Starting point is 00:00:00 This is a HeadGum Podcast. Welcome to another brand new episode of All Fantasy Everything. The podcast that swerved through traffic like a Jermaine Dupri and Jay-Z song on the way over here. Just giving people the bird left and right. In fact, the podcast that got up early this morning went to Starbucks and got a coffee and got flipped the bird by some dude who, because the line, there's two lines that feed into it. And one of the guys didn't want
Starting point is 00:00:51 to let me in after I let two cars go. And, you know. That podcast. I got in there. So you were in the back part of the Starbucks. I got in there and eventually I looked at the menu and what usually is a bunch of coffee or food related items turned into a
Starting point is 00:01:08 list of all the things that ever have been, ever will be, and ever currently are. And I looked at it. Oh wait, did you walk in backwards? Into the tinny speaker I said I think we could fantasy draft some of this stuff. Tinny. That's why I did it. I got it back
Starting point is 00:01:24 around. Oh, that was great. I brought it back around. Yeah, I was good did it. I got it back around. Oh, that was great. I brought it back around. Yeah. I was good about it. We got there. We are joined in the studio today by Sean Patrick Jordan. Leader of the Crips. Leader of the Crips.
Starting point is 00:01:35 Sioux Falls Crip Grand Doyen. Sioux Falls is having a comedy festival right now, and I did not get invited. How are you? Who's there then? Maybe they're intimidated. Is it Timmy Williams? Is that it? Is it Timmy? I mean, there's? Maybe they're intimidated. Is it Timmy Williams? Is that it? It's Timmy.
Starting point is 00:01:46 I mean, there's a bunch of comics there, but I like... Really? Like our friends? Yeah. Really? I was telling everyone, hit me up,
Starting point is 00:01:52 they're like, what's up with this snow jam thing? And I'm like, go to my hometown for sure. Name four friends who were there. That you would still consider friends if I could look at the list. Okay.
Starting point is 00:02:01 I would know. I can't. Because I don't know anybody there. Yes, you do. I think Naraj is there. Oh, really? Taraji P. Henson? Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 00:02:11 I love her. Taraji P. Henson. She was in my Bank Heist crew. Oh, yeah? She was? I got a lot of flack for it. I just wanted to say flack. The flack, you did catch some flack.
Starting point is 00:02:24 You were up there on your bomber. You caught some flack. The flack was on your bomber and you caught some flack. The flack was based on you thinking she was on the TV show Claws. Sure. It wasn't because you put her... Oh, no. You thought she was Niecy Nash? Oh, no. I blew it really hard.
Starting point is 00:02:35 I don't know why you brought that back up. Well, you haven't introduced me yet. Oh, you have, but you've been talking before. I did an AMA recently. My new thing when I'm responsible and get to an airport early is I'll do an AMA on Twitter. And I try to lean into the anything. Like, I will give you advice on dumb stuff. I'll do that drunk on a plane sometimes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:58 And one of the questions I got was, is All Fantasy Everything going to tour? Oh. They asked you that? Yeah. And I was like, I think it was like you that? Yeah, and I was like, I think it was like, should they tour? And I was like, yes, except Ian works too much. I work.
Starting point is 00:03:09 He's a worker. But having said that, we are getting out on the road. We're going to be at South by Southwest. Nice. And then at least one or two of us are going to be at the Moon Tower Comedy Festival. So if you live in Austin,
Starting point is 00:03:22 great opportunity to come see us twice this year. Come to the South by one. That's going to be the most fun. And sneaky way to swerve around doing both. Yeah, I know. I know. I think they let you do both now. Oh, that's great. Yeah, they relax the restrictions. And I think we're going to be in Denver not until the end of the summer.
Starting point is 00:03:40 Yeah, High Plains is like August. So you can make one of those t-shirts with three dates on the back for this tour. Oh, we should make three. We should make the three-day tour tea. We should do the three-day tour tea. Austin, Denver. It is.
Starting point is 00:03:53 And then, well, for good measure, then I say you throw at least one in here on there also. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like inside the head. We'll sell three tickets to come sit in the studio at HeadGum. That is a good idea. I bet people would bid on that. Put that on up. That would be fun. Maybe they wouldn't. Just sit them right there.
Starting point is 00:04:09 Say, you don't talk. We'll get you a beanbag chair. And get ready because it gets sweaty in here. It's going to be hot. Get ready because it gets sweaty. Did you bring me some LaCroix? That's the shirt. LaCroix. Get ready to get sweaty. And then it's the three tour dates. That's great. I get 10% now. Yeah. Ooh, we're going to have to change it just enough.
Starting point is 00:04:26 What? Yeah, to screw over a female creator. Get ready to get sweaty. Wow, and I thought we were friends. No, I'm just like everyone else in the city. Dang it. Yeah, Jewish. I just got cold.
Starting point is 00:04:39 You're Jewish? 100% bar mitzvah and everything, yeah. Did you know that, David? No, I had no idea. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I play it pretty close to the test. So can you do your section of the Torah? Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:51 Baruch atah, na'el o'cheinu melech haolam. And then a bunch of other ones. I was hoping. You thought we were going to stop you. It was a real game of chess. We're going to get bored. If you guys are listening, Shazam that section. Just get back to us.
Starting point is 00:05:06 Because I'm pretty sure that's like a weekly sort of prayer. No, no, no. That's my Pesach. Can you Shazam the Torah? Oh, I hope so. I hope it comes up with just my picture
Starting point is 00:05:16 as a 13-year-old. Towering over all the other 13-year-olds. With your cargo shorts and your animal shirt on. Well, on this occasion. Not on that day. Not on that occasion. No, I was wearing a vest.
Starting point is 00:05:27 Did you have cool swag for your bar mitzvah? No, nothing was cool about me back then. No commemorative boxer shorts or anything? There were commemorative yarmulkes. Okay. So the kids wore them at all the pool parties. Yeah, yeah, yarmulke pool party. That was it.
Starting point is 00:05:42 It was literally just commemorative yarmulkes that I think the synagogue made. Oh, they make them for you? They do that in-house. That was it. It was literally just commemorative yamakas that I think the synagogue made. Oh, they make them for you? Yeah. They do that in-house. That's good to know. Hell yeah. They got an in-house yamaka guy.
Starting point is 00:05:50 You got a yamaka guy? Got a yamaka guy. Sure. I got a Jameson guy. I might need to hit that up. You got a meat guy since the last time we got together. I got a meat guy. I got a meat guy.
Starting point is 00:05:58 We got to go see him. Is that with two E's or with an A? It's with an A. Okay. I want the double E one too, though. Yeah. I want all the meat guys. Ooh, a meat guy. Yeah. Like a matchmaker. Yeah's with an A. Okay. I want the doubly one too, though. I want all the meat guys. Ooh, a meat guy. Like a matchmaker. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, you want to
Starting point is 00:06:09 meet somebody? I got a guy. Like a chill, masculine version. Right, chill, masculine. I have a matchmaker, but it's someone who makes matches for me. Oh. That's actually called a flinter. Modern life is confusing. Oh, it's a flinter. I'm sorry. It's a flinter. Wait, I have a flinter, but he just like sets up a tourist only to flint. Oh, yeah. I gotta from a flinter. I have a flinter, but he just sets up tours only to Flint, Michigan.
Starting point is 00:06:25 Oh, yeah. I got to bring a bunch of bottled water. It's kind of a bummer. That's a Michigander, actually. It's a Michigander. Oh. See, I'm more into Michigus. I was hoping there was something.
Starting point is 00:06:36 Yes, yes, yes. Stupid is one. Hope no one's still listening. I'm more of a Misha Iceman guy myself. What are we doing here? What are we doing? I feel like Ian looked up the Snowdale Comedy Festival I did look it up, there's nobody I know on it
Starting point is 00:06:49 Except for Timmy Williams Is there really nobody? Nobody I know except for Timmy Williams Oh, Milan Patel That's it, dog Then some guy named White Boy W-H-I-T-E-B-O-I Oh yeah, that's my guy That's your meat named White Boy. W-H-I-T-E-B-O-I. Oh, yeah, that's my guy.
Starting point is 00:07:05 That's your meat guy. White Boy got in. The pupils of my eyes have become hearts. White Boy. I just fell in love based on name only. He's going to have to take your last name because White Boy doesn't have a last name. Oh, well, that's great because that makes him sound real scary. White Boy and Eliza Skinner.
Starting point is 00:07:24 White Boy Skinner. White boy Skinner. White boy Skinner. Whoa. No spoilers, but he is in Black Panther. Oh, wow. Ella Gale is also there. I've heard of her before. Can you imagine?
Starting point is 00:07:38 Oh, boy. White boy Skinner. That's a life. White boy Skinner. One of my new fears is accidentally falling in love with someone horrible. Oh, yeah. That's so bad. I do it all the time.
Starting point is 00:07:48 I do it, but just like authentically horrible. Yeah. I'm upgrading the old picker. There you go. And I'm like, uh-oh. I got a guy for that. You got to get a neat guy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:59 What if I stumble and fall into an arrow for some totally terrible person. All right, dude, who just makes you so happy, though. If you just stay away from DJs, I think you'll be okay. DJs. You are, that is close to the bone, man. Not cool on the pod. No, I didn't know that that was, I just know a lot of girls who've been caught up with DJs.
Starting point is 00:08:18 Yeah, you're looking at one. Really? Why are they so suave? I don't know, man. Ian was there. I've been there for the whole thing. Oh, wow. Yeah, he showed up at one of my shows in a different town one time.
Starting point is 00:08:32 And the joke I did about it was a call and response with the audience. It's like, I say party. You say time. Party. Time. Party. Time. I say don't fuck.
Starting point is 00:08:42 You say DJs. Don't fuck. DJs. Where the fuck were you guys six months ago? That was worth it. That guy sucks. That's what happens. I think I met that guy.
Starting point is 00:08:51 DJs, they just stand up there and take credit for art other people made. In a good suit if they're good at it. In a good suit, yeah. I think there was a time. Listen, though. Sure. I was going to listen to you before you told me what to do. There was a time where DJ was king.
Starting point is 00:09:02 Absolutely. I think it's gone downhill. I think it's crap now. But like, the early 90s, the late 80s, the 70s, like, it's still, the guys who invented hip hop. It was when it had a different definition. That was when DJs were doing more music creation. Now they're called like EDM musicians, I guess.
Starting point is 00:09:18 Yeah, is this guy, does this guy spit vinyl? No. Oh yeah, you gotta get out of there. You think this guy carries things around? Yeah. It used to be harder to find music too, so they were like the plug, but like now. Oh, yeah. You gotta get out of there. You think this guy carries things around? Yeah. It used to be harder to find music, too, so they were like the plug, but like now... I noticed you put your sunglasses
Starting point is 00:09:32 on. Yeah, my eyes are a little sensitive, and I didn't even drink last night. I love it. I did smoke... Oh, wait. Were you bitten by, like, any kind of undead person? Yeah, but like... That will do it. That couldn't have been it, right? You might fear sunlight now.
Starting point is 00:09:47 You smoked a bunch of meats last night. Sorry, I just finished the sentence. I got that new pellet smoker. I did smoke a lot of meats. And I stood directly over it, so a lot of smoke. That's really bad for you. You've got to vape that. I've been vaping meat.
Starting point is 00:10:02 That's funny. Have you seen those vape commercials? Thanks, I should get into comedy. I don't meat. Oh, that's funny. Have you seen those vape commercials? Thanks, I should get into comedy. I don't know. Oh, wow. Yeah. Hey, my name's Rory and I vape. Have you seen those commercials?
Starting point is 00:10:14 No. They're like about teens who vape. Do they have holes in their necks or something? No, I mean, it's a very serious thing, but they're like, you know, I know I'm not supposed to vape, but I do. They have different flavors, cotton candy, butterscotch. Like, I can't
Starting point is 00:10:27 take this seriously. Am I bad? Ooh, should I not be vaping? Sorry. And then I got my girlfriend pregnant and shoplifted a baby. Now I got two kids to take care of. How do they make smoking less cool? All because of vape.
Starting point is 00:10:44 Yeah, that's what the commercial should be. I vape. I could have been a cool kid with cigarettes. But no, I got mixed up in vaping. I fell in with the smart crowd and now I vape. Now it looks like I'm playing a cyberpunk flute every time I smoke. And I really want people to tell me not to use it indoors so I can fight with them. Why are, man, I watch those videos sometimes.
Starting point is 00:11:10 What, like the smoke trick ones? Yeah, sometimes. I wish I could sit here. They're kind of tight. But that's just the trash in me. That's just the trash in me. Couple that with a DJ. I feel like if you're into smoke tricks, get a bubble blower.
Starting point is 00:11:23 Oh, like the Caterpillar in Alice in Wonderland? No, no, just like one of those little, you dip it in, you blow some bubbles. Oh, those kind of bubbles. Somebody's hanging out, blowing some cool smoke rings. Oh, yeah? Oh, yeah? Check this one out. But I want the same tricks.
Starting point is 00:11:36 Like, I want to blow a bubble and then snap on the top and it turns into a heart. Whoa. There are those kind of bubble tricks. You can do like a bubble inside a bubble. You can do like, yeah, there was some guy who did a whole show. I believe it was called Somebody's Bubble Show.
Starting point is 00:11:49 Somebody's Bubble Show. Like off Broadway in New York, yeah. Way off. Bubble Trouble. Yeah. The bubble thing. It was in Brooklyn.
Starting point is 00:11:55 Yeah, exactly. Way off. It was actually in Michigan. It was in Michigan? It was in Brooklyn? Yeah. Eliza's guy booked it. Yep.
Starting point is 00:12:05 Speaking of Eliza, oh, Sean S. Jordan on Twitter. Sean Cougar Mel Jordan on the gram. Anything coming up to plug? This is coming out either today or on Thursday. Oh, this is coming out today. Maybe. And sorry if we missed a week. We get so busy.
Starting point is 00:12:21 Please don't give me shit about it. I was recording my Netflix special. Direct all the shit to me. I was doing nothing. So direct it all to me, and I'll handle it with hearts and fire emojis. Yeah. You will, too. Anything to plug?
Starting point is 00:12:33 No. Sioux Falls, South Dakota with Kyle Kinane. Yuck. March 4th. Yuck. Go there. March 4th into those shows. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:41 May the 4th be with you. March. March the 4th be with you? That's a Han Solo thing. Oh, yeah. March the 4th be with you That's a Han Solo thing Shane thought his name was Hans Solo Shane Torres thought it was Hans God damn it I bring it up so much
Starting point is 00:12:53 But he thought there was an S in the last name also So it wasn't Olo He thought it was Hans Solo He's probably a Hans Olo someplace Who's like I'm so tired of this Everyone makes the same jokes all the time. He's like Hans Ligley. That is a millennium.
Starting point is 00:13:10 I do not have my large friend with a beard. He's not Chewbacca. His name is Hans as well. He's not Chewbacca. You know, my girlfriend, she's always like, I know. And I'm like, I love you too. And she's like, you said it wrong. Too invested, Hans. He's not funny. He's like, I know. And I'm like, I love you too. And she's like, you said it wrong. Too invested, Hans.
Starting point is 00:13:26 He's not as funny as my life. He just DJs to cut loose, you know? Go to those shows. Eliza Skinner's in the house. It's me, me, me, me, me. Returning champion. Add Eliza Skinner on Twitter. Eliza Skinner on Instagram. Nope.
