deal potentially? He sort of vanished rather than
got oft, right?
Yeah, like when I say around, yeah, he's never dead on screen and therefore can be brought back at any point in time, right?
Yeah, he sort of just isn't, isn't mentioned anymore, kind of.
The best way to do it, really.
Bring him back whenever you like.
So even though his trust in the emperor was thin, Calibor Hall would keep a very different public face
and would eventually fall all the way to the top of the mechanic and pecking order.
So when it came to Horace trying to stay in the good graces of the Mechanicum,
Kelbor Hal made this a bit tricky.
But, like with most alliances on Mars, a tenuous one was established, and things were okay.
As the Great Crusade got closer to its conclusion,
Horace will ask for more and more loyalty from Mars armies,
until the point where it was almost fully absolute.
As Horace would begin to set up the final dominoes in the Isfans system,
he knew that the fealty of his brothers, who fell to chaos,
would be imperative when it came to the heresy,
but he also knew that it would be virtually impossible
without armaments and supplies from the Mechanicum.
He also knew exactly how to swing them over to his side
and decided to send a representative
who would light a spark that would cause Mars to burn.
So Magister Lichtenics regulars,
such a mouth,
sure.
He would sort of bring Kelbor Hal a final demand,
turn against the Imperium and stand side by side with the war master.
To sweeten the deal, this turn to his side came with a bounty of promises.
Some of these promises would be physical gifts,
like the first dibs on STCs that have been found at the furthest reaches of the crusade,
while others would be future-based ones, like,
oh yeah, I'll be sure that all research prohibitions are removed.
which by the same is a terrible idea.
The chains by the ridiculous ball of ethics, ugh.
I mean, for the admi, yeah, that's a pretty sweet deal.
You take that deal.
The greatest gift that would be given directly to Kelbor howl by Regulus immediately in exchange for fealty.
Regulus would present him the means to unlock the vaults of Moravec,
which had been sealed for 200 years.
I've got an actual quote for you here, D.K.
Wow.
The only uncertainty left for Mars as Kelbor how greedily delved into the trove of forbidden Arcana proffered to him
was how far into the depths of nightmare the red planet would descend.
Bum, bum, bum, too many gifts.
Not ominous at all.
Too many gifts.
Not ominous at all.
Insert more binary.
Yep.
You got to throw the binary in there.
Deep in the caverns under Olympus mons, the vaults would be opened and it was clear from the drop that it wasn't just technology that was sealed down there.
Ancient packs with the warp were manifest in the artifacts therein, and they whispered to the fabricator general.
They promised power and freedom to him, but he didn't have to agree, as the corruption had already begun.
From the moment the vault was opened, this slow corruption would seep in the form of a disastrous scrap code that was incoherent to most, but to the mechanicum, it was a crawling death.
Kelball Hal would embrace it openly and proudly, because of course he would.
Ah, yeah, because why not? Yep.
As Hal would begin to calculate and seize the prizes in this vault, his subordinates would begin to work.
In order to accomplish the goals that Horace had in mind, an entire rocking of the mechanics.
Mechanicum society had to occur almost immediately. And if there's one thing that's set in stone,
it's the social structure of the Mechanicum. Persuasion had to be done quickly, and there could be
no high-ranked Archmajorie that stood in his way. He would, unsurprisingly, get a bunch of
people on his side pretty rapidly, since the prospect of new tech and secrets is a sure-fire way
to get some very curious scientific minds on your side. But not everyone was on his team. To those he
thought would be potentially swayed, he would send out his delegate, Archimandrite orator
Melgator, but for those that were into hard-blind, he would set up spies and assassins in order
to undermine any potential defences and assure that his armies could overwhelm them when the
time came.
Classic.
Due to the acts of sabotage and coercion, tensions were beginning to flare significantly on the
planet, thanks to the very careful and calculated efforts of Melkator, and it seemed like
there were going to be a lot more on the side of Kelbor Hal than initially expected,
which means that this is a perfect time for Lucas Crom to abruptly fuck around with some
nonsense.
Oh, boy.
I said, join evil.
No, we got sick-looking robot spiders.
You son of a bitch, I'm in.
To be fair, they are sick-looking robot spiders.
Like, that is no joke.
Yeah, yeah.
Also, was it ever confirmed that Kelbor, Hal was maybe, perhaps named after the Space Odyssey, rogue AI on the ship, the Hal 9,000?
Maybe.
You know.
How is, like, maybe.
Maybe a reference.
Because GW takes from everything.
But, like, that one, I don't know.
Maybe if his name was like Calbor Hal 8,000, then I'd be like, okay.
Yeah, maybe you're right.
This one's a little tinctier, a bit of a stretch, I think.
Yeah, I might be primed reaching it, yeah.
It might literally be that it's too subtle to be a reference.
And we all know GW and subtle.
True.
True, they do not do subtle teeth.
Yeah.
Crom was a tech priest who really liked to mess around with abominable.
in, oh my God, abominable intelligence, wow, whether people liked it or not, and he would
unleash some among the pallidous wastes on Mars. One of these things was the Scout Titan-sized
caban machine, which single-handedly violated every single anti-AI law on the Imperial books, and it
will go on a chaotic warpath alongside some of the close quarters Murmadan Tech Priests who
reported on its abilities. It also... Is that what it looks like?
Oh boy.
That does.
That does indeed look like some tech heresy all right.
Yep, that looks like an abomination.
Holy shit.
And it's the size of a Titan.
How many guns do you want on this thing?
Yes.
Definitely.
We definitely want more guns.
I mean, it's...
I love that thing.
It almost looks like it's got missiles flying, even though it's just mechadendrites, but with guns on them.
Which also makes you ask where they're...
the bullets come from, to which games workshop responds,
fuck you, get out of my house.
Yeah, the, the, the idea of that, like a Titan-sized thing on treads with all those guns is
terrifying.
And it's just AI, right?
Like, it's just self-controlled.
Oh, boy.
That's, that sucks.
Also, surely someone has made a converted, like, um, kit bash at that thing, right?
Surely, surely.
Someone's got to have done.
I mean, I've seen plenty of knights that have had like, like, rhino chassis or,
or kind of tank chassis as the, as the replacement for the legs.
So someone must have, maybe not to the full, maybe not like war hound sized,
but someone's got to have done something really close to that.
I also love the idea of the Mechanicum, like, Crom being like,
Okay, I've got this insane experimental new weapon.
It's basically the upper half of a night with more guns and we put it on tank tracks.
That's what we've done.
And it's really angry.
It's kind of, it does look both experimental and kind of basic AF.
Like, I don't know how else to describe it.
Oh, man, somebody did.
Oh, that's so fucking rad.
Yeah, that proves.
Absolutely. So good.
Now the path of the caban machine would cut all the way through to the southeast of Olympus Mons
and cut directly into the right of the Ulysses Fossi, which is full of reactors and knights from house to Rannis.
