Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello, welcome to this episode of Receive. I am your host, Jen DeSasey, and I am looking forward to having a beautiful conversation with you this morning. Maybe it's not morning for you, but it's morning for me. And today what I really want to talk about is feeling safe manifesting more. So something that a lot of my clients and a lot of the people in my community talk about is that when they reach a new level, right, they start to see signs and evidence that they are close to manifesting the thing that they want, right? Maybe they start a new relationship and it's super duper exciting. Or they start to get a lot of opportunities, right? I work with a lot of actresses. They start to get a lot of a lot more roles and a lot more opportunity or you're interviewing for a new job or your business starts to take off, right? There's almost, you can think of it as like the plane beginning to take off and you're at that acceleration point where things are starting to move more quickly. And what can happen is it can trigger a fear. response in our human body, in our humanness, because our soul is wired for expansion.
Starting point is 00:01:07 Your soul is here to grow and evolve and to change and to receive everything, to really expand and to create as much as possible in this lifetime. That's the goal of your soul, is to push and change and grow and push the boundaries. Versus your human aspect, your subconscious mind and your nervous system, is wired for safety. Safety is a huge. huge, huge, huge priority. And for your subconscious mind, it's really kind of the main driver is keeping you safe. And that's awesome, right? We love that about the subconscious mind. We want someone who's always in our corner, always looking out for us to be safe. The problem, okay, the problem is that the subconscious mind associates familiarity with safety. So things that are
Starting point is 00:01:53 familiar, right? Where you currently are, your current job, not being in a relationship or being in a in relationship, right? Those are familiar, not being as successful as you want to be. That is familiar. And so on a certain level, the mind associates it with safety. And so what happens is when we start to enter this quantum leap, where reality starts to change, where we start to see evidence and proof and things really start changing rapidly for us, the survival wiring can get activated and it can start to cause fears and doubts and self-sabotaging behaviors. So it can cause thoughts like, oh my gosh, what if I can't do it? What if I'm judged?
Starting point is 00:02:33 What if I fail? What if people make fun of me? What are they going to think? Right? What if I succeed and I mess it all up? These thoughts can come and it can create anxiety and fear within the nervous system, even on a very, very subtle level. It can cause things like procrastination or overthinking, kind of shrinking back, right?
Starting point is 00:02:54 Have you ever noticed that you'll be barreling towards success? And then you'll put on the brakes. should be like, oh, God. And you may not even notice for months that you've done it. But if you look back, this is probably something you'll identify through your own history in some capacity, because it's very, very human. There's this inner play, right, where our soul is like rocketing towards the things that we want. And our human aspect is staying kind of anchored a little bit in the past. And really, the way that we bridge that desire for expansion, right, the most amazing life that we could possibly create and that desire for safety and groundedness is by creating
Starting point is 00:03:30 safety within our system and by creating coherence or harmony within our system. And that's really what I want to talk to you about today because, and this is something that is multi-layered, right? There's practices and tools that I will give you that you can do on a daily basis, but then there are also deeper fundamental shifts in your consciousness and in your energy that need to be made in order to really embody this sense of safety. So safety really is the bridge between that vision and that reality. Okay. And when your subconscious mind, when your nervous system, when your human aspect begins to leap,
Starting point is 00:04:08 the more that you can create that safety for yourself, the more that your actions are going to flow, the more that you're going to feel less of a desire to sabotage, the more that you're going to allow it to happen and you're going to trust the process. And I do want to briefly just mention that something that happens for a lot of people during this leap phase, right, when you start to get more opportunities, more speaking engagements, more noticing on social media, more job opportunities. What can happen is this imposter syndrome can come up, right? That's one of the most common things that happens as we start to expand because what's happening is you have this old identity, right? And identity is the strongest driving force that drives all of our behavior. You have this old identity of who you used to be, right? And everything that means to you. Then you have this new identity that you're barreling towards. And there can be this disconnect of, wait a second, like, I'm stepping into this next level and I'm becoming this new person, but I've never been there before. Can I do it? I've never done it. Can I really do this? Does that mean I'm really this person if I've
Starting point is 00:05:14 never done it before? And it's going to bring up discomfort. And the reason I want to bring up imposter syndrome is because every single successful person in the entire world has navigated it at some point. And they may not have called an imposter syndrome, but they've navigated shifting from one identity to another because you do not create a new reality, a new experience for yourself unless you shift your identity, right? Tony Robbins says that our identity is the thing that we are going to always want to stay in alignment with. We will do anything to stay in alignment with our identity. So that being true, in order for you to create and manifest that new level, your identity must shift, it must upgrade. And that's normal and that that's natural.
