Starting point is 00:00:01 This is a headgum podcast. We'll do another brand new episode of all fantasy everything. The podcast, the fantasy drafts anything and everything from the world of popular culture. On today's episode, we are drafting movies that start with the word the. Our guest today is a returning champion. We were just talking, I can't believe how long it's been since you've been on this podcast. It's been a lot of years. A grievous oversight on our part.
Starting point is 00:00:46 Pre-pandemic. Pre-pandemic. But when we were all so young and vibrant. Three. Who's a different life? Yeah, so what we don't eat? Rapper, producer, comedian,
Starting point is 00:00:58 sometimes. Man About Town, writer, true Renaissance man. Open Mike Eagle. Hello. AKA Mike Eagle. What's happening.
Starting point is 00:01:07 What an introduction. I'm Ian Carmel, your host. With me as always are my friend of comedian, Sean Jordan and David Bory. We're in it. The podcast is happening.
Starting point is 00:01:14 We're doing it. I like that sweatshirt. I love it. You like the sweatshirt? Yeah, I think it's true. Thank you very much. It is very good. They are making some pretty good jazz merch.
Starting point is 00:01:22 Doug, Blue Note is making cool stuff. They're doing good stuff. Yeah, I see it sometimes on Instagram. Now, I hate that we have a limited amount of time, so I hate to bog us down on jazz talk. But I did predict. No, you don't. I don't at all.
Starting point is 00:01:35 I did predict at the beginning of this year that jazz would become cool this year. It's happening bit by bit. I'm going to bog us down even further. Let's go in. You can do whatever you want. There's a Twitter discourse. I don't know if you saw this.
Starting point is 00:01:49 No. where Ninth Wonder from Little Brother fame has declared war on the term jazz rap. Oh, I like this. Okay. And it's trying to make sure people stop calling Tribe Call Quest Jazz Rap specifically. For some reason, he hates this. Is it because Q-Tip sample jazz so often that everybody sample jazz, though?
Starting point is 00:02:13 Right. I don't think it's out of bounds to call a tribe-call quest jazz rap. I don't think it is either. I call it plug two. You call it all plug two? I call it plug two. It's all plug two. It's all plug two.
Starting point is 00:02:27 People say plug one and two are hippies. I say that's pure plug bull. There are a few, Guru had Jasmine Tats. There's a whole blue note album that's just like... The Madlib one, yeah. Yeah, exactly right, yeah. So what happens?
Starting point is 00:02:43 It's not a dirty word. I don't think so either. Is he upset about the connotations? I think he just doesn't want to be put next to us three. I think that's all it is. He just doesn't want the association. Funky, funky. He only wants to be next to the other eight ones.
Starting point is 00:03:01 Well, but like, yeah. The Hanging Gardens of Babylon. The Library of Alexandria. The lighthouse. Whatever. Oh, you have a colossus. Um, I. I can't I understand I understand
Starting point is 00:03:19 Yeah, but there's that museum quality of jazzy Are you talking about the rebirth of slick Are all their albums like that? No I don't know We only had two What's the second album like? The second is more, it's more funky
Starting point is 00:03:32 Oh, it's chill like that Funky, funky Are you singing the butt? No No It's a sampling that You don't know Cantaloupe? I thought, I...
Starting point is 00:03:43 Bid Bipop. It's the Canylop Island by Herbie Hancet Cerebell. When I hear somebody say funky, funky, I think of the butt. Okay. Funky, funky. It was like...
Starting point is 00:03:52 And in motion, she was dying. I always thought this song was so dirty. I love it. I loved it, too, but I was like in first grade, I was like, why is this okay? Yeah. Well, it also, when I was a little kid, it does sound like he's saying,
Starting point is 00:04:06 do it in the butt. Yeah. You know what? I used to listen to on the radio and was just on the radio was Freak Me by Silk. We've talked about this before. Let me look you up and down until you say stop. You're like, that was on the radio.
Starting point is 00:04:15 My mom would turn it up and be like, oh, this, I like this. They played dead at like my eighth grade dance. It's crazy. Man, and they expect kids to not get pregnant. Seriously. They played Askeetskeet on the radio even later. Yeah, that was on the radio. They played dancing too close, which was so clearly about having a bonner.
Starting point is 00:04:29 You know the beginning of that song? You know what's, to be honest, though, about too close. I was too young. I didn't know that song was about a boner until I got a little. You know what they didn't say on the radio was the beginning of that song. he goes, I wonder if she can tell that I'm hard right now. That's in the song. I never heard that. They never did that on the radio.
Starting point is 00:04:44 That's part of the song. We don't have a song. You have to know. Is that a part of your? Listen to it right now. I thought the song starts and he says, don't stop now. On the radio. You don't did it. I'm telling you, listen to the song and it goes, in that baseline. He goes, I wonder if she can tell I'm hard right now. You're right. I've heard it.
Starting point is 00:05:00 And you're like, if you're saying it like that, then yes. Here's my question. If you have that song, you know that's a hit, right? You record that. You hear too close by next? You hear too closer like that. a fucking hit. Is there any part of you that's like, should we make this what's not about
Starting point is 00:05:14 having a boner on the dance floor? Or at least the part where you say you're hard in the beginning. Yeah. It should maybe not do that. You drop that. They were smart to cut that. Yeah. Making it hard for me. I guess there's like a double entendre. There was. No, I didn't I was in college and I didn't know it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:30 It wasn't, it wasn't as clear as everyone makes it seem. No, that's right. You're 100% right. I just thought it was like, I'm falling in love. Yeah. You're dancing real close. You're making it hard for me not to fall in love.
Starting point is 00:05:43 Yeah. I love you so much. I'm a little boy. That's how dancing works. I'm a little boy. It's magical. Yeah. I'm a little boy.
Starting point is 00:05:50 I love you. Let's get married. Sean Jordan is here. Sean Cougarmel and Jordan on Instagram. I'm excited to fall in love. It's going to be so fun to fall in love coming out. September 3rd. I'll be headlining a comedy festival, Detroit Rock City.
Starting point is 00:06:08 That's wild. Comedy Festival, September 17. So come on, come on a check. When are you going up in the lineup? You're going last? Last 30s in the lineup. They call that the headliner in the biz. David Borey's here.
Starting point is 00:06:17 Oh, wait, and come see us September 26th. Our Latin theater. I have no dates. First show sold out. Second show is still available. About to sell out. About to sell out. David has no dates.
Starting point is 00:06:29 Backstage, we're going to have a lot of crazy stuff. I thought we'll have some voodoo donuts. Yeah. We always send them. They made a donut that looked like you that one time. Yeah, we looked like me. It also looked like fat Drake. Drake, right?
Starting point is 00:06:40 Looks a little bit like fat Drake. Do you have any pictures? Here's what I'm saying. I know. I've never seen those two in the same room together. Nope. A couple of barmets for boys. Mike Eagle is here.
Starting point is 00:06:53 Yo. What do you have to? Where can people check you out? Oh, man. I'm going to be, when does this come out? September 3rd. This comes out of September 3rd. So I don't remember any of my dates that far in the future.
Starting point is 00:07:05 But you go to Mike Eagle. They'll all be there. And updated. But I have a new album that will have come out by then. It comes out August 14th. It's called, DOOM. And it's a rap album about a relationship that ends in every possible universe. That's great.
Starting point is 00:07:19 Oh, that's great. I love that. I'll tell you, I'll tell you, so this is September this comes out. So there's going to be some stuff in between. But 10-6 in Montreal. Yep, that's true. 107 in Toronto. Those are all happening.
Starting point is 00:07:31 October 10th in Chicago. Yep. November 3rd in Tucson. Yep. November 4th in Phoenix. Wow. The 5th in Santa Ana. so many places. And the sixth, right here in
Starting point is 00:07:40 Los Angeles, California. Exactly. Home with the LA Kings. Thank you for that. Where the Kings lay. Yeah, that's right. And then the new album. And then get all the old albums too. There's nothing stopping you from doing that. If you got them once do it again, it's okay. Get it again. Get it again. Don't be a jerk. Some of the best things in life
Starting point is 00:07:58 happened twice. That's right. Like getting hard on the dance floor. Getting hard on the dance floor? The World Cup in the U.S. I hate to break it to you. That's happened about 60 times If I had to throw a number out I'm going to take the over Yeah Me getting hard on this dance
Starting point is 00:08:17 I have nothing to promote I mean Carmell come see our 10 year anniversary show that's about it We are drafting movies That start with the word the This was I think it was a Patreon I think it was just on that big old list
Starting point is 00:08:30 Shout out to you if this was your suggestion Hit us up and let us know it was your suggestion And we will celebrate you In reverse Yeah I'm trying to be better about that. Sorry, I was at the airport compiling a list and it's hard to do on your phone to remember sorry, poor me, but just remember
Starting point is 00:08:44 the name and then put it in the notes. When you're compiling. Doesn't sound that hard when I'm saying it out loud, does it? No, but I mean, you know, not as hard as my dick on the dance floor. You know, it's hard. Girl, you know, he can't help it. What do you want me to do about it?
Starting point is 00:09:02 If we could just get married. I would like get better if the tone of that song was that. Girl! Well, you missed it. Biohazard did a version of it. No, no, you're lying. No, I'm kidding. Okay.
Starting point is 00:09:14 You know I can't help him. You're making it hard for me. Making it hard for me. You're making it hard for me. Batman did it in character at karaoke. You're too close. I wonder if you're going to tell I'm hard right now. Batman's singing karaoke stresses.
Starting point is 00:09:37 More than. Words. Everybody's like, hey man, he better not do NWA again. I'm going to be honest, like, I'm glad he hangs out with us. That's not cool. I'm not cool with that. That's what it says on the screen. It's just the lyrics.