Starting point is 00:13:41 E-Skins on Instagram. E-Skins, that's right. I feel like I should change it. I feel like I'm holding it back, holding myself back, but also I like E-Skins. E-skins on Instagram. E-skins, that's right. I feel like I should change it. I feel like I'm holding it back, holding myself back, but also I like E-skins. E-skins is fun. Don't change your Instagram name. I like E-skins. Is someone with an Instagram name less cool than yours? CoolGuyJokes87. Yep.
Starting point is 00:13:55 You just gotta write it out. You're gonna be my sponsor in this. When it gets rough for me, I'm gonna call you. I got your back. I'm here. David tried 86 other names before he landed on Cool Guy Jokes. That's the crazy part. They didn't flow. It didn't flow until 87.
Starting point is 00:14:10 Cool Guy Jokes. Passenger Cool Guy 57, 87? Yeah, it was Cool Guy Jokes 420, Cool Guy Jokes 69. All the sexy numbers. Cool Guy Jokes 69, 420. And then 87 just. Cool Guy 911, people were like, not fun. They didn't like that.
Starting point is 00:14:25 Not on any school. Yeah, it's a real disaster. Neither the Porsche nor the disaster. The terrorism? Does that not really- A disaster of terrorism. The thing about the Porsche is then I tried Cool Guy Joke's Cayenne. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:35 Still didn't work. Still didn't work. Cool Guy Joke's Boxer was taken by Dustin Diamond. Skins, what do you have coming up? Well, I got a new podcast. Oh, God, that's right! It's called Cool Playlist. You are on an episode that I believe
Starting point is 00:14:54 we're dropping this week. This week? Yeah. I'm on that. Yeah, so listen to it. It's fun. I make a playlist with a guest every episode. I enjoy it. We did Night Flight, right? Yeah, Night Time Flight. Night Time Flight playlist.
Starting point is 00:15:09 Which you came up on it, I think. Because I talked about how you always listen to Style by Taylor Swift. Yeah, every time I take off and land, I always listen to Style. One of my songs was a Taylor Swift song. But no more spoilers. Oh, you can't. All right. That's just enough.
Starting point is 00:15:23 Just a taste. It's really fun. I'll just listen to it and find out. Yeah. Yeah. And it better be style because it's a perfect song. It might be. It doesn't have to be style.
Starting point is 00:15:31 I don't remember. It can be any Tay-Tay joint. She's dank. But yeah, yeah. It's fun. And then we put out the playlist so people can just directly listen to the playlist. Fantastic. So like for hours, if someone's going on a nighttime flight.
Starting point is 00:15:41 Yes. They can download that little playlist and have an experience. Oh, yeah. In the sky. I gave them a whole. I gave them from a getting to the airport to getting off the plane thing. Yeah. They can download that little playlist and have an experience in the sky. Oh yeah. I gave them from a getting to the airport to getting off the plane thing. I like that. With me bringing it down
Starting point is 00:15:51 in between each of your songs. Your songs were nothing. You didn't bring it down. Well, I had a more moody take on the whole. You did have a moody take. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:59 The scenario. Listen to it. Check it out. It's really fun. There's other episodes as well. Any shows people can come see? I'm doing a show on March 11th at the Virgil at 8 o'clock. And I'm doing a new thing with bringing back more of my improvised music that I used to do.
Starting point is 00:16:17 Is it Skinner Box? Skinner Alive. Skinner Alive. I use the name as much as I can. But yeah, so that should be fun. Stand-up and music based on crowd work. That's going to be great. If you're in LA March 11th, make sure you go check that out.
Starting point is 00:16:30 Totes. Also here, David Borey, the young the G is silent. Young the chiselent. Young cool guy jokes 87. Young cool guy jokes 87. Young fresh pair of Jordans. Not fresh, but I just was like, I don't ever wear them. They look crispy clean, dude.
Starting point is 00:16:48 Yeah, I figured I got to take them out. Those are still fresh. Those are the kind of shoes you wear to Phoenix. Yeah, I'm wearing them to Phoenix on the plane tonight after this. I mean, just white Jordans at all, that's a fancy move. It's flex. When you buy them, that's like, I'm going to live this kind of life. Oh, yeah, I moved to Hollywood for a reason. These are, I'm going to live this kind of life. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:05 I moved to Hollywood for a reason. These are the fours? Yeah, these are fours. Yeah, these are Jordan fours. I'm going to trust my instincts. I looked it up, but I knew they were fours. But also, you're wearing pigeon dunks, a very cool shoe. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:15 Very, very cool shoe. I celebrate everything about pigeons, and I got a little pigeon on the outside of my dunks. That was when those first came out. People were getting shot for. They were getting shot for this. Oh, there you go. I might shoot somebody's skin.
Starting point is 00:17:24 What is that, the one? Those are ones. Those are nice ones. Rocking the one-air Jordans? Yeah. They were getting shot for this. Oh, there you go. I'm going to shoot somebody's skin. What is that, the one? Those are ones. Those are nice ones. Rocking the one-air Jordans? Yeah, I can wear the kid sizes. Hell yeah. Oh, you can fit into better shoes. Some of those colorways only come out in kid sizes.
Starting point is 00:17:33 I know. A lot of the really cool ones. I wish I was a girl. Me too. And you guys all noticed that Brian Anderson's on. I'm sure you noticed that, the Brian Anderson. Of course, the Brian Anderson. Are those actually called Brian Andersons?
Starting point is 00:17:43 Yeah, they're Brian Anderson's pro shoe. He's a skateboarder. The first openly gay skateboarder. Alright. Good, good, good. Those are skate shoes? Yep. Huh. Alright then. Sensible. Yeah. Sensible man. Sensible man. I feel like we have the kind of skate shoes that are like, look at me, I'm wearing
Starting point is 00:17:57 skate shoes. Anyway, go ahead. We are gathered here today in the beautiful HeadGum studio in scenic downtown Los Angeles, California. Hell yeah. Right off a skid row. Let's not mention it. Let's not mention it. Everybody do your part to help the houseless. We are drafting movie soundtracks.
Starting point is 00:18:13 Original movie soundtracks, as well as scores, which was a late addition by one Sean... Was it an addition? I was just asking. Scores. I think we were just going to do soundtracks at first, but we'll see. It'll be a good blend. Yeah, we'll see how it goes. It'll be a melange. I think we were just going to do soundtracks at first. But we'll see.
Starting point is 00:18:25 It'll be a good blend. Yeah, we'll see how it goes. It'll be a melange. I didn't want to fly off the handle like David often does and just pick something without approval or anything. You heard me, David. Why are you looking away? Put your shirt on.
Starting point is 00:18:36 My shirt will stay off the whole ride to the airport. I don't know where you got those nunchucks. And I don't know how one of them's on fire. It's crazy. But you need to do something about it. For anybody listening, I'm actually really good. It looks a little loose. We's crazy. You need to do something about it. For anybody listening, I'm actually really good. And the head bandana looks a little loose. We just started.
Starting point is 00:18:48 You know this about me, I'm really good with nunchucks. He is really good with nunchucks. It's impressive. Update your bio in your head about him. Okay, good with nunchucks. Like good emotionally supportive of nunchucks? Yeah, really nice too.
Starting point is 00:18:59 So I feel like the way you're good with kids? He helps them through tough times. They were gonna do drugs and now they didn't because we had a reasonable talk about it. Now I can do them. Do they have novelty nunchucks with lights in them and shit like that?
Starting point is 00:19:12 Two dildos. Here's the thing. You put lights in them, that's a rave toy. Well, that's what I'm saying because I feel like you're just a step away from a rave toy with nunchucks. I've always wanted to see him do it
Starting point is 00:19:24 with sausage links. Oh, that'd be cool. Wait I've always wanted to see him do it with sausage links. Oh, that'd be cool. Wait, did you want to see him wearing a big chef hat while he does it? Oh, I would. Did you want to see him be a huge cartoon dog while he does it? 100%. Dip it in marinara and then do it so it's all over the kitchen. Yeah, get sloppy.
Starting point is 00:19:38 Sausage nunchucks. Sausage. I made some sausage on Super Bowl Sunday. Ian used the slow cooker three different times on Super Bowl Sunday. So wait, one slow cooker three times? Yeah. Yeah. So you used it.
Starting point is 00:19:50 Actually, I made the sausage on the range. I didn't use the slow cooker for that. I used the slow cooker to make meatballs. The meatballs. And the strommy dip. Okay. Slow cooking. Still?
Starting point is 00:20:02 Sweat dripping off your sausage, baby. Yeah. I tried a parody, but I. Slow cooking. No, that was just sausage, baby. I tried a parody, but... Slow cooking. No, that was just a great song. I like that song. I believe it's one of those One Direction fellas. Liam? Liam Payne?
Starting point is 00:20:14 Oh, Slow Hand. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, I'm a Zayn guy. That's a One Direction guy? Yeah. Or was that a Niall song? No shit. Was that Liam or Niall?
Starting point is 00:20:23 I didn't know that. Yeah, because Liam did the one with the rapper man. Oh, come on, Eliza, wake up. Rapperman. Yeah. Rapperman. Yeah, that's my rap name. Rapperman.
Starting point is 00:20:33 Eliza Rapperman. White boy Rapperman. The only rap name you can apply for a mortgage with. Yeah, exactly. I'm a rapper and a lawyer. I'm a lawyer first, though. Eliza Rapperman DDS. So we're drafting original movie soundtracks.
Starting point is 00:20:49 And to do that, to determine the order of that draft, we're going to play a rollicking game of rock, paper, scissors. Played between the three of you. And we go on shoot. Here we go. Rock, paper, scissors, shoot. Ooh, Sean Jordan. Through the unique scissors against two rocks.
Starting point is 00:21:05 Fly through the air like a bird. Word, you heard? Yeah, you heard it. You heard me rap. I stole that from a skate video, by the way. It wasn't even original, right? Sean Jordan, what will be the order of the draft? And before you pick, I need to remind you, this is a serpentine draft. What does that mean? That's a great question. Sort of like,
Starting point is 00:21:22 do you remember that Aaliyah song, Back and Forth? Yes. Kind of like that. You go back, back, forth and forth. So you back and forth now check it? Yeah. So you just kind of go back and then you go forth and then you go back and then you go forth. So like if you pick fourth in the first round, you pick
Starting point is 00:21:37 first in the second round. I mean, I could have said it that way. I have two ways to explain it. Can you apply my goodies to the explanation by Sierra? Oh, my goodies. I'm just kidding. My goodies. Yeah, it's a lot like my goodies to the explanation by Sierra? Oh, my goodies. I'm just kidding. My goodies. Yeah, it's a lot like my goodies. Let's say you have one goodies.
Starting point is 00:21:48 Okay, all right. One goody on the left side of the house. And then one goody in the jar. And you're looking for the goodies. You look on the counter, you look in the jar, you look back on the counter. Let's say you leave your baby daddy to marry a Seattle Seahawks quarterback. A great, a great man as well, though. Who stepped up. A real upgrade.
Starting point is 00:22:06 Who stepped up. What an upgrade for her. Future, love your music. I enjoy you more than I enjoy Russell Wilson, but for Sierra, that was the right move. I'm tired of Sierra getting, well, I could do a whole Sierra Beyonce TED Talk, but she's,
Starting point is 00:22:22 no, just me? We're actually drafting things about Sierra. Do you not like Sierra? I love Sierra, but I feel like every time she's like, I have're actually drafting things about Sierra do you not like Sierra I love Sierra oh but I feel like every time she's like I have an idea Beyonce's like
Starting point is 00:22:29 oh really here let me do it a little bit better and people are like yay Beyonce's version that's what I go through that
Starting point is 00:22:35 with Drake all the time well that's what I always say every time people are like I love this Drake thing I'm like should have seen it when David Borey
Starting point is 00:22:40 did it two years ago that happened to me and John Gielgud every time I do something John Gielgud. Every time I do something, John Gielgud, six months later. What will the order of the draft be, Sean Jordan?
Starting point is 00:22:56 We'll go... Man. I know what he's going to do. We'll go David, Ian, me, Eliza. Oh, I get it. You're scared. You didn't know what he was going to do. I know what he's gonna do. We'll go David, Ian, me, Eliza. Okay. I get it. You're scared. You didn't know what he was gonna do. I did know what he was gonna do. I thought he was gonna try to
Starting point is 00:23:11 ice the kid out. Alright. You're right in the pocket. Alright, I'm first. I don't know why you did that. I did what I did, dude. Alright, you did what you did, but I'm also not gonna do what you think I'm going to do first, which is interesting. Does it put your shirt back on?
Starting point is 00:23:29 Because I'd love it if that was. David had his shirt off. But then I'm not going to get to wear all these shirts. I'll get cold without all your shirts on. David's got a falcon on each arm. He's got a falcon on each arm. The falcons have their shirts off. He shaved them.
Starting point is 00:23:42 I like my falcons like I like my body shirtless. It's weird how they have That little farmer's tan Yeah they have A little farmer's tan One of the The falcons are Rapping clip songs
Starting point is 00:23:51 Yeah One of them is push And one of them's Pre-religion malice Yeah they're called Push and malice Yeah That's what I call
Starting point is 00:23:57 My falcons Push and malice Just walking down Skid Row Nobody fucks with you No Cause I got push And my left malice On my right
Starting point is 00:24:04 Wait Alice Malice on my right. Wait, Alice? Malice, or Alice. M period Alice. Yeah, like Martha Alice. I feel like it's Alice and she's like, he calls me Malice. It makes him happy. My ex-girlfriend Alice is one of the Falcons.
Starting point is 00:24:19 So, here's what I'm going to do for the first soundtrack. And it's, this is so hard on me. But it's so hard on me because I have the one that my heart wants. But then the streets, the first one I got to do just because of, I'm just saying, get your chance. Do your dance at the Space Jam. Whoa!
Starting point is 00:24:44 Space Jam, first pick. Everybody get up. It's time to slam now. We got a real jam going now. Time to do the Space Jam. Hey, you, what you gonna do? That's exactly how it goes. There's also the Monstars anthem,
Starting point is 00:24:58 Him High. There's like four Quad City DJ songs on it. Or Kelly. I was about to say, separate the man from the art, but I believe I can fly. Yes, I know. Especially at the time.
Starting point is 00:25:09 We didn't know at the time. We didn't. But I mean, that was huge. It was everywhere. All he makes are fuck jams and inspirational hymns, and that is one of his two best inspirational hymns. What's his second best, do you think? Oh, I Am the Greatest.
Starting point is 00:25:22 Oh, yeah. The world's greatest. greatest yeah it is so good hit him high it's a great song hit him high it's a great yeah that uh it was such a good like i remember watching that movie in theaters who sang that uh that was a few rappers like coolio buster ron yeah yeah yeah okay uh hello cool jay yeah that was the monster's anthem right yeah yeah yeah but like that beginning sequence in Space Jam where they're singing that, everybody get up,
Starting point is 00:25:48 and it's like the Michael Jordan clips and just like Gatorade in 96. I was just like, because I went and saw that movie when my mom and her friends, I think, saw Set It Off. Oh. And the kids had to see Space Jam. They went to go see Set It Off.
