Episode Date: April 8, 2026https://www.patreon.com/AdeptusRidiculoushttps://www.adeptusridiculous.com/https://twitter.com/AdRidiculoushttps://shop.orchideight.com/collections/adeptus-ridiculousIn this episode, Bricky and DK are... joined by the legendary PancreasNoWork and the stoic stallion Kirioth to dissect the absolute chaos that was AdeptiCon 2026. Between PA systems that sounded like a Vox-caster underwater and a stream schedule held together by hope and duct tape, we managed to find some actually incredible reveals. We talk through the mountain of new plastic, from the massive Armageddon Box Set and Wazdakka Gutsmek to the latest reveals for Age of Sigmar. It’s a lot of plastic crack, a lot of tech issues, and a lot of shouting about space marine slop.Support the show

Welcome everyone to another episode of the Adeptus Ridiculous podcast.
My name is D.K. Diamantis, his name is Bricky, and we have an all-star cast today with Karyoth and Pankreus, no work as well.
But before we get into all that, if you enjoy today's episode and maybe you want to support the podcast,
head over to patreon.com slash Adeptis Ridiculous, where you get access to the Discord, bloopers if they happen, $15 to get you access to all of our posters,
which two announcements about the Patreon before we get into all.
this, we release the full version of our scriptwriter possums,
Tales from the Lore Minds on Patreon.
It's a short 40-minute audiobook about their writing, research process on a trilogy of books,
and it's read by a pro-voice actor, Lucas Shenaman.
Love that.
Love it.

Lucas is phenomenal.
You should absolutely check that out.
And number two, there is a new poster.
Is everybody ready to check out our brand spanking new poster?
Oh, well, you should.
It's good.
It's great.
I love it.
Jeez.
Kings!
The man's back.
You know, I don't even, I don't even care about the art of the poster.
I care.
Halis-Say, I love you.
I care about the name.
Old Bay Eye.
Hey.
Hey.
It's a good name.
Come on.
I thought that was great.
No, that is really good.
That's a good one.
I got to give you that credit.
There's a brand new,
the brand new poster,
loosely inspired by commissar, Yarek.
There.
And, okay, old Bayey is pretty good.
I'm going to, I have to give you a little.
Yeah, all right, shy.
you get a plus two for that one.
You get a plus two for that one.
That's a plus two,
100%. Yeah.
Yep.
Um,
that being said,
I,
I have,
I have some,
I have some more merch that needs to be done for today.
Um,
I'm gonna,
I'm gonna get a,
I'm gonna get our,
our assistant editor,
Sparky to do our,
our best on this one.
Um,
uh,
you know,
you know,
Today we're talking about Adepticon, right?
Mm-hmm.
Right?
We're talking about Depticon.
It's like, hey, DK, give me an Adepticon stream with extra models.
Oh.
Oh, shit, he doesn't get it.
Sorry, I don't.
Hey, pancreas, give me a Depticon stream with extra models.
Extra models?
And hold the sound.
Oh.
You mean, are you shitty?
Give me a stream with nothing.
Yeah.
It was loading up.
You know, you got, you got to do each, each part of the bit.
All right.
Man, man, all right.
Screw this shit.
Well, for the next one week only, and I do mean the next one week only, please enjoy the
brand new technical, what the, there we go, technical difficulties t-shirt.
Please stand by as we pray to the Omn Messiah.
I may need to remove the on the sci apart at the bottom of that because that might that might be
Yeah you might yeah yeah technical difficulties please stand by t-shirt as well for the next one week only and of course who could forget the very important brand new warhammer extra large coaster pack available for only one week no more circles with a
That actually what it is.
With an actual genuine screen cap of my reaction to my thousands and thousands of undone circles.
This t-shirt and objective marker are now available for one week only.
Get them while they're hot.
There's also a discounted version if you buy.
both. Check them out. Orchidate.com.
Linked in the description, ad-rick merch section.
I believe the circles are still usable for like A.

So it's not like a total loss, but enjoy them.
Also, you can buy them in packs of one if you would like.
It just has a joke.
So enjoy the new merch.
And you can pick up the poster while you're at it with Old Bay.
eye.
What a time that was they're seeing that reveal.
As soon as that happened, much like you, I was, I was streaming the reveals as well.
And one of the first things I said was, is anyone checked on Bricky?
Is Bricky okay?
I think that's not the news.
I think that was like everybody's reaction.
Yeah. Well, now you see the exact face I made when that happens.
Yeah.
So,
I mean, with the base you're making,
it looks like you were the one that caused the circles to go away.
Like,
you literally look like you just got caught.
Like stealing the cookie from the cookie jar.
Stealing the circles.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You got caught red-handed.
Crazy.
Yeah.
Yeah, good goofy stuff.
But anyway, check it out in the description.
Adapticon, folks, pancreas.
Good seeing you again, buddy. Thanks for coming on.
Of course. My pleasure.
The Kiryoth, I mean, I would, I'd say the same, but you're, you hear a lot now, so.
Mm-hmm.
You know.
The shine's worn off. It's, it's fine. I get it.
Oh, it's just Kiryoth now.
The shine's worn off and leached through the roof, unfortunately.
Oh, don't. I'm just, wrong joke for Kyriots.
I'm just happy that pancreas will be in the same recording as me after the last time.
That's nice.
Oh, God.
That's, yeah, the March 18th, April Fool's Day joke.
Love that, dude.
The special package hasn't arrived yet, so.
You've got a present coming.
But, yes, so a few weeks back, Games Workshop has their ever-famous Adepticon.
You were at Adepticon, right?
Chris? I was. It was, uh, it was nice. It's, uh, that's, that's, there's in, there's in Milwaukee, if I'm not mistaken, correct? It, it is in Milwaukee. Yeah. Right in the, right in the heart of Wisconsin. I hope that state gets glassed by the covenant, but no, the con, the con itself was nice. Good, good, good, glad to hear it. Uh, uh, but we can't, we can't, unfortunately can't do that because then we'll lose, um, Mike Stlclosa and Rich Evans. So we, we, unfortunately are going to have to keep it a lot.
We can exfiltrate them.
We can get them out.
Yeah, yeah.
It's like the civilian mission on reach.
But obviously, Depticon happens every year.
It's kind of a, you know, first quarter of the year.
Games Workshop tends to have a big old thing.
It's, you know, it's a convention.
There's lots of painting stuff.
Lots of pretty prolific Warhammer, like content creators and painters.
and things like that kind of all come by.
Uh, I am I something never gone, unfortunately,
because it is the same weekend as Pax East every time.
And I really like Pax East.
Maybe I'll make the jump one day, but we'll see.
Uh, but, uh, they also tend to have a big stream where they show off all kinds of
new things in Warhammer and for about, they try.
They try to have it really hard.
And for the third, I think the third year in the row in the row have been marred by
intense technical difficulties and sound problems.
Ridiculous levels of it, by the way, as,
and I hate to say it,
we all could maybe have done better with our time,
well, maybe not you, Pink,
but with our time streaming and the like.
I mean, there comes a point where you just feel bad for the actual presenters
when they're on their one and only working microphone out of three
and you still can't hear them,
there's just a part of seeing that happen
where you're like,
you're going to get a lot of blame for this,
and I just feel bad for you,
because you are literally just trying to do your job,
but no one can hear...
Actually, no, that's not fair.
Sometimes no one can hear what you say.
Other times people are being deafened
by the most atrocious reverb I've ever heard in my life,
and it's just that and the,
stream cutting out halfway as well. That was quite fun. Also, if you try to watch it on YouTube,
which is generally what I tend to do, they set a schedule stream to go live. Now, when you set a
schedule stream on YouTube, you then have to point your streaming software at that schedule stream.
Otherwise, you just go live on a totally different one, which is exactly what they did. So that was
already a bad start for YouTube because they were live on Twitch. YouTube was showing nothing.
but it's okay because if you had the schedule stream up,
it was still dead,
but the description had been changed
to say the stream's actually here.
So you had to click that to get to a different one.
The main one was set unlisted, obviously,
because it didn't work.
And then when everything went down,
they then started streaming again
to yet another YouTube stream.
So we had three different variations.
And, you know, in the end, two of them didn't work.
So that was fun.
That is actually in the list of things for like Adepticon.
I was going to refer to that as like the elephant in the room,
but the presentation itself was kind of disastrously bad.
But Bricky sort of preempted that by making a literal t-shirt about it.
So I'm very happy to see the t-shirt.