Starting point is 00:09:57 Oh, that's fun. Assist the police. Batman and Captain America do an assist. Oh Holy cow Now the way we determine the order of this draft It's a rollic a game of rock paper scissors Played between the three of you
Starting point is 00:10:16 And we throw on shoot All right, here we go Rock paper scissors shoot Oh Sean Wood It is good Natural You're on a heater, dude You are on a heater
Starting point is 00:10:27 You're on a big time heater Big cigarette Scissors Cissors It's two papers As the winner is incumbent upon you To determine the order of today's draft Before you do that
Starting point is 00:10:35 I will remind you It's a serpentine draft And what is that That's a great question. Well, Trav Kurtz out here on Instagram. Shout out. Credit. It's like Newton's cradle.
Starting point is 00:10:43 What the hell's in? Explain that. A ball thing. Yeah. That's right. It's a ball thing. Yeah. You see on like a realtor's desk.
Starting point is 00:10:49 Oh, there's a name for that. Newton's cradle. I learned something. Toxia into buying a house is what that thing does. Hypnotizes. Did they invent that in the 90s? Felt like it. It feels like Newton.
Starting point is 00:10:58 Although the Newton part of it makes you think no. Yeah. There were Newton's that fig Newton's cradle. When did a sharper image come out? I bet late 80s. Uh-huh. That's what I feel. I would.
Starting point is 00:11:09 I get it. Now that I have like, once you start making a little bit of money, I get the sharp. Oh, as a boy, I thought that's, I was going to grow up and it was going to. I thought that, I thought the whole crib was going to be sharper image out. That face thing when you put your face into the pins. I'll tell you this, if the sharper image had existed when we were all living in the Fortress of Solid Dude. I would have looked. I would have moved out.
Starting point is 00:11:31 It would have looked like Arsenio's apartment and coming to America. You didn't hear me. I would have moved out. I would have had a condo. That's who it was for That's who it was for It was for a condo but not divorce No no pre-married
Starting point is 00:11:44 This is adjacent We were talking about the other day though Like why did they get rid of Sky Mall Because I would have bought a lot of stuff In Sky Mall by now Stupid shit I thought it was crazy That is a great question
Starting point is 00:11:53 Upcharged right It's because everything is Yeah but on a plane It's nothing's real up there I would have bought so much stuff Yeah It just What was the reason they got rid of it?
Starting point is 00:12:03 What was the process to buy it? But you're in the sky Do you just fill out the form And then? I think you fill out a form Skymall.com still exists. You couldn't buy it in the sky yet, but now you could buy it in the sky. So they'd get so many people making bad choices.
Starting point is 00:12:15 Yeah. Remember they used to have a little phone receiver on the back of the... Yeah. I never saw anybody make that call. Me neither. But it was probably like $100. It was always there. I never saw something.
Starting point is 00:12:24 It was always there. Because that was before screens. They had a phone that would pop out. You could call you people? Yeah, yeah. It probably costs $10,000. $10,000. They also had...
Starting point is 00:12:34 They also had ashtrays. Yeah. I remember that. That made sense in coach. The phone didn't. The phone didn't make sense in coach. It stressed out about how much money the call. Basically, Sean, if you pick fourth in the first room, you pick first in the second.
Starting point is 00:12:48 That's true. With that in mind, what would you order the draft be? We'll go Mike, David, myself, you. Hot Corner! You're making it hard for me. The order is Mike David, Sean Ian. We are drafting movies that start with the. And we're going to get to our first pick right after the short break.
Starting point is 00:13:06 What's Crack and fan? episode of All Fantasy. Everything is brought to by Ridge. Now, of course, we here in the fam, we are obsessed with Ridge. Look at this wallet. It's perfect. It fits anywhere you need it to. If I fall, I get hurt. This doesn't get hurt. It's durable. It's lightweight. Not here to talk about that. Here to talk about Ridge's five and one travel power bank. If you travel even one time in the whole year, you want this. It is fantastic. And trust me, I travel constantly. I do not leave without it. I don't want wires sitting everywhere. I don't want, I don't want to be looking for outlets, and that's exactly what this does. It saves you from all that trouble. You compare it also
Starting point is 00:13:46 with Ridge's MagSafe compatible phone cases. You got the perfect everyday setup. You just slap it on there, and it just sticks. If you're picking up the new iPhone 18 or sticking with your 17 or whatever you got, Ridge got cases for you so you can look into that. But the power bank, MagSafe wireless charging. It's got Apple Watch charger. USBC, any way you need to charge, all in one device. No more wires, no more looking for outlets, like I said. It's 20 watts of power and a 10,000 MAAH battery, which of course we all know what that means. I don't really need to get into the minutia of that. But essentially, you can get three fold phone charges wherever you go. And it just fits in your pocket. It is so
Starting point is 00:14:27 easy to carry around. Trust me when I say, take it from somebody who travels a ton. You don't want to be out. Or if you're in New York City, whatever, you don't want to to be out with four chargers looking for outlets. You just want one little thing fits in your pocket. Makes you look cool when you pick it out. And like everything Ridge makes, built to last, of course, built it just like your boy, built to last.
Starting point is 00:14:46 It's got free shipping, 99-day risk-free trial, lifetime warranty. This is the last power bank you will ever need. And also, real quick, listen to the colors. It's got, it's in Phantom, dark cherry. Matt Olive sounds like a bookie. Base Camp Orange, sounds like a movie Jake Jelenhall would be in. Give one of those colors.
Starting point is 00:15:04 Got a little charmed. your display right on it so you know exactly what you need, how much juice you got. One thing to pack, five ways to power. You can find Ridge's power bank of Best Buy or our listeners could get 10% off at Ridge.com by using code all fantasy at checkout. Just head to Ridge.com and use code all fantasy and you are all set. Little Vince Vaughn for you there. But if you could wake up tomorrow, say you wake up tomorrow and you are amazing at one thing in your life that you've been working on. You're better at one thing.
Starting point is 00:15:47 And it could be anything. It could be calming down in traffic, not pointing any fingers, but let's say that you really want to calm down in traffic. Or it could be not being on your phone as much. It could be, you know, being less frustrated with things that your kids might do. It could be kickflips. I'm not saying they're all me. I'm just saying anything you could have.
Starting point is 00:16:10 That's why it's good to have someone to talk to, and that's where better help comes into play. I would love to really calm down in traffic. Everyone's getting where they're going. They're trying to get there. Shouldn't be a problem. I don't know why it is, but I just can't. I just can't let it go. And talking to someone, offloading your issues is one of the best ways to get that done.
Starting point is 00:16:29 And better is a feeling. It is defined by you. and for Better Help, it's a Better Help therapist who really gets you. Starting point is 00:16:50 That's better, h-elp.com slash all fantasy. And we're back. Coming back to a different camera. That's not on me. I hate to keep harping on this song. it does feel like she should have had more to say about that. Yeah. What did she say?
Starting point is 00:17:08 Does she say something? She says, Oh, yeah. Like that, that, that. I love it. I see that you like my back, back out. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:20 And then he says, oh, baby, I like it. You can tell he had a bono. Yeah, when you're like method acting, he had to get hard in the studio. Oh, do you like my back? Yeah, I like you back. I like you back. Hey, hey, I'm just going to punch in.
Starting point is 00:17:38 They bundled up some pillows in the studio. So love your bono on those pillows on your pillow. Everyone's got to throw pillow while they're recording. Oh, Jesus. Pulling it over there for... Oh, man. The 90s, man. That's what these were at house parties for kids.
Starting point is 00:17:53 Like, you see it in... There's one of the Jason movies. Jason versus Freddie. This kid sits next to a girl and just pull... And he goes like this. Put the pillow over his bono? That's what it was to hide it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:02 Yep, yeah. A tip for you. I have my laptop recipe on it. Who do you think our audience is? I don't know. 12 year old dudes. Dudes at bars with throw pillows. Dudes at bars with throw pillows?
Starting point is 00:18:16 That's a bad guy. You better not be in a bar with throw pillows in high hopes. You can't bring your own pillow to the bar. You better not. You better not bring your own pillow. They're kicking your ad. They're right now. Any establishment I want to be seen at.
Starting point is 00:18:29 No. What if, what if, all four of us came into a bar and all four of us at pillows. That sucks. Pillow fight in a bar. That changes. Yeah. What's that time you guys got in a real pillow fight? I have not, but have you seen the competitive pillow fighting.
Starting point is 00:18:45 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. They're wailing on a head, beating the dog shit. That would piss me off because every pillow fight I have been in, there is a moment where you get mad. Yeah. Well, the one person gets the feather pillow and cinches it all down to the bottom. Might as well be rocks. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:01 Yeah, or he ties it around. Like, it's just somebody starts finding a way to actually hit you. Jesus Christ. I'm getting Sean with a pillow right now. You're just listening. Theater of the mind, folks. I wonder if Ian can tell him hard right now. He took my boner pillow up.
Starting point is 00:19:22 Oh, no, my boner pillow. Excuse me, is it cool if I sit down at the bar with my boner pillow? Hi. It's okay if I bring a boner pillow into your bar? Let me get a Harvey. Ball banger. Hi, does your establishment provide boner pillows or should I bring my own?
Starting point is 00:19:41 That's why I called. I'm just thinking about what kind of monster situation you'd have to have if you were standing at the bar and still needed a way to cover your erection. Obscure it? Yeah. Oh, that's what's like going on? I think you got a situation where it's like so big
Starting point is 00:19:56 it's a burden at that point. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're like a sick freak. Yeah. People are like, oh, must be awesome. and you're like, I worry about blood loss. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:06 Because it's got to come from something. If a mosquito bit my bone or it would explode. Yeah. It's like that video of that guy who can't stop. They nose suck it, don't they? Mosquitoes bite. I thought there was a needle nose thing that they stuck in you. Yeah, but what do you have a mosquito bite?
Starting point is 00:20:21 Is it real if a mosquito bites you and you flex, it'll explode? I've heard that. If I do, yeah. Isaac, we please go get a mosquito. Show these boys Pop the trunk Mike you have the first pick In the movies start with the
Starting point is 00:20:35 I'm going with the Exorcist Oh that's a great film Yeah I said film You'll notice I'm gonna pick some movie How old were you when you first saw it? Too damn young Man I was I had to be what
Starting point is 00:20:51 7 8 years old Notoriously a movie people see too young I don't know anyone who saw that one on time Yeah I don't know a single person My little sister gave her nightmares for a month It's so gnarly. Just think about as a kid. Her voice just sucks.