Starting point is 00:06:01 And the residual, I'm thinking of almost like the wake on a boat of that is the imposter syndrome that can come up, right? The I'm not ready, I'm not qualified. Who am I to do this? That is normal and that is natural. And that is because of that tug between the expansion and the safety. And that's honestly the dynamic that the more that you can get comfortable with dancing within that tug, the more you're going to create the life that you've always envisioned for yourself. Okay. And because the truth is that when you learn to rewire your subconscious mind, you learn to rewire your nervous system, you learn to create coherence in your field. And when I say coherence, all I mean is harmony, right? I mean peace, not survival emotions of fear
Starting point is 00:06:45 and anxiety and doubt. I mean these new emotional states. of joy and peace and happiness, regardless of what's happening in your 3D, regardless of what's happening outside of you, because you do have that power, even though it might feel like you don't. With the more that you're able to cultivate those, you are able to see the world in a completely different way. Because what happens is as you shift from more of those survival emotions, those fear emotions, into trust and faith and expansion and joy and love and harmony and oneness, you tap into the infinite field of possibilities. You tap into the quantum field. And that allows you to see the world in a way that you've never seen the world before. Because what's happening right now
Starting point is 00:07:29 is you are literally looking through a peephole. That is your perception of all that is. You can see through a peephole. So maybe you can see like a person and a building, right? You see a very small amount. And what is actually available to you is everything outside of that people. Right. And what happens is as you elevate your emotional state as you elevate your consciousness, honestly, it's one and the same, you will expand that people and you'll be able to see more opportunities and possibilities that are available to you. Because they're available right now. That's the thing. Just because you haven't traveled to Spain doesn't mean that Spain isn't there and available to you. And then you travel to Spain and you know when you travel anywhere new, whether it's a new city or a new restaurant or a new
Starting point is 00:08:13 country, you recognize that it expands your awareness, right? You become aware of things that you've never seen before. New customs, new cultures, new ways of being that you've never seen before. And that's the same journey that you go on as you expand your consciousness, as you expand that people by elevating your vibrational state, by elevating who you are, by elevating your identity. And you begin to see possibilities that you never knew existed. The funniest thing to me is that So many of my clients will come to me and they'll be like, you know, what's wild, Jen, is I got this opportunity, but it's been sitting there for months and I never noticed it, right? This is what has happened to me before. I wanted money for a mastermind, a year-long mastermind that I wanted to do.
Starting point is 00:08:58 And I kept thinking, like, how am I going to get this money? I don't know. Like, right, I got really in my head about it. And then I shifted my consciousness, right? I shifted my emotional state. I let it go. And then I woke up in the morning with this idea of how to get a lot. I got. this money for this mastermind. This was four or five years ago at this point. And I saw things differently and I had the solution almost just like dropping a pebble into water. I knew exactly what to do. I was able to do the mastermind. And the solution had been there all along, but I hadn't seen it through my people. I had to widen my people. So I find out a funny word to keep saying, people. But that's what happens when you elevate your consciousness, when you elevate your emotional state.
Starting point is 00:09:39 And as we go through this journey of expansion, going from the current level to the new expanded level, the way you are going to allow this to be smooth and powerful and easeful for yourself is by being a master of your emotional state, a master of your consciousness and shifting your perspective of the world and not allowing those survival emotions to dominate how you feel. Right. And part of this is your willpower. It is your strength. It is your ability to say, no. I do not want to participate in that thought. I do not want to participate in that emotion. And part of it is rewiring and clearing your system and your field so that way it's easier. There's not as much combat, right? And I've seen this over my journey of working with many, many, many women is that some women will come to me and they will be very deeply in survival emotions. They'll be very deeply in anxiety and fear. And I don't judge them because that's how I used to be. I used to be so anxious.
Starting point is 00:10:40 You would be shocked how anxious I was. I was anxious about whatever you could feel anxious about. I would be like, yes, sign me up, right? And that is where certain people are. And I think we've all kind of been there maybe on our journeys. But in order to move from there to expanded consciousness and high vibrational emotions, where you can see solutions, attract synchronities, attract opportunities to yourself, it's not like, okay, I'm just going to wake up one day and decide it.