I felt that if there was a time for me to hop on this bandwagon,
it would be now the benefit of owning a merch store is that when there's a meme,
I can just hop on that immediately.
Even now we're a little bit late technically, but just because the adepticom was a few weeks back, but even so, good times across the board.
What a world.
I hear that the, I don't know if you have any insight on this, but I hear in person pancreas that it was not much better with how the mics were in the audience.
No, it was
It was not
It was
It was just as reverby and loud
When it was working
And it's
I don't
It was it was bad
It still was not any good
This is a
It's a little humorous
Because like when I
When I saw them
Start playing trailers and stuff
Or like images of
Of various
You know
New models and stuff of that nature
And then their audio would cut
out immediately.
My first thought was they didn't add the audio track for the announcers to this particular
scene.
And like, like, instant streamer brain turned on and was like, oh, they forgot to add the audio
track.
And then they would go back and they'd be back.
I'm like, oh, there it is again.
Mm.
Guys, imagine doing that for Adepticon, your biggest event.
Yeah.
And you're just like, whoops, didn't add the audio track to this scene.
Oh, boy.
I don't know how it happened or where or why.
But it's, um, it was a time.
But anyway, technical difficulties aside.
And oh, there were many.
We did get a lot of announcements.
Keriath Shai said that you have a like, kind of a bit of a run of show that you can go through a bit by bit.
There's, there's, there's a, I think there were a few, there are a few highlights.
There are a few things that were maybe, I mean, the problem with putting this list together.
Because I, you know, you've mentioned miniatures.
I think if we start off with, uh, with some of the, um, there's some of the,
more fun things that were showing off.
There's obviously a little bit of built-in subjective bias going on.
So, I mean, straight off the bat, there is, when I was looking through all the stuff again,
I did have a moment of do we want to talk about yet another KDN squad?
Or do we just say that exists and move on?
Because my overwhelming feeling to that was, oh my God, that's the Red Terror.
Oh, and there's some other guys.
Which, you know, I may be alone in that, but that's kind of out of the fact.
out of that particular
announcement for Kill Team,
was anyone more excited for Cadians
than the Red Terror coming back?
I feel like probably not.
Are we going straight into Kill Team first
as our choice?
I think start out on something
truly fun and impressive
and let's do the Red Terror first
and then let's shift over
into the insanity
that was so many actually fun
and interesting Imperial Guard reveals.
Again, once the bias kind of slipping through, but there you go.
Because they had some actually really cool stuff.
And, you know, I always say, that's cool.
Yeah, like when the red terror went away, I was like, that's sad, but I don't know if anyone has the picture of the old miniature, but that is a dated market improvement right here.
Extensibly.
The only downside I have with this miniature is we've moved from tactical rock.
to tactical in motion slammed pillar,
which is a bit,
a bit much,
but so long as that pillar on the side,
oh,
there he is.
Whoa.
Hmm.
Yeah.
Slaps belly and rubs it.
Yeah, that's a, that's an age old model.
All right.
Oh, boy.
What a lovely little guy right there.
Yeah, that is,
that is an extensive improvement.
Yeah, very.
Also, this is going to be a very me question.
I don't know if I've forgotten, but who, pray tell, is the Red Terror?
Effectively, a tyrannid character, so to speak.
Instead of having your various kernels of whatever nature, it's just a slightly distinctive version of whatever bioform, which I think for the Red Terror, it's initially a Trigon, isn't it?
Or, no, Morlock?
One of the other.
Big Swords means Trigone.
little stubby once not only means Mollock.
Though I think it also eats people a bunch, which is what Mollocks do.
Yeah.
I think the initial one, I believe, was a Ravana.
So I think it's sort of like grown out of that.
But yeah, you've effectively got a non-unique bioform that has sort of become something
a bit different and a bit interesting and ended up, frankly, being incredibly cool.
Hell, yeah.
You know what?
I'm really curious about this, because I'm really not sure.
sure on the whole like kinetic movement thing with smashing the scenery.
Where do you,
where do you lie on that?
See, I am,
I'm someone who,
it's weird.
It's like,
it's rule of cool as in it looks awesome.
But at the same time,
I,
I,
how'd I put this?
If the scenery bits are not like literally there in order to cover holes in
the model itself,
I won't mind.
But like,
for example,
that's what I was worried of,
about earlier, where is that statue on the left covering and opening in the leg?
So my shoe choose against not using the statue, will I just have a giant opening that I need
to green stuff?
And if that's the case, that kind of blows.
But like, the little bits of rubble on its claw, if I can just not put that there or I can
snip it off, then like, okay, whatever, that's fine, you know, it's sure.
Yeah, surely you can.
Like, especially like the one on the claw.
Like, there's no way that's like a necessity for like hiding a hole or something.
Yeah.
The one on the tail though that I have a feeling that might be imprint there.
It's like, no, you need to use the step that.
That tail one for sure.
The other pillar, maybe not.
But that little statue guy on the tail, yeah.
I think it's probably the only thing I'm not sure about.
Everything else is just really, really cool.
Oh, yeah.
It looks great.
Yeah.
So good.
I like his eyes because if you look in the bottom version of the photo,
he looks like he's really judging you.
He has the six eyes and he's just kind of like squinting at you like, what are you doing over there?
They're all like narrowed.
Just mouth the gate just.
Yep.
Just that face coming down from the ceiling and ceiling red terror is watching you.
You know that image of, oh, go ahead, pink.
It looks like the face of like a parent asking the kid.
What are you got in your hand?
What is that? What do you got?
It has, for me, it's the cat with the jeans on.
That's like the fuck they do one over there.
In a visual look.
But now the red terror, I mean, do we have notes besides this looks awesome?
The only thing is the statue, I think.
Yeah, it looks awesome.
Fucking sick.
It's, it's something that's been around for absolutely ages.
Like, you know, we've got the older model there.
It's been gone for so long.
I can't even remember the last time it was in a codex.
Like, it's properly, for them to bring it back,
just the fact that they've done it is for me, it's like, oh, that's enough.
I don't care if they've done nothing else but bring the model back.
It's doing the nostalgia thing.
It's just going, you remember this.
Now it's good.
That is a much better angle of that mini.
God, it looks even better from that, that.
that second picture's like angle.
I think I can answer your question,
Karioth.
I think the last time the Red Terror was in a codex
was either 8th edition or 9th edition
pre-tiered codex in which it was then Legends
with the 9th edition codex.
It was actually not too long ago because I remember
seeing its data sheet.
I just remember it being bad.
So no one took it.
This one, however, will probably be a lot more
interesting than while I really like Return of the Jedi, uh, rebel troopers, second half
in this box.
Yeah.
Oh, dear.
I mean, look, just we'll, we'll throw, we'll throw a couple in there.
We'll throw a couple in there.
They are perfectly fine.
They're perfectly fine guys.
Oh, no.
The gun is.
What happened?
Oh, don't worry about that.
That's its own.
thing. Now, no, no, no, no, the Vox relay beacon, however.
Now that's...
Premium quality.
That's quality right there.
Oh, yeah.
Quality.
GW at its finest.
Honest to God, this is just one of those situations, I think, where, like, if this came
out with the 9th edition or 10th edition guard codex alongside.
like, you know, casso-kid and everything, no one would have any issues.
They'd be like, these look sick, this is awesome.
It's kind of a, you know, more covert team.
That's cool, cool, cool.
But we're sitting here with like the most dated Katachin models of all time,
wondering why the hell is this not Katachin or Taneth or anything else.
Yeah, yeah.
There's just, there's so many, there are so many regiments that used to have models and now
don't or have got
ancient models and
instead it's like and here is a
slightly different flavor of Cadians
it's like but you're selling guys who
look like potatoes. Why didn't you
rework those? What is this?
But
to be fair, like
we did get actual decent
guard stuff. I mean that's not to say these are bad.
I keep saying that like these are terrible and they're not
but they're just not interesting.
It has like
regard. It has like read the room energy.
like read the room guys
you know i can't even imagine what it would have been like
if they didn't show you the napkin scribbles of the armageddon coming out
and then shut off more cadians
i mean i mean don't get me wrong love me some guard
guard had more model like more kit reveals this show than like gray night has kits
oh yeah that's that's that's actually oh that's a moral boy to oh man i i actually
Well, when you put it like that.
I don't think I'm super off base with that, too.
Like, mine is some character stuff.
I mean, it's pretty close.
Yeah, yeah, it is.
I mean, I know we saw Yarrake beforehand,
but like between Yarrake and Graves, the two transports,
the new Inquisitor, this lot, like, it's not that far off,
and it feels like it shouldn't be that close.