Starting point is 00:21:05 All of it. Yeah. It's just, it. Didn't weird shit happen to her in life? Yes. That little girl? Oh, wait, I'm thinking of the Polterkeyes girl. Linda Blair.
Starting point is 00:21:13 Yeah. Did she go weird for her after she was in the X-Ben? I'm on her Wikipedia right now on the personal life section. She dated Rick Springfield. At age 15. That's Jesse's girl? That's pretty weird. Okay, so she was 15, he was 25.
Starting point is 00:21:27 That's crazy. Yeah, that sucks. So that's a bad thing. It's not good. She dated a guy in Wingshouser. It'd be crazy to tell people like, oh, who's your girlfriend? Have you seen the exorcist? She dated Rick James.
Starting point is 00:21:45 No way. She dated in Rick James. No, that's not good. That's not, yeah, depending on the year. She was old enough. Whatever year it was. That wasn't good. She never old enough to date Rick James.
Starting point is 00:21:55 She was in her 20s. Just for Rick James's sake. Whatever year it was, he was very busy. smoke and crack. Yeah. So, you know. Those pipes burned hot. It's not good times.
Starting point is 00:22:04 When was the last time you saw the exorcist? Rick James, sorry to interrupt. You're going to want to hear this. He wrote cold-blooded about Linda Blair. Oh, I just heard that. I just heard that. I refused to believe that. No, I did.
Starting point is 00:22:16 No, you didn't hear it because he had just made the fuck off. You're not going to tell me that's true. She right. She really played with his heart. And then he wrote cold-blooded. I can't. I can't. I can't.
Starting point is 00:22:29 I just can't. That's so funny. It's about the girl from the exorcist. Which is also like, Rick, you are dabbling where you should have been dabbling. You're playing with fire, Rick. You thought the girl from the exorcist was not going to break your heart. Here's what he said about her in Glow, the autobiography of Rick James. Linda was incredible.
Starting point is 00:22:49 A free spirit, a beautiful mind, a mind-blowing body. She liked getting high and getting down as much as I did. She liked to crack as much as me. Which is a crazy staff. photograph that showed up everywhere. We didn't care. We were doing our own thing our way. It was a love affair that I hoped would last.
Starting point is 00:23:07 It didn't. He only wrote it didn't. Then she got an abortion. And then he wrote that song? Yeah. Damn. Damn. I feel like cold-blooded he wrote in the car.
Starting point is 00:23:18 Wow. He was like. He wrote it in the car. Right. Driving home from the breakup. Linda Blair. The Exorcist, though, is a great movie. What a Wikipedia page.
Starting point is 00:23:33 It's a crazy Wikipedia page. We could do a whole episode on her Wikipedia page. That'd be fun just to pick someone and draft their Wikipedia page? And draft their Wikipedia page. They're our favorite things about someone's Wikipedia page. I think we should pick Bobby Fisher. Because he ever seen that one? It's fucking, no.
Starting point is 00:23:48 That's crazy. It's got a whole anti-Semitism section. Yeah, yeah. You know who's also got a crazy Wikipedia is Shine. Oh, I bet Shine does. Yeah, it's from by that. Where's he from? Haiti?
Starting point is 00:23:59 Yeah, like the politics Or Belize, Belize, you're right He got involved in Belizeian politics. He's like the bastard son of a Belizeian Politician, I believe. And now he is in politics. Politizian. All right, so for my first friend.
Starting point is 00:24:16 The exorcist. Yeah, the exorcist. Do you ever? So like, growing up Jewish, didn't really have the whole Jewish 100% permissive and everything. Didn't really have the whole devil thing. playing in the picture.
Starting point is 00:24:30 Did you guys have the devil at all growing up? Yeah, the landlord. Let us have a Christmas. As a kid, that was what I was scared. I went through a period where I was really afraid of getting possessed. Really?
Starting point is 00:24:45 Yeah. Did you ever see anybody? Nope. Okay. Nope. Nobody did it never affected, touched my life in any real way. Were you a black church kid?
Starting point is 00:24:55 Not even, man. I was just afraid of getting possessed. Yeah. Yeah, really, really scared of it for a while. That movie will put the fear of that. Of devil in you. Monsters never really scared me. Devil stuff always really scared me.
Starting point is 00:25:09 The stuff that super, like that, I'm with you, like Lady and White, Rosemary's baby and stuff. All that stuff is like, well, damn, if religion is, if it's all real, then that could all happen. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But like monsters are like, yeah, I know that's not real. Like a Frankenstein, for example. Yeah. Dracula. My turn?
Starting point is 00:25:27 It is your turn. Wolf fans got, not. It isn't even a pun because we've been talking about next, but the wood. The wood. It was a first pick. That was going to be probably three for me. I think it's a perfect movie. I do too.
Starting point is 00:25:39 I haven't seen it since I was very, very young. I maybe haven't seen it. Oh my God, it's so good. It's perfect. Had to beat his ass the other day. It's like for a coming of age story, and I was like, I was coming of age. It was probably in like six or seventh grade when the wood came out. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:56 There's a too close situation in the wood. Yeah. The high school dance. There is a too close situation. Oh. Yeah, yeah, yeah. When they're listening to If This World War Mine. Yep.
Starting point is 00:26:04 Yeah. Because Stacy, the older brother, says, Dance with her one if this World of Mind came on. Yeah. I've done the pants suspenders over a, uh, tank top look before, and I look different. I look like a landlord.
Starting point is 00:26:16 You mean you look different than Morris Chestnut? I look different than Morris Chestnut. I look like an old Italian. It is an Italian look. It's an old Italian look, right? I messed it up. It's not Morris Chestnut. It's, um, Omar Epps.
Starting point is 00:26:26 Yeah, I look like, I don't look like Omar Eps. I look like, I don't know, I look like Mr. Hershowitz. Yeah, the wood is fantastic. I watch it back in the day. Every time it comes on, I watch it all the way through. It's just like, man, it's just like the soundtrack is great. Who else put a mod on a soundtron? You remember, I heard it from the kitchen one time.
Starting point is 00:26:52 That song came on and I was in the kitchen at the fortress. I go, you watchin the wood? That's on the woods soundtrack. That's on the woods sound like. What is I watch on the wood? So maybe I have seen the wood. I think that they put it on the wood soundtrack. That makes sense.
Starting point is 00:27:01 Yeah. It's such a good, such a good movie. Homer Epps kills it. It's very fun. Are you sure it was me? I feel like I haven't seen it. It was in the fortress, yeah. Okay, yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:10 I am watching the wood. How'd you know that? I used to smoke a lot of weed. First couple notes of back in the day are playing. I'll have to run it back. The wood is Englewood. It is. That's where I live.
Starting point is 00:27:20 And he moves from a movie enough. Yeah, man, you got to go back. You're going to really be like, wow, I forgot how good this was. No, he moves from North Carolina, that's right. Where are you from? North Carolina. Yeah. You move there to be closer to the Intuit Dome, right?
Starting point is 00:27:34 No. It sprang up in my backyard, and now it's just annoying. It is annoying. The World Cup must have been such a headache. It was like, it was like suddenly my town's overrun by assholes. Yeah. Yeah. And it's like that.
Starting point is 00:27:47 Honestly, on football days, it's just as fucking. It's got to be god awful. It's terrible. Oh, my God. The traffic there was insane. I won't do one game. And they put, you know, They got the forum and the sofi and the Intuit Dome.
Starting point is 00:28:02 It's all right next to each other. That's fucking nightmare. Yeah. They didn't do any like road improvements or anything like that to like deal with the traffic on those days. No. It's just terrible. I'm sorry that happened to you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:13 It's bad. Sean, time for your first. I'll keep it in the horror dome here. I'm going to go to The Shining. Shining's good. The Shining, which I also saw way too young and a different element. of scary stuff where it's like this guy's just going nuts. Yes, there's some supernatural
Starting point is 00:28:32 in there, but without that, it could still just be a guy that went not to kill his family. Yeah. And that is terrifying. Yeah. And the twins. And Danny Torrent, like this... And twins. Yeah, the kid rock version. That's usually what I'm talking about. Danny's not here. Danny's not here, Mrs. Torrance. And she freaks me out.
Starting point is 00:28:49 I'll never get over the, you know, the hotel room. The woman in the bathtub? No, not even the woman in the bathtub, the guy in front of the mascot. Oh, that's the scariest thing. Yeah, what the fuck is that about? In the picture? What is that about? He's getting a frie's getting a knobber. He's got a nober from like a girl in a
Starting point is 00:29:07 or something in a dog suit. Yes. Yeah. What is happening? And that never really, there's never really, that's what's extra fucked up about it is there's no other explanation. It doesn't tie to anything. No, no foreshadow. You're just like, what's that? It's like something else to freak you out a little bit more. You guys ever go to that hotel? No.
Starting point is 00:29:23 Oh, well. The exterior is. The interior is somewhere else. I forget. They have a little shop in Timberline, the little shining merchandise shop. Oh, do that? Very nice. They sure do, but you can buy a snow globe.
Starting point is 00:29:36 Uh-huh. You get it all. Typewriter. Get a big old bloody axe. Tricicle. You know. Some Johnny Carson DVDs. Here's Johnny.
Starting point is 00:29:46 Here's Johnny. Yeah, the shining. That's about alcoholism, right? That's what Stephen King wrote the shining about. Oh, really? So that's what he's going nuts. Yeah. That's what's happening.
Starting point is 00:29:54 I think that's what it is. Yeah, like him losing, like him losing, like control of himself I never seen somebody drink so much to end up in a photograph I've never seen that you know
Starting point is 00:30:06 wish I could say the same I've seen some photos of me I've worked by the way into maybe I'm going in the wrong places I was like I was there
Starting point is 00:30:14 I haven't seen the shining in forever the term shining though is about how the kids used to talk to you shine on as what yeah he's like that's how you talk to the other side you can shine right isn't that what it was
Starting point is 00:30:24 I haven't seen it in a lot Skatman Corruthers He knew about that shining. Scatman Carruthers. Scatman Crothers. We don't have any scatman anymore, do we? No, there's no more scatman. Not in the traditional sense.