The caban machine wanted to lunge for the reactors, but these pesky knights were standing in its way,
so it decided to do the reasonable thing in this situation.
Fucking attack them all out.
the knights, not really expecting a big-ass monster
and a bunch of masked tech priests attacking them
would obviously fight back
whilst also trying to figure out what the hell was happening and why.
Before the knights could figure it out,
the caban machine would successfully rupture one of the reactors
destroying everything,
except, you know, the knights themselves,
who watched through the explosion as that thing escaped
and vanished into the waste.
Now, obviously, the knights of House Tyrannis
would be a bit confused, and they would not only report the incident, but immediately start
throwing around accusations. The thing was huge and robotic, and it had to have been someone's
fault, and duels would break out between various nighthouses, and this would boil over into
actual conflicts between various forges and houses and all that jazz. It was chaos, and more
importantly, everyone was distracted by it.
Well, yeah. Shocking.
that they would everyone be distracted by it.
I mean, that's,
that thing's terrifying.
Yeah.
So it's a good distraction technique.
Not even carnifex exists.
Jesus Christ.
The thing rocks.
No,
just,
the thing just rocks.
I'm sorry,
but like,
like,
that thing is so fucking cool.
If they actually do a dark mechanic confection at some point,
I,
I would love this to be like their Lord of War or some.
Oh, yeah, that has to be like the centerpiece, right?
Something like that.
I mean, it could be Kelbor Howl,
because Kelbar Hal probably now looks like a fabricator general
where he's just like 95% of a room.
But, you know.
He is the room.
You've got the room, sir.
No, I am the room.
Command Machine never dies on screen.
So, there's a chance.
There's a small chance.
The scrap code.
that lurched from the vaults of Moravec were spreading fast,
and Kelbor Howell had already begun to change the output of the forges
to produce twisted weapons similar to those in the vaults.
The fumes, produced by the manufacturers,
would leak more poison than usual,
to the point where there was a massive storm emanating from the surface.
The corruption would spread from data tether to data tether,
corrupting convoys and installations.
Repositories were undone and engrams fully corrupted,
while communications were clogged with junk data
that sent server tools into rampages.
Each forge feigned that was touched by the scrap code
would immediately suffer hundreds of acts of sabotage.
Infrastructure was torn apart and reactors would be sent into meltdown
while the guns of Mars were turned upon themselves.
In minutes, the death toll would reach into the millions.
Oh boy.
All right.
That sucks.
Yeah.
Within moments.
See, there they go.
Within moments, the death toll is in the millions.
Again, they love those numbers.
Also, I kind of love the more poison than usual.
It's like, oh, well, a little poison.
We're used to that, but this is out of hand.
I mean, I guess, yeah, I mean, this case it works because computer virus and stuff.
But even so, it's just funny to hear, you know.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Well, this event would become known as the death of innocence.
Yikes.
Which is poetic, but I wonder how much innocence was really present.
on Martin the first place. Poetic, perhaps not accurate for my money, but you know,
though it sounds a bit unpredictable and violent, the code was not fully indiscriminate.
It would obviously ravage those who are loyal to the emperor, but it would also corrupt
those who pledged to stand with Kelb or Hal. But for those, it would impact them in a
much different manner. The code would seemingly enhance them as opposed to taking them out,
that or it would just focus their madness.
It's not truly clear what the code did to them,
but all that was known is that a truly dark mechanicum was becoming fully established.
Oh, I see.
Say that again, etc.
Yeah, yeah.
What are we?
You know, we won't be able to cover every single conflict that occurred separately around the planet,
so we're going to focus on one of the most well-known ones in Magma City.
Not all of Mars would fall.
The areas directly bordering Olympus Mons were shockingly resilient.
The four fanes of Coriol Zeth, also known as the Mistress of Magma City,
Zagrius Kane, and I hate this, isn't it?
Epluvian maximal had been almost completely spared.
I'm going to go in ahead and say that that's fine,
and anyone who says I pronounced incorrectly, I don't even care for this one.
It's got, it's that or nothing.
Yeah, it's got to be apluvian.
And yeah, I would have pronounced it exactly the same, so you're fine.
Each of them had shared in technologies developed by Zeth,
which resulted in the scrap code to be slowed enough for the links to be severed.
It wasn't perfect, though, as some madness had made its way to these veins,
and it would need to be quelled.
On the Mechanica McQuilent of a Zoom call,
all three fains would converse and reach an agreement.
This code was some sort of precursor to something.
They had no idea what the hell it was, but something of this specific magnitude is generally an indicator that something bad was coming in its wake.
They would dispatch envoys in order to band together with other survivors and stand as one against what was to come.
Zeth was a particularly big force in this effort, which meant that she needed to be spoken to by Kelbors orator.
But Zeth was a bit of a difficult person to speak to, mostly because she didn't believe in the machine got.
Oh.
Oh.
That's, uh, that's, uh, okay.
Also, shit.
Zeth looks great.
Holy shit.
Yeah, that's quality.
Wow.
That's awesome.
Oh, that's, that, um, me rubbing my big belly full of John Blanche original artwork.
Hmm.
What a way to put it.
What?
Slaps it three times.
Mm.
John Blanche artwork.
That does the little sick as fuck.
Oh, man
I was just going to say,
wow, that looks phenomenal, bricky.
Rubbing my belly.
Maybe I do got to build that death card army.
I'm assuming Zest does not have a mini, obviously.
She does not, unfortunately.
That is the biggest shame ever.
You got to fix that, G-dub.
I don't care if she's canonically dead.
You got to fix that.
Plenty of canonically dead things have come back alive.
Yep.
True.
True.
Though we're not going to talk about the book Mechanicus here too much today,
Coriol Zeth's non-belief is an interesting thing to discuss for a moment.
Also, Mechanicus, Mechanicum, especially on the edge of disaster.
Look, look, I corrected.
I know, I know, but also like fuck them, you know.
I get it, but also like fuck them.
Okay.
What are you going to say next?
This is 40K?
You're crazy.
You fucking larping.
Crazy as.
Hey, no,
we're taking LARPing back.
Remember?
We're taking that back.
Oh, right, right, right.
I'll have, you know,
Tourist.
A LAR.
Exactly.
A poser.
Poser.
It's a shame we started using LARPA and stopped using tourist.
See, but I love being a tourist, man.
Being a tourist is like getting to enjoy all kinds of different things just enough before someone with like a bed made of the thing says you don't like this enough.
Like I don't know.
That's perfect.
It's great, man.
Fine.
We'll go back to poser.
Good.
I mean, really, Poseer is the best word for all right.
It is.
It is.
It really is.
I don't understand why.
But something about tourist is like it almost like just the way people spit it with such venom.
It sounds almost like a swear word.
Like tourist.
Yeah, but it's only ever...