So, so, pancreas, I don't know if this is your brand of autism,
but like are you are you soy jacques are you are you wow are you are you are you are you are you are you are you are you are you are you are you are you are you are you
I really don't want to answer that because it is my brand yes okay I saw that thing and it was like oh that guy's really cool and then the person next to me was like I know what you are well I so you said hippagriff tank and I was like oh I wonder what that looks like and it is
soon as the picture popped up, I was like, oh, yeah, no wonder you're keying in on pancreas.
Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Got it. That's just, we, we got to, we got to encircle the Germans, you know?
Like, this, uh, it's a lot to, there's a lot to be done here. Mm-hmm. Crazy. You know,
first, first, first Warhammer terrain set in rural France. I'm really hyped for it.
I, I'm, all jokes aside, I genuinely love this mini. It's everything I love. It's a great looking
tank. The thing about
these tanks, I really
like that guard is moving towards the
putting a bunch of
like random gubbins
and shit on the side of the tank
like ammo cases
and sleeping rolls and stuff like
that. Big fan of that.
Ah, big fan of the shovels. Got you.
Got you. It is
I'm glad
they're kind of adding that kind of vehicle
too. I like tanks. I like
my tanks, but I like the not quite
tanks, too. You know, it fleshes out
the monster.
It's also, like, if you want
a little light scout vehicle and guard,
you took the ATAT walkers, you took the Sentinels.
Yeah. Right? And like having
a little, just this little guy that's going to
zip around and be like, ha ha,
melt a blast. It's kind of cool.
You know, I got to say, now that you
mention all the little gubbins on the side, those are
nice little additions to make it seem more
like a, just like
a real ass soldier tank. And
Instead of just like, oh, look, we put a bolter where the headlights are and we put another bolter in the wheel well or something.
It's like, oh, this actually looks like a combat patrol vehicle or something.
That is, that is kind of nice, actually.
They're really fun.
What's the name of the, what's the name of the transport again?
It's the cental.
Cental, depending on, I guess.
I think we call the centaur, but yeah.
I also, I do enjoy the fact that Guard is maintaining their thing of naming all of their vehicles after various like creatures,
mythological things, the Wyver and the Manticore, the basilisk, you know, the chimera.
It's neat.
So they get the centaur, the hippogriff.
That's cool.
I like that.
They do the same thing in Halo.
Yeah.
It's, it's good.
Please take notes.
This is good.
I'm not going to lie.
And my first thought was when you started saying that,
the, oh, yes, my favorite mythological beast,
Gorgal Dore.
I was right there with you.
I was like, the Rogal Dahl.
I mean, the Lehm and Ross.
All very mythical creatures.
The death strike missile launcher.
I think that's what Zeus's lightning bolt translates to.
I,
I mean, I love the half track.
The half track is awesome.
Big fan.
The hippogriff is really cool.
But I'm not going to lie.
The Commissar Graves Pimpmobile is insane.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, it's what I really like is that they did these two trans, well, they did the transport and they did the transport and they've done the like the, the, the, the AFV.
And they're basically gone and now for something that is basically just a historical tank.
that you could probably put down in the middle of a bolt action battlefield.
And someone might go,
no proportions are weird,
but they probably wouldn't think too much of it.
And then they also went,
and also this carlatar gets one,
and it looks insane.
Because you can't just have it look normal.
You've got to have a pulpit on there.
You've got to give a load of armor up the front.
And it's really funny that specifically D.K.
You're like, you know,
they just stick heavy bolts where the headlights are.
Would you look at that?
That wasn't a request.
It's just too damn bad.
Yeah.
I was like, oh, man, everything I loved about the hippogriff and stuff is gone from here.
It still looks great, though.
Obviously, you love a little bit of the over-dramatic flair of the Imperium.
I mean, this is basically...
Sorry, going, Ricky.
Well, I just said this is basically just the fortress of arrogance.
the commissar Yarex hellhammer, but like,
yeah, yeah.
It's its own version of the vehicle.
Yeah.
Also, I don't know if you caught this, but on the, the front of the box for
Commissar Graves, it specifically said two miniatures.
So I wonder if you actually build graves twice, one with the on the ground version and
one with the sword version.
And so you don't just take the sword version off.
You actually have two minis.
I'm not sure.
It's two completely different poses.
So with the, at least the lower, actually, you know what?
I think it is just two different, completely different miniatures because she's got the whole drive me closer so I can hit them with my sword pose on the actual vehicle, which I'm loving that that's the pose they went with.
Yeah.
I feel like the angle of the head is similar from the two different models, but the way the, like, the way, the way.
the arms pointed, the overall posing on the other arm, you know, the fact the legs are so different.
Also, she's screaming in one and then she's got a normal expression in the other.
So it might actually be that, yeah, you just get two completely separate models.
Although I do like that it's counting.
I know that's technically how it works, but you get two miniatures and then one of the miniatures is a vehicle with four guys in it.
that sort of thing
always makes me laugh
I love the guys in it too
like obviously you got the banner person
and stuff but I love the like
really old dude with the monocle
with the
binoculars
just because he just has this face
of like
43
longitude south fire
you know I don't know
there's just something about him
it gets me
also is Graves a pretty
is that like a
lore character that I should know
or is it just some commasar they
picked to get a snazzy tank?
She's new. As far as I know,
she's new. Okay.
It's, she is pretty important.
I mean, it's weird because
like obviously me, guard player,
love guard,
look at all these awesome new garb nature. Not to mention
that the box they have is like a phenomenal
deal. What is it? A centaur,
10-Kadians, two hippogriffs and a dorn.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Excellent.
I would buy two of those and just give a buddy the other hippogriff.
You know, like, unless you can run them in squads of two, which would be really cool, because then they'd be like the, oh, God, the hernkin debilitators or whatever the shit, those little, you know, Capricus defenders, the Voton little skips.
Oh, the three, the sort of three, I was going to say three wheeled.
They're not, you know, the hovertrial.
strike the whole deal with the green machine yeah but like the the transport version those slightly
bigger ones um not the not the bikes but but yeah i was maybe like run them in like squads of one
to two kind of like how sedinals can so but yeah there's a lot of bang for your buck in that box
it's a good deal yeah it's a good deal for guard it's a really good deal for guard actually and it's
i mean i'm not so sure i feel about everyone getting two dorns but you know maybe the dorns will
finally be nerfed in 11th edition
because damn are they good?
I like the...
One of the things that I was thinking about
when they first showed them off
was how fun it was
that there was actually something
that looked relatively...
Like, I know that when it comes to Imperial Guard,
obviously their tanks are a sort of mix
of World War I and World War II aesthetics
and everything sort of jumbled together
into something that looks kind of sci-fi,
but not really.
But then it really gets thrown
into proper, like, Star-Rubber
beef when you've got two things that look really quite just like historical vehicles and then you put
one of them next to the Rogel Dawn which looks like the most insane tank ever made next to
something that looks just real it just looks oh here's it is like a fairly light sort of scouting
vehicle but it's got some decent weaponry and here is a giganto platform simply covered in guns
hell yeah it means you're again contrast is great they do it again
with the Bainblade.
Yes.
Yeah.
It's super goofy.
We did also get the new,
the new Inquisitor as well,
who looks absolutely mental.
So,
whoa!
His lore of like,
he hunted down this,
this squid
rhino thing,
or like horse thing,
dog to nearly
extinction.
No,
no,
to extinction.
and then saved one final one for him as a mount.
I mean, he's crazy.
He's just a British safari dude.
Like, I don't know how to describe it.
He kind of rocks with how much of a piece of shit he is.
Yeah, I mean, boy, that's a really cool horse he's got, though.
I know he drove them to extinction.
That's not great, but damn, that's sick.
It's more horrific when you take the gas mask off.
Like the teeth on.
Oh, my.
my God. It sure does. Oh, my good.
Holy shit.
God damn. Oh, that's why people were spamming Hammerlock in at me a while back.
Yeah, he looks like Borderlands.
Oh.
He looks very much like Borderlands Hammerlach.
Right. It just dawned on me. Okay. Gotcha.
On his mighty Mount Boner fart.
Is that actually the name of Hammerlock's Mount? Or are you just...
No, it's one of the quests where, like,
They're renaming the one thing.
I forget they call them that for like the mission.
Uh-huh.
It's like the thing they did in Borderlands too as well.
I forget what they ended up calling the thing, but yeah.
Well, there's But stallion.
I do remember but stallion.
