Starting point is 00:00:00 as the article says, sipping rocket fuel are using these tools. And I titled this episode, Claude Poison Dev. Welcome to ADS-P the Podcast, episode 239, recorded on June 19th, 2025. My name is Connor, and today is another short solo episode where I recommend some content on Gen.AI and LLMs. Alright, I'm back, back to back solo episodes. It's the last one, folks. Next week, we will be back to part two of our interview with Jared Hobrock where Bryce and I chatted
Starting point is 00:00:46 with him. It's going to be a four or five part series. Maybe I will edit it down into only two or three parts seeing as we've had two back to back very short episodes. In today's episode though, I want to direct you to a couple more articles. Last week was directing you to some podcasts that were discussing some articles. This week it's another podcast, the Real Python Podcast, episode 253, which primarily focused on some other content.
Starting point is 00:01:17 But in the midst of it, there was like a five or 10 minute discussion that highlighted three different articles that some of you may already have come across. The first one was My AI Skeptic Friends Are All Nuts by Thomas Patachik. I might be pronouncing that wrong if I am. I apologize. Then we had I Think I'm Done Thinking About Gen.AI for Now by Glyph and AI Changes Everything by Armin Roneker. And these are all three interesting reads. And I found it interesting that last week I pointed you at three podcast episodes that
Starting point is 00:01:53 were discussing this stuff. And then right after posting that, I was listening to this Python podcast episode and they were highlighting more content. It seems like there is a flurry of this kind of discussion. Is Gen.ai good? Is it bad? Is it going to change the world? Is it a nothing burger?
Starting point is 00:02:12 I may have not made my opinion clear in the last episode, and I plan on chatting with both Bryce and Ben about this in future episodes when I have more time, but I am in the camp that this is going to change everything. I think actually in my AI skeptic friends are all nuts article, it mentions that GenAI and LLMs are having a bigger impact than phones, but not as big as the internet. It is currently my opinion that GenAI and LLMs are going to be bigger than the internet. I think. Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, as most of you probably know, has taken to saying that
Starting point is 00:02:56 the information age was triggered by the internet in the late 80s, early 90s. And now we are in the age, the intelligence age, thanks to Gen.ai and LLMs. It's completely changed the way that I work. I know it's completely changed the way that a bunch of my coworkers and friends at other companies work. And I highly encourage you to read the My AI Skeptic Friends Are All Nuts because I I don't agree with everything in the article
Starting point is 00:03:27 but it does capture a lot of what I do think in that if you're just using chat GPT online, you're not using a AI assisted IDE and your copy and pasting code back and forth between chat GPT Like that's not the way that the people that are as the article says, sipping rocket fuel are using these tools. And I titled this episode Claude poison dev because at some point in the my AI skeptic friends are on that article, it mentions that even the most severely Claude poisoned senior developers still have control over a ton of aspects, most significantly what gets merged at the end of the day.
Starting point is 00:04:08 So you're constantly reviewing the code that these LLMs are generating. Senior devs aren't just vibe coding and shipping stuff into production for code bases that matter. Anyways, I think I'll leave it there. Be sure to check out these articles if you're like me and you subscribe to Speechify. You can text to speech it and listen to it in audio format. I'm not sure if there's any free versions that you can use out there, but I listen to these articles as podcasts. They're fantastic and expect future discussions between myself and two
Starting point is 00:04:43 co-hosts about this topic and yeah We'll be back to our regularly scheduled programming next week with part two of our interview with Jared Hope rock be sure to check these show notes either in your podcast app or at Adsp the podcast comm for links to anything we mentioned in today's episode as well as a link to a get-up discussion where you can Leave thoughts comments and questions. Thanks for listening. We hope you enjoyed and have a great day.