Like those double T's?
It's only ever used by like weird grifty types, though.
I only like tourists because I played Armored Corps and Cinder Carla calls you a tourist,
but like in like just a whatever way, because 621 is too busy bombing an orphanage.
Fair enough.
So in the book, Cori Walseth is asked if she believes in the machine god by Dalia Citherea,
who worked in the administratum as a transcriber.
Zeth would reach into her workbench and pull out a switch
and ask Dalia to describe it to her.
Daly would tell her that it was a switch,
two metal contacts that make a circuit.
Zeth would ask her to explain it deeper
and she'd go into the flow of electricity
before Zeth would cut her off.
And I've got a quote for you here, Bricky.
The switch is about the simplest piece of technology imaginable.
Yet the dogmatic fools who perpetuate this myth of the mission.
sheen god would have us believe that a portion of divine mechanical will exists within it they tell us that only by appeasing some invisible entity whose existence cannot be proven but must be taken on faith will this switch work damn am i reading the perturabo novel again she she really do be hitting us with like an r atheism moment right here yeah she really do be what is there some kind of switch to what oh my god
my wife's boyfriend
Bobby a Switch 2
I'm so excited
And now I don't believe
in God
Yeah
Holy shit
Lois the Switch 2
Fuck God
Anyway
Wow is it so funny
Oh my crap
Louis the Switches
Fuck God
What a string of words
Wow
Sometimes
I think
I just a brand new sentence
I don't think anyone said that sentence, yeah.
I fully agree.
Put that on a shirt and sell it.
God,
damn.
Zeth would go on about how some of the other members of the Mechanican would believe that the Emperor was the Omnisire.
Others would say that the Omnisciar was the Dragon.
And some think one can actually become the Omnisire,
but she denies all of this.
She believed the priesthood is an organization that's learned in the ways of technology,
but its blind adherence to dogma is limiting.
She believes that the future of the Mechanicum lies in the understanding of tech
and the only way to accomplish this is with innovation
while also acknowledging that this is not necessarily
the best belief to have in the current climate,
which is, you know, entirely fair.
Also, most sane person on Mars potentially, think God's close.
Yeah, I got to be honest, she's actually just acting normal.
Like the whole...
Not a high bar on Mars, though, right?
No, I actually think it's extremely high bar on Mars as to act normal.
Oh, well, yeah, no, yeah.
There was an importance to her beliefs, though, and in the final years of the Great Crusade,
her research would become much more esoteric, and the fixation on newfound knowledge would result
in the creation of her great work known as the Akashik reader.
It was derived from architect stolen from terror years ago, hell yeah, and this project
was fairly monumental.
it bluntly, it was potentially a means in which you could focus the energy within the warp
in order to pull and brace yourselves for the last part of this sentence, all lost
knowledge from it. Yeah? All? You say all lost? Oh, oh, well. Every single bit of lost
knowledge just come flooding in, you've got it right there. I mean, as goals go, it's lofty,
but you've got to admire the sort of imagination there.
Wow.
There are a great many minds and memories lost from real space
and being able to use a filtration system
to distill raw information from the Sea of Souls
could effectively bring back technology lost for centuries.
Of course, it would need a lot of harmonic nonsense
from the Golden Throne itself,
but the potential of this technology was impossibly important
and it could not fall into hands that were not her own.
despite her beliefs, she would still believe in the union between the Mechanicum and the Imperium,
and that's far more important for this moment.
Melgisor would speak to Zeth cautiously and ask her curiously how her forge was able to withstand
the whole scrap code thing.
Zeth didn't really suspect anything from the Fabricator General at this point,
but she wasn't a particularly big fan of him anyway,
so she would find the questions posed by the Legator to be obnoxious,
especially when he kept prying.
Melgatoul would then tell her that this scrap.
Rap code attack was imperial in nature, and that this was proof that Kelball-Haw's suspicions on
the Emperor were legitimate, so the only thing they could do now was to fight against the
Imperium. Believe it or not, Zeth really didn't care about this very much and found the actions
of Melgator to be awfully telling. She knew what she was about to do was going to be a huge risk
and would likely spurn a direct conflict with the fabricator general, but she would go through with
it anyways. She dismissed Melgator from her forge fain, and within a week,
her theory about a retaliation would be proven to be correct, as he would come back, but not with pleasantries.
No.
You shocked, I can.
The clearly chaos corrupted tech priest showing up, having been told to leave.
From the toxic skies, the Orator's host would descend onto the only direct route to Magma City, complete with phalanxes of tech thralls, mermedon bands surrounded by corrupted.
monstrosities from the vault of Moravec and Skittari. At the front of this procession was not only
Magistor, but also Magister Regulus himself. They would arrive with pomp, ceremony and a demand
from Kelbor Hal himself, surrender to their custody and face trial. They would list accusations,
and each accusation would be followed with a wave of howling scrap code that attempted to rock the
walls of Magma City. Kelball knew that he was not able to convince Zeh to bend the knee, so now he
wanted to rip her city from her grasp.
Now, even though the Forge City had previously stood hard against the scrap code,
it was now being fired undiluted and the gates would begin to shut down and give away.
But as the gates partially opened, they would reveal Zeth herself.
Oh, God, yeah, the diorama for it is very, very cool.
That is very, very cool.
Yeah, that's, God, that's really cool.
I love those spider creatures.
They're so neat.
what are they exactly like what's their name well they're from legions imperialis so they're the the small scale ones
but i i maintain i can't know what they're called i maintain right they've already made them
they've already made them for the small scale game well like the the big scale game but with tiny models
what a terrible way to describe it i feel like if you're going to make those surely they made them
full scale and then shrank them
down. Oh yeah, you must
have. Yeah, yeah.
So they've got, surely they're going
to show up at some point, like actual
big ones, actual proper
chunky ones.
But I don't know whether a lot of that is desperation
because they look really cool and I want them.
But I don't want tiny ones of them.
Gosh, what a cool
diorama though. Holy shit.
So good.
So Zeth would march
out and she would respond to their
demands with scorn. She would reject Kelbor Hal's authority and furthermore reject his betrayal of
the Emperor. Melgator was pissed and would order his troops to move in immediately since he was acting
on Kelbo's authority. Too fast, actually, and Regulus would realize how bad this mistake was first,
as he would see what was on the other side of the gates before anyone else. The gates would
fully open at last, revealing the Knights of Tyrannis. They swore themselves to Magma City as a
defensive bastion and despite regular summoning another wave of scrap code, the knights wouldn't shift.
They prepared themselves with their system shut off to incoming code and they would sound their
warhorns in scorn. The traitor hosts would turn and flee due to being woefully outnumbered
by the sheer might of the knights even if they were not currently acting. But as these forces would
flee, the hosts of the Dark Mechanicum were actively enacting Kelbor's fury and many forges had
already fallen. All Zeth
could do was prepare for what she
presumed would be a last
stand. You know, Kelmore
Howe really kind of
ate this whole situation, you know?