Yeah, there's like a, anyway, not that it's important,
but yeah, there's a hunt you go on into and you rename something into like,
I forget what the hell's.
That's what I was referencing.
Oh, yeah.
I thought you were referencing like three.
or four for some reason.
Anyway, it doesn't matter.
We got the joke in the end.
I can never truly tell if Borland's
was a game I liked.
That's not true.
I did like one and two quite a bit.
But like, I can never truly tell if it was
the humor or any of that kind of
poopy poop fart humor.
You know, oh, I'm going to,
I leave my squatter at medieval times type
thing. Or if it's
a lot more related to just like
really good game play and playing
against Cromoraxi Invincible a billion times.
Yeah.
I will say it is a little bit interesting that this amazing model is on, um,
agents to the Imperium, aka not an army.
Oh.
And so,
yeah.
And so like,
obviously you can ally him in and maybe he's really cool,
but that hasn't been great in the past.
So we'll see,
I guess.
Well,
we did also,
we do also get a,
a refresh of inquisda Karamazov,
but not really.
So that's, that was all right.
A nice surprise.
This, this bitch.
What the serving?
Dude, dude, right.
What's the, the, okay.
This is the best thing I've ever seen because this is easily the dumbest thing I've ever seen.
And therefore it fits in sisters perfectly.
I mean, that's, that is kind of dope though.
You just got a, you know, gun platform thrown.
I say this, this is fun, dumb, though.
Like I love it.
Absolutely.
This is this is like the Exorcist tank level of dumb.
The pipe organ missile launcher type level of dumb.
I get behind this level of dumb.
I like this level.
Yeah.
Also, I know you first.
Oh, sorry.
Oh, I, you know, I can picture there's some sister of battle in universe who could explain why everything on this is vital to it functioning.
Well, I mean, naturally, if you take a look at it, right, you have the chair with.
the sermon. You got to read the sermon. The brazier is we don't even need to discuss.
Two heavy bolters and two heavy flamers directly to the side of her is really humorous.
But I will say the piece de resistance of that is if you look at the back, all the chains on the
bottom have like handcuffs in them. So there's a good chance that she's just like dragging
heretics around as she like stomps around.
the battlefield yelling at people.
Fair.
Also, are those missiles directly under the platform, the little red dots?
Yeah, a little missile launcher underneath.
Nice.
Nice.
I love sitting on missile launcher.
I think that they said that this platform kind of helps her, helps her, like,
command, like, penitent engines and mortifiers and stuff.
So my assumption is that she either, like, gets, like, loan up near them or is, like,
leads them.
But it's kind of interesting because they don't mortifies patents and engines normally
more like melee platforms and she has a lot of shooting.
She's obviously going to bong people with the fucking bongy thing, but, you know.
Is that what you do with the bunky thing?
Yes, sir.
Hell yeah, brother.
This is the kind of like the stupidest thing I've ever seen.
I'll take two type situation.
Yep.
Oh, see, I don't even think it was the stupidest.
thing on that stream.
But in a very good way,
we should, before we go to any other,
any other game system, we kind of have to mention
Wazdaka gutsmack or people get very angry.
Because, I mean, he has a model for a start,
which is amazing.
But also, they've done a thing, which is super,
I mean, I really like it.
I think it's really cool.
What they've done with making,
the flames coming out of the back of that like jet booster.
Oh yeah.
They've made it like intentionally stylized cartoonie.
And I love it.
I think it actually looks really,
really good.
If you're going to do that.
It does.
Yeah.
Like if you're going to do that and you're going to do it for a guy who is known for
having a like a motorbike with a rocket booster strapped to the back that he uses to,
you know, ram titans, you've got to do.
something that isn't just we need to make this realistic because it's never going to look
realistic doing it like that doing it super stylized it looks like a like a panel out of a comic
and that rules i i do really like that flame because i feel like in a lot of minis the flames
almost look too like the piece looks too chunky and it doesn't remind me of like a flame it's
just like this chunky like reddish piece and so i kind of like it's like this really sort of
like thin,
stretched out piece for the flames.
It looks good.
A bitch to paint,
sure or shy,
yeah,
but it does look phenomenal.
If you want to,
if you want to play the Hells Angels in 40K,
so you got to put the work in.
I mean,
I mean,
I enjoy especially because it gives another character
to another version of,
um,
orcs.
I mean,
they,
they legends are,
our good boy,
Captain Bad Rock,
those bastards.
Um,
but you've got boss,
Snick grot for the blood axes,
Gaskell for the goffs,
I guess the mad doc grotsnick.
Then you've also got
Mazgrod Skragbag bad, I think,
for the snake bites.
So we didn't have any evil son stuff.
And this will be the first major evil son's character.
And he does kind of rock.
Kind of.
This guy absolutely slaughters.
I know.
I love him and the grot.
I just love them.
They both have like the goggles on as well.
And just,
just,
and also you look at like,
you look at some of the little bits and pieces,
uh,
of,
of their weaponry and stuff.
And it's just like the chain gun on the front.
It's just,
it's so,
it's so orky.
I gotta be honest.
I don't know how I miss the chain gun on the front.
I was looking at the back.
I was like,
what is that belt of shells leading into?
And I was like,
oh,
that's not.
the nose of the thing.
That's just a fucking gun.
I mean, to be, so I'm going to.
Oh, sorry.
Oh, I, oh, I, to be, you know, to be fair.
To be fair, in orc vehicles, the kind of thing that would just have shells, like,
just on the side for fun.
Mm-hmm.
That's true.
They would use the recoil of the shells randomly on the side to, to make the thing go faster.
To do an, to do a proper Akira slide, right?
Well, they have to make sure they do it properly.
Oh, yeah.
100%.
You ride a bike, you got to do the slide.
It's part of passing.
It's part of getting the license, isn't it?
You don't get it unless you can pull that move off.
I think you two sound like someone.
My dad would have scraped off the road when he was a fireman.
Please do not get on a bike ever.
Don't worry.
I will never.
I am too scared.
And also incompetent.
So the grot does go insane though
I really like the grot
He's just like he's just like he's so focused
He's so ready to go
Also little little nice detail
The power claw
Having a
Having a bunch of cable
Underneath it
Because he can fire it at people
And then put it back in
Oh yeah
Oh my God
Oh is that what that is that why
He's got the he's got the
Venom snake arm
Yeah, can you see underneath the power core itself
There's like a big there's like a reel of cables
That's all like wound in I believe I believe that is for
For shooting at people and then grabbing them
I like how I like how it's also just attached to his body
It's just it's just there's a cable that's just shoved into his side
From the power claw
Yeah
It must be kind of hard to rev the the bike with that arm
Yeah
Because you know you just
And then just falls right off
often.
So he's got another arm for it.
True, true.
And a grot.
He's got a grot as well.
He's also an orc.
It's fine.
He's like,
oh yeah,
this is how the boy works.
One arm rev.
Sure.
You know what?
That orc voice is the best
English accent you've done for months.
That's pretty decent.
It's the orc voice.
It's my gift.
Do we want to,
do we want to also address
a fairly large lad
potentially returning.
This is not strictly
Adepticon,
but I feel like it slots in
into the sort of reveal nature of things
because there was an article
about Peter Turbo
and...
Yeah.
Giganto looking.
So I will reign on everyone's parade a little bit.
GW is
known to have their
big battle scene
with the major character
looming over.
So, like, I don't know if he's truly going to be, like,
atropos night-sized.
But, because they did he take a little bit of artistic liberty with it.
That being said, like, dude, he has, like, 17 claws.
I love it.
I love that shit so much.
It looks like a villain from Gundam.
I adore it.
I don't, like, I know a little.
lot of Iron Warrior fans are really
not a big fan the fact
that Piratirabo became a
demon Primarap. But I feel like if they were ever going
to do demon Primark
Per Trobo, he would look like
this, you know?
Yeah. Yeah.
100% yeah.
Less like mutation and more just, well, yes, of course I
added another server on with a gun on it. What else
was I supposed to do? So, sir, you have
18 of them. Yeah.
But I'm 19.
How many imperial fists are there?
More than that.
It's just like, yeah, there's also that one admet guy who's like square up.
He's out here looking like all the random cops and Melgear Rising Revengeant for
internally.
He's like, oh my God, oh my God, I'm going to die.
But his tech priests masters are like, go fight.
him.
You got this little buddy.
Mm-hmm.
If you slow down the advance of the Trader Legions by 0.02 seconds, then we may be able to
escape with the relevant data.