Starting point is 00:26:02 I saw Set It Off instead. Everyone came out of that theater just fucking jazzed up. Yeah, it was something like that it was something where my mom or it might have been waiting to exhale it was one of those
Starting point is 00:26:09 old black lady movies and then the kids old black lady movies when I was seven okay so it's my mom was a very young mom so a 27 year old
Starting point is 00:26:17 she wasn't even 30 but the point is so the grown ups saw that and we saw space jam and yeah it was great yeah yeah set it off
Starting point is 00:26:24 was the same year. Yeah, I think it might have been. I think they saw Set It Off. I saw Set It Off. I never saw Space Jam. I know. You've never seen Space Jam? I know, I really... Still? Yeah. One of my top three Bill Murray movies. I brought that up in my writer's room last year
Starting point is 00:26:39 and one of the writers, Roan, a battle rapper, I was like, yeah, I've never seen it. And everybody's like, what? Sounds like a gladiator. And I was like, yeah, I've never seen it. And everybody's like, what? Sounds like a gladiator. And I was like, yeah, I've never been into basketball. And he was like, it's not about basketball. It's about relationships.
Starting point is 00:26:53 I was like, relationships? Really, it's about relationships? It's about teamwork. Finding your power again. It's about friendship. It's about the true you. That's not a relationship. It's a relationship with yourself.
Starting point is 00:27:04 Well, it's about all these things. It's about all these things. That's not a relationship. It's a relationship with yourself. It's about all these things. Dive in a little deeper. It's about having a song on the soundtrack featuring Biz Marquis and the Spin Doctors. Yeah, that dream team. That's the way I like it. It's about strangely being attracted to a cartoon bunny.
Starting point is 00:27:18 Oh, Lola Bunny. Strangely, very understanding. They drew her for, they knew what they were doing. They knew. they drew her they knew what they were doing yeah I feel like the 90s had tons of well in the 80s too tons of sexy confusing cartoons
Starting point is 00:27:33 she was all so cool and she was so good at basketball like she was better than Bugs, Bugs was kind of wet watch your mouth. I said what I said. And help me with the sale.
Starting point is 00:27:48 Oh, there it is. Both of y'all getting clapped up. I went to the NBA celebrity game yesterday. Hell yeah. Shout out to the front of the podcast, Katie Nolan. Hell yeah. For hooking me up with tickets. And now, if I can be a lecherous individual for just one moment,
Starting point is 00:28:01 life lechery. One of the celebrities is this woman named Rachel Demita who is like a presenter. She does like the NBA 2K TV stuff and is like a model who played Division I college basketball and was wearing the Lola Bunny Jordans. And she was out there cooking everybody. That's so tight.
Starting point is 00:28:19 If her team would have won, she would have gotten MVP. She had like as many points as Quavo and all that stuff. Really? She was killing it. And I developed a massive crush over the course If she would have won, she would have gotten MVP. She had as many points as Quavo and all that stuff. Really? She was killing it. And I developed a massive crush over the course of those four terrible quarters of basketball. Those four 10-minute quarters. Those four 10-minute quarters.
Starting point is 00:28:34 I guess that wasn't lecherous. But yeah, it was just like, she was really pretty. And then on top of it, she was killing it. She was hitting threes. She was hitting NBA threes and fucking like, oh, it was amazing. I started blushing and fanning myself. I do that a lot. Lord, asking other people, is it warm up here?
Starting point is 00:28:53 This lava is wilted. It is like the devil's waiting room. It seems like I haven't met my man. And that's tough because you are. You ball. I ball. I'm out there hitting NBA threes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:05 It's exciting. I find it very exciting when I meet a guy who actually knows about sports and can play that. Because, I mean, how often does that happen? It's so hard to meet a guy who knows about sports. Yeah. So I get it. Yeah. Most of us are so obsessed with our slow cookers.
Starting point is 00:29:18 You and Bogdanovich out there just nailing threes. I went hard Bogdanovich. Pick a Bogdanovich, by the way. Bovan or Bojan. Oh, I was thinking Peter. Oh, Peter or Peter. I was real confused. I was like, with an ascot?
Starting point is 00:29:31 Goran and Zoran. Goran and Zoran Dragic. Brothers. Yep. Yeah, but Bogdan and the other one aren't brothers. Bogdan and Bovan? Anyway, man. I think that Space Jam is an amazing choice
Starting point is 00:29:44 and a great way to kick it off. Chris Rock and Barry White doing a cover of Basketball Jones? Oh, man. I think that Space Jam is an amazing choice and a great way to kick it off. Chris Rock and Barry White doing a cover of Basketball Jones? Oh, yeah. Chris Rock does the breakdown. Yeah. Chris Rock has snuck his way into a lot of good albums. Oh, yeah. He's on Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
Starting point is 00:29:57 Oh, yeah. He's on Judgment Day, T'Kal. Yeah, T'Kal. He's on, yeah. Fucking, that's the move, man. How do you figure out? And when I make a movie, I'm definitely putting
Starting point is 00:30:05 No Sex in the Champagne Room. Gotta have it. It was so funny. It was so funny. Just so you can come back and drive it again. I didn't even get it when that came out.
Starting point is 00:30:12 I wasn't old enough to get it, but I was like, this is funny. That's how I feel about most comedy growing up. I was like, this is in the shape of a joke and I'm into it.
Starting point is 00:30:20 I have no idea what it means, but I'm gonna memorize it and tell everyone. I didn't know what a champagne room was, so that was my... I was like, what the fuck is a champagne room? I figured they didn't want to have to clean in there because it was fancy. That's what I'm sure it was. I mean, if you do it right, any room is a champagne room.
Starting point is 00:30:37 My front porch is a champagne room. Whoa. Wow. I don't think you need a meat guy. I'm my own meat guy the whole time. It was me all along. Flipped it on its ear. Yeah, you know, that's how I do it.
Starting point is 00:30:50 All right, that was my first pick, though. Time for me? Yeah, get it. Time for me? Time for me. Time for me. I don't like doing it. I feel weird when I do it.
Starting point is 00:30:58 I don't feel free to do it. I have not earned it. I can't do it. Everyone feel free when you're in a room with me. I slip into it, and I feel like a shit when I do it. Don't do it unless I'm in the room. But if I'm in the room, please feel free to do it. Well, no, I don't slip into it when you're in a room with me I slip into it and I feel like a shit when I do it don't do it unless I'm in the room but if I'm in the room
Starting point is 00:31:06 well no I don't I don't slip into it when you're not in the room sure oh you do sure you might who knows with my first pick
Starting point is 00:31:14 I am going to take the soundtrack to the motion picture Rushmore sure oh yeah that wasn't even
Starting point is 00:31:22 that didn't even make my list it should have it should have made your list that's fair it's got it's got it's got some Sure. Ooh. Yeah. That didn't even make my list. It should have. It should have made your list, dude. That's fair. It's got some Mark Mothers ball on there, which is one of the movie score gods.
Starting point is 00:31:34 Then it's got Concrete and Clay. You know that song? I might need to hear a little bit. Oh, God. Maybe we can just play it on the podcast. Where it's like, you and me, our purest. Oh, okay. You we can just play it on the podcast. Where it's like, You and me are pure as... Oh, okay. You and me...
Starting point is 00:31:49 Yeah. The ground beneath my feet begins to crumble. My love will never die. That song? I knew you just needed to get into it a little bit. Yeah, I just had to get a little... You don't need to play it on the podcast, no. I was going to say you can play a little bit legally,
Starting point is 00:32:01 but I prefer this. Well, why, yeah. I like you doing it. We've been dipping music into the podcast since Marissa came aboard. Yeah, Marissa's been killing that, by the way. It's so good. It's got songs by The Kinks. It's got Here Comes My Baby by Cat Stevens.
Starting point is 00:32:15 Sure. Which I love that. You know that one. Yeah, yeah. Honestly, I don't like The Kinks. I'm more into the Southern blues version called The Kanks. Oh, The Kanks. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:32:23 I couldn't. The Kanks. Y'all here to see the canks? We're here to see the canks. The canks of comedy. Y'all here to see the canks? You want to see the canks of comedy? I'm going to laugh every time I hear somebody say the kinks.
Starting point is 00:32:36 I'm never going to be able to explain it. It's always going to be the kinks. Y'all like the canks. Hey, Steve, we're going to see the canks. Oh, I love the canks. If I knew you were coming out of bed to kink. They are good. They are good. They are good.
Starting point is 00:32:48 L-O-L-A. Lola. I'm having such a good time. She walks like a woman but talks like a man. Sure, sure. It's got a The Who song on it called A Quick One While He's Away. It's got one thing I fucking love, this weird sultry French song
Starting point is 00:33:03 called Rose Blanche by Yves Montand. Oh yeah. And then they follow the whole... Wes Anderson telling you where he's going to go going forward in soundtracks. 100%. He's a soundtrack fucking, I don't want to, we don't want to talk too much about it. Right. Because there's some other
Starting point is 00:33:19 ones. Because who knows, we got... There's some other ones. And then Ooh La La by The Faces, which is one of my 10 favorite songs of all time. That soundtrack too, that movie flows so well with the music. Yes. It's just so good to watch. Because I feel like a lot of times you watch it and you're like, this music is weird.
Starting point is 00:33:39 Or it just doesn't make sense, that music. It just like, it does. Rushmore flows good. Well, and he's part of this era of directors that are movie fanboys. Yes. And so they've, like every aspect of a movie, they've spent so much time thinking about.
Starting point is 00:33:53 I love that. Yeah, and so it just has a really, it's just well thought out. It's like, for me, I always think of it as the way after you've gone to a hundred weddings and you've been like, okay, I'm never doing that. That I'm going to do, but with a different hemline. And I wouldn't do that.
Starting point is 00:34:10 I would just have pies instead. I'll do that in weddings, but just with the playlists. Yeah. To make it even more specific. Ooh, if I ever come back and you haven't done it. You will. I would love to do wedding playlists. Because I have hard opinions.
Starting point is 00:34:23 Oh, dude. We already did one. The first episode was a goth wedding. Oh, goth wedding? It was me and April opinions. Oh, dude. We already did one. The first episode was a goth wedding. Oh, goth wedding? It was me and April Richardson and I think it was a great playlist.
Starting point is 00:34:31 I haven't listened to it yet but I will. Yeah, it's a treat. I like that podcast. Anyway, keep going. Keep going. Make sure you listen to the podcast.
Starting point is 00:34:38 Cool playlist. Cool playlist. And you definitely will come back and we'll figure out a specific wedding today. Yeah, fun wedding. Or we could pick specific people. My wedding. And you definitely will come back and we'll figure out a specific wedding today. Yeah. Fun wedding. Or we could pick specific people.
Starting point is 00:34:47 My wedding. I'll just wait until I'm getting engaged. And I will pick the songs for your wedding. Fantastic. I like the crap shoot. And Rachel Brosnahan from The Marvelous Mrs. Mays, when we finally get married. It's not this basketball lady? Huh?
Starting point is 00:34:59 It's not going to be the basketball lady? No, no. It's an impossible dream. But the incredibly talented woman who's got a long-term boyfriend from... You're right. That's a better shot.
Starting point is 00:35:10 That's a better shot. I mean, hey, NBA threes. Somebody's got to shoot them. Got to shoot them. Got to shoot them. Fucking Red Mom value. I want you to go home and look in the mirror
Starting point is 00:35:18 and say, I can have anyone I want. All right, Sean. I'll phrase it differently. Well, yeah. I mean, I didn't mean like... I can... How would you phrase it?
Starting point is 00:35:31 When I said it, I was like, Jesus, that sounds insane. It sounds insane. When I said it out loud, I was like, what a lunatic. Well, it depends on what music's playing. If it's Goodbye Horses,
Starting point is 00:35:41 I might have... I can have anyone I want. I could... I can take anyone I want. I deserve get anyone. I can take anyone I want. I deserve to be happy. I know you mean, you sweetheart. I was trying. You are a beautiful man. We love you. Sorry for laughing. No, no. Trust me. I'm thinking about me saying that in the mirror and I look like a lunatic.
Starting point is 00:35:57 I get it. That came out wrong. I played it cool, but I'm going to do it and I'm probably going to cry. Even though no one here told me I should. I haven't been given permission, but I'm going to take it, and I'm probably going to cry. Yeah. Even though no one here told me I should. I haven't been given permission, but I'm going to take it. You can have anyone you want. Oh, my God. Thank you. You can have anyone you want.
Starting point is 00:36:08 And also, it's not your fault. Oh, God. It's not your fault. How do you like them apples? I like them. I like apples. I like most apples. Well, this one, the mealy one's not so much.
Starting point is 00:36:17 I can have any apple I want. Yes. Ending with the ooh-la-la by the Faces. What a fucking song. Yeah. I wish that I knew what I know now. Woo!
Starting point is 00:36:28 When I was younger. God damn. That was my best ever who. That was a good who. I felt really good. I think we have another, that one's gonna get isolated and turn into a text notification.
Starting point is 00:36:39 Like some of your shaklakities. Sean, it's time for your first pick. First pick is gonna be The Bodyguard. Oh! I going to be The Bodyguard. I will be picking The Bodyguard. Whitney Houston murdered that
Starting point is 00:36:52 soundtrack. She had like five number one hits just from that soundtrack. That has to be true. I don't doubt that at all and I always think of it as that one song. Yeah, I mean, well there's I'm Every Woman, Night of the Night or whatever. There was I Will Always Love You. Yeah, I mean, well, there's I'm Every Woman, The Heat of the Night or whatever. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:06 There was I Will Always Love You. There was one other. Is that Shy Guy's song on that? I Have Nothing. I Have Nothing. Yeah, I Have Nothing was on there. And then when her and her sister sang Jesus Loves Me, which it counts. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:22 Is it on the soundtrack or just in the movie? I think it's on this. I think it's a BB. I think it's... It's a B.B. Winan song. Jesus Loves Me. I like Cece. Even if my heart would break. I like The.
Starting point is 00:37:31 The Winan. Yeah, it's just... I like Keenan Ivory Winans. Who doesn't? Lovely Day. But a cover of it. And what's so funny about Peace Loving... Who did the cover of Lovely Day?
Starting point is 00:37:45 Michelle Visage. Wait, Michelle Visage? Yeah. From RuPaul's Drag Race? Wait, what? Wait a minute. No. She was in an R&B group.
Starting point is 00:37:57 Really? Yeah. Probably. I can't imagine there's a ton of... These are two circles. That would be nuts. Oh, man. I think this is a great choice.
Starting point is 00:38:12 I was so worried in picking these. Like, there are all these soundtracks, and I'm like, well, that one song. Sure. I bought a whole album, and I'm listening to that. The reason I picked this, it wasn't the whole thing,
Starting point is 00:38:22 but it was the... Whitney Houston had like five songs that were amazing off that soundtrack. Enough for me to think that it's one of my favorite soundtracks of all time. I still... Those songs come up at work on my YouTube show. We can't download Spotify at work, so I have to have a goddamn YouTube playlist. And they come up randomly, and I just...
Starting point is 00:38:39 I won't even work when they're on. I'm just like, oh, I just get lost. Oh, yeah. I mean, I feel like... I frequently think the phrase in my head, if you want to be my lover, you have to watch as many Whitney Houston Grammy performances as you possibly can.
Starting point is 00:38:51 Last night, we went over to a friend of the podcast, Chris Charpentier's house, and we watched Whitney Houston's television debut. We were watching YouTube videos of people's television debuts. What was it? I think it was Letterman. Because we were watching the Future Islands and the Orwells. I was showing everyone the Orwells video.
Starting point is 00:39:08 Was it I Want to Dance with Somebody? No, I didn't know the song. Huh. What? But it was fucking awesome. Was it just her solo? Yeah, it was just her. Was it How Will I Know?
Starting point is 00:39:19 You don't know the song. How will I know if she really loves me? No, it wasn't like a party. I try to call, but I'm too shy. Can't speak. Thank you. I lost it. Damn it.