And left no crumbs.
No crumbs.
Like they, I mean,
you know, we talk about Horace's
stuff and his difficulties
handling the heresy and things like that.
And obviously Calibor Howe didn't win.
But like,
things were moving well.
Well, yeah, but the initial stage, going pretty well, arguably better than Horace's initial stage went.
I would say, quite the margin at this point.
Yeah, I'd say like quite a bit more.
Mm-hmm.
Given that a lot of the problem is being caused by someone who actively doesn't believe in anything other than the power of science.
I mean, not that many friends for Zeth.
so to still be holding out
and being one of the few who was
pretty good.
I guess I admire that doesn't have too many allies
yeah.
Damn, them atheists is doing really well.
Now, in case you may have forgotten,
Mars is pretty close to terror
and even though the death of innocence
and the start of the schism was chaotic
on the surface of the red planet,
this event for those on terror
would begin with silence.
horrific silence. The scrap code would stretch out from Mars throughout the solar system by
bouncing between mechanic and relays, and eventually the silence would be broken. The first evidence
of something being terribly wrong would start on Venus, as the climate control stations on the
planet would inexplicably collapse, and outposts would literally fall from the sky, killing thousands.
Oh, that's bad. That's really bad. What a way to go. Jesus. This disaster would be followed by a
symphony of distress calls erupting across Sol, resulting in the violence and destruction stretching
all the way to the Cupert belt. All the while, Mars was completely off air, and this silence
offended Rogaldorn. He would order all data links to Mars be destroyed immediately. Imperial
Fist destroyers would raise data hubs and kill all the tech priests inside and do everything in their
power to prevent any of this unknown data from getting anywhere near the throne. Dawn knew what this was,
but there weren't many men to send.
Everyone was still technically on their way to,
or dealing with Isfam 5 directly.
Fortunately, he did still have some men to send.
Four companies of Imperial Fist were the only ones he could trust,
alongside support from the Solar Auxilia
and three dozen members of the Ligio custodies.
The custodies were bound by Markador
to bear witness to whatever awaited on the home of the Mechanicum
and represent the loyalty of the Imperium to the cause on Mars.
Dorn would place two of his most trust.
trusted commanders at the front of this strike force,
first Captain Sigismund and Canber Diaz.
They are very simple orders.
Secure production sites on Mars and if things were bad,
retake the planet.
Yeah.
Let's go Sigismund!
I love that as like the most optimistic set of orders.
Secure the production sites.
If things are bad, simply...
Retake it.
Conquer the entire world.
I mean, it's Dorn.
You think he's going to give anything more elaborate than that?
Like, you know.
He's a blunt force of brick.
Like, man, just throw him.
And Brad to bargain the whole treat with bars.
Dawn is like, fuck it, just take it.
In particular, the two major production sites that were selected by Dorn to secure were
Mondus Gamma and Mondus Oculum.
There was a very specific reason for this. These two sites had in their stocks a full production run of Mark 6 power armour, which was intended to go to the front line of the Crusades. And considering how things were going, this armour was now priceless. But the most priceless thing in one of these sites was only known to Dawn, Marcador, Sigismund and Camber. Mondes Oculum had a design template for the Mark 7 power armour, which was a prototype, as well as some early
completed runs of the armour itself.
Ooh, that's a big deal.
That's a big, big, big deal.
This was a vital prize for the future of the Imperium,
and this not going to Horace meant the loyalist had a chance
to outshine the warmaster with something new in the war effort.
As the forces would move towards Mars,
nothing would rise from orbit to stop the fleet.
Instead, they were greeted by ruins.
The Ring of Iron Shipyard that circled the Red Planet would be a graveyard flickering with Phosphax flames.
The only surviving ships were limping away seeking refuge elsewhere, but likely would be unable to make it anyway.
The Imperium would take high orbit above Olympus Mons, and they would see the scars on the planet below that stood as testament to the nightmares that occurred in such a short amount of time.
The engine yards of Hymajos Aetep were now an ocean of nuclear fire.
Hardcore.
What hardcore?
Jesus.
Good.
Did you see an ocean of nuclear fire?
You beat me to it.
A great album name.
Ocean of Nuclear Fire.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Great name.
That's great.
Imagine an actual ocean of nuclear fire is nigh unimaginable.
In Cormac McCarthy's of the road.
It's fine.
I never watched the movie version of it.
I only read the book.
I mean, they're, I mean,
It's horrible.
Yeah, I was about say you get the point regardless of which one.
Right.
Crazy.
And the life is a virus.
Nice to see that, that made a return.
Oh, great.
That's back, eh?
Would it twist its way through other forges in a heavily modified manner.
They would watch as entire Titan legions actively engage with one another in vicious
combat as millions of other warriors fought violently in trenches.
The scale of conflict on the Red Planet was well beyond anything that Sigismund and Diaz brought
with them and they knew that any attempt to reclaim this would be doomed.
I mean, you know, they learned fast.
So that's something.
Did you say the life meter virus was highly modified?
Yeah.
Did I hear that wrong?
Oh, they modified it further, eh?
So it's, oh, great, cool.
That's fucking sick.
As if it wasn't bad before.
Okay, cool.
I was going to say.
If there's one thing the galaxy needed, it was a more horrific version of the life eater virus.
Yeah, sir, we have a life eater virus.
Is it, though, I think it could do better.
Really?
All right, cool.
Sick.
However, Sigismund is just not one to peace out.
Honor, all of that nonsense.
He would meet with Canber and Arcus of the custodies and would be inconsolable with anger,
very on brand. He would rage
at the fact that there was so much betrayal against
the emperor right under their noses on
this planet. Arcus, objectively,
didn't care. His job
was to protect the emperor himself.
So,
this, like, this dumb-ass red planet
was bullshit.
Camber tried to chill Sigismund out.
He would propose a way to potentially
fulfill not only the orders of dawn,
but also preserve their honour.
It's a surprise tactic that will help us
later. I love the idea of the leader of the custodies being like, why are you talking to me about this?
Is Mars the emperor? No. Get the fuck away from me. I don't give a shit. I don't want to deal with this.
Until then, a first wave would be assigned to drop ships and Sigismund insisted that he be the first to make landfall.
Two companies of fists would land with him and their point of arrival.
would be the city of Fabricator Locum Cain, Mondes Oculum. They weren't even sure where Cain stood in all
this, so they would stand with their banners high and wait for a response. Meanwhile, Diaz and his
group didn't have to wait too long for a reply where he went. As he approached Mondes Gamma,
the Majus Lucas Crom would greet him with high energy beams and force Camber to land further
away in the high plains. He had no desire to risk his men in an immediate engagement,
so they would land and rally for a siege. An exceptionally under,
stated landing was the third one, which we'll talk about much later. The Saturnine-Rams solar
auxiliary would land at Ipluvian Maximil's forge and would face a bit of a nightmare, as there was a
lot of fighting going on, and it was nearly impossible to tell who was the good guy and who was the bad
guy. We'll come back to them, though, eventually. Sigismund would finally get a response an hour
or so later when the gates of Mondes-Oculin opened in the midst of him preparing to storm it.
