Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey there, I have some ironic news. As you know, I've been quarantining as a precautionary measure. Today is day 10. As of Saturday morning, March 14th, I have not left my home, despite the fact that I felt perfectly healthy, I have not left home since Saturday, March 14th, other than to go to two doctor's appointments. both of which were time sensitive and both of which required testing that would have made a virtual visit and impossibility. Otherwise, I have not been anywhere. I have not gone to the grocery store. I've not gone to the gym. Of course, I normally work from home anyway. I have not met up with any friends. And thank goodness I chose that out of an abundance of caution because yesterday, my temperament. temperature rose to 102.3 degrees. Now, I do not know whether or not that is related to coronavirus.
Starting point is 00:01:10 I have not been tested. It might just be a fever with extraordinarily bad timing. After all, the fact that coronavirus is going on does not mean that the normal cold and flu and fever magically stops, right? Those also are happening in tandem. So is this just a fever with very, very bad timing or is it COVID-19? I don't know. The state of Nevada does not have adequate testing. Three days ago, the drive-through testing areas in Las Vegas were shut down.
Starting point is 00:01:48 And the governor announced that there is an indefinite backlog, meaning that there are no new testing kits on the way and no word of when any kits may or may not arrive. So I'm, I don't want to take away a test from somebody who needs it more. But yeah, I was not expecting to make this announcement on Monday. I wanted to share that with you for a few reasons. Number one, the normal Monday episode is going to be delayed. We have most of the episode prepared. So it's, you know, most of the episode is, we're 90% there. But before we can get it polished enough to be able to release it as our normal Monday show, I still want to drive it that last 10% home. And that's going to, you know, I couldn't do that with 102.3 degree fever. So the normal Monday episode is probably going to come out on maybe Tuesday or Wednesday. you know, it'll come out basically. First I'm going to rest and I'm going to sleep as long as I need to. And when I have sufficient energy to be able to continue producing, then I'll be back in front of the microphone.
Starting point is 00:03:13 Again, hopefully this is not COVID-19. Hopefully this is just a fever with very bad timing, just comically bad timing. But this certainly underscores the importance of precautionary social distancing and self-quarantining. You know, people, like, everyone in my building, I live in a condo, everybody in my building seemed to think I was like the crazy paranoid person because why on earth was I self-quarantining? after all I feel healthy, right? You know, a lot of, a lot of neighbors made comments like that. They're like, oh, are you feeling sick? No. Well, then why are you not going out?
Starting point is 00:04:09 And man, all I can say is thank God I didn't, you know, because if it is COVID-19, which it may or may not be, then that at a minimum means that, for the last 10 days, I have refrained from spreading it to other people. And that is why self-isolating, even if you feel healthy, is so important. The mindset assume that you have it and that your goal is not to give it to anybody else. Wow, that mindset has never felt more pertinent than it feels right now. So that is my update. The regular Monday show will be available maybe Tuesday or Wednesday.
Starting point is 00:04:58 And I will catch you in that show. Thank you.