Starting point is 00:39:29 It is Michelle Visage. You'll get that right again. It's the same Michelle Visage. What? Yeah. She's on the Bodyguard soundtrack. What? And RuPaul's Drag Race.
Starting point is 00:39:36 What a life. Yeah. What a life. Where's that bio be? I'm getting a face tattoo of this soundtrack. Holy shit. Somebody got to do both of those things in one life? It's Michelle.
Starting point is 00:39:47 In one life? Oh, man. Fuck me. She's somebody I never want to meet because I need to love her from afar. That's how I feel about Cameron. That's how I feel about your falcons. Malice. The way they're looking at you right now.
Starting point is 00:40:02 They say it's malice. Push of talents. Yeah. It's a certain Push of talents. Yeah. Yeah. It's a certain kind of respect. That's, yeah. I can't even look them in the face. No, no.
Starting point is 00:40:12 The falcon is not to be looked in the face. I mean, if they see your eye sparkle, they'll peck it out. That's what birds do. They hate cheer. Yeah. Well, any kind of shiny object. Yeah. My great-grandmother got her eye pecked out by a fighting cock.
Starting point is 00:40:23 Really? Whoa. Out of town. This was in Virginia. Oh, yeah. Down by the river. Was she raising fighting cocks? No, someone else was, and she was like, look at the bird! And it was like, boink! And she was like, that's me now. When you say pecked her eye out, you know what it means.
Starting point is 00:40:35 I don't know that it removed it from her head. It pecked right into it, and that was a wrap on that eye. That's probably my biggest fear. And that was a word from our sponsor. That was a wrap on that eye. I pe That's probably my biggest fear. And that was a word from our sponsor. That was a rap on that eye. I'm acting out my game, cocks. Come on down to the meat guy. The doctor came in and goes, well, that's a rap on your right eye.
Starting point is 00:40:54 Yeah. Yeah. I mean, he probably traveled from down the road. Her great grandmother, the original Lisa Lepta. Lisa left her eye in the beak of a fighting cock. If I remember correctly, that great grandmother also ended up addicted to opium and then she cut a cold turkey when she got pregnant.
Starting point is 00:41:13 She was like, I'm going to have a baby, no more opium for this gal. What were you guys doing in Virginia? Well, I mean, a lot. Was this the 1700s? No, this would have been around the turn of the century, I guess. I think my grandfather was born in the late teens, early 20s.
Starting point is 00:41:32 So around then. I love that. They were southern, kind of rural, but they had a peanut farm. And yeah, all the pictures of them look real sad. That's what I can tell you. It was a sad time. But then again, there are pictures of them and pictures of people with that era.
Starting point is 00:41:51 You had money. Doing okay. Yeah. Everybody looked sad in pictures back then. It's because my stand-up comedy hadn't been invented. Yeah, nobody was hearing the right things yet. That really turned the tide. Netflix special dropping April 17th.
Starting point is 00:42:04 It's not true. It's at some point though. Prohibition in the gospel. You gotta respect a modest stand-up. Yeah. Who's like, keeps himself in check. Just the turn of the century. Yeah, that's all they had was modest stand-ups back then.
Starting point is 00:42:16 Yeah. Simple ground-up farmers. Y'all ever notice the human experience varies from person to person? I haven't. Well. I'm so scared he's gonna make fun of us. We shouldn't have sat in the person. I haven't. Well, get another. I'm so scared he's going to make fun of us. We shouldn't have sat in the front.
Starting point is 00:42:29 Get another discovery. What's. Your brother died from dysentery. What's the deal with not knowing where the sun goes at the end of the day? There's little holes in the sky. I'll be taking my bag of jokes down the river. Tell your friends if you happen to get there faster than I do to come out and see
Starting point is 00:42:52 me at the funny hut. Y'all ever have to beat back a buzzard because it's trying to eat the dead raccoon you fell upon on the side of the road? Oh, I think it's funny because it's true. That got real foghorn like. But I I think it's funny because it's true. That got real foghorn leghorn, but I'm about it.
Starting point is 00:43:07 I'll say. I'll say, I'll say. What was it? Shane, if you're listening to this, Zach came up with a new nickname for you. Oh, man, what was it? Leghorn Fog Slower? Forlorn Leghorn?
Starting point is 00:43:16 Forlorn Leghorn. Because Zach's a dickhead. Zach's a dickhead. Buy Shane's album. Yeah, buy Shane's album. It's called 9.2 on Pitchfork by Ian Carmel. Make sure you go out and buy it. Actually, it's called Originated in 1980.
Starting point is 00:43:33 Established in 1982. I've got to figure out what to name my album. Oh, 9.2 on Pitchfork by Ian Carmel. Okay, yeah, that's great. It's open. 9.3 on Pitchfork. I'm going to maybe Impress Your Girlfriend. Huh?
Starting point is 00:43:43 Impress Your Girlfriend. Oh, that's a good one. Yeah. I'm going to maybe impress your girlfriend. Huh? Impress your girlfriend. Oh, that's a good one. Yeah. I'm going to record one here in June. It's going to be called The Buck Starts Here. Are you really? I love that. You know, I got projects too, guys.
Starting point is 00:43:55 Yeah. I got a good Twitter strong. What's your first pickle? I got a good one. That's great. Good, good, good, good, good. You stood behind me with a boombox before. I did?
Starting point is 00:44:10 On TV? You can do that for my album. Yeah, we can do that. Me and Eliza were on Showtime. No big deal. Yeah, yeah. I've never been on TV. I made up a rap about tacos, which embarrasses me.
Starting point is 00:44:18 That is a big deal, you guys. That is a big deal. It's a real big deal. Stop. Proud of both of you. Thank you. South by. Thanks.
Starting point is 00:44:24 Yeah, it was a special for Showtime's a real big deal. Stop. Proud of both of you. Thank you. South by. Thanks. Yeah, it was a special first time. You know, whatever. Had you not been on television, I'd still be very proud of both of you. Thank you. Thank you. I'm just rooting for both of you so hard. Your successes.
Starting point is 00:44:37 Someday we'll be where you are. It's a sweet taste of success for me, too. Yeah. Every time you guys succeed. I can have anyone I want. All day. For me, too. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:41 Every time you guys succeed. I can have anyone I want. All day. Sounds like you're going to put them in a box. Where can you have them? They'll never leave. In numerous backpacks. Yeah, so is it me now?
Starting point is 00:45:00 Yes. Okay. My first pick is, when I am passionate about any strategic choice, it is Parade by Prince, which is the soundtrack to Under the Cherry Moon. Oh, I'm thinking of Graffiti Bridge. I don't know that soundtrack. Oh, it is. I'm thinking about the Graffiti Bridge soundtrack. It's amazing. So I feel like the obvious choice for the Prince soundtrack is Purple Rain, right? But I feel like Purple Rain is, that's like collected hits. Parade is where he got artsy and interesting.
Starting point is 00:45:34 His whole look changed from all the flounces and shirts and stuff to like he's shirtless on the cover. Or he's wearing, actually, this little crop top. And he's got his hair slicked back, it's all black and white. I like slick haired Prince. This is Slick Haired Prince. This is where we met Slick Haired Prince. Ooh, oh, I've seen that album cover, yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:52 That I think is sexier than Purple Rain. I think so. Yeah, and this is the album that has Kiss on it. Ooh, I do just want your extra time. It's got like really interesting songs and like orchestrations on stuff. It's not what you expect. I feel like Purple Rain is, if he was a standup,
Starting point is 00:46:10 that's his all hits, no misses set where he's in a new town and he gets to just do all his best jokes. God, what a good feeling that is. Well, but Parade is his, I'm getting weird. I'm trying new shit.
Starting point is 00:46:21 I like experimental shit. And I've got a, I've got a whole direction, a whole new direction with what I'm doing here.'ve got I've got a whole direction a whole new direction with what I'm doing here this is like I got a weekend in Portland yeah
Starting point is 00:46:29 yeah when I was when I was a kid growing up I I had a turntable and so most of my albums were cheap dollar albums
Starting point is 00:46:39 that I found in bins or thrift stores and I had one of these that I played so often and left on the turntable don't do that. Especially not if it's in the sun that it warped. So it was like a little, my versions
Starting point is 00:46:50 are a little bit funky. But yeah, like Girls and Boys, Christopher Tracy's Parade, Sometimes It Snows in April is just a beautiful little heartbreaking song. And when Prince died, I got a quote from
Starting point is 00:47:05 Sometimes It Snows in April into Corden's Oh really? Yeah his statement about it. What was the quote? It was Sometimes it seems that life is never ending all good things they say have to pass
Starting point is 00:47:22 all good things they say never last Yeah. Amazing! Bless his heart. have to pass all good things they say never last yeah amazing bless his heart so yeah I I just
Starting point is 00:47:31 I love this album I think it's great and I think it's I haven't heard most I have to admit that like Prince's I mostly just know the hits
Starting point is 00:47:40 I still haven't gone yeah me too I know what a treat for you I know I haven't done the deep dives yet. You lucky boy. You gotta get in there. It really is. Like seriously, open up Spotify, type in Prince. Sorry he's dead now because
Starting point is 00:47:51 he's all over there. And just listen to it all. He does have a deep B-side. Deep B-side. You can just go to the dunk contest tonight and listen to all the Prince. Dunk contest is cancelled. We're just listening to Prince. And all the dunk contest guys are coming over to do it with us.
Starting point is 00:48:07 It's so sexy in such an interesting way, too, because he's got, I mean, he's super sexy, but he also has all these caveats with it with the super religious stuff. Yeah. He's the sexiest Jehovah's Witness of all time. Right? He is sexy.
Starting point is 00:48:21 Yeah, so, and I think it's a super baller move to release a soundtrack and not call it the soundtrack to... That is amazing. Yeah, yeah. Because it was for what movie? Cherry Moon? Under the Cherry Moon. Under the Cherry Moon.
Starting point is 00:48:33 Yeah. And is he in that movie too? Oh, yeah. Forgive my ignorance. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. So he's in that and then he released an album for it but called it something else? Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:48:40 Prolific. Because he was like, what? I need to put that name of the movie on it for you to buy it? Yeah. Come on. I'm Prince. Yes. movie on it for you to buy it Yeah I'm Prince Yes I love this album I don't give a shit if anyone buys it That's my first pick
Starting point is 00:48:53 Do you want me to do my second one now Yes Parade by Prince first pick Just making this whole thing was tough Because as I said there's so many soundtracks That I'm like I love this one song but the rest of said, there's so many soundtracks that I'm like, I love this one song, but the rest of it, and there's so many soundtracks that I'm like, I really want people to know about this, but I don't know if it needs to be on this list.
Starting point is 00:49:12 Well, you know, that's, you know, that's why we got five picks. Yeah. But I could have, I could have picked 25. My list is so long. Yeah. Yeah. Um, so my next one though is going to be the Muppet movie. Oh, hell yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:26 That's just solid. It's fantastic. One of the little rules I made for myself was no stage musicals into movie musicals. Yes. So just for my own list. But this was a movie musical. The songs on it are so great. I mean, it's got Rainbow Connection.
Starting point is 00:49:42 Yes. Come on. But it also has Never Before, Never Again, Moving Right Along. That is good. It's got a Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem song on it. Yeah, can you picture that? That song jams. I mean, both of these,
Starting point is 00:49:55 the last album I picked and this one, if you were getting a mixtape from me, you were definitely getting these songs. When was the last time you made a mixtape? When was the last time I had a tape? 2000? I'm definitely getting these songs. When was the last time you made a mixtape? When was the last time I had a tape? 2000. Do you make people playlists, though? Like in relationships and stuff like that?
Starting point is 00:50:12 No. Oh, I love it. Yeah, well, I mean, I'm real single is my thing. Pew, pew, pew, pew. So single. But I would. I would. Next time you get booed up, make each other playlists.
Starting point is 00:50:24 Hey, I got a whole podcast for it now. You got a whole thing about it. So next time you get booed up make each other playlists hey i got a whole you got a whole thing about it so they the next time i do they'll i'll have to but i really love i'm gonna go back there someday and actually probably my favorite my favorite um is the the magic store it might be a cry trigger i'm gonna talk about it and try not to cry okay um but it's the very end when they all are like in the um i think it's when they all go into the uh the the office to pitch their movie and they're like finally in hollywood because you know that's the whole they're going to hollywood um and it's life's like a movie write your own ending keep believing keep pretending we just done what we set out to do thanks to the lovers
Starting point is 00:51:05 the dreamers and and it's just like all of them singing together and they're like we did it we said we wanted to do this and we did it
Starting point is 00:51:15 look at us and I just I fucking love that I believe they're I believe all the songs are by Paul Williams. Oh, yeah. I'm sure somebody else helped out.
Starting point is 00:51:28 And Kenneth Asher is what it says. Oh, okay. Williams and Asher. That makes sense. Oh, yeah. I'm more of an Asher guy. Yeah. We don't need to talk about that.
Starting point is 00:51:37 1979. Is that really? Uh-huh. The Muppets exist outside of time for me. Yeah. Well, that's the thing. Because these movies, they would re-release them. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:48 Having VCRs and DVDs weren't as big of a thing back then, so you would actually have theater re-releases. So there's a lot of movies that I was like, wait, that didn't come out when I was seven? I would have guessed the Muppet movie was out, yeah, like sometime in the 80s, like in the late 80s. That's what I would have thought. But, I mean, Muppet Caper and Muppet Steak Manhattan were. 80s and 80s, like in the late 80s. That's what I would have thought. Yeah. But I mean, Muppet Caper
Starting point is 00:52:05 and Muppet Steak Manhattan were. 80s and 90s, right? Both 80s, I believe. And today. 80s and 90s. 80s, all the best music of the 80s and 90s
Starting point is 00:52:12 and today. Rainbow Connection, man. Yeah, right? It's wild when a song sung by a puppet can kind of like get your heartstrings going, you know?
Starting point is 00:52:20 And they're also so simple, good songs. There's so many songs now that you like because of the way they're produced, the production. And these are simple, good songs. There's so many songs now that you like because of the way they're produced, the production. And these are just good songs. The bones of them are amazing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:32 A testament to that is the first probably 200 times I heard the Rainbow Connection, it was the pop punk cover of it by Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, where I was like, this fucking goes. I'd never heard the original. And then I finally listened to the original. It was a little slow for me. And then it finally grew on me. Because the other one was like, someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection.
Starting point is 00:52:52 And I was like, fuck yeah, dude. I was hoping you were going to do it. I learned way too much about how to be a lady, a sexy, alluring lady from Miss Piggy. From Miss Piggy. Who's neither a lady nor a human. Oh, DJ! She is sexy and alluring. I feel like she's successful more than sexy,
Starting point is 00:53:15 and I'm okay with that for me, too. Oh, Miss Piggy's trying to have it all. Yeah. She really is. She's one of us. She really is. Oh, Kirby. Yeah, I would listen to this album
Starting point is 00:53:24 and do a lot of lip syncing in the mirror as a child. Excellent. From the Rainbow Connection to the Sioux Falls Connection, Sean Jordan, it's time for your second pick. Second pick is going to be Dazed and Confused. Oh! Good call. It's a good-ass soundtrack.
Starting point is 00:53:42 I prefer the Dazed or Confused soundtrack. I like to get cross-faded. I like to be both dazed and confused at the same time myself. I hit myself in the head with a mallet, and then I get dazed and confused. I'm not a cricket bat. Reference. You are a cartoon dog. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:58 Okay. Yeah. I'm surprised you couldn't tell. What are some of your favorite tracks? Well, it's just like Tuesday you know, Tuesday's Gone, School's Out on there, Stranglehold, I think, is in there. Fucking Cherry Bomb? Yeah. Oh, Cherry Bomb's great.