He would enter its halls and find that Majos Cain's loyalty of the Imperium remained unshaken.
But as they met, they would receive word of attacks on the far side of the city.
Sigismund would go with a hundred of his men to the walls to see what was happening
because he was fairly confident that they would be able to handle a few rogue tech thralls or whatever.
This confidence was shaken when he and his men came under fire from Nemesis, Bolters.
They were fighting a force that was equal to them in war gear and in might.
strangely, they were wearing blue power armor marked with a hydra.
Oh.
Also, what is a nemesis bolter?
Just a different pattern of bolter.
Oh, okay.
It's not like a super souped up high-powered like bolter that's better than the average.
It's just, you know, just a weird.
No, it's like you've got like the sort of the Godwin pattern and the all the others.
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
Yeah, I wasn't sure if that was like a souped up like crazy STC.
ified version or something. Anyway, yeah, go ahead.
Like, this was confusing for Sigismund, because
these guys, these guys are our friends.
Dawn sent the Alpha Legion along with the others to his van
5. So, why are they on Mars? And more
specifically, why are they shooting at us?
After a bit of a nightmarish assault,
Kamba Diaz and his men would penetrate the walls of Mondes Gamma
and would take control of the eastern part of the city.
The Majos' traitor forces would fall
back and leave their weaponry, so Canber
would order the solar auxilia to begin their
landings and recover materials.
Victory for the entirety of the city
was close, and it made the captain convinced
that maybe Dawn's orders could be made
manifest. But there
was a heavy cost paid here.
200 Imperial Fists
had died during this assault, courtesy
of the unusual and nightmarish
weapons the Tracer Mechanicum
were carrying.
That's a...
It always got something.
It always got something.
It always got some kind of like,
ah, yes, my nuclear radiation beam that melts your skin.
Go, you know.
That is a very ad mec-coded weapon to have the just,
oh, yes, it's a nuclear weapon that is also irradiating the small parts of me
that are still alive.
But does more to you.
D-K, you dummy, you dingus, all ad-mec weapons are coded.
I hate it here.
It just...
Am I muted?
Am I muted?
No, yep, yep, you're muted.
You're muted.
Yep, yep, mute him.
Shy mute him.
Oh my God.
It hurt him so bad.
He started to disconnect.
You've hit him with an admec weapon.
What have you done?
No.
I'm sending out his...
I'm sending out his ones and zeros out of his microphone the same way a radioactive thing fires
electrons.
Also, sorry, I said, admec, mechanic and weapon.
That's twice now.
They have fucked this.
Meanwhile, Sigismund was pissed and would rush forward,
which is exactly what the Alpha Legion was hoping for,
as their marksmen were ready to go.
A killing shot would have actually made its mark,
had it not been for one of Kane-Salach,
successfully outflanking the sniper,
and forcing the abandonment of their position.
By the time Sigismund, as many men fully rushed forward,
the Alpha Legion were gone,
but he knew that they were.
be back. He was very worried, though, that this meant one very specific thing. The alpha lesion
weren't the only ones who went to Isvan 5 pretending to be loyal. Who else could have lied about such a thing?
Poor Sigismund. He's like, he's got one part of the puzzle. He just has no idea how big the
rest of the puzzle is and how much worse it is that he probably thought it was. He needed answers,
but he needed to keep pushing, his duty was the only cure to any concerns he had.
He would tell Locum Cain about this, and Cain would respond by waking the Tagmata ormate,
oh no, automaton's in the city, my brain stopped working on that one,
and placed them at the disposal of Sigismund for the protection of Mondes-Oculum.
If the Isfan fleet had potentially failed, then it's even more vital that Sigismund and his men stay alive.
The reinforcements for Camber, the Jovian grenadiers, would land about 80 kilometres outside of Mondes Gamma,
and they needed to push up slowly as guns were still active.
Camber and his men had to wait for support, but he wasn't going to sit still.
The grenadiers were the lifeline for he and his men, and they would fight back inside to prevent the mechanic and from reinforcing as best they could.
Instead of some glorious last stand, Camber worked with his men to sabotage and alert the thralls,
forcing them to re-root from the incoming auxilia.
The constant hit-and-run tactics were effective, but also devastating,
as dozens of fists would be overwhelmed by the forces that kept pumping out more tech monstrosities.
The losses, though terrible, would be just enough to ensure that the line was held.
Though things were still pretty rough there for Canber in Mondus Gamma,
Mondes Oculum was actually a bit more quiet.
Outside of a few pockets of thralls here and there, nothing was happening.
not even a threat or a demand from Kelbor.
The silence wasn't really welcome, though,
as Sigismund and Fabricator Locum Kane assumed that this quiet meant that there was some sort of rallying elsewhere.
But this wasn't a time to stop preparing,
and the for Mondes' Occulum kept working and kept producing weapons and war machines for the Astartes.
Even during the war, Kane was not going to compromise in his obligations to the forces of the Imperium,
and now more than ever they needed arms.
understatement of the century, really.
For 18 hours,
Mondes'Oculum sat working without much interference,
and Sigismund was struggling.
He was waffling around.
Wait, I was saying something,
and then I realized I was muted.
I was going to make some dumb joke
about, like, how the hell do they need more arms?
It's the only thing they put on themselves.
And now it's not funny anymore.
Oh, man.
With all those mechagendres
who needs more arms?
Well, you know,
Yeah, because you can't do a seed with only legs after all.
It would have been better at the time.
Mm-hmm.
Oh, Richard.
This is crushing.
Yeah.
You get him next time.
I still appreciated it.
The timing wasn't the best, but it wasn't a bad one.
Don't patronize him, Karioth.
It's a little, I do feel soly patronized.
I apologize.
You're right.
It was shit.
Kira, just trying to be nice.
Stop it.
Stop being a good person.
Just then.
I don't like it.
For 18 hours, Mande Sarkulam sat working without much interference
and Sigismund was struggling.
He was waffling between continuing to wait it out
or to rush and bring the traitors to justice.
Unfortunately, he didn't have to wait much longer, and he would be instinctually thrown into action when he received word that the Alpha Legion were fighting just outside of the city.
Pride dictated that he had to go and kill the traitors, so he would leave Kane to tend to the forges and rally his men to battle.
Sigismund is so easily led. It's unreal.
Well, he is an imperial fist.
He's a son of Dorn.
Yeah.
He's a son of Dorn, which makes him either really, really good at not being tricked or it depends on how much.