Starting point is 00:30:39 Not in the tradition. The new scatman. Some German guys I could introduce you too. Scatman Crothers is buried in Forest Lawn. We go see them right now. I drive past them all the time. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:52 The shining. Then there were all those rumors that it was like Kubrick built some of his like I fake the moon landing confessions into the that's what they say the room 237 documentary is really good and full of wild misinformation yeah very entertaining but the fun kind the fun kind where you're like I could see that exactly not the jet fuel steel beams kind but the fun that doesn't matter kind
Starting point is 00:31:13 yeah exactly right yeah the shining uh probably still my favorite scary movie pound per pound it's very really I think I haven't sat and like cover to cover it in a while but it's creepy for sure. The pace is really good. Do you think you could live in a hotel that big? No. I'd be scared. I'm still lightweight afraid of the dark.
Starting point is 00:31:35 I'm very afraid of the dark still. Like alone? Well, you start thinking about it. Yeah. You start thinking about it? A huge space? No, thank you. You ever have this where you check into a hotel late
Starting point is 00:31:46 or you check in whatever. You get back late. There's no person at the front desk and you don't see any actual people from A to B. Then you get in your room, you're like, I don't know anyone else is in here. Yeah, freaky to me.
Starting point is 00:31:57 One time, and I was doing gigs in Humble, and we were staying in a hotel the last weekend that it was in business. And like the whole, they gave, it was me and Sam Talent. They just gave us like a wing. Uh-huh. And it was, it felt scary. Yeah, I don't like all that. That Widows Bay episode.
Starting point is 00:32:11 Also, we punched a hole in the wall. Yeah. You should. Yeah. Well, obviously, why not? We were taking stuff, like, paying up. I would have thrown a chair through a wall. It would be doing that.
Starting point is 00:32:20 I would have tried. I would have thrown a chair against the wall. I like how it's going through the water I picked up a big old steel chair with grenades all over it kind of guy like me throwing it sure little goes with a wall built different dog in me
Starting point is 00:32:35 freakiest hotel room I ever saw you open the door like it's a regular hotel room and you look to the left and there's a downstairs it was the freakyest shit I ever saw in my whole entire life did not like it did not like it
Starting point is 00:32:50 I stayed in the hotel in Montana one time with mirrors on the ceiling. Okay, that's a different. That's a old school freak. It was also a hotel where they had, it was, they had one of those mermaid bars. What is that? Oh, where they're
Starting point is 00:33:04 swimming like behind it? There's girls like swimming down behind the bar. In Montana? Yeah, it was in Montana. It was a one-nighter with Catherine Blanford. It was the first time I met Catherine Blanford. Was it Missoula or Bozeman? I think it was
Starting point is 00:33:19 Bozeman. The gig was called the Newberry. It's like a small town. Yeah. And the town is known for that bar. Okay. Oh. They built that room for Linda Blair and Rick James one night. They built it around them.
Starting point is 00:33:33 On a little road trip. That's where he wrote cold blood. He was cold. He was in Montana. Time for my first and second picks. With my first pick, I'm going to take The Godfather. Hey, that's a good one. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:46 Oh, yeah. Yep. It's a good movie. It's a good movie. I've heard of it. I struggle between it and the other one. The franchise. The second.
Starting point is 00:33:54 Part three. Godfather Jr. Godfather Jr. The Godfather strikes back. Yeah, which one do you like better? Do you feel like? After a lot of going back and forth, I do think I like the first one more.
Starting point is 00:34:08 I think I like the wedding at the beginning a whole lot. Like the beginning and the end of the Godfather. The whole thing is great. The second one's where they go to the mattresses? Second one, I, you know, I couldn't tell you exactly which one they go to the mattresses. It's like Michael comes to the time jumps. Michael goes to Italy and then... Second one.
Starting point is 00:34:23 That's the second one. And then he kind of comes into his own at the end, right? I got to go back on the first one. That's the first one. Oh, I got to go back and watch this. I've only seen him once each one time. The second one... I think I've only seen him each one time.
Starting point is 00:34:34 Second one is Robert De Niro playing Marlon Brando's character, like comes to New York. Oh. And it's the parallel of his story with Michael's story. Michael's losing it. But I feel like I always confuse that with Once Upon a Time and a Man.
Starting point is 00:34:47 There's a lot of those movies that kind of, they all run together for me. And I know that's not great. That's okay. It's good. No, it's fine. You're an aunt. You hate Italian.
Starting point is 00:34:56 Or we just drafted Italians not 24 hours ago. You hate Italian stereotypes. And you're like, show me a movie about an Italian business owner. There he goes. A teacher. I'm just like that guy who hung out with Dr. Melfield. Yeah. There's plenty.
Starting point is 00:35:09 A bus driver who's in the mob. There's plenty. Well, once upon time in America. Oh, yeah. Yeah. There we go. But yeah, the Godfather. I think the first one of the two.
Starting point is 00:35:18 But the second one is great, too. The second one where the. they get that guy who's going to rat on everybody. I forget, I can't remember the character's names, but then they bring his brother over from the old country and put him in the crowd of the trial. And he's like, I can't remember so good all of a sudden. I can't remember.
Starting point is 00:35:31 I don't know. I don't know what it was. And he was about to sing like a canary. Hey. What did he do? No, no, sing. I don't know what it was. I can't remember so good.
Starting point is 00:35:41 It remains my hallmark of a cool person. They will redo the thing they just did the same way. I love it. That's a great one. The Godfather is my first pick. and with my second pick, I'm going to take the Big Lobowski. Oh, it's a good one!
Starting point is 00:35:56 Yeah. Yeah. It's so good. I forget, my wife and I got home. I'm the one that likes it. I'm the one who likes it. It's my... You know who's not the one who likes it is your wife. She loves it. Really? My wife loves the Big Lobowski.
Starting point is 00:36:11 Man, my wife trolls me about it. Really? Why does your wife troll you about the Big Loboski? One time I was like, oh, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. It's like the, like, you know, when that happens in the Big Lobowski, and she's like, oh my god David I love that movie I was like that's why we're oh blah blah blah she's like of course I haven't fucking seen that
Starting point is 00:36:25 oh man it's so good why she troll you about it though because she's funny and it pisses me off it's not a cool girl movie I guess although like I don't know it kind of think it is though it is it's more a movie for guys I suppose you know that bowling
Starting point is 00:36:41 you also want to see all that bowling Phillips Seymour hopping though shut the fuck up Johnny what we're talking about it's so fucking I'm laughing maniacally. And Laura's like, why is it funny? He's so mean to his butt.
Starting point is 00:36:54 I'm like, because we're all mean to each other. That's how it goes. Dog, the way that Philip seemed my favorite part of that movie is when she says, Brick has to watch or brick can't watch her. He has to pay $100. The way Philip Seymour Hoffman goes, it's so good. Wonderful.
Starting point is 00:37:14 No, that movie's amazing, Doug. It's so good. Sam Elliott. It's amazing in it. So the Germans fucking, what's her name? Glea. Julianne Moore. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:25 Is that peak Cohen brothers? And thorough. I think so. I think so. I think that's when they're Cohen and off. They have a long peak, though. They're Cohen Hoff. They're Cohen Hoff.
Starting point is 00:37:34 They're Cohen off. They're Cohen hard. They're Cohen hard. They're going hard in the pain. The Fargo. The Fargo is a great movement. I, I, I, but Big Lobowski's like, it's my favorite. It's also just such a fun story.
Starting point is 00:37:47 Yeah. It's based on a real guy, which is funny. Yeah. He was like an exec, right? The dude? Yeah. No, I think it was some dude they knew, like in Southern California. I thought it was based off an exec.
Starting point is 00:37:58 Maybe. Let me look. But either way. Yeah, I think that movie's amazing. It hits extra hard if you live in L.A., I think, a little bit. Because we all know all that part where they have to go to like North Hollywood. Yeah. It's based on, oh yeah, an independent film producer.
Starting point is 00:38:09 You're right. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, it's just fucking great. Fantastic. It's such a good movie. Sean, time for your second pick. The Ohio.
Starting point is 00:38:19 State. No, we're going to go the Shawshank Redemption. Oh, it's another good one. The Shawshank Redemption. So many good movies to start with that. Why the best? Would it be easier to drop movies that don't? Do all the best movies start with the? Well, it's so going through this, trying to compile a list
Starting point is 00:38:35 and I'll get to ones that I've that are well-tread territory. But I feel like some of these, they're just like, it's, you know, it's just perfect. We haven't talked about Shawshank too much, but, you know, the Shawshank redemption. It's just, it's one of those, anytime I see it on TBS or whatever, done. You know, there's the next, however long of my day.
Starting point is 00:38:52 The older I get, the less I want to watch prison movies is the thing. Well, yeah. Oh, interesting. Did you used to really love prison movies? I used to take them in. I enjoyed a prison movie. Love is not the word I would say, but I used to watch them more. But now as I'm old, I just like don't want to watch that.
Starting point is 00:39:10 I don't watch prison content at all anymore. No. You're not a big, you're not running back Orange is the New Black? No lockup. You're not watching. 60 days in. I just, I just can't.
Starting point is 00:39:21 Life behind the walls. No, I'll tell you, the real gold is prison YouTube. Do not sleep on prison YouTube. I want. It will make me not sleep. It will make me not sleep. Are they YouTubeing from inside prison?
Starting point is 00:39:35 No, but it'll be people who have been in there 20 years and they just have a channel about all the shit that went on in there. It's incredible. I see the guy who makes the snacks and that's about as far as I go. Okay. You know when he makes this, it's like, You want to blah, blah, blah, yeah, I'll make you one.