Starting point is 00:54:11 Cherry Bomb! Paranoid by Black Sabbath, dude. It's one of those, because the whole movie I associate with when I was just learning how to, like, what a Friday night was for me. I was like, oh, now I'm going to watch this movie and have, like, a Friday night. But it was before drinking or anything. We were like 14, so we'd just go skateboarding
Starting point is 00:54:27 until 2 in the morning. All those songs kind of take me back to this fun little part of my life where no partying or anything. I just enjoyed that movie so much. It was also one of the first movies where they didn't give a shit about anything. I was like, look at how fun that...
Starting point is 00:54:43 To be in high school also was something where I was like, look at how fun that that like to be in high school also yeah something where i was like look how fun that would be to be in high school and all those songs kind of take me back to that it does evoke that mood isn't it crazy how you like i wonder if we would have enjoyed that because i like all those songs too and i wonder if i would have liked that music more if i was getting stoned and drinking at that age yeah you wonder like because that the whole movie they're all smoking and we kind of i kind of smoked weed but it was shitty South Dakota. I don't even think we got high, but we smoked a bunch of weed and cigarettes all during that time. I think that movie probably had a lot to do with it, where we're like, let's sneak out
Starting point is 00:55:14 and do this tasty piece of shit. It makes it look fun. Yeah. And you want to hear Paranoid when you're a little bit drunk and a little bit stoned. Yeah. Finish with my woman, cause she couldn't help me with my mind. And like every scene in the movie, a different song sets the scene.
Starting point is 00:55:28 Like whatever they're going to go, like when they go knock down mailboxes, it's a different song. And then Tuesday's Gone is the end of the movie and you're just like, ah, they put a nice little bow on it. Put a little bow on it.
Starting point is 00:55:37 Yeah, it's a great movie. And then it starts, it starts with School's Out. It's like the first big song in there, right? Yeah. I think so, yeah. That sounds right. He's one of those filmmakers too who we were like, I was going to say. Like we're talking with Wes Anderson where he's like the first big song in there right yeah i think so yeah that sounds right he's one of those filmmakers too who we were like i was gonna say like we're talking with wes anderson
Starting point is 00:55:48 where he's like like uh such a fan of movies where you know he was like when i make this movie yeah you know he was like listening to like cds or tapes and being like this song and everything feels so meticulous exactly yeah it's what's funny about a lot of this music is how like we think it was like ubiquitous before the movie came out but sometimes it's the movies that do that
Starting point is 00:56:08 you know what I mean I think a lot of times that really like shoot it back a lot of times I mean some of them might come up later yeah I don't want to
Starting point is 00:56:14 bring it up but there's yeah one specific but hopefully it'll get brought up I'll bring it up god damn it
Starting point is 00:56:20 later the charted 10 years apart or 20 years apart yeah excellent Dazed and Confused. Excellent pick. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:56:26 Thank you. With my second pick, I am going to take The Harder They Come. Oh, shit. Yeah. Oh, shit. That was on my shit. Yes. I love that soundtrack.
Starting point is 00:56:39 I love that movie. It's so fucking good. Ivan. The boy, Ivan. I fucking love that shit. I'm sorry. Now, David. Now, the real David. The real David gotvan! I fucking love that shit. I'm sorry for going over it. Now the real David got here. I fucking love that shit. Jimmy Cliff all up in there.
Starting point is 00:56:51 Just good-ass reggae music. You can get it if you really want it. Man, that's a good fucking song. Rivers of Babylon, which is not Jimmy Cliff. It's the Melodians, but it's still super good. So good. The Harder They Come, of course. You ever see that video of him
Starting point is 00:57:06 just singing it? The one where he's walking by a river? Yeah, yeah, yeah. But then it's like him in the studio and he's like sweating. Oh yeah, pouring down sweat. Oh, fuck, that shit is good. Most of these songs are in skate videos, by the way. Really? Yeah, you guys would be stoked.
Starting point is 00:57:21 Cool, do you skateboard? Fuck you, David. I don't know why I did that. I don't know why I did that. I love you. I could show you these parts. Cool, do you skateboard? Every now and again. Fuck you, David. I don't know why I did that. I don't know why I did that. I love you. I don't know why I did that. I don't know what happened to you. You skateboard in South Dakota?
Starting point is 00:57:31 Why don't you take a long walk off a short pier, boy? I will, and then I'll swim. Wet baby. Pressure Drop. It's got like three of my favorite reggae songs. Pressure Drop is one of my favorite songs, period. Is that also on the Gross Point Blank soundtrack? It might be.
Starting point is 00:57:48 I feel like it's on a bunch. I think the punk cover is on it. Yes. It plays the credits. The last credits. Yeah. That's a pretty good soundtrack, too. Yes.
Starting point is 00:57:57 But the harder they come, I feel that shit in my heart, dude. It's so good. It's so good, yeah. Oh, man. And the movie. Yeah, the movie itself is pretty good, too. It's my favorite Jamaican movie. Yeah. What's your second favorite Jamaican movie? What? My second
Starting point is 00:58:10 favorite Jamaican movie? Shadas. Oh, God damn it. Yeah. I was going to walk out if you said full running. Probably something starring Damien Marley. Is he the junior gong? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Damien junior gong Marley. Because Bob was tough gong yeah yeah yeah Damien junior gong Marley
Starting point is 00:58:25 cause Bob was tough gong right yeah tough gong yeah you know there's that one of the Marley's Rohan Marley went and played
Starting point is 00:58:32 defensive end for the Miami Hurricanes and then married Lauren Hill yeah yeah right after like walked off the field
Starting point is 00:58:39 yeah he won the championship speaking of doing two things in one life those are two things in one life those are two things in one life. Him and Sade Desiree, whatever her name is.
Starting point is 00:58:50 Michelle Visage, there it is. They should get married. I would have even tried to get to. They should get married and then they'll have our new King or Queen. My left driver was listening to Shut Weed. I'd watch it if it was them. Yeah, why not?
Starting point is 00:59:06 Oh man, that was such a good pick Ian thank you that's a great pick oh god this is a good list it's a great if you're like that's
Starting point is 00:59:12 that's something I'll throw on if we're like driving back from the beach not on the way but if we're driving back and we're like been cooking in the sun that cool down
Starting point is 00:59:19 oh yeah maybe got like a light little bit stoned man I can't wait to go to the fucking beach again cruising I was just thinking I was like I want to go to the fucking beach again. Cruising. I was just thinking, I was like, I want to go to the beach. Maybe even this weekend.
Starting point is 00:59:28 Have a goddamn beach here with us. Have a Saturday with us. Yeah, we have Saturdays. Let's do it. Hell yeah. We'll put it on the calendar. Sharpie comes, we'll throw the football around, maybe play catch with a baseball, some frisbee, run into the ocean.
Starting point is 00:59:38 Just have a shippy down here by waves. I love a frizz. I'm busy, I think, is the problem. Fine. It's fine. We don't have enough footballs for you, I think, is the problem. Fine. That's fine. We don't have enough footballs for you anyway. Man, Sean is getting shut down. I can have David.
Starting point is 00:59:51 I'm sorry. Dave Boyd, it's time for your second pick. So this is weird that I'm doing two animated joints back to back. It's not weird. Not weird at all. Own it. It's new. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:00:02 This soundtrack had a huge impact on me. I'm going the goofy movie soundtrack. Whoa. Whoa. Now you're going to have to let me in. I love it so much. I feel like Tevin Campbell should be commemorated for his work. Eye to eye.
Starting point is 01:00:18 Tevin Campbell. Is such a good, like eye to eye. Do you know that song? Tevin Campbell has not gotten his due. He is. Oh, shit. You are so right. He was a beautiful voice.
Starting point is 01:00:32 Quincy Jones just talked about it in that crazy interview. Oh, that's right. From when he was a boy. From when he was a boy. From the Graffiti Bridge soundtrack. Boys in the Hood soundtrack. Boys in the Hood soundtrack. You gotta stop naming soundtracks. Can we talk that song?
Starting point is 01:00:49 soundtrack you gotta stop naming soundtracks that song but i too i uh fucking uh nobody else but you i just i love the goofy movie and i love the music of it so much i just the whole thing tevin campbell a lot of it whoa huge shot what was tevin campbell's uh hit can we talk i mean what he had a didn't you have another one? I thought I was thinking... I thought Can We Talk was the biggest one. I thought I remembered. I brought this up before because it's not Candy Rain. I used to think it was Candy Rain. That was Soul For Real. I'm ready. I just also want to say about the
Starting point is 01:01:16 Goofy Movie soundtrack, not only do I love it, I turned my little brother onto it so it's generational now. That's nice. Also, can I just say right now, shout out to my little brother, just made the national Norwegian gymnastics team. Look at this. Whoa.
Starting point is 01:01:28 Look at this guy. Big chaps. International athletes in the family. Big chaps. I love you, Martin. He might be listening. He might not. What's he doing?
Starting point is 01:01:35 What's his thing? He made it in three events. He's doing floor exercise, the vault one, and then some other thing. If he needs any advice on how to handle the spotlight
Starting point is 01:01:46 of being a nationally recognized gymnast, you can give him my info. You can give him my number, you can give him
Starting point is 01:01:52 my email. He's going to be in Portugal this summer. Oh, I know Portugal. You'll probably run into him because you go there, sometimes you just go there for coffee.
Starting point is 01:02:01 I mean, if he's got Jao Rodrigo as one of the judges, I mean, there's like four or five things I got to warn him about. I bought artisanal gloves there. Huh?
Starting point is 01:02:09 I bought artisanal gloves there. Did you really? Yeah. Do you have them on you right now? No. Why'd you even bring it up then? Sorry. What'd you do in Portugal?
Starting point is 01:02:20 My dad was scouting for a movie, so he brought me with. Yeah, one of the things, they had like a little tiny glove shop where you had to put your hand up and they would put a glove on and you couldn't pull it off by the fingers. They'd be like, no, no, no. And like take it off for you. So they'd like size you for gloves. Really? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:37 And do they just like, are they just perfect? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Do you still have them? No. Oh no. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:44 You deserve to have nice gloves. Thank you. Yeah, what happened? I actually think about have them? No. Oh, no. You deserve to have nice gloves. Thank you. Yeah, what happened? I actually think about going back just for the gloves. Yeah. You could have a little dinner, too. Have us. I moved out of New York in a real rush and sent most of my things to myself through the mail, and one box got lost.
Starting point is 01:03:02 With the gloves. It had the gloves. It also had my old i used to play the marvel role-playing game a lot sure oh yeah well i actually didn't play it i just made characters because no one would play it with me so i had a box with all the sheets for it and all the characters i'd made and i lost that and that bums me out i wonder where that stuff is if anywhere i don't know god i don't know that's what happens when you get traded from the new york next to the los angeles clippers like what happened to you get traded from the New York Knicks to the Los Angeles Clippers.
Starting point is 01:03:26 NBA 3s. Everybody was so upset. I was like, I just got to get there and start working. The season starts today. Basketball's a job just like anything else. People forget that. People think you're just having fun all the time. What is Kevin Campbell doing now?
Starting point is 01:03:41 Nothing? I've made that search time and time again. He's probably within like 20 miles of where we're at right now. I don't know. No? I don't know why it never went for him, but he was like, he just like, the confidence in that Eye to Eye song.
Starting point is 01:03:58 You know what? You know what I mean? Just like, oh, God. But me. And I used to talk to my amazing singer he's an amazing singer yeah i used to talk to my little friend robbie andrews also listened to the podcast when we were little boys and i said that it was a sex lyric and it wasn't because he says because maybe love is the reason why but i thought he said because making love is the reason
Starting point is 01:04:19 first time ever we're seeing it eye to eye. He has aged into a weird looking dude. He was a handsome little kid. It doesn't look good on a man. No. Well, let's just go back to his hits. We don't need to worry about his weird face. Okay, okay, okay. You're right, you're right, you're right.
Starting point is 01:04:34 I just like, just the chorus of just like, if we look into each other's eyes, and fine, we'll never be far apart. And maybe love is the reason why others' eyes, and fine will never be far apart, and maybe love is the reason why for the first time ever we're seeing it eye to eye. And then Max
Starting point is 01:04:53 and Goofy are on stage, cause they snuck in, they weren't even supposed to be there. Goofy's on stage, he doesn't know what to do. Max says, Dad, do the perfect cast! And then it's just like in my heart, man. I just feel it. I love the Goofy movies. I love it. I love it so much. Talk about your third pick.
Starting point is 01:05:10 Third pick. Funny that I referenced it earlier. I didn't reference it earlier, but around the same time period, a lot of my mom's friends blown up over this movie at the time. I'm saying The Waiting to Exhale song.
Starting point is 01:05:24 Oh, yeah. So good. The Shoop song. Why Does It Hurt So Bad? Sitting Up in My Room by a young man. That was on there. Sitting up in my room. Something to think about you.
Starting point is 01:05:38 I'm just gonna mess with a mess. Whatever, we know it. Sitting up in my room. The most important song on that album, Knock on Cry, Mary J. Blige. Yes. I didn't even know what it was, those feelings. But as a boy, in that video where she's got the scarf on
Starting point is 01:05:57 and the big black glasses. Yeah. And she was 11 years of sacrifice. I should have left your ass a thousand times. Oh, David. Oh, God damn, that's good shit. I mean, his soundtrack is nuts. It's so good.
Starting point is 01:06:21 It's got Aretha Franklin, Tony Braxton, TLC, Chaka Khan, Jesse Brandi already? SWV, Patti LaBelle, Faith Evans. CeCe Winans. Come on. They put their foot in it. And when you watch the movie, all those songs go so hard. Only movie about black people I've ever seen set in Arizona. It's just so good. That's a fact.
Starting point is 01:06:41 It's just so. That's a hard fact. That album's so good. And my mom and all her friends when I hear some of those songs I'm like have I ever been in love you know what I mean no
Starting point is 01:06:50 I don't know if I've ever been hurt I don't think I've never been hurt not like that not like that not like Mary J. Blige you've never been hurt have you ever set a pile of clothes on fire
Starting point is 01:06:58 oh my god Angela Bassett she's gonna live forever like I love Angela Bassett I love Angela Bassett the more Angela Bassett the better I love Angela Bassett. I love Angela Bassett. Fuck it. The more Angela Bassett, the better.
Starting point is 01:07:07 I tried to get her in a sketch of Funny or Die one time, and they were like, she's not really that well-known. I was like, I have to go run around the block with my feet just being like a pinwheel. Angela Bassett's not that well-known. She's... Oh, God. Remember when she got her groove back? Listen, we could...
Starting point is 01:07:24 Hey, remember when she was Tina Turner? Oh, my God, I remember when she... Listen, we could have an Angela Bassett draft. What I'm saying... Should we draft Angela Bassett roles? Call an audible. Her on the Master of None episode. Oh, God.
Starting point is 01:07:37 Oh, come on. And now she's in 9-1-1. She's in the new Ryan Murphy joint. The only reason I'm interested. She was in a bunch of American horror stories. Well, Connie Britton's also in it. Connie Britton. Yeah, I don't... Don't you dare. This is in a bunch of American Horror Stories. Well, Connie Britton's also in it. Connie Britton. Yeah, I don't...
Starting point is 01:07:46 Don't you dare. I love Connie Britton. This is an away game for you right now. I love Connie Britton, but she's not, like, she's not gonna make me watch it.