Really good at getting tricked.
Yeah.
He is a blunt instrument of destruction.
Blunt.
Yeah.
The blunt is key word.
His autism is impenetrable to trickery.
He would go through to the Western.
edge of the city and immediately engaged with the thralls and nightmares that waited outside.
They'd cut through them in an attempt to get to the Alpha Legion, but would face a surprising
resistance. For every thrall they'd cut down, it was as if two or three more stood in its place.
Because Hydra.
Shut up.
They were fun.
I didn't quite get that before.
Shut up.
Fine.
Fine.
I'm sorry that my joke was bad, but man.
That was my...
See, I can make bad jokes too.
We've all got it in us.
We can all produce his dingh out.
They were,
Stop LARPing is Bricky.
Damn.
Wow.
See, that's the correct version of LARPing.
You're doing the thing.
You were trying to accurately portray me with your bad jokes.
Yeah, except Kerea's joke was funny, so it wasn't LARPing at all.
That's true.
That's true.
We call that the Blizzard Polish.
She's just taking something originally there and doing better.
Oh, my God.
Anyway, I want to go drink breast milk.
I'll see you later.
What?
What?
It's a blizzard.
It's the blizzard thing.
It's the blizzard thing.
Oh, the breast milk.
Oh.
How foolish of me to.
Okay.
All right.
All right.
Fine.
You know what, fine.
You know what fine.
Fuck this.
We're going to replace me with John Watts.
All right.
We're out of here.
Pricky.
No.
we need.
I was just so blindsided by the words that I couldn't process what was happening beyond them.
They were, so, the thralls were far more organized and expected, and Sigismund would realize
quickly that this wasn't some sort of raid or just band of thralls outside the city.
This was the precursor to a massive assault.
The imperial fists were pinned down by this wall of tech nonsense, which allowed the Alpha Legion
to break into the city separately.
However, if the fist were to break their lines to go after the Alpha Legion,
the city would likely collapse,
so Sigismund had no choice but to hold these beasts at bay.
He found no honour in this conflict,
only mind-numbing culling,
as his true enemy walked freely through the city itself.
He really got done there, really got done.
Deffening roar would briefly pause the battle,
but this was not any sort of reinforcement for the forces of the imperial.
fists. Quite the opposite. Bursting through the miasma of scrap code were the war titans of Ligio
Mortis. Even though they were miles away from the city, they could still rain hell onto it with ease.
Sigismund was not afraid of this oncoming threat, why? But knowing he was helpless to stall their
approach was a major hit to his pride. They needed to fall back, and Sigismund needed to tell
Fabricator Locum Cain that Mondes Oculum was doomed. Speaking of which, Camber and his men,
were doing their absolute best with their hit-and-run tactics,
but soon they would find out why the master of this forge never showed himself.
Monstrosities that look like Castelax and Vorax automata would appear and engage with the fists,
but they fought less like the automata before, that's not how you pronounce that word,
automata evolved and were fighting in an adaptive and fluid manner.
He would get a distress Vox signal and immediately fall for a horrible ambush
as they were using the corpses of Imperial Fists as bait
and manipulating their voices through their Vox signals.
That's kind of sick, actually.
That's, oof.
That sucks, but that is kind of sick.
The bulk of the fists were exposed and faced a horrific assault on all sides
from these twisted creatures exceeding the strength of the dwindling space marines.
Had it not been for the rival of the Jovian Grenadiers,
the Imperial Fists in Mondes Gamma would have been completely announced.
annihilated. The numbers shifted overwhelmingly into the favour of the Imperials, and though they
didn't match the strength of their enemy, the weapons volleys were devastating and successfully
pushed the needle away from overwhelming defeat to stalemate. Crom's automator would not yield,
though, and the hold that Diaz had was slipping. He couldn't afford to lose any more fists,
but he knew that ordering a fallback to grab the final assets would doom the heroes that
had saved them. With a heavy heart, Diaz would order the final retrieval of the key assets
they had been sent to collect and would force a full evacuation.
Mondes Gamma was lost.
He knew that his order would doom thousands,
but the munitions they would retrieve could make the difference in the wars to come.
Now, the Jovian grenadiers would hold the walls as best as they could,
as the fist would recover the bounty,
and the grenadiers would not plea for their lives.
They would stand defiant and chanting as they did anything and everything in their power
to buy the imperial fists as much.
time as possible. The armour would be secured and Campbell would turn and salute the grenadiers one last
time before evacuating. The salute would be cut short thanks to a catastrophic flash of light. He would assume
that this was the doom of the grenadiers. Sigismund had no choice put to evacuate either, as the
shelling from Lidio Mortis was surprisingly a lot worse than expected. The servitors would load up as much
mark six armour as they could while the shelling would cost the lives of men left and right.
Kane's forces would do their best to wound the Titans of Lidio Mortis, but this would ultimately
only stall them. The evacuations would begin and Sigismund was determined to be the last
warrior to leave the paddle.
Have a day off Sigismund, come on.
Kane was evacuated even though he really was determined to sink with the ship and his evacuation
resulted in the automata under his command to revert to fact.
settings, causing them to be blasted apart.
Oh, that's unfortunate. Oh man.
Holding the line and assuring the escape of many, Sigismund had one final thing he needed to do.
Retrieve the prototype Mark 7 templates. This was doubly important due to the whole
the Alpha Legion here thing. He didn't have to look super hard, as the Alpha Legion would
spring a surprise attack on the vault behind his back. The Alpha Legion agents have
however, didn't realize how many imperial fists were left.
They had presumed that the majority of the fists were there to save all the Mark
6 armor and likely didn't even know about the Mark 7 templates
and would willingly abandon any SDC in favor of the armor that was already prepared.
And I have here a quote for you, D.K.
All right.
They had not reckoned with Sigismund's sheer stubbornness
and Dorn's champions thundered into their ranks
in support of the Mervidens that defiantly,
stood sentinel over the data
fain.
Holy fuck.
Holy fuck.
D.K.
Are you with us?
Oh, yeah.
I'm, I'm, uh-oh.
Did my, did my shit get wrecked?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
There were ranks in support of the,
the Mermedon's divinely
shit now over the data frame.
Well, it's, it's fitting for this.
Also, my recording is fine.
So, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, but it's funnier.
if we use the Craig's stuff because yes
Oh yeah you use the Craigs
yeah the scrap code is infiltrated
Yeah yeah this this is the million people that died that way
Yeah
crazy
Discord is fully
Discord is 100% committed to making this episode as immersive as possible
And I really appreciate it
Discord is in overall the Wumpus Torture this week
Dude I love the Wampus Torture
It's the amount of like true spite and like actually disturbing gore I have seen of Wumpus,
the Discord mascot getting tortured is hysterical to me because I just like the whole internet,
including Renaissance style level artists going like, yeah, I'm going to draw this person getting
fucking shredded.