Starting point is 00:11:06 Yes, that can happen for some people, right? if you look at Eckert Tolly, that's what happened to him in an instant. It can happen in an instant where your consciousness can shift and your whole experience can shift. But for most people, it's going to be a more gradual process of clearing and healing and shifting, right? And that's what I help people with is no matter where you are on your journey, I help you learn those tools and those strategies so that way you can easily and effortlessly shift your emotions to really vibrate at that frequency. Because honestly, that's when manifestation becomes easy. So what I want to share with you is I want to share two other components to this. That was a
Starting point is 00:11:43 pretty long introduction to what we're going to be getting into, but I think it was really important. So the first thing I really want to share with you is three beliefs that I'd love for you to really anchor into your system to create this safety in yourself as you expand. Because beliefs are the foundation of our consciousness. And our consciousness is everything. It's absolutely everything. The thoughts that you think the beliefs that you hold are everything. They determine your entire reality. And then I want to give you some practical tools to help you navigate the feelings of unsafety, the low vibrational emotions, the survival emotions that can come up as you create that expansion, right? Because it's not a perfect, okay, you hear me say this and then it's easy to do it,
Starting point is 00:12:29 right? It helps to have some tools to guide you along the way. And I will say it's a journey, right? There's some days where I wake up and I'm like, yes, I am, I feel so good. I feel so elevated. And then there's some days where it's more work. And I've been doing this for over 10 years and I still find that. So I share that with you because I don't want you to judge yourself. I don't want you to be mean to yourself. That doesn't help anything. So the first belief that I really want you to anchor in to create this sense of safety is shifting the way that you view fear. Because part of the issue is that as we expand new fears will come up because fears are tied to the unfamiliar, right? The things that we don't know, the things that are uncomfortable. So fear is a natural part of the process. But I don't want you to view
Starting point is 00:13:14 fear as a red light. As a, oh boy, I need to stop. I'm not ready for this. It's uncomfortable. I want you to view fear as a misperception, as an illusion, right? As I'm seeing something here that isn't true because the truth is that if you have full trust in the creator and a higher power, even in your higher self, the more evolved versions of yourself, you remember that nothing real can be threatened. Nothing. Fear, you recognize that fear does not mean that something is wrong. It is not an indicator to stop. It is an indicator to expand and to grow. And my hope is that for you, you start to view fear as what can I push into here in order to grow and expand, right? I hope you start to get excited when you experience fear because it means that you're on to a new level, right? If you
Starting point is 00:14:10 never experience fear, it's because you're staying in your comfort zone. And your comfort zone is nice, but it's not what your dreams are made of. Your dreams are not living in your comfort zone. So recognizing that when you experience fear, recognize that, okay, I'm just perceiving something inaccurately. I can see this in a different way. I can look at this in a new way and it will allow me to move through this more peacefully, more calm, right? And even if you still feel the butterflies, even if you still feel the fear, recognizing that it doesn't mean that anything is wrong. A course in miracles, I love this quote from a course in miracles and it says those who are certain of the outcome can afford to wait and wait without anxiety. And that goes back to having that deep faith, that deep certainty in a higher
Starting point is 00:14:54 power, in a creator, in that energy that creates worlds. Even if it's the quantum field, the infinite field of possibilities, if you're more scientific-minded, it is recognizing that the solutions are always available to you in every single moment. And so when you see something with fear, it can close our perception. It makes that peephole even smaller. And so our goal is to shift how we're viewing fear so we can open up that people, people, and we can see possibilities. And we can recognize that there's nothing wrong here. I just need to change my perception. I just need to look at this differently. Okay. So that's the first belief I really want you to anchor into is that fear is a misperception. It is an illusion. And all it means is that you need to change the way you're looking
Starting point is 00:15:39 at the situation. It doesn't mean anything is wrong. Okay. The second is recognizing that challenges are opportunities. So as you move along your path from point A to point B, where you are to where you want to be, there will be challenges. That's the nature of growth and expansion of your soul, is there are meant to be challenges. Challenges do not mean something is wrong. It does not mean it is not your path. It means that you need to push yourself and you need to face the discomfort in order to grow and expand and to become the person that you need to be in order to access point B. That's it. Discomfort doesn't mean you're failing. It doesn't mean that you're on the wrong path that doesn't mean anything is wrong. It's an indicator that you're on the edge of something