Starting point is 01:07:54 It doesn't look interesting to me. All right. Okay. I have no feelings left to right. You don't have to. You don't have to like
Starting point is 01:08:01 Connie Britton. Hey, I'm just gonna hate Connie Britton. It's okay. I'm not watching Bloodlines either. All right. You know what? You don't't like anything Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton do for the rest of their life. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:08:10 I wish them well. I have no notes. I don't want to be a shit here. I don't want to be a dickhead. Then don't. I'm going to squash this beef right now. I don't want it. The beef is squashed. Waiting to exhale. Squashed. All right. I'm going to squash this beef right now. I don't want it. The beef is squashed.
Starting point is 01:08:26 Waiting to exhale. Squashed. Fantastic movie. We're all waiting to exhale. Better soundtrack. Like Ian said, you listen to that. Maybe you have never been hurt. That's a good.
Starting point is 01:08:35 That is such a good point. I mean, you have. Nicole! But for me, it's like, I don't know. Why'd you bring it up? 11 years! I can't do it like you because I've never been hurt. Oh, God. Yeah, that shit. She hurt me. Yeah, you're right. do it like you because I've never been hurt. Oh, God.
Starting point is 01:08:45 Yeah, that shit. She hurt me. Yeah, you're right. I have been in love. I have to now make my third pick and I'm going to take something that wasn't
Starting point is 01:08:53 even on my list originally until you mentioned animated movies. See, I like this. And I was like, what the fuck am I even doing? I'm taking The Lion King original soundtrack.
Starting point is 01:09:01 I was going to take it from you. I knew you were going to So many bangers. Starts with a circle of life. Starts with Original soundtrack. I was going to take it from you. I knew you were going to take it. Some of that Elty John. So many bangers. Starts with a circle of life. Starts with... Elton John all over this motherfucker. Hans Zimmer all over this motherfucker.
Starting point is 01:09:22 Original songs, too. How do we get this far without any Hans Zimmer? I don't know, because we're not doing scores so much. Yeah, it's true. Those are what the later picks, I think, I might. I just can't wait to be king. Oh, man. Hakuna Matata?
Starting point is 01:09:36 Hakuna Matata's amazing. Can you feel the love tonight? Can you feel the love tonight? I love when Timon and Pumbaa get in there. Oh, my God. If he falls in love tonight. I love when Timon and Pumbaa get in there. Oh my God. If he falls in love tonight. I love it.
Starting point is 01:09:50 You know what I love on that soundtrack? Be prepared. Oh, I love Be Prepared. Ooh, I love Scar. Be prepared. Is that you who wants Scar to be the main?
Starting point is 01:09:58 Who is it? That's probably me. Is it you? That's probably me. Somebody said they wanted Scar to win. Like they wanted Scar to end up being king.
Starting point is 01:10:04 Oh no, that might be Zack. Fucking psycho. Oh yeah, that sounds like Zack. What? He just wants to live alone. Just up on a mountain. Free weights for 10 hours thinking about Scar. No, that's such a great.
Starting point is 01:10:17 I've had those nights. That is like, you could just listen to that. I might listen to that on the plane tonight. See, and I feel like that pays tribute also to the whole school of 90s and aughts Disney musicals. Yes, it does. Because there's so many good ones. There were others I could have picked.
Starting point is 01:10:35 This, I think, is my favorite one, though. You could draft only Disney musicals. That would be actually a three-person fun draft. I'll come back. Yeah. All right. But, or not. Fine. No, no, no. I said we're going to hold it. Yeah. All right. We'll catch up. But, or not. Fine.
Starting point is 01:10:46 No, no, no. I said we're going to long to have you back. Oh, hell yeah. Yeah, please. That voice is very misleading. It is misleading. Yeah, sure. All right.
Starting point is 01:10:53 Thank you. All right. Yeah. And that kind of began, I believe, Elton John's foray into musicals in general. I think so. Because then he did his Aida after that. Also, they started folding in pop singers. Phil Collins did Tarzan.
Starting point is 01:11:13 There were a couple good songs. I mean, the song is more popular than the movie. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah. I mean, Tarzan was on my list. That's fine. No.
Starting point is 01:11:24 But it's also because I like when somebody does an entire soundtrack. Yeah. I love that. That's true, that is fun. And yeah, Elton didn't do this one all by himself, but. But listen, Elton. He's all over it.
Starting point is 01:11:35 When he did, the wheel of fortune. Oh my God. Can you feel the love tonight? I fucking can. I feel it right in my heart. You maybe thought Elton John was here in the room. It was not. He's not here.
Starting point is 01:11:51 He was not here. It's just fucking fantastic. I love it. I saw The Lion King on Broadway with St. Sue Carmel. Saw The Lion King on Broadway. Lion King on Broadway. In San Francisco. And we had a great old time.
Starting point is 01:12:05 Sure. And they even threw in some other songs that I wasn't that interested in. It was still really fun. Yeah, they had to flesh it out. Yeah, they had to flesh it out. They threw in songs that weren't canon. Yep. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:12:14 Canon. They always do that. With my canon. Oh, I've never seen a play. I'm a Cretan. Oh, they usually do. I think they always do. They also did a Mary Poppins version.
Starting point is 01:12:25 Carmen? Carmen, yeah. Yeah, the hip-hopper. Carmen the hip-hopper. But I saw it on TV. With MacGyver. Yes. Is that who's in it?
Starting point is 01:12:33 Yeah, that's his name. Well, I just always wanted to know. Also Lil Bow Wow, Jermaine Dupri. There's a bunch of people in there. Jermaine Dupri's in there? Yeah, there's a bunch. Just in the jail scene with Lil Bow Wow. It's that.
Starting point is 01:12:44 Listen, I don't want to talk about Carmen. Lion King gets me hyped. There's a, some dude, this guy DJ Do You, who does mashups online, has a song called Stunt Like Mufasa. Whoa. Where he mashes up Lil Wayne's Stunt Like My Daddy with the Circle of Life song, but like the big beginning of it, you know? It's amazing. It's so good. I like it.
Starting point is 01:13:08 You mentioned people who do full soundtracks, which again, I have to just, aside from Paul Williams, very good at it, did the Muppet movie, also did the movie that I'm wearing a shirt from, Phantom of the Paradise,
Starting point is 01:13:21 and Bugsy Malone. But my question for you guys, side question, can I do that? Am I allowed to? Yes! Who would you want to see do a full movie soundtrack? Who do you think? Two Chains.
Starting point is 01:13:32 Oh, man. That would be amazing. What movie? That was so quick. I want to see Two Chains... Shit. Shape of Water. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 01:13:44 All right. I live in my own world. Oh, okay. All right. I live in my own world. Yeah, no, I like the juxtaposition. I make my moves. Mm-hmm. I got expensive dishes. You know I sleep with fishes. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:54 If I had three wishes, it would be to fuck more fishes. It would be so great. Water wet like the bathtub. Splash. Fantastic. With what's-her-name looking scared and concerned. Sneaking muscles out my workplace. Just all kinds of stuff.
Starting point is 01:14:12 It would be good. I'd like to see Dan Deacon do a whole trippy cartoon. Okay. Because I like the When I Was Done Dying thing that Adult Swim did so much. I think it would be amazing for him to do like, yeah, just like a- Like an Adventure Time kind of? No, more serious. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 01:14:28 Less like childish and not funny, but like maybe some funny stuff. Like a Yellow Submarine kind of thing? I don't know. Exactly. I think like a new thing. You know what I want to see? I want to see Randy Newman
Starting point is 01:14:39 see what he could do with I, Tonya. Whoa. Ooh. I mean, throw Randy Newman in any old soundtrack. Figure skaters got- Going quick around, guys. See what he could do with I, Tonya. Whoa. Ooh. I mean, throw Randy Newman in any old soundtrack. Figure skaters got. Going quick around the ice. She don't beat her knee whenever she please.
Starting point is 01:14:56 That wouldn't be nice. Yeah, Randy Newman's got it. Yeah, he's a soundtrack king already. It'd be cool to see Fiddler do a skateboard movie. I think they're handing it to you. Kanye would be a great sound, like a whole soundtrack by Kanye, but I can't quite think of the movie. He did, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. I was about to say, it would have to be his. And that other weird movie he made where he was tiny, did you see that?
Starting point is 01:15:20 No. What? He's like this weird short film, he's all drunk. It's fucking real weird. I love it. He's all drunk. It's fucking real weird. I love it. I love Weird Kanye. It's peak. Oh, wait.
Starting point is 01:15:29 What's your answer? Jim Steinman. Who he? He wrote Total Eclipse of the Heart. Oh, okay. Yeah, I thought it might be the meatloaf guy. And Most a Bad Out of Hell. Oh.
Starting point is 01:15:41 Yeah. And obviously I Would Do Anything for Love, but also what's the Celine Dion song that sounds just like that? All Coming Back to ooh. Yeah, and obviously I would do anything for love, but also, what's the Celine Dion song that sounds just like that? All Coming Back to Me. Yeah. Yeah. It does sound just like that song.
Starting point is 01:15:52 All coming back to me now. Well, I've been patented for seven years. That was a great no words. Thank you. On Celine. And I've had it, had it, had it. There's a seven-bedded hidden sweet. That wasn't as good. Baby, baby, baby, if you don't feel like this,
Starting point is 01:16:14 can you hold me like that? It was all a hangover, it's all coming back. It's all coming back, it's all coming back. It's all coming back. Yeah, anyway, I think it's weird. A lot of Celine's in here. I like it. There's like three. That might be my favorite music on the podcast.
Starting point is 01:16:34 I was really into that. I was trying to look it up and be like, did he do one? It feels like such a no-brainer to have him do something like one of those labyrinth-style movies. Like a weird 80s fantasy film. Right. You enter a cave and all of a sudden the stalactites are singing. The stalagmites are furious about it. Sean, it is time for your third pick.
Starting point is 01:16:55 Boogie Nights. Oh! I had that on my maybe. Great pick. That's a great pick. I'm going to go pee while you talk about it. This is the first time I've ever done this. I'm trying to fight off a possible gout attack
Starting point is 01:17:06 you gotta do what you gotta do there's so many scenes in Boogie Nights like that Sister Christian scene when like you know with all the firecrackers and things it's so tense one of the best uses of a song
Starting point is 01:17:22 in a scene so Paul Tammis Anderson has done this twice. He did it in The Master too where Marky Mark doesn't blink. Mark Wahlberg doesn't blink for like a minute. And then Joaquin Phoenix, in the movie. So there's just a still shot on his face and he doesn't blink for like a minute.
Starting point is 01:17:38 And Joaquin Phoenix does that in The Master too. And that would be so hard to do. And it's the whole time because they pan in on his eyes and you can see his cheeks moving a little bit so he's still acting not blinking and that song's in the background fucking fantastic. I mean Mark Wahlberg is
Starting point is 01:17:54 very strong physically Gotta control my eyes. No I can't do it I was trying to do a Mark Wahlberg and it kind of came out like a bad Travolta. Like if Mark Wahlberg was going blind he'd just be like no see better and then he just would. It feels like he would just make himself do it. He would definitely tell people, have I been on that going blind plane? I would have just gone better.
Starting point is 01:18:11 Nobody would have gone blind on that plane. If I was Ray Charles, I'd be seeing you right now. Although he did, funny to talk about it, he blinded a man. God. Also yelled bad stuff at a little kid. Oh, yeah, he's a bad man. He's a shit. But that was a great movie.
Starting point is 01:18:23 And Paul Thomas Anderson is one of these, again, that era of filmmaker that we're talking about. Where he's like, I know exactly what song every moment. It was the first time I ever heard that Marvin Gaye song, Gotta Give It Up, Part 2. I think it's called Gotta Give It Up, Part 2. But I used to go out to parties And just hang around
Starting point is 01:18:44 Cause I was too nervous To really get down Yeah, that song was great. The first, so, Bridgetown, I did the Bridgetown Festival, the first comedy festival I ever did. Right when I moved to Portland, I didn't even know what a comedy festival was, and I listened to that song constantly.
Starting point is 01:19:00 I just walked around, and I was like, this is fucking awesome. And I'd walk around these theaters, I was listening to that song, and I remember how good of a mood I was in. And I still think about that and I was like, this is fucking awesome. And I'd walk around these theaters. I was listening to that song. And I remember how good of a mood I was in. And I still think about that. I'm like, man, you were in a good mood that day. I mean, I'm in a good mood a lot.
Starting point is 01:19:12 But that was, yeah. So I absolutely love that. And then. There's like not a bad song on like every. Yeah. Well, then War too. That pool scene with War Spill the Wine. It's so good.
Starting point is 01:19:24 Yeah. I just absolutely love it. I was talking about how I don't fucking care, bro. I'm gonna tell you not. I went downstairs to pee, dude. Cool shit was happening for me, too. I don't need to be fucking updated, alright?
Starting point is 01:19:37 Seems like you went down to get two out of three of us LaCroix's. You didn't motion to me that you wanted one, bro. Do you want one? I would happily give you this one I brought for me. No, I don't. All right, dude. I was just being a shit, bro. Fine.
Starting point is 01:19:49 What do you want to say? I'm like, how did he get a God only knows on that? Maybe he went down, Ian went down and picked up some attitude when he was down there. No, no, no. I was back to the soundtrack. Oh, we're back. We were on the soundtrack. Stay on track, bro.
Starting point is 01:20:00 This isn't a fucking podcast for your little diatrabes. Tribes. Diatrabes. Tribes. Oh, and also Marky Mark, Mark Wahlberg and John C. Reilly singing they do the Transformers. You got the Dutch. Yeah, which is a hidden track on the soundtrack. That other one.
Starting point is 01:20:17 It will rock you. His original. The tapes are magic. It's our magic on the tapes. I absolutely love it. It's a great movie. My big dick and I want to fuck it. It's our magic on the tapes. I absolutely love it. It's a great movie. My big dick and I want to fuck. It's a great movie. It's an amazing soundtrack. Yeah, it's one of those
Starting point is 01:20:32 I feel like we're going back and forth between the original soundtracks and the curated ones. I feel like I'm falling into a crag. You like the curated ones. So what? Now I got the fourth and fifth pick to switch it up what's uh speaking of picks
Starting point is 01:20:46 oh golly gosh skinner time for your fourth and fifth third and fourth skinner time that's a fun oh no no no now it's getting skinner time
Starting point is 01:20:50 when you cook dinner do you ever say it's skinner time and then you eat dinner no Sean alright third pick third pick third pick what alone she would say that
Starting point is 01:20:58 third pick alone wait are you single third pick let's stop even if someone else was there it's skinner time well if someone else is there Wait, are you single? Third pick. Stop. He was so happy. Even if someone else was there.
Starting point is 01:21:08 It's Skinner time. Well, if someone else is there, you go. It's Skinner time for both of us. Skinner times two is what you say. No. All right. Third pick? Okay, here's where it starts getting dicey.
Starting point is 01:21:17 Skinner time. Here's where it's less about what I'm choosing. I got dicey a second ago when he said Skinner time. Leonard Skinner. No, I'm just going to have to call a show that. Guess who's coming to Skinner. No, I'm just going to have to call a show that. Guess who's coming to Skinner. Oh, wow. Look who's coming to Skinner.
Starting point is 01:21:30 Oh, that one's fucking. Now these are gold. Everybody comes to Skinner. Mine was good. Mine was good. That's my Slow Jams album. Yeah. Look who's coming to Skinner.