Starting point is 00:39:51 And then he makes it, and then he goes, bus in. Yeah. That's he, like, teaches you how to make prison snacks? Yeah, basically. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Or, like, one, he made a lighter. Oh. It's, yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:03 Never makes a lighter to his children. The Shawshank. I've seen Shawshank, like, twice. I think I've seen it two times. Cover to cover? Yeah. Have you seen bits and pieces of it a ton? I don't really think so.
Starting point is 00:40:18 No? I know it's one of those ones that was on TV a lot. It's just never really... It's on TBS a lot, yeah. Click for me. It's, you know... They make those beers look good, I'll tell you that. They really do, and I don't...
Starting point is 00:40:27 Beer kind of sucks, so... I've been to see Huatinejo. What the hell is that? That's where they go. That's where they go at the end, where Morgan Freeman gets in there. Oh, that's really been there. Yeah. They, uh, you know, you get busy living, get busy dying.
Starting point is 00:40:38 That's from Shawshank. I'd like to tell you. I know that part. Andy fought the good fight. I'd like to tell you, Andy fought the good fight. Two things happened after that day. That's rough. That shit's brutal.
Starting point is 00:40:47 That shit is brutal. I don't think we talk about the brutality of that movie a lot. When he's fighting them back with a broom? Yeah. What the fuck, man? Second Stephen King. Oh, that's taken so far. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:00 I didn't know you know that. Does he like that one? Because he hates the shining. Does he like... He hates the adaptation of the shining, right? Then he made a worse one later, worse one that he was more involved in. With that dude from wings or maybe the guy who looks like the guy from wings. Yeah, no, it's him.
Starting point is 00:41:12 It's him. It's the guy from wings. Yeah, I remember that one was like a made-for-year. TV almost miniseries, right? It was like two or three. I don't know. I did not watch it. I remember the the hedges came to life in that one. Oh, fun. You're doing it. Because that's what was missing.
Starting point is 00:41:28 Had been out by a plant lion. Stanley Cuber really blew the hedges. What a dip shit. David, how for your second pick? Oh, deer hunter. The deer hunter. I don't know if I've ever seen a deer hunter. Brother, if you want to
Starting point is 00:41:43 watch it go bad for a group of friends. Boy, oh boy. It's kind of the opposite of the wood. Yeah, I was just going to say, if you want to see the opposite of the wood, that shit, it's so fucking good, though. That movie is brutal. It's great. It's baruto. Is that the Russian roulette one?
Starting point is 00:42:00 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Young Merrill Street. But it's so good. It's like, it makes you feel like that, but it is so fucking good. And it starts, they live in. Young walking. Young walking in Memphis. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:14 Young. Young 10 feet off a beale And feet Young Walking in Memphis You ever listen to that song? Pretty good right What song?
Starting point is 00:42:25 Walking in Memphis? I don't know that song You do It's so bad You love that song Why do I know this song You love that song But I can't remember it at all
Starting point is 00:42:33 It was a smash hit in 93 Tell me are you a Christian child And I said Mamma I am tonight That sounds like something you're making up Walking in Memphis Walking him ever Walking with my feet 10 feet off a be you.
Starting point is 00:42:46 Just because you did it at the same time doesn't mean it's real. What if all three of us do it at the same time? What if all four of us? I have to get it on this. I don't know this song. See? Walking in Memphis. It's like the most, it's like McDonald's wrote a song about Memphis.
Starting point is 00:42:59 It sounds terrible. It does sound like a really bad. It's so bad. But why do y'all know it so well? I thought it was a hit. I thought it was a mad popular. It was in the air. It sounds awful.
Starting point is 00:43:09 It's no next. It's no next. It's no next. It's no next. Mark Cohen. could get boners, I bet. I think there's an implied boner in that song, even though he never addresses it.
Starting point is 00:43:17 I mean, Wet Memphis is an implied bonus. And that's why he's 10 feet off of it. You sounded like you just said, Wet Memphis. Wet Memphis. That's what I heard. I think that's your new rap name.
Starting point is 00:43:26 Wet Memphis? No, there's a lot of, there's a lot wetter and a lot more Memphis. Lettest, let's be honest. No wet Memphis stolen valor. Today we're drafting wetest parts of Memphis. Somebody's going to come for that.
Starting point is 00:43:39 I'll run it by Shane Brennan. I'm a real wet Memphis. Shane's my Memphis hook. I got to do with that. He's going to have championship belt over soda again. I stole Wet Memphis's career. Then you've got to change your name to less wet Memphis.
Starting point is 00:43:50 Less Wet Memphis. Moist Memphis? Noise Memphis. The Deer Hunter. Yeah, it's pretty. If you haven't seen it, man. I have not seen it. Is that where they learn like Pennsylvania?
Starting point is 00:44:03 Yeah. It's an investment. It's like you only have to see it once or twice, but it's just so fucking good. You'll never hear D.D. Mow the same way. I'll tell you that. Oh, man. Everything about this movie sounds like I don't want to watch it.
Starting point is 00:44:17 You don't. Everything that you're saying is about it. I don't know. To me, I would rather watch it than the Shoshank Redemption. Interesting. It's one of the John Cazel's four movies. Who? John Cazale?
Starting point is 00:44:30 Fredo? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Mike, time for your second and third picks. Okay, okay. My third, I'm going to go with a classic movie, but I really only recently saw it for the first. first time and thought it was fucking amazing the Texas chainsaw
Starting point is 00:44:45 mask oh yeah the first one yeah it is so scary it's real good no I haven't I haven't seen any of the the ones that came after not the Jessica Biel I see is that even real because I don't trust anything you say Sean the Rob's told me ones I don't think they're terrible
Starting point is 00:45:01 everyone else's first mistake is trust in anything I say their second mistake is not trust their second mistake is turning their back on me don't you hear in today is real leather face I'm going to see my voter if you're not looking at me. That movie is so visceral. It is.
Starting point is 00:45:17 Right. And the fact that all of that's, this is what really freaks me out, all of it could happen. There's nothing supernatural in that one. It's just some family going nuts. Yeah, especially in a days before cell phones and internet and shit. Yeah, you could just have a crazy family who has been doing crazy shit for a long-ass time and a car that breaks down. And yes, you could very easy. And one of them is the cop.
Starting point is 00:45:37 And like, I think that driving late night, driving, like, I don't know, if I'm back home in South Dakota or something. driving just where there's no one. You're like, it could happen. This is where it goes. It's also, I find myself in that situation so many times in this life.
Starting point is 00:45:50 You know this life of rag tag performing? Going town to town with nothing but your wits in a rental car. Just get your harmonica and all your belongings on a bag on a stick. Yeah, even peanut butter. You have a bendal. I bet it would be harder to kill somebody
Starting point is 00:46:07 with a chainsaw than that movie makes it look. Yeah, it's pretty heavy. It's nice to dance with, though. At the end there. The old chainsaw dance. It's very good. It's just feeling it wouldn't be as needed a jab in there. You ever been to a haunted house with a chainsaw guy?
Starting point is 00:46:20 I haven't been to a haunted house. Whoa. We should crack that chair. Oh, okay. Do you, uh, you know one of the scariest moments I've ever had in my life in the wax museum in Hollywood? Yeah. They have a scary movie section.
Starting point is 00:46:34 Oh, no. And it turned me into a small child. Is there a real guy in there? No. Okay. No. It's just a lone, dark, dark, hallway full of scary
Starting point is 00:46:42 wax shit. I hate that. Yeah, it's fucked up. Why are they all hanging out? Now they're giving each other strategies. Why are they all? They're all just like, you should not die. I don't die.
Starting point is 00:46:52 I don't die. It's the best. Yeah, I'm from hell. Where are you? I'm from Manhattan in one of the movies. Oh, man. Yeah, dude. Texas chains up based on Ed Gein, right?
Starting point is 00:47:02 Yep. Yeah, based on it. They should have a real guy in the wax section. Like, there should be like, don't give them my views. Every other day leather face should be real. and then it's like Chuck he's a real dude. But he has a QR code, let me go.
Starting point is 00:47:14 He has a QR code and he wants you to follow him on Instagram. Now you go. Chuck, he doesn't see. Because he's an actor. He's like, I don't just do this. I do a lot of stuff. I can, I know I can get to where you live. And your next pick, Mike.
Starting point is 00:47:27 The thing. Oh, it's so good. The thing. You're going all scary so far. That's right. Yeah. Because I've been watching a lot of scary movies now that I'm single. You're doing around watching.
Starting point is 00:47:37 Oh, scary movies by myself. Man. for it. We are single different. Yeah. Yeah. The thing is always good. It's very fucking good.
Starting point is 00:47:48 God, that movie's great. All of the effects, the practical effects and shit, that's insane. You know, Russell stuff. Smoke show. I mean. Yeah. I don't trust that helicopter for a second in the beginning of that movie. It's true.
Starting point is 00:48:02 I'll tell you the nice thing about washing the thing right now because it looks so cold that it makes you feel a little colder. Yeah. In the middle of summer, that's a nice thing to move. Nice way to cool. If you don't have air conditioning, you can just loop the thing. For the king on. The thing on.
Starting point is 00:48:13 The king. The king. The king. The king. The king. The king with the thing. What's that? That's what it was missing.
Starting point is 00:48:21 It was a rap song. It was a B and C song. They should have had that. About God. They should have played at the end. It really should have. It had to pick a part of that movie to put it in. It'd be so hard.
Starting point is 00:48:32 I don't know where it's going. You could put it like everywhere? Yeah. I don't know. Keep it going. Just keep it going. Do they, does the thing escape from me? Antarctica at the end of it. I can't remember.
Starting point is 00:48:42 Spoiler alert coming up, I guess. The way that they do it is there's that last scene at the end with Kurt Russell and I forgot the other character's name and you don't know if this guy is the thing or this video person and they leave it open and it on purpose. That's right. So you don't know. Could be the real guy? It could be
Starting point is 00:48:58 the thing. Man, I haven't seen the thing in a couple years. It's very good. Is that John Carpenter? John Carpenter. More like John Director. He has another Johnny Philbaker. He has another, he has a Another good the movie. Oh. That could come up in this.