Sends 40 Skatari.
I feel like, but there's also that we've got to actually show off a guy from the box as well.
We've got to talk about the new, the new, the new, the new blood angels.
I'm having difficulty with this.
Dude.
No, no, no.
Actually, you finish your things first before I make a small rant.
I understand that with the launch boxes, it feels like some of them are more aimed towards people in terms of, let's throw nostalgia at people.
Like, they did that with, like, refreshing the Terminators and stuff.
And I was a sucker for that because I was like, well, I love Terminators.
And now they've made them a proper scale and they look better because they're newer.
And that's fine, because that's what I want my terminates to look at.
I've been putting different heads on intercessors since they released the first intercessors.
So when they're showing off the stuff from the Armageddon box, and it's primarily a guy in Mark
X armor with a different helmet, instead of going, oh, that's a neat idea.
I'm like, you already knew Kitbashing existed.
This isn't exciting to me.
This is just like, I've done this.
We've all done this for like 10 years now.
I'm not, I'm just not like, I'm not sitting there going,
I can't wait to see the next space marine thing.
I'm just like, can we skip that and look at the orks?
Because the space marines are going to look like anything else that I or anyone else
who enjoy his kit bashing will have made from the moment they released the first wave of primaries.
And I know that in this situation, that stuff just isn't aimed at me.
But at the same time, I'm like, oh, this is kind of boring.
Yeah, when you were like, oh yeah, look at the new Blood Angel.
I was like, oh, very cool.
And then you showed it and I was like, yep, that's a space Marine, all right?
I mean, technically, because it's the launch box, they're not going to do like full Blood Angels iconography because people want to be able to buy it and turn it into whatever, you know, whatever chapter they want.
So I get that it's painted red, but it's not specifically.
it's not like specifically
Blood Angel because then that just
limits how many people would buy it
but it's also like
you could change the colour of that to anything
and I still wouldn't look at it and go this excites
me because it looks like
what a lot of people have been doing
since day one of this stuff which is just
swapping a head out and
that's just not that interesting for me
but I'm also trying very hard to
acknowledge that it's not for me
in this instance this feels like a box where
it's for newer players as opposed
of people already entrenched.
So that's probably where they're aiming it.
Could be.
Nice interesting.
I'm fighting you in this, Karioth.
I'm fighting you hard on this because I think you're being really nice and I don't want
and I don't like that.
I think it's stupid.
He wants the smoke.
No, I do want, I actually do want the smoke because like to, well, I understand what
you're saying.
I think it has, it carries two particular flaws.
Flaw one is that it feels like this is a particular.
adjustment made to come against the outcry of primaris Marines not looking like the old
school stuff, which was, oh, it looks at watch 10 years ago, which would therefore not be new players,
but in fact, already entrenched people. But new players, like a lot of new players probably don't
have the nostalgia of the pig Darth Vader helmets and are just looking at this like,
this is just an intercessor with a new hat because it is.
And it feels really weird because I'll be honest,
it also feels a little like insulting because the idea that,
oh, but he has a different like leg plate and is wrapping a purity seal around
the gun.
And that makes it worth buying instead of a classic Primaris intercessor kit.
Just feels like the kind of thing of like you people will buy anything.
you know, like you people will get anything.
And also, I was actually kind of crashing out a little bit because when this was revealed,
so many people were like, you know, well, Bricky, not all of us can afford a 3D printer.
And I'm like, dude, you can't be doing this to me right now.
You cannot.
A cursory Google search will allow you to find 9,000 different helmets for 3D printed for a dollar a piece.
per helmet that will let you do whatever you want with all of your
miniatures you you you need to spend a modicum of effort a the tiniest bit of effort to
get exactly what you want instead of buying a whole new kit because it's got the pinky
helmet on it and i like i i can't i can't if it like i was i was looking at the like the
reveal on the official warhammer video and i was looking at the comments and they were all
like, yeah, I'm so happy they brought back the old helmet.
I'm like, I was just saying they're like, are you deleting the comments?
Game's Workshop, are you deleting the comments?
Like, what are you?
Am I, am I crazy?
I felt like I was insane that this was the exciting thing was the Marine with other helmet
because it really is just that.
Nothing.
There's nothing.
They were like, they were like pointing out like, hey, look, look at the like second edition
Armageddon box.
Look at it.
Look at it.
It's just like this.
which like that part I was like that does look kind of cool but I'm looking at like the 10th edition launchbox and and holy hell like yeah the terminators are just the terminators but that was a genuinely interesting upscale of a kit that is a very old kit and a needed change like with the librarian and the captain and like also like even the stern guard veterans you know they they did the old helmets and stuff and they look way better than the intercessor
with helmets. So I don't, I don't know, man. I'm a lot, I'm a bit more a dumerism on that one.
I thought that was just a huge wet fart of a reveal. You could have at least shown us the
cool orc with like the walking turret. Yeah. I think everyone just wants to see that guy.
There's just like, can we have, can we have the exciting one? I think, you know, I think probably
there is, there is a level of like overcorrection that's kind of going on with me where I'm just like,
Yeah, but it's just, it's the easiest kit bash known to man.
Surely everyone's done this.
And then I have to be like, well, not everyone wants to do that.
But then if you wanted this, if you wanted this for this long,
that seeing a guy in Mark X with like a Mark 7 helmet is the most exciting thing in the world,
how have you not gone on eBay and just found some firstborn helmets by this?
Right.
That's why I was like, I was stuck because on one hand,
this feels like a response to intercessor issues 10 years ago
versus like but at that point that's the thing's been solved so
I don't know I'm I'm not so sure it feels like a very odd choice to start with
unrelated but you and poor hammer have ruined that helmet for me I used to look at it like
the cool Darth Vader thing and then the second you guys were like oh yeah that's the
pig snout helmet I was like oh no I see it yeah
Brad ruined it.
Brad in his common nature of shitting on things I love.
Yeah.
He called the piggy helmet and I was like,
shit, man.
And now it hasn't left my vocabulary since.
I forget when they first said it,
but they said,
and I was like, oh, no, I see it.
I can't unsee it.
This helmet is ruined.
I hate it now.
Mind you.
I do like the helmet.
I think it's cooler than the normal helmet.
I like the old school.
Yeah.
It's just not.
It's just not for me.
Not for me, the, um, the, the, the new intercessor as like, yeah, yeah, yeah.
It does, it does feel like, like you people will buy anything kind of thing.
I don't know.
It's just, uh, like at least, if at least if you're making the fire strike servo
turret, at least it looks different.
It's much like the helmet.
that they give the pigs their slop.
God damn.
I mean, ironically, they also showed off an orc, right?
And the orc...
Yeah, like, the orc, the orc looks decent, but then...
It's fine.
Yeah.
It's, I think the weird thing with orcs, though, is that it's a decent refresh to the
Ork Boys, but we already had an Ork Boys refresh.
It's just they did a really bizarrely shit job of it, where the models look good.
but then they put them like mixed in the squad so it's like half sluggers and choppers and half shooters
and so people were like what the hell is this also there's an odd number so you have to buy a bunch of boxes to
actually make full squads of anything but then that means that the poses are super repeated to the point
where they still sell the box of walk boys that like i built an army out of in fucking third edition
So you've got the original, well, not the original, but you've got like the old as hell, you know, or like are sticking out orcs.
Then you've got for sale.
Then you've got the refresh orcs for sale that aren't as popular because they didn't do them properly.
And then you've got the Beast Snacker boys, which are effectively, and if we're being honest, just another orc refresh, but slightly different.
And then now they've gone, and with refreshed Ork Boys again.
I mean, I'm glad orcs are getting stuff, okay?
Orks deserve things.
We love the orcs.
How many goddamn refreshes of the Ork Boys are we going to get in what feels like not that long?
And why didn't you just do it right the first time?
What is this?
What's happening?
And the big selling one being, ah, but they get shooters and shooters and choppers.
Yes.
Yes.
That was the thing I wanted to bring up where I was like, it almost feels like an apology
for the shitty orc refresh because they're like,
okay, well, now what the poses you chose are weird and this and that.
All right, every orc gets a shoota as well as a chopper.
And like, don't get me wrong, from a game perspective, that's great.
Really happy with that because I always felt like the having to choose wasn't particularly orky in that sense.
But, I mean, that's an orc.
What's the other orc with the squig on him?
Because that one's kind of cool.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
The knob?
Like, like, oh.
Like the boss knob looks great.
That gun is the dumbest thing I've ever seen.
That makes it perfect.
It's perfect.