It's hysterical.
Tell me, tell me you saw the all tomorrow's one.
Should I please tell me you saw them?
that.
I like the one of Saturn devouring their son.
That one's really good.
Yep, that was a good one.
Sure, sure, sure.
There's some good stuff there.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Anyway, I do like how that quote was,
they had not reckoned with Sigismund's sheer stubbornness,
which is perfect, exactly what I expected.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
So for the first time in the history of the Imperial Fist,
the black sword of Sigismund would take the lives of space marines,
and it would cleave.
through the sons of Alfarious.
But the mocking last words of it,
oh my God, shy for first sake.
Yeah, that's the whole tomorrow's one.
I hadn't seen, I, I'd not seen it.
Oh, brother, that's the last one.
Wait, two, no.
What are you talking about?
That's just Conrad Kerrhus' floor.
Wow.
That's fair.
Oh, surely you've seen the one where Wumpus has been stretched
across a night lord's armor, right?
Of course I have.
Of course I have. Who do you think I am?
Of course you have. Of course you have.
I should have known that it was the sentient, like, poop filtration system people for all
tomorrows. I don't know why I didn't immediately pick up on that's exactly what that would be.
Of all the options, what else was it going to be?
So the mocking last words of an Alphilegeian pretoll would make Sigismund's assault feel
hollow. The data had been extracted by the Alpha Legion, and this was another distraction.
Oh, classic, Classic Alpha Legion, you can't beat it. Sigismund would cut the head off the
laughing traitor before vacating the dying city as Ligio Mortis would finalize their bombardment.
Though armour had been retrieved, the true prize was now absent, and thousands were lost.
Camber was dealing with the weight of thousands being lost as well, and the flash that enveloped the
grenadiers would fade just enough to reveal.
real that this was not, in fact, a killing blow. In actuality, there was no ruin at the source of
this flash. Quite the opposite, standing valiantly among the grenadiers were the custodians,
who immediately rushed the monstrosities of Crom. Though these automata were mighty,
they didn't stand a chance against the Emperor's own guard, and the custodian's presence would
allow the auxiliary to fall back and retreat. Camber could not abandon these warriors,
and would hold ships for them, deploying his rearguard to act as cover to save as may.
grenadiers as possible. Once boarded, the ships would escape the surface and the custodies would
teleport away, leaving a graveyard in their wake. Which also suggests they could have done that all
along, but we'll ignore that for now. Nice and, you know, supportive of them to get involved in the
fight that they don't care about, at least. So speaking of solar auxilia, remember the saturnine
Rams that were mentioned ages ago that landed at Ipluvian Maximal? Well, as they
the Space Marines force in those two forges, the Saturnine Rams faced a lot of incoherent
chaos when they landed, and this was because they had landed in the brunt of the forces
of the Fabricator General. They couldn't distinguish between friend and foe, and eventually
they had to hold back in order to determine the best cause of action. They had no support,
and their defence was limited to their ammo stocks. The last confirmed communication between
the Saturnine Rams and the rest of the Imperial forces came when Sigismund was watching the arrival
of Ligio Mortis.
A short Vox burst from Legate
Marshal de Valles said
ammunition is all but exhausted.
All Terracos have sustained heavy losses.
Our position is untenable
without support. I am attacking
with available forces.
Sigismund and Campbell would attempt
to contact the Rams, but there would be
no reply. No shuttles
would rise up from a Pluvian maximal
and upon returning to terror,
the Rams would be honored as
martyrs. That's that just
flat out sucks. Yeah, that blows. There's no fun there.
Speaking of martyrdom, Magma City would fall under siege shortly after this. Ligio Mortis
would strike from the northwest, first overwhelming the outer districts and then breaching into
the forge fain properly. While the fists were busy elsewhere, Coriol Zeth had worked desperately
hard to rally as many Mechanicum loyalists as she could, and Magma City had become a haven of
sorts for a glorious final stand against the traitors. The titans of Lijo Tempestus would march out
from Magma City to face Lijomortis head on in a final stand. The forces of the Dark Mechanican
were endless though and the war engines proved to be overwhelming. Lijo Tempestus would fall and the
Dark Mechanicum forces would make their way toward the heart of Magma City to claim it as their own.
But Zeth would refuse to yield and would not allow her city or her
secret technology to be claimed by the traitors.
In a final show of destructive force,
she would open the Caldera Gates of Magma City
that would cause a cascade of magma
to destroy literally everything within the radius of it.
Yeesh!
I mean, that is your 30-40K all-encompassing destruction.
Yeah, yeah.
You gotta love a...
I was going to say Pyrrhic victory,
but if you die and all your heart,
Tommy's die.
It's not even Pyrick at that point.
What is it?
Oh, yes.
So, loser.
Yeah.
Yeah, Shai, that is kind of bad manner.
Shai, you're right.
You're right.
But, you know, such is the setting, you know.
I mean, there's secret tech in there.
There is potentially the tech to retrieve all of humanity's lost knowledge.
You don't want that falling into the hands of Kelbor hell.
Yeah.
Bad form.
Bad form, man.
Bad idea.
Bad form.
Bad form.
How little dignity.
Jesus.
If I remember the book correctly as well, Mechanicum,
spoiler alert, just thrown out there.
They do do a test run of that device,
if I remember correctly.
And it sort of,
kind of works.
But I believe it does burn out the guy
who was on the receiving end of all the knowledge.
I'm pretty sure it absolutely fucking ruins him.
So, you know, it needed some work, but they're on to a winner.
Minor.
All that would stand during this molten hell would be the gates of this city.
And I have a quote here.
I think it's me, yeah.
Three hours after adept Coriol Zeth unleashed doom upon her forge,
the magma city finally sank beneath the great inland lake of lava.
The last of its towers were cast down.
Zeth's inner forge filled with lava and all her great works were destroyed as thoroughly as though they had never existed.
And with their destruction, all hope of lifting the Imperium into a golden age of scientific progress, not seen since humanity set forth from its birth rock, was lost forever.
Great.
Awesome. That sucks.
Oh, man. Yeah, that is no moss.
that's uh yeah that that's especially tough when you think about all of the absolute nonsense bullshit rituals that everyone has to go through to make their vehicles work yeah
in 40k yeah 40k too because this is 30k and then 30k yeah like they weren't even as bad back when
yeah it's congratulations it gets way worse yeah just the line all hope of lifting the imperium into a golden age of
scientific progress, not seen since humanity set forth from its birth rock, lost forever.
Like, oh, holy shit.
Oh, God.
Jesus.
That sucks, brother.
Yeah.
Oh.
That's a tough one.
Yeah.
The forces of the Imperium would regroup an orbit around Mars, but only barely.
The casualties they'd suffered were monumental.