Starting point is 00:16:27 amazing. The more that you are able to anchor in and say, you know what, I choose to face this discomfort. I choose to move through it and I have faith and trust that I will be okay. The more light you are going to reveal, the more that you are going to be able to access wisdom and opportunities and guidance in order to navigate this with power and ease. And there's that, what's that movie, Bruce Almighty. I think it's Bruce Almighty where Morgan Freeman, I think he's playing God. I honestly can't remember. I haven't seen that movie in years. But he talks about how he has this quote and it's like, if you pray for patience, God isn't going to give you patience. He's going to give you an opportunity to practice patience. Right. If you pray for courage, he's not going to give you courage. He's going to
Starting point is 00:17:08 give you opportunities in order to build courage. And that's the same thing along your manifestation path. If you want something, you say, I want to be an actress. I want that job. I want that new relationship. Okay, great. Let's let you become the person you need to be in order to access that. It doesn't mean you're unworthy. It means you need to expand your container, your vessel in order to hold that vision for yourself. So you can kind of think of challenges as like your training ground, right? If you go to the gym, let's see you go to the gym and you're like, oh, I'm going to get such a good workout in. And you go and maybe you have a trainer and you're like, you leave and you're like, dang, I don't really feel like I did that much. Maybe you go to a class and it wasn't as hard
Starting point is 00:17:47 you want it. It doesn't feel great, right? We want that challenge because we want to become more. We all do. Nobody wants everything handed to us. Something that always struck me is at one of Tony Robbins' events, he talked about how he said that the most difficult clients that he's worked with are people who were born with everything. They were given absolutely everything, like all the money, every single thing they could have wanted as children. And he's like, they have a lot of emotional challenges because they wanted to have to earn it. Right. And that kind of. goes back to the Kabbalah concept of bread of shame of on a soul level, we don't want everything handed to us. We want challenge, right? The issue is that if we are unaligned, if we are living in survival
Starting point is 00:18:29 emotions, the challenge can feel way too challenging for us, right? It can feel really pushy and heavy. And that's where these tools and these practices come in. So the third belief. And this is the belief that I am building the vessel to hold all that I desire. And this really dovetails with belief too. So in Kabbalah, they talk a lot about how you are a vessel, right? Your soul is a vessel, and it is designed to hold light. And light is everything that you could want. Fulfillment, love, abundance, joy, whatever it might be. And every single challenge you can think of as it is expanding your vessel so you can hold more. What will happen is this happens a lot with lottery winners, right, where they'll win the lottery and then a year later, two years later, they'll be exactly back to where they
Starting point is 00:19:13 started because they didn't have the vessel to hold that financial wealth, right? It was too much light, too fast. And that's something that we want to expand our vessel to hold more. And there's so much beauty and so much joy in that journey, right? And I think about myself, when I had my supplement business, I started it and I didn't know really anything about business. I didn't know anything about the supplement industry. I didn't know anything about, I knew a little bit about social media, but not as much as I realized I needed to know. And so through that business, I had to grow into the kind of woman who could hold more responsibility, who could hold more visibility, who could hold more abundance.
Starting point is 00:19:53 And it was really expanding my vessel in so many ways, right? Not just business, but financially. Then when I decided I didn't want to do that anymore and I wanted to start my coaching business, it was like a million times easier. My social media grew really fast, the business grew really fast because I had the vessel to hold it, right? I had gone through those challenges. And so that doesn't mean you're going to have to go on the same journey if you decide to start a business, but it means that we all have aspects of our soul that need to grow. And so those challenges, seeing them as opportunities to really expand that vessel. And so as you move
Starting point is 00:20:30 from point A where you are to point B and you start to have more of those synchronicities and those experiences, even when challenges come up, when you view them as opportunities, you're going to be like, the most powerful woman in the room, truthfully. So I want to shift gears a little bit, and I want to talk a bit about practical tools to show your body that you are safe as you expand, right? Because we don't want our body pulling us back and sabotaging us and all of those things, right? We want to continue to expand and to grow. And so one of the big things I really want to talk about is a style of meditation that I personally absolutely love. I really love it. And in my group, we're actually doing one of these meditations this month. But it's a style of meditation where it creates coherence in your brain.