Starting point is 01:21:41 Okay, so yeah. Now it feels like it's more like as I pick these, I'm agreeing to not pick others. Okay, right. That's where we're at. That's, yeah, third pick, fourth pick. That's where it goes. It feels difficult,
Starting point is 01:21:51 but I'm gonna go, Muppet Movie was an obvious choice. I'm gonna add another obvious one to the pile. Okay. Original Footloose soundtrack. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:00 You gotta cut, gotta cut loose. Yeah, and again, every song. Dude, that tractor scene, Bonnie Tyler. I need a hero. Ooh, that was fun. Holding up for a hero till the end of the night.
Starting point is 01:22:10 It's that fucking song. I need a hero. Ba, ba, ba. Yeah. Oh. Yeah, that. Dancing in the Sheets. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:21 I should look it up, because I'm just doing it off the top of my head right now. Footloose. Yeah, Footloose of course Dancing in the Sheet Almost Paradise Almost Paradise that's a great love theme Let's Hear It for the Boy
Starting point is 01:22:30 yeah my baby may not be rich he's watching every dime but he love me love me love me oh man
Starting point is 01:22:38 roller skating to that that's a that's a roller skating jam that's a good roller skating song I want to go to karaoke in a bad way in a bad way let's do it there's a roller skating jam That's a good roller skating song I want to go to karaoke In a bad way In a bad way I want to go
Starting point is 01:22:46 Roller skating Let's do it There's a karaoke place Private rooms right across the street They have deals during the day Okay anyway If you guys want to hang out At one in the morning
Starting point is 01:22:54 After my god damn show tonight Yeah I'd love to do karaoke Oh god that's right Cancel it Stupid I can't I'm gonna say My
Starting point is 01:23:00 God This is a soundtrack Where it's hard to pick a favorite It's like what era of your life Are you in your favorite footloose song will change it's it's never gonna be footloose because footloose is that obvious it's obvious we're bored of it we've heard it too many times um but uh heaven helps the man is a true fave i don't know that i know that that's the one of the other i think maybe only the other kenny loggins Loggins on there. And it's a big montage of him dancing angrily inside of an abandoned building.
Starting point is 01:23:29 Oh, that's the warehouse scene? Yeah. Heaven helps the man who finds his dream. Love's the only way to keep me free. Okay, I don't know the words. I feel like Kenny Loggins is a little bit slept on. I'm free. It's actually I'm free parentheses
Starting point is 01:23:44 heaven help the man. Yes, it is. Kenny Loggins is the soundtrack king. on. I'm free. It's actually I'm free parentheses haven't helped them out. Yes, it is. Kenny Loggins is the soundtrack king. Soundtrack king. Don't want to. Oh, absolutely. Kenny Loggins and Messina though too is dope. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:23:51 And he had that Winnie the Pooh themed album. Yes, he did. There's a space in my life for that. Kenny Loggins is doing fucking great. Hey, the work that he did with Michael McDonald. Yes. That is. The funky ghost.
Starting point is 01:24:01 One of the patron saints of this podcast. What a fool believes. That's them. That comes up. That comes up on here. That comes the patron saints of this podcast. What a fool believes, that's them. That comes up on here. That comes up a lot on this podcast. Have you heard the apocryphal story about how it happened? No. Okay, now I'm going to tell it wrong.
Starting point is 01:24:13 I can't remember. He believed in something. Yeah, no. I believe that it was Michael McDonald had a song fragment he was working on, and he was like, I can't get it, I can't get it. And people were like, you know who you need to work with? Kenny Loggins. And supposedly he was singing his
Starting point is 01:24:28 song that Michael McDonald was singing the part that he had and Kenny Loggins was coming over to help him work on it and could hear him. And by the time he got to the front door, he had the next part of the song. Really? I love that shit. Which means he opened the door being like with Michael McDonald. What a fool believes. Yeah, it was like, what a fool
Starting point is 01:24:44 believes. And then Kenny Loggins was like, what a fool believes. And then Kenny Loggins was like, the wise man has the power to reason away. I like to imagine them singing it into each other's beards. Yeah. I snuggled up together making a great song.
Starting point is 01:24:57 You know what Kenny has to do before he checks his email? Log in. Log in. Oh no. And I thought of another dumb joke the other day. Do it.
Starting point is 01:25:04 What is a rabbi's car doing in a red light? Idle, idle, idle, idle, idle, idle, idle, idle, idle, idle. It's not dumb. That's off of your Jokes for Kids album, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's my Why Not One for the Kids is the name of the album. I like it. It would be so bad to have one for the kids.
Starting point is 01:25:24 You know what kind of? Maybe the teens even. name of the album. I like it. Oh, it would be so bad to have one for the Cades. Footloose. Maybe the teens even. Maybe for the teens. Maybe a clean joke for grandma. I just thought of a stupid, I'm going to tell you, I just made up a stupid joke. You know what kind of dinosaur goes to the gym a lot? Boy, my arms-a-saurus.
Starting point is 01:25:37 Damn, that, all right. But it was a Tyrannosaurus. Tyrannosaurus. Tyrannosaurus flex is what it was. That is so funny. One of us is a writer for television. The other one is not. If you combine the two, my arms are sore as flex.
Starting point is 01:25:54 There we go. There you go. There we go. My shoulder's so bad. Took the wind out of myself. Well, fine, Ian. I guess I'll snap the mic in half. I thought I guessed right. No.
Starting point is 01:26:03 Tyrannosaurus flex, if you guys weren't laughing so goddamn hard. Boy, my arms are sore. Oh, my cheeks are red. What kind of dinosaur just flew in from Cleveland? A fucking Tyrannosaurus flex. Boy, my arms are... And boy, my arms are sore. And boy, my arms are sore.
Starting point is 01:26:26 I'm just going to say say it this is not my favorite pick four it's given us a chance to drink pick four for Eliza Skinner okay so here's where
Starting point is 01:26:36 I have a question what are what are we what are we saying are these just our favorites or are these like a canon
Starting point is 01:26:44 or like there's no rules yeah whatever you want it's like Outback Steakhouse there's no rules it's so hard here What are we saying? Are these just our favorites? Or are these like a canon? Do you? There's no rules. Yeah, whatever you want. It's like Outback Steakhouse. There's no rules. It's so hard here. Just blue and onions. Okay, I'm going to do a real deep cut then.
Starting point is 01:26:53 The soundtrack to Grace of My Heart. Okay. You're going to have to explain that one. Yeah, a lot of people haven't even seen it. I don't know if I've ever heard it. That's one of me. Okay, it was this movie starring Ileana Douglas. Let me look up the year and everything.
Starting point is 01:27:08 Oh, this is a good soundtrack. It is loosely based on the life of Carole King, but they didn't get the rights to her life, so it's just a fictionalized someone like her. Oh, Jackie Jormjomp. Mm-hmm. And so going along with that, there are all these people,
Starting point is 01:27:23 and she was a songwriter, and then she eventually had her own. She had a big songwriting career before she had her solo artist career. And so there are all these people playing versions of the artists that she worked for in it. So they wrote all this original music that apes the style of all these different people. That's fun. And it's amazing. There's this Elvis Costello, Burt Bacharach song on it. There's a J Mascus, Brian Wilson song.
Starting point is 01:27:52 Take a run to the sun. Yes. Okay. Yeah. That's amazing. Sean Colvin doing a basic, like a type of dusty Springfield. Well, between two worlds. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:28:01 That's her singing about being a lesbian. Whoa. Yeah. It's so cool. This is such a cool idea. It's really neat, and I really think they pulled it off.
Starting point is 01:28:09 It was not, I mean, I saw it when I was like a teenager, so I don't know if it is really that popular. It's got like a, I mean, it's got a 74% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Starting point is 01:28:20 That's pretty good. I loved it, so I would say watch the movie, go for that, but then, yeah, the soundtrack was real cool. I like an interesting soundtrack that has a theme and something they're trying to accomplish.
Starting point is 01:28:31 Yeah. I mean, I feel like there's a world. I don't think any of you guys are going to pick this, so I'm also just going to mention the Judgment Night soundtrack. I think it's real interesting. Fuck. All three of us. Oh, God.
Starting point is 01:28:42 Come on. No, I'm just joking. None of us were going to take it. You were? Wait, you were? Yeah, we were listening to it last night. What? Fuck it, never mind. I'm not going to mention it was. Oh, God. Come on. No, I'm just joking. None of us were going to take it. You were? Wait, you were? Yeah, we were listening to it last night. What?
Starting point is 01:28:48 It's amazing. I'm not going to mention it then. It's amazing. I'm not going to pick it now. This is the first time this happened. I don't even know what movie that is. It's so good. I really, I truly thought that no one would. I'm happy it got brought up because it's so good.
Starting point is 01:28:59 Is that allowed? No, it just happened. Yeah, it just happened. Oh, no, Sean can't take it, though. Yeah, no, I won't take it. Oh, I'm sorry. But it's like, oh, no, come on. Well, what I like about it can't take it, though. Yeah, no, I won't take it. Oh, I'm sorry. But it's like... Oh, no, come on. Well, what I like about it...
Starting point is 01:29:06 Like Dinosaur Jr. and Slayer, I think, teamed up. Yeah, they teamed up all these indie bands and rappers. So that was the theme of that one.
Starting point is 01:29:15 And they created... I mean, some of them were redoing versions of their songs. Biohazard and Onyx, I think. Those guys should not be allowed to hang out. Oh, no, they should.
Starting point is 01:29:23 That is who. No, that would be a cool song I just mean like in the world oh yeah that's not like a good yeah yeah it's
Starting point is 01:29:30 so yeah Faith No More and oh somebody but yeah I really love Faith No More the Grace of My Heart soundtrack
Starting point is 01:29:39 it's a song like I all the songs I sing all the time in my head they're really hard to find it's not an easy soundtrack to find you can find a lot of the songs from it on releases by those album but by those artists like it's easy to find the the main theme song the the Elvis Costello God Give Me Strength but that really like that that's also almost a cry trigger for me,
Starting point is 01:30:06 listening to that song. He's so passionate and sings in a way that you don't normally hear Elvis Costello sing. Yeah, sure. So yeah, that's my deep cut pick. Great pick. Grace of my heart. Sean, time for your fourth pick. I'm going to pick the Above the Rim soundtrack. Oh, this is fair.
Starting point is 01:30:22 This is for me. That's on my list, too. That's the one that i thought you might take if i was like when's david gonna maybe oh yeah no you blew it because i'm gonna take the one that i thought you were gonna take yeah dude i just so that was like one of the that i had i owned a couple of soundtracks but they were all i bought for like one song above the rim i bought for the whole album. That whole album slapped, dude. Yeah, it's so great. It's got the original Big Pimpin' on it. Shout out to Dwayne Martin playing
Starting point is 01:30:49 basketball. That's basically what got me into Tupac was that soundtrack. It has Pour Out a Little Liquor and this song called Pain, which is like a... I don't know if it's a secret track on there, but I... I don't know what it is. I don't see it on there. See, but it's on there and it is on the version that I had, so I don't know exactly it's like. I don't see it on there. See, but it's on there and it is on the version that I had.
Starting point is 01:31:05 So I don't, I don't know exactly what the deal is. Oh, Left Out Tracks releases B-side for various album singles. Okay. Yeah, Pain. Yeah, it's so, they're both so good.
Starting point is 01:31:15 It's also got a song called Hoochies Need Love Too. I feel like soundtracks are so important as seminal albums because it's usually the way that we get into areas of music that we wouldn't have otherwise known. Well, that's Regulate was on that.
Starting point is 01:31:28 The stuff that's not playing on the radio or at least the radio that your mom is playing while she drives you to school. Yeah. And then you see these movies and you're like, oh, these people are cool. This is the kind of music they listen to?
Starting point is 01:31:39 Uh-huh. Okay, all right. And it's like, I wonder what else they've made. The Miami Vice trailer, the move for the remake of it or whatever, the movie version of it, had me convinced I liked that Jay-Z, Linkin Park, Collision Course album. And then you heard it. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:31:53 But in the trailer, it was like, oh, shit. This is music to fly helicopters to Cuba with. And that's what I want to do. At the concert? Live? That was so dope. It was pretty good. Yeah. I was there whiling out with those people from,. At the concert? Live? That was so dope. It was pretty good. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:32:06 I was there whiling out with those people from, where were they from? Haiti? Those people who were next to us who we ended up making friends with?
Starting point is 01:32:12 I don't know where. Where? Was this in Vegas? We were on Marley. Anybody. Where was this? In Vegas. Las Vegas.
Starting point is 01:32:17 Okay. Yeah. It was a scene. Las Vegas. So yeah, above the rim. Above the rim. Great pick.
Starting point is 01:32:24 That was my, for me, pick that I wanted to do. above the rim. Above the rim. Great pick. That was my for me pick that I wanted to do. Oh, I got it. That was your grace of my heart? Yep. Wildly different. Cartwheel? Alright. Alright, I'll pick.
Starting point is 01:32:39 Fuck, chill out. Alright, I'll do it. It's dicey now. It's dicey. I know. I don't know. I got a couple for my last, I don't know where it's gonna go. Hold on one second. Let me look something up just to... Are these the soundtracks that made me or the soundtracks that made the world? See, there's a couple where I'm like,
Starting point is 01:32:58 it'll get another like, oh, but I don't necessarily want that for my last pick. I want everyone to be like, what do you mean? And I'm like, this is a part of me. All right, I'm going to take it. This is very much me in my mid-20s in Portland being sad about girls' pick. We're taking the Juno original soundtrack. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:33:17 Yeah. It opens with one of my favorite songs ever, which is All I Want Is You by Barry Polisar. You know that one? Like, let me see. It's got the... If I were a honey tree, all I want for you is my sweet honey bee.
Starting point is 01:33:34 You know that song? It's so cute. It's got the Sonic Youth cover of... Superstar? Superstar. You know who's on the soundtrack? Belle and Sebastian. And you know who else?
Starting point is 01:33:43 Who? The Kanks. Oh, yeah. Oh, the Kanks. I like that. Belle and Sebastian. And you know who else? Who? The Kanks. Oh, yeah. Oh, the Kanks. The Kanks. I like that. Belle and Sebastian. Oh, I forgot about the Kanks.
Starting point is 01:33:49 Also the Kanks. The Kanks. Or they should do a song called A Wheel of Respect and Man. Kimya Dawson's on there. Look, Kimya Dawson. Yeah, that's how I first heard about Kimya Dawson. The Moldy Peaches do Anyone Else But You. And Velvet Underground doing I'm I'm sticking with you.
Starting point is 01:34:08 You know, I could watch that movie again, maybe. Skip past the first part of it. Not the first half. The first part where. Yeah, they're heavy on the cutesy dialogue in the first half. And then it chills out a little bit. With the fucking Dwight Schrute or whatever, Rainn Wilson. Where he calls her home skillet or whatever.
Starting point is 01:34:25 Yeah, home skillet. Got a doodle in your whatever. This one doodle can't be undiddled. Undiddled. It's like, shut the fuck up. Fuck you. But the soundtrack is very, it's a real 2008 time capsule.
Starting point is 01:34:36 Yeah, it really is. It's got Piazza New York Catcher on it, which is great. And Cat Power's Sea of Love. I don't know. Before it became almost's Sea of Love. I don't know. Before it became almost ubiquitous and cliche. I don't think I know that song. Come with
Starting point is 01:34:52 me, my love, to the sea. Nothing? No, but that was awesome. We're all just letting it happen. That's going to be my ringtone. I am with me.