Starting point is 00:49:14 Well, I mean, that you might be watching single. Is it, is it, is it, is it, is it, is it,
Starting point is 00:49:19 is it? I'm not picking it. Ah. My pick does rhyme with the thing, though. Tees. I'm taking,
Starting point is 00:49:25 I watch this pretty much every year, once a year, I'm taking the sting. Oh, I'm never, okay. I fucking,
Starting point is 00:49:31 the sting. Robert Redford and, uh, I can't remember his name. Whoa. Paul Newman. Robert Redford and Paul Newman, movie starring on.
Starting point is 00:49:39 I love a fucking heist I love the music I love that they say Yafala all the time Yafala I love The outfits are great I love trickery
Starting point is 00:49:49 I love cards I love it when he covers himself in the gin And then like It's just like I love an elaborate setup To fuck somebody over It's Ocean's 11
Starting point is 00:49:58 Before Ocean's 11 It's that kind of energy It's such a good It's two handsome guys goofing around Yeah It's so much fun It's so much fun I've never seen it
Starting point is 00:50:05 I gotta get on that You would really I think you'd really enjoy I haven't seen it since I was a child and I remember nothing. Really? Oh, man, it's a fun movie. It's on Netflix, I think.
Starting point is 00:50:14 Yeah, Fala? I got to watch it. You got Robert Shaw's in that, isn't that some bitch? Yeah. I really like... Breeden's in that some bitch? It's got, uh... It's got...
Starting point is 00:50:22 The one guy has the craziest head. The one bad guy just has a crazy shaped head. Okay. It's just, uh, Doyle... No, what's his name of the baby? I don't know, man. That movie is a lot of fun. Some of those dudes with crazy heads like Ron Perlman
Starting point is 00:50:34 where he's like, holy cow. I saw him in real life one time. And it was... I did too. His head is so big. I've got a sneaky big head. Is it Peter Weller? The guy who play Robocom.
Starting point is 00:50:46 Oh, yes. Huge fucking hate. He came to my wife's book release. He's like a historian now, Peter Weller. He's got a lot of room to keep history. A lot of room to keep friends up there. He like left Hollywood behind and became like a Renaissance history professor. Wait.
Starting point is 00:51:04 Peter Weller. Who is Robocop. Yeah, where are you going from Robocop? Because the guy who wrote Robocop. son was my manager for a while. Is that right? Roto cop. Wait.
Starting point is 00:51:16 No, yeah, yeah, yeah. He wrote, I liked it. Oh, that was good. Got it, got it, got a gun. That's great. That's my bad. That's my bad. Then there's that movie Rob O'Cop about the Irish guy.
Starting point is 00:51:27 Yeah, Robbocop. The end he leaves in a robocop. Your third pick? Well, here's a real horror movie for a single guy. I'll tell you that. I love it to pieces. notebook. Commentary.
Starting point is 00:51:42 And you want to get freaked out. You love the notebook. I've never seen the notebook. You do love the notebook. This guy fucking loves the notebook. Isn't this traditionally a ladies' lady's favorite movie? Aye.
Starting point is 00:51:53 So is it just drowning in romance and like what is? Kind of crush gender norms in here, bro. Okay. Like we crush them. That's so sick. Kind of take them like a used beer can and crush it. Imagine this is the paradigm. And I'm sorry, this is an audio medium.
Starting point is 00:52:06 We're shifting it. Oh gosh. That's the paradigm. and we've shifted it. And if God's watching, I think she approves. Wonderful. I think she's just a slob like one of us. Yeah, she might be.
Starting point is 00:52:16 Is she a bum? Yeah, is she a hobo riding the rails? Just a stranger on a bus. Appore mentioned Bindle. The notebook, man. Nobody calls him on the phone. No, God, no. She doesn't have a phone.
Starting point is 00:52:29 Ryan Gosling. Gosling. Rachel McAdams. The two, the older version of themselves, are both famous in like old Hollywood. I don't know either one of their. James Garner. James Garner and I think we just lost the...
Starting point is 00:52:42 Gina Rollins. Yeah. Yeah. They're both fantastic. It's got a little Kevin Connolly in there. James Marsden might be the most handsome person on the planet. Cyclops. Yes.
Starting point is 00:52:52 So you told me in person he's like the hottest person you've ever seen. Incredibly handsome, very nice. We got into a push-up contest. We were supposed to get into a rollerblade race. This was back when I was on Chelsea lately. This was all supposed to be on the same day. Yeah. That's not.
Starting point is 00:53:06 I still have the rollerblade somewhere. because he's a rollerblader I got my blades right now Yeah He was like Where are you at James He's like I don't really want to do the rollerblade thing I was like push up contest
Starting point is 00:53:17 And we did a pushup contest It was back when I was pushing four bills Fucking knocked them out Holy shit Fucking knocked him out Yeah the notebook Classic love story It's yeah it's just
Starting point is 00:53:28 Everything is fantastic about it I watch it's one of my plane movies Okay That's it And I cry every single time I got to watch a notebook I've never seen it Oh well we're gonna get to my third pick

Especially if you're traveling at any point, if you're going to be bouncing around the world, why not learn how to communicate with actual phrases that are going to get you there, not just things like, you know, where's the bathroom, but stuff where you can find like a nice restaurant, all that stuff. Starting point is 00:57:30 What did you think? I thought it could have used some moving hedges. Absolutely. I can really hear it over me weeping, but, you know, the vision is not achieved. With my third pick, I'm going to take, I feel bad getting all these amazing movies, but I guess it's all amazing movies.
Starting point is 00:57:44 The Princess Bride. Oh, God. Inconceivable. I don't think that word means what you think. Yeah, that movie's so fun. It's incredible. It's so good. Not breaking any new grant here saying the Princess Bride is good,
Starting point is 00:57:58 but I think it's one of my five favorite. movies. It's phenomenal. William Goldman, who wrote it, also wrote the book that he adapted his own book. The book, The Princess Bride, I'm not going to say it's better, but it's like different enough that it's so it's just so fucking good. The book is so
Starting point is 00:58:15 fucking good. Yeah? It's amazing. Shout to Fred Savage. Shout to Fred Savage. I love a movie where a kid interrupts in the middle. Yeah. Wait, Grandpa. Oh, mini, Grandpa. Every movie should have that. Yeah. We can edit that in every movie.
Starting point is 00:58:30 Yeah. You're watching heat and then like after the bank robbery scene he's like, wait a minute, grandpa. We can do it with music videos too. You stopped grandpa because you had a boner? You said no kissing. She was too close. We could just edit the Fred Savage scenes into literally any movie.
Starting point is 00:58:50 That would be if I was good at stuff. Right? If one of you is out there, please edit that into like a pretty funny movie scene and then send it to us. Send it over to us. We'll get it out there. Sean will forget your name and I'll give you any credit for it.
Starting point is 00:59:03 Whoa. Damn. And he won't send you any liquid IV. Jesus. Whoa. This is all true. John forgot to bring liquid IV in person the other guy. I brought two.
Starting point is 00:59:13 I did bring two. One for him, one for me. Yeah. How many are you sitting on? I'm, it's, I brought one last bag here for this trip to keep at Andy's house and then it's all gone. Well, liquid IV. We'd love some more. Oh, it was free.
Starting point is 00:59:26 Free. Okay. Listen, these two knuckleheads think I didn't cut them in on my liquid IV. Because he didn't. It's kind of like how I think we're doing a graph right now. Did you notice how he just referenced it as my liquid IV? I mean, it kind of did. I definitely understood it to be his.
Starting point is 00:59:42 It was all said to me. He said he didn't cut it. At my home. He said he didn't cut us in. When the Netflix documentary about this comes out, this will for sure be like. This is our heist. Yeah, this is our heist right here. Look how thirsty Dave and I look.
Starting point is 00:59:56 I thought you were a better friend in that, Sean. He's not. He thought wrong. That's part of the mystery. And then I tried to buy some liquid IV. It's expensive. It's expensive. You can buy some for me at a discount of rate.
Starting point is 01:00:07 I bet I can't. Robin Wright. At arguably the most beautiful anyone's ever looked. Oh, she's so incredible. Other than my wife, gorgeous. Billy Crystal, Mandy Patankan. Wallachian? Up in that thing?
Starting point is 01:00:19 Mm-hmm. Andre the Giant. Andre the Giant. Yeah. There are so many good movies here. Okay, speaking of my wife, I have to take the first movie we watched together, one of my favorite movies ever. Kind of a Christmas movie? The apartment.
Starting point is 01:00:34 I've taken it a lot on this podcast. Nothing new to say about it. If you've never seen the apartment, go wash the apartment. Shirley MacLean. I don't know this movie. No, I don't know. Only seen it the one time with you. It's so good.
Starting point is 01:00:48 And, yeah. You could have been my wife. Might have been accompanied by a couple of glasses of Jameson. Fred McMurray's in that thing. It's great. It's so good. It's about a dude who works at a company who lets his bosses use his apartment to have affairs. Oh, Jesus.
Starting point is 01:01:02 In exchange for, like, rising up the ladder at work. A little smash pad. That's a smash pad. Exactly right. But it's so, it's just a fucking perfect movie. I pulled up the images here on the old Google images. Jack Lemon is making some amazing faces. Absolutely.
Starting point is 01:01:16 Oh, it's a big Jack Lemmon face. He had a good face for comedy, man. Sherlock McLean is, like, gorgeous in it. Him and Mathau. Yeah. Oh, yeah, those two? Old Mathow? He looks like a puppet
Starting point is 01:01:28 He does. He does. He does. He does. He really. It looks like a Staler Waldorf. Like, yeah. Like he bulldog puppet.