Oh, yeah, I was going to say, it has to be, right?
You can't have a smart-looking orc gun.
It has to be dumb and awful and hell yeah.
Yeah, no, I mean, that's incredible.
And I love the squig on the shoulder.
That's awesome.
Like, the orcs look a hell of a lot better than the Marines do,
and they still aren't a ton.
And hey, if you need that helmet for one of your,
your space marines you can buy this or kit and take it off
and you're right look there's the new helmet right there
there it is you just slap that sucker on your
current ones you're good to go
I agree with shy I want power claw
now oh that's fair
the power claw orcs do usually look really fire
that's that's yeah yeah
now do we uh do we want to do we want to continue
with with models or do you want to shift into
some of the rule changes that they talked about for 40K first.
We only have an hour, Kiriath, and I will spend a while on the rules.
So we want to speed run Sigma and fantasy.
Okay, let's, I mean, I can speed run the sister's one being not the dumbest model,
because I don't think it is the dumbest model.
I think this was the dumbest model.
Yeah.
Oh, man, what do you mean?
That's, that's peak.
I saw this one.
This is peak as hell.
I love Cigars Moving Castle
Yeah, it's peak, but it's also really
dumb
It's incredibly stupid
And I love every single bit of it
It's so good
It's just so good
This screams
I'm going to orcify this into a stomper
Oh yeah
Yeah
It does
They said you can use it in any army
So I'm absolutely covering that thing in rats
Oh no!
You can cover that thing in like
Solblight Gravelord
Maybe like like just a bunch of specters
And in taxmen
It's so good
It's so good
Get a bit of a caradron overlords
You could get some of the
Like the smaller
Like frigger or whatever
The big
What is it?
Is it?
It's ether something in it
ETH, ether gold, ether
Whatever
That's the one
Yeah get the
The canister for that
Stick it on there somewhere
You can turn this into anything.
And the fact that they went, oh, and by the way, yeah, you can't just use it with any and all armies.
It's just, yes, please go out and kit bash the hell out of this because we want everybody to buy one.
And you know what?
I think everybody will.
I do do.
I have very little to say about the cog for in the sense that like everything about the cog for is the coolest thing ever.
You often have less to say about good things than you do bad things because that's just the way the brain.
works.
Yeah.
And like my brain is currently, like, giving me, uh, I show speed smiling with,
my mom is kind of homeless.
I'm just kind of sitting here like, mm-hmm.
Nice.
It's just a 10 out of 10.
No, no.
That's pretty much.
What do you like about it?
Look at it.
What do you mean you want me to explain?
Not to mention they did the whole, like, you can run an army of nothing but, uh, um,
Nothing but cog forts and also
cog for in every army.
Like I will admit, even though they're,
they're serving us piggy slop sometimes,
I do think Games Workshop has become a bit more
uh, kit bash slash magnetization friendly lately.
Um, the main reason I mentioned this is because I was building the
assault terminators recently.
And they specifically were like, hey, cut out all the weapons first.
And it's there a flat placement on all the terminator bodies.
It's like they're begging you to magnetize the things.
It's very interesting.
So, yeah.
It's cool to see that part, even if that part also is just, but he's got a new hat, you know.
They give us and they take it away.
There's also the, uh, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the,
series of sigma stuff just because I was like, that's pure from soft.
Yeah.
It really is.
Isn't there a thing where, like,
people keep smacking his helmet over and over again.
Yeah, the little, the little skeletons with the hammers, they ring the bell that is his helmet, which, I mean, what a stupid detail.
But it is also very fun.
I will say, if ever there was a model where you leave the visor down, this, this is it.
Yeah.
Yeah, it sure is.
the the
aura loss with the visor up is insane
I mean to be fair
The guy looks
Zombie or something?
Completely smacked which is true
But you know
No he's not a zombie
The guys ring the bell
And his head is the bell
So they keep hitting him with the gongs
I get that
But he looks like he might be undead
He's a city of Sigmar guy
He's just malnourished
You look at
undead, no, I'm just hungry.
The food rattles in his mouth. They keep hitting
him. Of course he looks hungry. Every time he eats,
he's clocked at the plate. Dong,
what a weird mini.
I kind of love it.
It's properly weird.
They also did the
not gatebreaker.
That's gatebreaker gargant just from a totally
Oh, no, they made real gatekeepers.
Both of them. Yeah, you put them on the battlefield,
and then you randomly hear the word tourists
like three doors down.
Those are so fucking goofy.
I think I love that.
I think this might have been my favorite reveal.
Welcome to the Soul Sword Luet.
I'm doing, I could take putting one of the,
like one of the shields on the other person's arm.
Like a Dark Souls do, Dord, Bill.
Let's go.
Also, let's not forget the two Gatling Gunners
on top of their body.
Like firing down.
It's ridiculous.
That's crazy.
easy. I love it. So stupid. I love it. They love, they love holding, they love holding the line and holding
the gate so hard. They actively bring the gate to you. So they can hold it. It's such a daft idea.
Are you saying they're holding the door? I nearly said it, but then I didn't. Okay. I didn't want
to see the just checking. Yeah. But you knew. I did know. Yeah, I did know. Yeah, I did know. You're right.
That's all that matters.
And then there were this lot as well, the Free Guild Grenadiers,
who I think have got just the coolest combination of weapons.
You get a big old, you get a big old like two-handed axe,
and then you use it as a stabilizer for your massive gun.
Great idea.
Until I look closer at that, like the blade of the axe kind of just like melded in with the background.
and I was like, oh yeah, he's just got to stand for his gun.
Then you're like, oh, yeah, two-handed axe to hold your gun.
And I was like, oh, my God, that's a fucking axe.
The blade part is like the reticle.
Yeah.
Jesus.
I didn't even notice that.
Phenomenal.
I saw like a flamethrower guy earlier, but I didn't notice that part.
Oh, yeah, the flame.
The flame thrower dude is great.
Complete with a handle so that you can pump more fuel in over his shoulder.
So good. Huge.
Yeah, I feel like of all the, when it comes to the AOS side of things,
CITES of Sigma just got an insane range of very, very cool things.
I feel like them and the Imperial Guard just got so much cool stuff.
Oh, actually, I've just remembered as well.
There was a, we had Horus Heresy, where you can have another version of the,
it was the Spartan, whatever, so just a different,
different type of Spartan.
Hey, eight,
listen,
I know you're,
I know you're burying the lead.
Screw the,
screw the,
screw the,
the little heavy carriers.
Let's get to the Ogrens,
Kariot.
We only got so much time.
We also have a prime bullgring kit bash material or just using them for that.
Because look at him.
Oh, yeah.
Beautiful.
Yeah,
these,
these are the guys.
These are the guys.
These are the lads going down to the pub.
They are going.
I mean,
look at the do on the top right.
He literally.
is like, oh, bro, he's got his fucking knife out and the two teeth going there.
I saw literally this man and nodding him when I was out to go into Warhammer Room.
I was I was downtown nodding him in that place where all the streets converge in a one spot.
And I saw the biggest fucking geyser out there, shirt off, soaking in the sun, missing his front
teeth, football tattoos all across, and a big old pint.
And there he is on his day job.
Keeping the, keeping my emperor safe.
He's ready for the game against Manchester United.
He's gonna be, he's, he's ready.
What a guy.
Crazy.
Oh my God.
It's, it, the, yeah, with the, with the, with the helmet up, it's like average, average
Millwall fan.
And then with the helmet down, it's, uh, it's sci-fi mass murderer.
Like, the difference is insane.
I love the design of the helmets and the rebreathers.
It just makes them look like they are actually, for some reason, kind of psychotic, but I don't know why.
I think it's the tiny, the tiny, like, visors for the eyes.
And then the fact that it's white instead of, you know, melded with the rest of the black metal, makes it a bit skull-like.
It's, you know.
And red eyes always helps you make look, always helps something look like a little sinister and evil when you got glowy red eyes.
Yeah.
Yeah, you know, combining that with a fist that is just a bunch of like buzz sores,
and you've got yourself a proper, you know, sci-fi horror film.
Oh, yeah.
I love the driller arm.
I love that.
That's so cool.
They're great.
They're awesome.
There's also some weapon platforms, which were also fine.
That was another one where I was like, they've, they've, the cool stuff already happened for this lot.
Yeah, you know, happy, happy for you or sad.
that happened, whatever, man.
You know, like, I, I, not,
that was, none of that was really interesting to me.
I, I know there are some folks that they're excited about that,
but you know what, the guard got enough already.