Starting point is 01:35:08 My heart and love. My heart. Okay, so Juno, yeah, Juno. Frank Oz's version. Juno. David, it's time for your fourth and fifth picks. I'm going to hit you with a little Puerto Rican Juno. Ooh, a little razzle.
Starting point is 01:35:23 I don't know why I said that. Puerto Rican Juno. Does the camera only look like Puerto Rican Juno. Ooh, a little razzle. I don't know why I said that. Puerto Rican Juno. Does the camera only look like Puerto Rican Juno? Yeah. A Juno, no? All right. Shut up, Sean. You don't remember that?
Starting point is 01:35:32 Shout out to all the diplomats. Yeah, yeah, really. Shout out to the diplomats from Puerto Rico. Yeah, all the diplomats going to be there. Anyways, I was going to, in the vein of Sean, I think I picked same monster hip hop soundtrack. I picked the better one. Sean picked the worst one. I bet I picked same monster hip hop soundtrack I picked the better one Sean picked the worst one
Starting point is 01:35:47 I bet I can call it I obviously am taking Friday they hit all everything that I want and they also have some older songs on there too keep the heads ringing Friday but then they also got Hurt It Through the Grapevine I Wanna Get Next To You
Starting point is 01:36:03 I wanna get next to you I wanna get next to you. Yeah. I want to, come on. I want to get next to you. Dude, I used to watch, I used to rent. I love you, Mary Jane. Yep. It's on our car. They had the Friday music video. If you rented it, or owned it, I guess, you could fast forward through the whole thing and you could see the music video.
Starting point is 01:36:17 Yeah, at the very end, it had the Keep Their Heads Ringing video. No, well, they had them both. They had Friday, too. Did they have Friday? Oh, yeah. Friday, not as good a video, because Keep Their Heads Ringing had Chris Tucker in it, remember? Yeah, but Keep Their... To be honest, a little something about me, I don't like Keep Their Heads
Starting point is 01:36:30 Ringing. You're an idiot. What? That's stupid. I never, even when it came out, I didn't, I was like ah. And the party go for you next. The ring-a-ding-ding-ding-dong part. What? It didn't do it for me. That didn't do it? That's the part you didn't like. That's the part I didn't like. Oh wow. Alright, no, whatever. I like to be honest with my friends.
Starting point is 01:36:45 I don't want to lie to you guys. It's good. It's good. It's good. It's good. It's good. It's good. It's good.
Starting point is 01:36:49 Also, trying to see Another Day, the Isley Brothers song I love. Oh, yeah. That's how it opens, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Friday's soundtrack, so good. You're right. So fucking good. And then for my final pick, so I went back and forth.
Starting point is 01:37:05 I didn't know if I wanted to do this. But you know what? I'm 30 years old. I graduated in 05. And I'm taking the motherfucking eight mile sound track. Tell them about it. I'm taking it. I'm taking it.
Starting point is 01:37:19 Mom's spaghetti, dude. Somebody should. God damn. That's why I heard Wangster for the first time. That's where I heard. The fuck. Okay. If we're going to just go through the shit. You're mad for no reason. There's why I heard Wangster for the first time. That's where I heard the fuck. Okay. If we're going to just
Starting point is 01:37:26 go through the shit. You're mad. It's okay. Do it. There's no Mekhi Pfeiffer. It made me love 50 so much because Wangster was on it. But also if you remember
Starting point is 01:37:33 the Till I Collapse freestyle. Oh, so good. I don't think I won't hit you because I'm popular. And fucking lose yourself. Remember when lose yourself was a good song?
Starting point is 01:37:44 Like when that shit was like you were like whatose Yourself was a good song? Like, when that shit was like, you were like, what is this? Still a good song. Rolling Stone put it on their list of the 500 greatest songs of all time. It's incredible. It really is. It's such a good song. And then what else is there? The Rap Game song, Obie Trice has a great song on there.
Starting point is 01:38:00 Boy, Eminem really tried to get Obie Trice out there. Yeah, that album's good. It is, but it just never hit. Also my favorite song. Nobody ever talks about it. Rabbit Run was my favorite song on that album. You remember that? Some days I just want to up and call it quits.
Starting point is 01:38:13 Oh yeah. Feel like I'm surrounded by a wall of bricks every time I go to. Yeah. That shit like man. Yeah. That album was great. 8 Mile. I love that song.
Starting point is 01:38:22 The whole 8 Mile Road. I'm a man and I got a new... Yeah, that whole album. Really good. They even snuck in a little Macy Gray. Well, yeah. Macy Gray. It's...
Starting point is 01:38:31 Man. I try to freestyle rap and I choke. Macy, what are you doing here? I thought you weren't coming until next week. I try to fuck my girlfriend, but somebody else is doing it. My friend Cheddar shot himself. My wheel crumbles when you are not near. That part is the same stuff.
Starting point is 01:38:54 But yeah, no, the 8 Mile soundtrack. I loved it. I played the shit out of it. I thought it was really fun. No pock. None. Excellent pick. I love it. You got all defensive pock. None. Ah. Excellent pick. I love it.
Starting point is 01:39:07 You got all defensive about it. Everyone's on board. Yeah, yeah. That's a great. I don't think anyone's going to come at you about that. It's Marissa's favorite album, period. Soundtracks aside. Why were you defensive about it?
Starting point is 01:39:15 Marissa loves 8 Mile. Oh, it's just corny now. Because I think it's so much. So many of those songs. That's how I pulled it off the loose. I don't listen to a lot. I never listen to Lose Yourself anymore. But I do remember.
Starting point is 01:39:24 You don't listen to it before every set? No. But you got to tip your hat to it. Yeah. Because when it first came out, I would just get so like, because I was 17 and I could feel. Yes. I felt that song. I thought it.
Starting point is 01:39:35 It came out just in time for my senior year of football. Oh, man. Yeah. Played it before football games a few times. You don't think your boy got some sacks off of Lose Yourself? Just dent in the lockers. You don't think Aloha High School's backup running back had a bad Saturday because of that soundtrack?
Starting point is 01:39:49 You don't think I stuck Adrian Gomez, Englewood running back, went to Mesa State, D1 college, no big deal. You don't think I stuck him? You don't think I was listening to Eminem? You don't think that's what happened? You don't think your boy put numbers on the board?
Starting point is 01:40:03 You don't think he got into a bathtub gingerly the next day because of that? That happened to him. Yeah, lactic acid buildup. He said under his breath, like, God, my back hurts a little bit. You don't think century high school suffered a humiliating defeat? You don't think your kid hit 320 max on bench in the locker room? Putting it up. 18 years old, still growing?
Starting point is 01:40:20 You don't think that happened because of this? Elbows fucking. Then you're wrong. Cool. No bend. Locked. Doing squats. wrong. Cool. No bend. Locked. Doing squats.
Starting point is 01:40:28 90 degree angles. I was way out of high school by the time this came out. Yeah. But the point is. I was probably driving around in my Ford Pro being like 24. Deadlifts, bro. Deadlifts. Ooh, my neck. Bulging.
Starting point is 01:40:39 Hurt. How many 45s you got on each side? How much time you got in the day? Don't worry about it. I could deadlift a lot. I deadlifted a lot. I believe that. We had a hex bar, one of those good ones.
Starting point is 01:40:49 Oh, yeah. Yeah. Did you do the straps? Yeah, I strapped in. I chalked up. Oh, I never chalked up. I felt I got too. I'm out of the deadlift conversation.
Starting point is 01:41:00 If you want to listen to Dave and I talk more about weightlifting, we have another podcast for that coming up. The Swole Patrol. Look out for it that coming up. The Swole Patrol. Look out for it on that show. The Swole Patrol. Hell yeah. It's time for my final pick. And with my final pick, there are so many ones I wanted to go in.
Starting point is 01:41:14 I know I don't have any rap on mine. But I have to stay true to my heart and take the Clueless original soundtrack. It meant so much to me. What a fucking good call, dude. That didn't even... It's nice. I didn't even think about it it's so fun all the music on there
Starting point is 01:41:28 is fucking fun to listen it starts with Kids in America by the Muffs you know you know that we're the kids in America whoa
Starting point is 01:41:36 it's got a cover of All the Young Dudes which whatever I don't know that's also on Juno Mata Hoople All the Young Dudes oh yeah
Starting point is 01:41:44 so I have the original and the cover. I'll go the original. It's got Fake Plastic Trees by Radiohead on there. It's got a Smoking Pope song, which is good. It's got a fucking Beastie Boys song, Mullet Head. It's got Mighty Mighty Boss Tones on it. It does have the Boss Tones.
Starting point is 01:42:00 Where did you go? Wow, that album is complete. Do swingers have the Boss Tones also? I go? Wow, that album is complete. Do swingers have the boss tones also? I think so. I'm sure they do. Or am I just mixing up boss tones and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, which we all do.
Starting point is 01:42:11 Am I right? Am I right? You might be doing that. I just have to look at my tattoos on my right and left arm. And then above all, it's got All Right by Supergrass, which is another one of my favorite songs.
Starting point is 01:42:20 You know, we are young. Yeah. We can't breathe. What's that song? It's called All Right by Supergrass. Yeah, I absolutely love that song. We be all right.
Starting point is 01:42:29 I love my Cranberries CD. I've got to go to the quad before somebody snags it. That's my favorite line in them. I'm riding the Crimson Wave. Elton. Elton. And my buns, they don't feel nothing like steel. Sean, it's time for your final pick.
Starting point is 01:42:44 Man. Damn, I just got sad for Brittany Murphy, man. Yeah. R.I.P. She was great. Up there in heaven. Yeah, we just got both those picks. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:42:52 So, okay. Oh, yeah. Damn. This is gonna be, this is really just for me, the Dream a Little Dream soundtrack. Wow. I don't even know what,
Starting point is 01:43:02 what does that entail? That had some really great stuff on it though. Yeah, it had Otis Redding. Who sings I've Got Dreams to Remember? I've got dreams, dreams to remember. Sounds like you sing it, bro. I think it's Otis Redding. It's Van Morrison, Into the Mystic is on there,
Starting point is 01:43:24 and then Mel Torme doing Dream a Little Dream So I picked it for those three songs And the rest of it's The rest of it's good You know, there's all good songs There's like a Jackson Browne song on there But those three songs That's how I found out about
Starting point is 01:43:40 Mel Torme and the song Dream a Little Dream Which is top ten favorite songs of all time for me. Just that song in general. It's a great song. That's how I heard about Van Morrison with Into the Mystic is again one of my favorite songs of all time. That's another one. Is that the song where he says and I want to rock your gypsies so
Starting point is 01:43:57 it is I know at the time it was like a fly thing for him to sing. Right. But looking back on it, it is so whack. If can you, this was a tweet I'm recycling now as a spoken thing, but like. You didn't have to say it. How handsome do you have to be to be able to walk up to a woman at a bar in 2018 and be like, I, uh, I'm sorry.
Starting point is 01:44:20 I want to rock your gypsy soul. Are you allowed to just call people gypsies? Not Van Morrison, Hanson. I don't know. Was he a gypsy? I don't know. He doesn't look it. You can't call people that, but you can call their souls that.
Starting point is 01:44:32 Their souls that. Not a handsome man, Van Morrison. Yeah, I've been on Tinder. No. A lot of gypsy souls. A lot of gypsy souls. Exclusively. That was like a hard me pick.
Starting point is 01:44:40 And Kelly Jordan, that and Best of the Best, I think, are her two favorite movies of all time. Yeah. So, I watched Dream a Little Dream with my mom so much when I was a kid. Like, so much. Yeah. So, it's just, yeah, those songs are just, like, embedded in there. I think of childhood, I think of, yeah, all this. Do you prefer the Mel Torme version of Dream a Little Dream to the Karen Carpenter one? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:45:00 I love the Mel Torme. Or not Karen Carpenter, no. No, Mama Cass. Yeah, Mama Cass. Yeah, yeah. I love the Mel Torme. Karen Carpenter. Mama Cass. Yeah, Mama Cass. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I love the Mel Torme version. I absolutely love it. And Zooey Deschanel does kind of a cool version of it. And also Mickey Thomas. I think he was the singer for Starship.
Starting point is 01:45:18 But he does kind of a fun 80s version of it. Can we go back to the Van Morrison riff? Yeah. I found my tweet about it. Yeah, he's a real weirdo. Also, Moondance. He says it's a marvelous night for a Moondance, and then a fantabulous night to make romance.
Starting point is 01:45:36 Fantabulous night to make romance. But when he's in it, it's like hateration. When he's in it, you're like, yeah! Or a dancery, for that matter. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Josh Gondelman and I were tweeting about it and he said that
Starting point is 01:45:48 Van Morrison learned to dirty talk from watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. That's hilarious. And I wrote back, and all the sneeches swollen with their romps in the sky.
Starting point is 01:45:59 And the flea bits flopping when they're done. The males die. Bom, bom, bom. These schnozberries taste like schnauzberries. Yeah, exactly. That's my horny Dr. Seuss version of it. I love it.
Starting point is 01:46:13 Thank you for letting me return to the riff. Eliza Skinner, it's time for your final pick. Closing strong. Closing out the draft. Whatever you like best. No, I'm kidding. This is so difficult. But I feel like I'm just going to have to go back to where I started with a 1986 pick that I used to listen to on, that I got for a dollar and used to listen to on vinyl on my little turntable.
Starting point is 01:46:37 And that would be the soundtrack to Pretty in Pink. Oh, Garrett. I don't think I can think of any songs. What are we handling on that? Well, I mean, the most famous one from it is probably If You Leave by OMD. Oh, yeah. If You Leave. Yeah, okay.
Starting point is 01:46:53 Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark is what OMD stands for. That makes me so happy. Yes, it does. But I love the titular song, Pretty in Pink by the Psychedelic Furs. Oh, yeah. It's a short soundtrack only 10 songs yeah it has it has the smiths has echo and the bunnymen new order um joe jackson and suzanne veca doing left of center so this was definitely one that i was like oh there's song
Starting point is 01:47:15 there's music that's not on the radio that i want to know more about yeah right um and uh oh yeah the smiths are on there yeah see that's a to say it. There's music that's not on the radio that I want to know more about. I like that. I mean, Pump Up the Volume did that for me also, big time. Mr. Slater. Oh yeah. Christian.
Starting point is 01:47:34 Yeah, and that one broke my heart though because there was so much on the soundtrack that wasn't on the actual soundtrack. There is a song. Like there was a Beastie Boys song. There's a song from the Meet the Deedles soundtrack that you cannot buy on iTunes. It's called American Girls by Weezer and Soul Coughing
Starting point is 01:47:47 and some cake. But yeah, it just pisses me off. You're like, just put it on iTunes. That's the most Sean Jordan thing I've ever heard. There's a deep cut off the Meet the Deedles soundtrack that you can get if you go on iTunes. You can't get it on iTunes. You can't get it.
Starting point is 01:48:02 Listen to it while me and Scruzz the Buzz were cooking up chislik at a... Yeah. Popping Nolly's half cab. Yeah. I only mistaken to a deep fryer. Goddamn right I did. Pretty in Pink, excellent pick.
Starting point is 01:48:17 Thank you. It's an amazing movie. I mean, you know, and the whole scene with John Cryer dancing around. Oh, yeah, yeah. You know. It, yeah, yeah. You know. It's a great movie.
Starting point is 01:48:30 One thing that really bothers me, you know this movie, the ending, how she, spoiler everyone, she ends up with a rich kid and everybody's like, she should have ended up with Ducky.