Starting point is 01:01:36 Anyway, I can't recommend it enough. Sean, your fourth pick. I mean, I just gotta be a dude for a second here. I'm going to pick the Terminator. Terminator. Sure. The Terminator. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 01:01:50 It's like it's, again. Women can like the Terminator. I thought you were a feminist. No, what? Yeah. I don't know. I don't know about all that I don't know if I'm feeling that today
Starting point is 01:02:00 The Terminator That freaked me out When he's in the police station And she's like under the desk And he's just cop, cop Like everyone's getting it It's so scary It's like such a dominating figure
Starting point is 01:02:11 That's what I used to think Zeus was like When he wrestled Remember when Zeus like wrestled Hulk? And it would freak me out for real You destroy you I'm like nobody can do that Like the whole stadium would get together And nobody can take that guy down
Starting point is 01:02:23 Yeah I get that vibe in the Terminator Yeah He was a terrible A terrible wrestler, by the way. Zeus? This was? Dibo?
Starting point is 01:02:28 Was he? Awful. Did he have a move? I think he did the thing where he hit you on the side of the ears with his wrists. That's a bad move. Like that thing. Oh, yeah, because he had these big gold, like Zeus, Zeus wrist bands. Would he ever clap him together and then like get a power surge?
Starting point is 01:02:47 No, he should have. Somebody should have told him to do that. Man, there's a tiny lister. He didn't have anyone around to tell him no. I just went and saw wrestling last week. Scared the shit out of me. Where'd you go? RPW?
Starting point is 01:02:57 RPW? No, let me find the name. I got some crazy. I got some crazy pictures. Delete all this. Yeah, we saw, I went to... Yeah, RPW. I don't even know where that is.
Starting point is 01:03:09 Brother, it was a lot of this going on. Oh, it was death matches. It was scary. What's a death match? Man. You know, sometimes you'll get a cheese grater to the forehead. Oh, you might get. Look at that.
Starting point is 01:03:20 You might... They had like this barbed wire thing filled with, like, glass bulbs and they throw him in it. I was like afterwards, I was like, this might be the most violent thing I've ever seen. And then I had a crazy dream. Oh, God. All by that.
Starting point is 01:03:33 It went right in you. Yeah, look at that. It went right in him. Oh, Jesus. Yeah, it was fucked up. It's not good. And those guys, they make like 50 bucks. That's good for you.
Starting point is 01:03:42 Yeah, so my buddy was doing it. I have this buddy from Oklahoma. Shout out to Buddy. Buddy Badcock is what he wrestles under. That's great. And he was like, I'm going to be in town. You want to come to this shit. And then I went and saw it.
Starting point is 01:03:52 Because, you know, I like a live event. Yeah, you do like a weird live event. So if you're backyard wrestling, are you trying to get on? Well, this was inside. Well, like, but it's backyard energy. Backyard energy in the bar. Are you trying to get to the next step, like doing an open mic as a stand-up or something? My buddy just loves it.
Starting point is 01:04:09 He used to be a fighter and then he reft fights for a while, I think, and then now he wrestles. It just seems nuts, man. A thumbtack. Tons of thumbtacks to the back. I'm going to do it to you in the next episode. Florescent light to over the hands. Oh, my God, bro, they went through so many light tubes. And at some point the dust was getting, I had to back up.
Starting point is 01:04:29 They were busing light tubes. Really? Yeah, it was pretty. And there was not a lot of people there. It was like, it was like. Empty seats and they're just killing themselves. It was probably 100. There wasn't even 100 people tops.
Starting point is 01:04:42 There wasn't even AC. It was, it was, it was really intense. In a way, it kind of feels like what you want out of that experience. No, it was community. Everybody knew everybody. You don't want to be very comfortable. And then one guy thought, he was like, I saw you at the person. be a G and I was like, yeah, man, I love the G.
Starting point is 01:04:57 You're old the cheese grader? No, yeah, no, he didn't see me there. But I was just like, I get intoxicated on camaraderie in situations like that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You want to give him. You want to give him. With people's lies. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:08 I was like, man, this is cool. I eat a chili dog. I'm out. Great. It's like glass in your chili dog. That's not. No, the chili dog was before the glass. I made sure.
Starting point is 01:05:17 Christine. All right. Yeah, I made sure. You know, I wrestled a match. And David was, you don't know if you remember. Oh my God. I did a pro-wrestle. I did a pro-wrestle once.
Starting point is 01:05:28 And David was in the documentary I shot. No, I'm wearing the same underwear as David right now. There we go. Are you really? That's so funny. I'm sorry to interrupt. What the fuck is going on here? This is insane.
Starting point is 01:05:41 We got it for free. Oh, okay. Well, then thank you for saying something that made sense. I completely forgot about that. All right. Unclick that window. Keep going. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:05:51 That was crazy. Where did you wrestle? I wrestled in Louisville, Kentucky. I had to get a Kentucky wrestling license. What is that thing? It took a lot of physicals. I had to go get a lot of physicals. Not the kind you think.
Starting point is 01:06:03 Not the... To make love to the commissioner's wife. By the way, real quick, shout out Gus Merwin. Thanks for the underwear. Yeah, thank you, guys. Oh, yeah, thank you, guys. I've been wearing the shit out of that underwear. These are great.
Starting point is 01:06:15 I love them. Yeah, they're all-in-wear-duty trading company right now. You can see him. I'm so happy that y'all... Wait, so yours don't have construction equipment on them? These are ones that I bought before that. Oh, I have the brown ones. Yeah, me too.
Starting point is 01:06:26 I have two of these. Not only did I keep the liquid IV, but I kept the adult underwear. Yeah. Gave and you guys got it. You're holding out underwear. If you were holding out, if you were holding out Excel box or briefs. Mine look like an eight-year-old boy's wallpaper. Yeah, I like that though.
Starting point is 01:06:42 Because now there's no who's going to see my underwear? Yeah. My wife. They've all been parked out. And the Kentucky wrestling commissioners. Yeah. She got a really. She got it real good.
Starting point is 01:06:52 You were there in Kentucky? No, it was here. I shot some stuff for the documentary part of here. Oh, nice. Okay, great. I went out there to do it. How was it? It was amazing.
Starting point is 01:07:04 Yeah. It was one of the best days of my life. Mick Foley was in my match. Wow. It was great. It was fucking great. Did it get hurt? Yeah, I got her training.
Starting point is 01:07:13 I was hurt before the thing even started. I've made them nothing. No, they're athletes. Yeah. Yeah, for real. Oh, for days. Yeah, yeah. David, your fourth pick.
Starting point is 01:07:23 Fourth pick. Oh, the Nutty Professor. Ooh, wonderful. There we go. There we go. I've talked about it so many times. Formative, I don't think I'd be here doing comedy if I hadn't seen that movie. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:35 We saw it that summer that we went to visit Atlanta. We went to visit my mom's friend in Atlanta. We went to the movie theater to see the Nutty Professor. I remember it was so hot that night. And like, I don't think I ever seen any comedic, a performance affect a group of people like I like in my head
Starting point is 01:07:55 I remember that people were crying yeah probably they were it was just like a theater full of black people watching the Nutty Professor for the first time like when the they went around the table
Starting point is 01:08:05 oh my God I remember being a kid and I'm like I don't think there's ever been anything that's better than me it was so fucking funny it's just like and then you realize
Starting point is 01:08:14 it's all him yeah and he's just what he did in that movie I don't think we give credit I really think honestly You sure want to ask her. I'm yelling.
Starting point is 01:08:24 I think that Big Mama's house besmirched a lot of the nutty professor legacy. Yeah. Because people lump those in together, and no offense to Martin, big mama's house is not a masterpiece. He didn't, like, really go crazy. It wasn't. Eddie Murphy, even Eddie Murphy is his own brother in that. Where's like, you got to work out. Carvolo.
Starting point is 01:08:46 Like, and then the grandma, like, I. The character's crazy. Shut this knife down the crack of your ass. Like, Mike Douglas used to make me moist. Like, bro, he just goes so nuts. He goes so nuts. Here's who the Oscars for Best Actor in a Leading Rule that year. Okay.
Starting point is 01:09:04 Jeffrey Rush and Shine. Boo! Tom Cruise and Jerry McGuire. Okay. Yeah. Ray finds him the English patient. Okay. Woody Harrelson and the People versus Larry Flynn.
Starting point is 01:09:13 That movie sucked. Yeah. And Billy Bob Thornton and Slingblade. We couldn't have gotten Eddie Murphy in there? You shouldn't have done that? He's just a boy? Hercules. Hercules.
Starting point is 01:09:21 He could have gotten Eddie Murphy in there for sure. He should. That was a bigger acting performance than any of it. Has he won one? I don't think so. No, Dreamgirls he got snubbed. Yeah, I would go so far as to say, I think that's the height of Eddie Murphy at his powers. I think that that movie was the height of it.
Starting point is 01:09:36 Because he had always snuck in like a little bit of character stuff. Like he does it a little bit and like coming to America and stuff like that. But I feel like, man, he just, it's so funny. Yeah. It's so funny now. Tap Dave Chappelle is the new king Yeah You know what like
Starting point is 01:09:52 Got complicated In the comedy clubs I forgot about that Yeah Okay I got some He was Richard Simmons He did Richard Simmons in that Shit
Starting point is 01:10:00 I had some deep Mike Eagle lore When I was a small child Not a small child I guess I had to be in High School Me and my dad And his girlfriend
Starting point is 01:10:10 We did background On Nutty Professor 2 Wow And my dad got admonished Because he was having a conversation with Janet Jackson when he wasn't supposed to. You have to.
Starting point is 01:10:24 Worth it. Yes, fucking worth it? Yes, fucking worse. First of all, shout out to the clumps. Not a professor to the clumps. Did not know they shot that in Chicago. No, no, no, in L.A.
Starting point is 01:10:36 Oh, yeah. So we just walked back and forth on UCLA's campus. That's awesome. Deep in the background. That's awesome. But close enough to talk to Janice. Well, yeah, my dad's scene was he was like a report.
Starting point is 01:10:49 You're not at one of them scenes where somebody is like and there's a bunch of reporters. Yeah, yeah, yeah. My dad was like in one of those scenes. Man, that's awesome. Yeah, it was cool. That is really cool. And so is the nutty professor.