Solar Auxilia got some, got some little,
little forklift guns.
That's cool, I guess.
Those are kind of cool, though.
They're fine.
They're neat.
I don't know.
Yeah.
I dig it.
All right.
What else do we got?
Well, I mean, we,
We should probably mention some of the stuff they talked about for the new edition.
We've already hinted at the lack of circles.
And when I say hinted, I mean, comming.
I was about to say, despaired.
Hinted in one way, you know, blowing my shit, smooth off.
Smooth off.
When I tell a lie.
Earlier I said when that was revealed, it was like I said, anyone checked on Bricky.
The first thing that I said was there, it's like I heard a bunch of 40K merch stores cry out suddenly and then were silenced and then asked whether Ricky was okay.
Because my first thing was, oh boy, I know a lot of people who sell those.
And yeah, so essentially, when you capture objectives in 40K, you stand on a circle, an objective marker.
And it's a very popular way of doing a bit of merchandising and stuff.
And you can, you know, you can get them from Games Workshop or you can get them from your favorite person who does Warhammer stuff.
And there's tons of unique designs and loads of different materials.
And none of that's going to matter soon because they're taking it away.
And instead, it's going to be scenery that you stand on instead.
So, yeah, it's quite a big shift.
Is there a reason that they did the scenery thing instead of just allowing you to have objective markers?
I would assume two reasons.
Reason A would be so that they can make it more narrative focused, which I do believe,
because having the giant circles are sometimes, you know, more narrative looking and sometimes not.
And secondarily, I think it's also because then you can have a little bit of variety in how your objectives look,
having them be rectangles and squares and things like that or whatever it is.
could be a little bit different instead of just all being circles.
And the last one is maybe they can sell more terrain, which is also unsurprising.
Yeah.
That's the Dumerous take.
I love buddy.
Yes, that's the Dumerous take, which may or may not be true.
It's kind of like when people say, like, oh, Games Workshop balances new stuff really, really good so they will sell, which is an objective lie.
just an absolute objective lie
that that's a confirmation bias
extensively but like
you know in this situation
there might very much be yeah to sell more
of terrain
this is the thing as well there's there's lots of
there's lots of really good
scenery and terrain out there that has got nothing
to do as game's workshop
I would argue that a good number of like
there's a good number of
you know just going to my minifactory
people who do you know
STLs like
stuff have more interesting and fun things than Games Workshop have put out for quite some
time. So that side of things, it's probably not necessarily so they can sell stuff because they're
always going to have competition on that front. And if anything, scenery is going to be even harder
to enforce copyright-wise than, you know, like space marines. You can't go, I think you'll find
that that ruined cathedral, we own all ideas of, you know, ruined cathedrals, that even they can't
get away with that.
But yeah, I mean, from what they've said, like with the change to objective markers,
things like the stratageons, you can't stack multiple strategies on single units and stuff.
Great.
They have made, they've made a sort of big deal about wanting it to be a more narrative experience
even when they're doing, even when it comes to like a competitive play.
So that feels like the way they're trying to push it really.
I do like the idea of more narrative play.
That does sound like a good change.
Yeah, I mean, that's a common complaint of 10th edition, is that it lost a lot of the fluff and flavor of 9th, which and 9th had a good bit of fluff and flavor.
Now, some people will be like, oh, man, yeah, ever since 8th edition, the fluff has been going down, I miss my, my blast templates.
And those people, we put in a ditch and we bury them to the net.
I'm guessing you weren't a big fan of this blast template thing.
So, no, the templates are funny.
like they're like fun they're like fun to do but they caused so many arguments and and they slowed the game like back of the day people talked about playing warhammer and like if you played warhammer in seventh edition like that was a sick like a six hour experience like you had to clear your whole day um for things like that and so if you want to have like more traditional war game style stuff like that you can go play horace heresy because that's what most
of that system is.
But, um,
ninth was fine,
I think.
I think ninth was really good with the flavor,
but 10th lost a lot of it,
so hopefully we can go back to that.
Hell yeah.
Maybe if I cope hard enough,
the psychic phase will come back.
I mean,
they gave it to you for thousand sons.
I,
uh,
I play the elves,
sir.
They,
well, maybe you should buy yourself some thousand sons then.
You are right.
That being said, you having three separate psychie disciplines in 9th edition elves was a lot.
That was a lot to deal with.
I miss my three cakes.
Oh, goodness.
Listen, listen, you can come last.
All right.
Eldar and 10th have been disgusting.
Gray nights of the next group.
There's also the, like, just the sheer number of detachments that they're going to apparently launch with.
Or like, there's going to be 70, I believe they said.
Seventy, just about.
70 new and updated.
Yeah, yeah.
So I don't know how many of those are updated, but they also said detachments,
because this was actually an article a little bit afterwards,
where detachments have a point value.
And so it's one, two, or three.
And so you get three points in a 2000 point game.
So if you were to run, like, let's say, Glad,
as task force,
uh,
which is the by far best space marine one,
probably will cost you three points.
Whereas if you were to run say like,
um,
I don't know,
like what's some,
what's some guard ones like,
uh,
I don't know,
hammer of the emperor might be like a two cost one or like a one cost one,
because it's only for certain tanks,
uh,
versus something else.
So it's another balancing effort.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It kind of feels like they're,
they're trying to make it so that you can,
actually make the thing that you want to make
and not be in some way penalized for it
which is one of those things that
it sounds really good in sentiment
but it kind of has to wait to find out how it works
to know whether
yeah
I do like the idea of the change to
the actual objectives themselves
of like what your army is aiming to do
and their things being
like victory conditions and stuff changing
So they've got, there's force dispositions.
So you've got things like taking hold, purge the faux
disruption, reconnaissance and priority assets.
The forced dispositions are supposed to be part of like thematic mission objectives.
So if you're playing world eaters, you don't necessarily want to be doing a whole,
we are going to come and take and hold this thing for the entire game,
because you're world eaters and you want to murder everything in sight,
and that's what your whole army is about.
And so if you're playing that army,
you will have something that reflects what that army is in terms of what's going to get you victory points,
because the whole thing for them is going to be wiping out enemy units, which again, it just feels a bit more narrative.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's a little uncertain, of course, because, you know, what actually occurs when you've got like five different dispositions that therefore have five, you know, they taken hold versus.
purge the foe will have its own mission.
How that will go will be very questionable just because, like, I know out the gate this is going to be fucking bad.
Like, I know the first, the first bit is going to be really rough and certain things are going to be obviously problematic.
But I think with time, it probably will be pretty, could be pretty let the narrowed out.
Also, you know, it helps that with detachments having a cost, you know, if detachments is way too good, you just bring it up one.
you know oh it's a two detachment but yeah we'll make it a three it's too powerful like and that's
that's fine there's definitely a little bit of a um of a question mark there on that i will say one
thing i really liked is oh go ahead pancreas i was you say it's i mean it's i'm more excited
than not because i feel like this is what it's you know something new some interesting
in potential and it could you know lead to cool stuff it's if they flub i feel like it'll be more
a case of like, all right, how do we fix it rather than you've just inherently made something crap, right?
Like, there's room to, yeah.
I fully agree on that one.
There's definitely the ability to be like, okay, we'll make a change here.
I will say, big, they did reveal something not Adepticon, but a bit recently, where
secondaries now do not go away.
So normally, for those of you who don't play much 40K, when you play the game, you, you hold on
the objectives and you get primary points and then you get secondary points by drawing two cards every
term. And there are a lot of times where like, let's say in the first turn, you get an object,
a card that says, you know, kill someone off an objective. And you're like, well, my opponent's
not on any objectives or behind enemy lines. And you're like, well, I can't get behind any
lines. But they've made some changes to make those a little bit easier and sometimes let you
redraw. But sometimes you can still have a dead card. And that really sucks. Now,
they make it so that you never discard your cards,
okay, you don't have a hand size.
So if you draw two bad ones,
you just keep it for the whole match until the end.
And so you could have like six cards in your hand
and score them all on one go.
And so it kind of removes a lot of inherent issues there.
There's, of course, the last two cards in the match,
which can always be a bit of a problem.
But that's a, that's a huge change.
Because pulling like assassinate, turn one,
we have to kill a character and you're going first.
It's just not possible.
He just lose.
He just lose the points.
That is cool.
You just keep them the whole time.
You can do them whenever the hell you want.
Yeah.
That should be handy.
Yeah.
And the change to charge as well.
They've sort of aOS-Fi charge a bit by having it roll and then declare, which is so nice.