Starting point is 00:21:20 So between the two hemispheres of your brain, it creates synchronicity. So they begin to work together rather than out of sync. And then they also become coherent with your heart. So your entire brain and your heart become coherent. And that you can think of as like the most powerful signal you can send out to the universe to attract synchronicities and opportunities and experiences. And I can't really get into how this meditation works here. There's different, you know, you can search heart coherence meditations on YouTube and you can find some of them. I have some of them in my group. But that, and a really, honestly, a really simple way to do it. And, you know, this is like level A and there's many levels to this. There's much deeper levels. Well, just to be to put your hands on your heart
Starting point is 00:22:03 and focus on your heart space and begin to breathe into your heart space, that will start to create that coherence. Because your heart is actually sending more information to your brain than your brain is sending to your heart, which in my mind, that shows how important the heart is in controlling the energetic signals that we're sending out to the universe. And when we are in fear and when we are in survival emotions, our energy is less in our heart and it's more in our lower energy centers. It's more in those survival centers. And so we have less power to create and to call in the things that we want. So that's one tool I will give you is you can explore deeper meditations in this. I'm not going to get into it today for the sake of time. But that simple one is just placing your hands on your heart
Starting point is 00:22:47 and breathing into your heart and saying things like, I am safe. I am okay. Anchoring yourself into that safety. And there's a lot of different tools we can use to show our nervous system or safety or safe. Another one is just taking really really. really nice, deep, slow breaths, right? And you don't just do this when anxiety or fear comes up. You do this throughout the day because what you're doing is you're creating like a culture of safety within your life. Another one is moving more slowly, talking more slowly, not rushing, not booking things back to back to back to back to back, giving yourself some space in the day. Those are ways you show your body and your mind. You're safe. I'm safe. This is safe, right?
Starting point is 00:23:30 Another way, and I will mention this probably on every single podcast because I feel like it's the cheat code to life is subconscious rewiring work like what we do in my community. Because your subconscious mind is so important in you feeling safe. If you have beliefs and fears and doubts and unresolved trauma in your subconscious mind, that's going to play out outside of your awareness until you become aware of it until you heal it. And so that can show up as fears and doubts and anxieties and feeling triggered all the time or feeling fearful or not being able to go after the things that you want because your subconscious mind is kind of keeping you anchored in the past. Okay. Another aspect of this would be things like nervous system regulation. So that could be like breathwork, eFT tapping, somatic movements, meditation is really good for regulating your nervous system. The breathing that I talked about.
Starting point is 00:24:27 subconscious rewiring even really helps to regulate your nervous system. So those are a lot of ways that you can show your body that you are safe, right? Another one, a really big one is just how you're talking to yourself, right? I think it's really, really important to recognize and begin to notice the questions that you are asking yourself on a daily basis. So something that I notice with a lot of my clients who feel stuck is the questions that they ask themselves are keeping them stuck. Right. So if you want a new job and you keep asking yourself, why can't I get a new job? What's wrong with me? Your brain is designed. It's very, it's going to take that and it's going to start finding reasons why you can't get a job. Why there's things wrong with you? If you ask yourself, why doesn't anyone want to date me? Why is dating so hard? Why do all men suck? That's what you're going to get in your reality. So start to notice your thoughts are literally a series of questions and you answering those questions. It's like an internal conversation. happening all day long. Notice what you're asking yourself because that's probably also sabotaging the level of safety that you feel. So I think I've shared a lot today and I hope that it
Starting point is 00:25:35 came across well because I feel like it was just a rush of information and that just kind of came through me. And I honestly, some of that I didn't even expect to say. But think about it as it's basically three different levels, right? There's a level of creating coherence in your system and your emotions. And there's the level of your beliefs and what you're believing. And then there's the daily tools that you're practicing, right? And the daily things that you're practicing and the daily ways that you're being. And those are all creating safety. So it's not just one quick fix of how do I stop sabotaging myself and fearing moving from A to B.
Starting point is 00:26:11 It's fundamentally shifting how you're showing up. It's fundamentally shifting what you're believing. It's fundamentally shifting your identity and becoming that new version of you and feeling safe doing that. So I hope that you found this incredibly helpful.