Starting point is 01:11:01 Yes, it is. I'm a pony. There's just so many lines. Mike, time for your fourth and then your final picks. Okay, so for my fourth pick, I'm going a little bit off the beaten path. I'm going multi-part documentary series. Oh.
Starting point is 01:11:14 The Last Dance. Wow, what a great. Wow. Last their dance. Yes, best ones. Oh, so good. The last dance came out when we really needed it. We needed it real bad.
Starting point is 01:11:25 We needed it bad. It was like, man, those weeks of pandemic, it was the highlight of my week. Fridays. Yeah. Friday. Oh, my God. And I was still drinking a lot. I had a glass full of whiskey.
Starting point is 01:11:37 You and Michael Jordan. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. If you side by side in our eyes. Equally yellow. Which is which. Slide one or slide two? Slide one or slide two.
Starting point is 01:11:51 I mean, why is his whiskey glass at a different level in every shot? One of the best days of that early pandemic period a last dance came out that same day, Corden sent us like via
Starting point is 01:12:02 some company a make your own pizza kit. Like remember we were like trying to keep restaurants alive? Yeah. So like maybe John and Vindy's or something was doing like you can buy these make your own pizza kits.
Starting point is 01:12:12 It got delivered. So that showed up. at the house, a new episode of The Last Dance, and it was one of the ones where after it was over, Nike dropped an exclusive pair of Jordans. I made the pizza, watched the thing, got the Jordan. The fives! The fives!
Starting point is 01:12:25 Oh, do you remember? We got the inside plug on that. Yes, we did. We gave it to us. Was it a... Jason Bourne. I remember I remember because we got... We got heads up. Somebody gave us a heads up. Hey, these are dropping after... Yeah. Or something like that.
Starting point is 01:12:43 Something like that. Because the only time I've ever got anything on the sneakers app. Yeah. I don't know if it was. Mine isn't somebody else. Why are you censoring? Will you bleep that out? Because he's...
Starting point is 01:12:52 I don't know. Whatever. Yeah, I remember that. The last dance is a great big. Great bitch. Yeah, that's... I didn't even... You're on a different plane.
Starting point is 01:13:01 That was great. It's one long movie. Yeah. It was very... Yeah. It wasn't it up for Oscar consideration or was that how to make it in America? I think that's just how we felt. OJ made to America.
Starting point is 01:13:10 That was just your Oscars of your heart. I don't. I don't. I don't care if it's not technically a movie. We're counting it. Yeah, 100%. My last pick, I'm going to go with the Royal Tannenbaum. Yeah, that's fucking right.
Starting point is 01:13:23 Man, perfect. That movie's so good. It's just a great, great movie. So beautiful. One of Wes Anderson's finest. Yes. That might be my favorite Wes Anderson movie. Oh.
Starting point is 01:13:34 Pretty good, man. Bottle Rocket, really. I like the Grand Budapest a lot. That's my favorite. And I am a, an asteroid city supporter. I'm with you. I really like a movie. I loved it a lot. I thought it was great.
Starting point is 01:13:48 Yeah, I really enjoyed that movie a lot. I thought about that movie. I don't know why people hate that one. I don't know. I don't understand people. I feel like that's the one where he was actually trying to like show his feelings about something. Yes. You know? I'm like, why would you not like this one? It wasn't just beautiful vignette. It was that too, but it was like a little bit of like storytelling and repetition and memory. Yeah. And it felt like like a commentary.
Starting point is 01:14:11 his, it felt like a little bit of his commentary on filmmaking and art and shit and I'm like, this is what I want. I loved it. And I was so shocked everybody hated it. And I just enjoyed it on its own merits. Just like without it having to be about something on both levels. I'm with, thank God, Mike. It's very good. Very good movie. A lot of people
Starting point is 01:14:27 love to give that shit. Royal Tannenbaum's fucking phenomenal too. Yep. But yeah, Grand Budapest, since we're talking about it now, that's my favorite. That movie is. It's incredible. That's one of my airplane movies. I'll watch it anytime. Anytime. If it's one of the options, I'll skip over stuff I've been meaning to watch. Yeah. So good. With Rushmore for everybody.
Starting point is 01:14:44 That's always been my favorite. I love the Rushmore. I love Rushmore. I've seen Bottle Rocket the most times. I think I've seen Roushmore more than I've seen Bottle Rocket. Like I don't know I only seen Bottle Rocket like twice. Also, Bada Rocket, he just feels so hungry. It feels so different than the other ones.
Starting point is 01:14:58 And Owen Wilson's going off. Yeah, yeah. But this isn't about Bottle Rock. We should draft West Anderson movie sometime. Yeah, we should. I think we're just enough. We can auction draft it tonight. David, time for your final pick.
Starting point is 01:15:10 Oh, you. know what? I've never talked about this movie on here, but I enjoyed a lot. I'm picking the raid. Yes. I've never seen a raid. Oh, it's nice. Great. Now, if you're worried about action, you don't watch the raid. Is that what? Sinang-sanong, yeah, that was that.
Starting point is 01:15:25 Finn premise, there's an apartment complex in Jakarta. Something like that. Yeah. That they got to take over. One guy gets lost from his team, and then he just beats so much ass. The premise is, so much Nintendo's kung fu, but with guns. You just go up floors till you get the final box.
Starting point is 01:15:41 It's so much so that I don't know the difference between it and Raid 2. Well, that's redemption. There's a two. He has to redeem himself. Something is redeemed to the second. Is there a quality difference between Raid 1 and Raid 2? Not that I remember. No, they're both fucking great.
Starting point is 01:15:55 One is... They're John Wicks. Yeah, yeah. But cooler. It's like not really story. Right to the movie. Yeah. It's those movies.
Starting point is 01:16:04 They bring a guy back who dies in the first spoiler. The guy dies in the first one. He's in the second one is a different person. Just because he's so dope. That's what I'm like, yeah. Of course, so many guys get punched. If you're looking for a movie where a lot of guys get punched. In different ways.
Starting point is 01:16:17 This is the one for you. And then all kinds of jumps and flips and you think he's down and then he's back up. It's, yeah, the raid, man. That final fight scene, I think in the first one and the rest of hotel kitchen to the ballroom or whatever. Like, I didn't know somebody could get cut that many times with a knife. Yeah. And still. Probably can't.
Starting point is 01:16:37 Truthfully, you cut me with a knife twice. You win. One time out. Two times, two times, if I'm defending the family twice. Yeah. Ow! Ow! I said, I said stop. Stop!
Starting point is 01:16:52 Stop! I'm not joking. You're being a dickhead. Sean, your final pick? I'm gonna pick the cable guy. Hey. Nice. I'm Ricky Ricardo. It's so, it's slept on.
Starting point is 01:17:03 It didn't get accredited it deserved. It's so dark. That's Judd Apatow, right? Judd Apatow. First swing in a movie, I think. Yeah. Jack Black. playing basketball.
Starting point is 01:17:12 Jack Black's in there. Matthew Broderick killing it. Leslie Mann. Little James Carey. Man, he really unloaded who he was going to unload on us. Yeah. He set the tone. Yeah, he did.
Starting point is 01:17:23 Yeah, like Leslie Mann that early. Were they married? They've been married. Were they married at that point? On the cable guy. Yeah, I think so. I think they met there and then Judson opportunity. Yeah, a little work.
Starting point is 01:17:35 To have her in every movie for free. Yeah. Oh, she got paid for sure. I bet she for sure. That one is not going. We're in a John Appetow's pocket. I was just being humorous. Is that what you think the director pays?
Starting point is 01:17:45 Guys, I know how movies were. I'm in Los Angeles right now. Okay, action, cut. It out. Key grip. Doesn't give a shit. Worst boy grip. Now there's a band name.
Starting point is 01:18:00 Worse boy grip. A little too close. A little too close. I wonder if I can tell him hard right now. I wonder if I can tell him hard, right? The dead hand. Time for my final pick. And I'm going to take
Starting point is 01:18:21 The Air Will Be Blood. It's not going to let it happen. We can't do that. I thought you were going to say like the air butt. I know you were going to say the air up there, the Kevin Bacon being. I'm not taking that. I did see it in theaters, but I'm not taking it.
Starting point is 01:18:38 Oh, man. I love very. I love basketball. You know that about it. He was like African guys who called it Nuba. Yeah, he was looking for Mnobo. I want to play for Nuba.
Starting point is 01:18:50 Yeah. And then that was the whole movie. In the A. Now he didn't used to hear it. The air. I want to play for Nuba. I don't know if you do the accent. I won't do the accent.
Starting point is 01:18:58 I won't be dragooned into doing the accent. Gugundi Rubezzi and dragooned. Two episodes in a row. The air will be blood. That we can't let that. Guys, we can't let that. We bet the rules for the last dance. I don't think.
Starting point is 01:19:10 I think this is breaking the world. It starts with that. It starts with that. It has to start with the space. P-H-E. We never said space? I think the space is applied. I want to be on the record that this is nuts.
Starting point is 01:19:23 I have a different amazing pick then. That was an amazing pick. I believe that you do. Are you picking the Phantom Threat? No. That's a good. The heads out there will recognize my, there will be blood as a valid pick. And I believe with Mike Pence has the courage, it will be counted.
Starting point is 01:19:40 second pick I'm taking the movie with what I believe and I can't prove this but what I believe is the most the in the name of a movie the Lord of the Rings

Starting point is 01:20:20 Uriqai. Through the depths of Mordor. I don't like any of those movies. You don't? I think I've only seen the first two of them. I don't like them. Really? He just don't do nothing for me.
Starting point is 01:20:32 Are you a fantasy guy? You like fantasy? I guess I usually don't. Okay. I guess I don't. I guess I don't. Yeah. I was late to the game of Thrones.

Starting point is 01:21:09 what's the seven king That's the... Oh, the night of the kingdom was fantastic. That was great. I love that. I don't think there's any incest in the Dunkin' Egg. Nothing I saw. Nothing's perfect.