So nice.
Yep.
That's, that's, sorry, D.K.
It's okay.
Basically, basically you had to be like, okay, I'm declaring.
a charge against these targets and you have to make it to any of them like if if one's a three inch one's a seven inch if you declare it to both you have to roll a seven now you roll the charged ice and then pick where you go so if you rub the roll you can get somewhere closer or if you do what i have occasionally done which is like bum some kind of crazy charge you're like oh yeah i'm gonna charge these guys three inches away and then i roll like a 12 and i'm like oh i kind of wish i'd
I could go against over there.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And that gives that's,
that's much better then.
That is significantly better.
Yeah, that one, that one is a hell of a lot better.
There's also the fact that they're doing,
they're consolidating the phases where you charge everything and then you pile in every
unit, fight with everything and then consolidate every unit,
which I actually think is, is pretty good.
It gives a little bit more onus also.
on the opposing player.
Because then if you
let's say pile in two units
into one enemy, if you fight with
one of them, they can pull from
one side, which means that you can't
fight as much with the other one.
So it makes the pile phase a little bit more important.
Maybe a bit more interesting.
I don't know.
I know the last, you know, all these rules
talks is coming dangerously close to making me
feeling positive.
Dangerously.
Damn.
We can't have that pancreas.
We can't.
Almost excited for a minute now.
Hang on.
You've almost got me hopeful.
We can't be having that.
Nope.
No, the, but that does seem, that does seem interesting.
There's also, they also did something where like, if you were in a building and you haven't shot yet, you can't be shot outside of 15 inches, something like that.
Oh, yeah.
It was hidden or something?
I think was it like only for turn one?
I don't remember that one too correctly.
But it was something like early on in the game basically, yeah, there's a maximum distance you can be shot from essentially.
It's like, yet you have cover the guy doesn't know you're there kind of deal.
Yeah.
The way they've phrased it in the article is that many units can't be targeted until they themselves have shot or until the enemy is eventually
the enemy is eventually very close, making them less vulnerable to a first turn alpha strike.
So, yeah, it's, again, it feels like, it feels like trying to add,
stopping things from being quite as vulnerable to certain, to certain abilities,
but also if you've got guys that are hiding in a building and they haven't done anything to show
where they are, narratively, it does make more sense that people can't shoot them.
Because how would they know that they're there?
It's, it's like, it kind of does a double purpose in a way.
It also made me crash out again because then everyone in the chat goes ripped towel.
Like, like, as if there's no other context for an entire edition change at all.
Makes me lose my mind a little bit.
Guy who's running nothing but basilisk's crying right now.
Yeah, yeah.
Actually, yeah, you know, fuck that guy actually.
Daniel, you're a piece of shit, Daniel.
You get what you deserve, Daniel.
The guy's an asshole anyways.
But, uh, I, I mean, for the, for the most part, it's, I will say, I am pretty positive.
Every change preview looks good.
The only one that's a little bit iffy is that like hidden rule, but, you know, we have to see that one to be certain.
Was there any other major ones, Kyrioth?
There is, there is being able to, uh, get out of transport straight into combat.
Yeah, but I think you need to.
You need to combat disembark, which means I think you, you, like, lose models on a one and a two.
It's kind of, I don't think it's a good idea, basically.
Doable, just not sensible.
Yeah.
True.
They did, obviously, some of the pre-ors came up, the new defilers, the new custodies.
I, uh, I have a custodie box waiting for me.
Hell yeah.
I'm, dude, I was talking to people about the new custodies when I was at, uh, at WeebCon this last weekend.
They're just, I love the different.
of having space marines be these like bodybuilder,
roided out gorillas.
And then like the custodians look like like Roman athletes.
They look like like like slender, more like endurance, very, very like, like an actual
athlete, like, like, which I think works so much better for their, um, to like differentiate
them.
Because most people who don't know Warhammer are like, are those like just bigger space
Marines. And I think the new
sculpts really help kind of move you
away from that vision.
Yeah, definitely. Also, yeah,
there's,
if anytime something becomes plastic, it's like, yes.
Finally. We're here. Also,
New Yarik and on the subject of Defilers,
I don't have a problem, but I did buy three.
I'm just going to move on from that.
Proud of you, buddy. I bought one.
I bought one, but, you know,
You know, I want to put my money where my mouth is.
And like a lot of these new scopes are awesome.
So I'm buying the new scopes.
The same reason why I'm looking to get two collector boxes of secrets of
Strickhaven and magic while I walk next to the guy with Teenage Moon, Ninja Turtles and Spireman.
I flip them off and piss in his coffee.
Because because edge of eternity or whatever the space version of it was was like the best
magic set in my lifetime
that I've been in the hobbies so
mhm, mm, slaps belly three times
rubs it, mm.
That new defiler looks so sick though.
I can't, I can't say as I blame you for buying three of them.
Yeah.
Well, my first iron worries army, I had two
and I figured the only way to possibly do better
than that is to,
is to do three now that's been
updated.
It wasn't a good army, but it was
fun.
But it was worse.
You better, you better, you better,
hope they don't upgrade them again. You're going to have to get six of them. They are like 250
points each. So I'd be shocked if you run more than two. I have, I am dedicated to making
terrible armies. I'll commit. That's true. I did give you advice on your tank guard army.
And that was a rough one.
What? Two super heavies and nothing else but Lehman Rossi. It's the fact, no, no, see, I didn't
even care with the two super heavies. I cared about
the fact that you had no support
for them and you didn't bring Leontis or anything.
So you were just raw
dogging two bane blades.
No buffs, no
strategies, moisturized
in your lane.
Leontes isn't in a
tank, so I didn't buy you.
Honestly, Kiroz's
pretty base. I'm not going to lie.
That is
the proper way to list build, my man.
But no, I mean, outside of that, oh, oh, okay, one thing, I will never ever in my life assume that I help do this, but I'm going to take a little bit of credit for the hell of it.
Leaders always lead now.
You can't run them solo, unless they're probably like a specific solo character like that.
Oh, yeah.
I have been shouting for that forever because maybe, I don't know if they'll do this, maybe you can then make it so that the leader has a point.
points cost associated with the unit they're leading.
So my 85 fucking point technomancer that could only be good leading wraiths can be 60
points leading immortals and have it be far more understandable.
I pray.
Prage.
Yeah, Prage.
Can we get prages in chat?
Yeah.
Yep.
But yeah.
So I'm really hoping on that one.
Because like the fact that you have an 80 point or whatever space marine tradition.
year leading blade guard is 80 points leading like regular intercessors is insane.
Hell, yeah.
Oh my God.
Okay, fine.
Man, man.
Okay, let me rephrase this.
I was just trying to give you a hand, man.
Let me rephrase this.
It's really weird that like a tank commander can only order certain things and then money points
somewhere else, right, Kyrioth?
Yep.
Thank you.
Agreed.
man you all
thank you
for a move

which
but, you know, probably take a while.
Hang on, you skipped over all the old world releases.
I'm not going to lie.
I forgot that there was Old World.
There wasn't.
No, there wasn't.
There was zero.
Okay.
That's, that is a damning insight as to just how much attention I tend to pay to all the world as a whole.
I genuinely for saying, I was like, I don't remember that.
Oh, poor old world.
Come on.
When the stream died for a bit,
they even,
the guy,
like the guy in charge was like,
all right,
so, you know,
who'd,
she give a cheer for,
you know,
X, you know,
40K,
a OS and people cheered.
And then someone in the crowd yelled old old world.
And he was like,
oh, yeah,
old world.
I was like,
oh.
Oh, no.
This is where I'm at.
This is not bode well for the releases.
No.
It's unfortunate because Kethe was awesome.
I know.
Oh,
yeah, dude.
this is the thing.
I said,
forget it exists and then they'll suddenly go and here's a bunch of
there's a bunch of like really cool stuff and we go oh man that rules oh yeah it's for old
world and then as soon as soon as it's gone as soon as the else cleanse or the dream
finishes i immediately like disassociate whatever the thing was that was shown off from old
world and promptly forget it exists again which is not an endowment on it i don't have time
I barely have time to play like 40k in d and d and age of sigma so
it's not like I'm deliberately trying to, you know, ignore it.
But I don't know.
It just, it has not, that is one thing that has simply not stuck in my brain, which is harsh,
because there's some really cool stuff in it.
40 has become a live service for a lot of people, particularly Marine fans.
And it's already such an extensive hobby that like being like, I can't wait to
play the fantasy they killed before.
It's just not going to happen.