Ultimately, there was some significant.
access in their actions, they were able to secure enough armour in order to make Dawn confident
in the battles that were to come. Also, even if the data was copied by the traitors, they still
had fabricator Locum Kane, who was the architect of the designs anyway, so they could safely
move him to terror in order to secure a new developmental effort against the traitors. Tools and
information in the grand scheme of things were a monumental thing to have in the events that were
to come, as the violence would only get worse in ways that terror was not ready to come to terms with.
This being said, this victory could have been greater.
The traitors had not been defeated, they'd only been stalled,
and those who survived today would return again at another time,
emboldened by the failures of the Imperium.
Eat your heart out for it.
Turned outcome of Mars victory, a traitor victory.
Though attempts would be made to reclaim Mars before the siege,
story for another time,
the resources for a full reclamation just weren't there.
Ultimately, the best Rogal Dorn could do was blockade the world as best as possible and prepare for the worst.
A massive portion of the Mechanicum would fall to Kelbor Hal and the Dark Mechanicum,
but many would still remain loyal thanks to either being able to filter out the scrap code directly
or by not rewiring the forces properly.
For about a third of the Skittari, there served the Fabricator General who serves the Mechanicum Code,
noted that Kelbor Hal was no longer actually serving the Mechanicum, so he was not to be served.
That is something technically correct is the best kind of correct bullshit.
I quite like that.
Instead, they serve Fabricator Locum Cain instead,
as he served the Mechanicum and honored their treaty with the Imperium.
And we have got one last quote for you, D.K.
All right, Discord. Hold out. Just hold out a little longer.
As the Loyalists left to rot on the ashen plains of distant East Van Five
had learned, the war that had begun with the death of innocence would be neither swift
nor contained. It would rage her more than a decade and ravage the galaxy entire. What had
begun in silence would end only in the deafening tumult and bitter rage. Yeah. Yep. I mean,
that's the schism of Mars, horrible from start to finish, and which resulted in so many years
of awful war and death.
Big traitor dub, let's go.
Big traitor dub.
Horace could never.
Let's go.
Kelball how did what Horace could only dream of.
Win.
And we don't even know that he's dead.
So he's absolutely, you know, he's nailed it.
Even in the long game, he's nailed it.
You know, kind of cool to see it.
Kind of cool the sea just like, hmm.
Good old traitor dub.
Kind of like when Angeron did the big traitor dub in the Arks of Omen campaign.
Oh, yeah.
Mm-hmm.
You just wins.
Sometimes it's good to see the traders win.
Can't just be all loyalist Pyrrhic victories, right?
I mean, it could.
I could.
It's a lot of the time that happened.
They weren't hit as hard as if it's every time, though.
Well, damn.
Schisms, eh?
I mean, it is the schism of Mars.
good old Cowboy Hall
poor poor Zeth
Ah Zeth
We need a Zeth Mini
Host Haste
We needed a Zeth Mini yesterday
I mean
I don't think
I don't think Zeth is around
anymore you know
For minis
Well
I mean there's
Who have we got
Who've we got
Minitur Wise
That's actually dead
There's a worse
Mini out there
In 30K stuff right
I mean yeah
the 30K stuff is different, so I wouldn't necessarily count it.
You could get a Zeth 30K mini, right?
Yeah, surely.
Yeah.
Isn't Janisha Kroll still got a mini?
Yeah.
I don't actually know, but I'm just going to agree with you because I want the Zephany really bad because she looks really fucking cool.
Yeah, they're like four horse minis.
Tell them, shy.
Tell them.
Yeah, Kroll is one of three things that you can buy for the Sisters of Silence.
on the GW web store.
It is unfortunate that the Gostody's got what is basically accounts to an entire range refresh.
And there were no scissors of silence updates, which is really crushing because I would have very much liked at least a few.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'd love to see them get literally anything at this point.
Anything at all would be great.
You know, can I have like a, can I have a Zeth Mini anyway?
but like due to her ability to like get all the stuff from the warp or whatever she's just like a sentient like piece of lava
yes sure why not no no no no now now listen listen to me though because like this sounds like a 40k thing
uh like zezeth um did not die when the lava surrounded her due to the immense hate resonating through
her corflex in the warp.
She turned into a being
of not quite death,
not quite life,
a moving sentient lava pit
of nothing but hatred for the Imperium.
It sounds exactly like what would happen.
I thought you were going to say,
hear me out,
because of her crazy atheist belief,
the emperor decided to save her in the warp
and through her that faith,
she turned into a sister,
and now she's,
I'm going to be able to run her as a sister of battle.
No, no, no.
You got combined that with yours.
You, like, shy's idea of now she's a Legion of the game,
but Mechanica's thing.
Yeah.
Her fedora saved her from the lava.
Her fedora was so strong that it ended up creating a thing where it blocked the lava.
Hell yeah.
Let's go.
Make it happen, GW.
This is a billion dollar idea.
You're welcome.
She kind of rocks, actually, though.
I'm a little sad.
She's gone.
Agreed.
She is actually.
She rocks.
I also like, I mean, it makes sense because I like people who are, who acts mostly normal.
But, uh, I think that's, I think that's fair.
I think that's, yeah, yeah, that's not insane statement.
Well, it's so, it's so rare.
It's so rare that she's just like, like, mostly normal.
I mean, looking at her artwork, I say mostly with a, it's doing a lot of heavy lifting, but even so, you know, they never survive.
They never gave anywhere
inch of salt
Yeah
Yeah
Well the schism of Mars
Kelbor Hall big dub
Huge trader dub
Huge huge trader dub
Absolutely awesome
Kelbor Hall's state winning
Looks awesome
Cannot wait for him to be the

You think he wears that silly little mask that he's holding on to you there?
I think he puts it on just to freak people out.
That's not a silly little mask.
That's his face.
Don't be in his hand?
I don't know if that's true.
I said it.
I've said it.
I have no idea.
It's like a,
it's like a theater mask.
Yeah, yeah, it looks like a theater mask.
Yeah.
Yeah, like the crying one and the, yeah.
What's the, um, what's the, uh, oh, crap.
Phantom of the Opera.
Oh, that's only half the face.
never mind.
Oh, we love Phantom of the Opera, though.
That's my favorite musical of all time, I think.
You know, I think I need to, like, actually see that as, like, a real musical to, like, truly know, because I've only seen, like, the films.
Oh, you never seen, like, the, you can buy the stage play version.
Yeah, no, I'm sure.
It's filmed on, like, the O2 and stuff.
It's great.
Love it.
I just never have.
Yeah.
Gerard Butler is a shockingly decent Phantom, actually, in the movie.
Better him than, um.

very similar.
A little bit.
I can kind of,
I can kind of see it.
Kind of.
Oh,
maybe,
I don't know.
This is,
maybe I've got blindness for this.
Anyway,

Next week is Monday.
All right.
Goodbye, everyone.
