Starting point is 00:00:01 This is a headgum podcast. The brand new episode of all fantasy everything, the podcast that fantasy drafts anything and everything from the world of popular culture. On today's episode, we're drafting sitcom moms. Our guest today is our friend, the comedian, the writer, the, what are the go? Is it the DC go-goes? The DMV-Go-Go-Go. Oh, yeah, the Capitol City Go-Go's advocate, Jamel Johnson is here.
Starting point is 00:00:49 Come on, go-go. Go-go. Is that a brand? Is that a specific place? player go-go's jersey? No, this is a custom. This is my most rarest piece. This is a custom capital city go-go jersey.
Starting point is 00:01:01 They don't make these anymore. Also, it's still, no, it's G-League. It's not D-League. It's like one of the first, it's like. That's great. Dogo-95 was the show on WPGC 95.5. And that is why. Were they playing Go-Go music?
Starting point is 00:01:17 Yeah, it was one hours from 9 to 10 p.m. Amazing. Just an hour of guys yelling people's birthdays. set the go-go beats We got a bit back We should do an AIMBA Birthday radio shoutouts Or like
Starting point is 00:01:33 Love shoutouts I'll remember those Yeah I mean Art LaBeau Shout out to Art LaBeau Who is not alive But the show still goes on So people are still sending in their Birthday shoutouts
Starting point is 00:01:44 And they just use like old canned audio Of Art LaBeau to set up That's great The new birthday shoutouts So like I could call and be like Hey I want to which Sean Jordan a happy 50 second. Yeah, straight up.
Starting point is 00:01:56 Coming up. People are going to assume you're in jail. A lot of people who call into Arlobo are locked up. That makes sense. But that's fine. They listen. I think that probably jail is the highest number demo of people who are listening to radio shows regularly. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:13 Terrestrial? For sure. Yeah. Do they have, so there's radios in jail? You got one in your cell? I think it's a form of currency. I think you, yeah, you got a, you could probably get it. one at the comma say. Yeah, like you have your own
Starting point is 00:02:25 Yeah. And I, yeah, I bet if you have your own you're up there. It's like a status thing. Because you could also have your own TV. Chocolate milk, card and a cigs and a radio. They got, I know they got a TV, a community TV at the work release. I don't think you can get an Xbox. Isn't they're pouring on there? Flip phone, yeah, but no Xbox. You can get a phone in there because they're making TikToks. If you could get an Xbox and I could do like franchise mode,
Starting point is 00:02:46 I think I could do like three months. I could do a hard three months. I could do it. I can do a hard three straight. I can do three straight. And nobody beat the shit out of me. I could do three months. I'm like, I served my time. I got the Oregon Ducks to a three-peat national championship. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:04 I think the hard thing about playing Xbox in prison would be like the time. You'd probably have to play it overnight. That's fine with me. Right? You probably can't play it in the daytime. You're playing with cats in different regions. Yeah. Unusual.
Starting point is 00:03:16 Yeah. I'm not even online. I'm not even online. Oh, no. Like raw dog in the franchise mode. Wow. That's how I like to play. play sports games.
Starting point is 00:03:22 I don't want to get yelled at by some kid in Grand Rapids. You don't play online. No. Wow. I'll go, I'll play, I'll go PVP if somebody wants to come to my house, the dojo. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'll do that. But you don't put, did you ever put the headset on though?
Starting point is 00:03:37 No, you never, any guys ever headset? Never did it. College football, you get this guy a bag, make them hook up the Ethernet cable, make them do it. I'll play, I'll play single player. I'll stream me playing single player. You can watch me. create the Portland State Vikings. I'm trying to consciously avoid talking about NBA 2K
Starting point is 00:03:56 because this is coming out in September and God knows what will be happening with the Blazers at that point. No, you guys will still be the Portland Trail Blazers. Well, we will be until 2030. And after that, that depends on something happening on August 12th, which is in the past. Damn.
Starting point is 00:04:09 I know. It's Sean's fault. What would you do if they left? Yeah, I do a lot up there. If they left, I hate to be this guy, but what would you do? I started calling it. They weren't leaving.
Starting point is 00:04:19 I thought you'd like pretty much guaranteed they weren't. Don't put that on me. I would start calling Portland the white Oakland. That's what I would do. Are we not calling about that? In many ways, we already are the white Oakland. We call it, we call it Wokeland. I'm going to White Oakland.
Starting point is 00:04:33 Yeah. Wokeland. Oakland is a little. I don't know about Wokeland. I think Portland would like it if you call them Wokeland. I might put an apostrophe. I don't want it to be one word. I think Florida start calling it cock Oakland.
Starting point is 00:04:45 Yeah. I think Portland would like it if they called it white Cawklon. Yeah. Seattle's white Wakanda. If you let them, if you let Portland get this? White Konda? No, wait. We're going to need that for five years if the Blazers are.
Starting point is 00:05:02 Seattle's got a first state. You think Seattle has white Konda over Portland? For sure. Yeah. It's just, I don't know. I don't know. All right. You've really been up there.
Starting point is 00:05:13 Yeah, yeah. I think technological supremacy. But Seattle's more not white than Portland. Yeah, and Seattle's less interesting. Seattle's a very, and I'm saying it. Well, how interesting is Wakanda? I'm saying it. If you start getting into the, all this shit, all the shit be going on.
Starting point is 00:05:33 They'd be, when they're elsewhere. Wakana's not magic. They got to come to America and Ambers is getting blown up or the big fight scene. You know what I'm saying? Because they perfected it. That's why it's happening there because they're perfect. Were you the, but you, did you have the boringness? The bit about how they just left the rest of Africa on their own, or is that like sure?
Starting point is 00:05:54 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. That's Seattle-y. No, I understand the parallel. That's Seattley. I think that Seattle is just, I don't, maybe I just don't like Seattle. I don't like Seattle. That might be it.
Starting point is 00:06:06 Not a whole lot. Although I stand in solidarity with them on having a basketball team. Yeah. Ripped from your bosom. Yeah. When you walk past the husk of the key arena, it does feel sad. It's been de husks, hasn't it? Isn't it like nice again?
Starting point is 00:06:18 No, they play hockey? They play hockey and they play women's. Yeah, but it's not. But you guys weren't there. I watched. It went, it was Husk level. I watched Sean Kemp get out of a limousine there. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:30 That's a powerful. I saw a big boy there. It's different. That's a powerful. With a whole stable of women on the side of the stage. You did I see, no, I didn't see. Big boy. You did I see Big Boy?
Starting point is 00:06:37 Fat Big Boy or Outcast Big Boy? Okay. Yeah. You were there. Former Fat Big Boy. Former Fat Big Boy. Oh. He lost a lot of way.
Starting point is 00:06:45 Saw hauling oats there. You like the oats? You saw hauling oats at the key arena? Remember when Bumbershoot, that used to be the thing? Oh, yeah. You got to go see all these dope bands and you did some shitty comedy shows at 2 p.m. Dude, I saw Tanishay. I almost cried. She was so hot, I almost cried.
Starting point is 00:07:01 Yeah? Yeah, just like brought to tears. Yeah. Tenachet's sheer gorgeousness. Sean had that with Ray Lamontane. Big Sean. Oh, yeah, we saw Big Sean, too. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:07:12 Where did you see Big Sean? Bumbershoot. I'm addicted to what the dick did Damn Sean was fixated on his sleeveless vest right Well I guess every vest is sleeveless They're still doing that?
Starting point is 00:07:23 Is there still bummering? They're still bummering shoots Yeah they are It's happening in September Oh there you have it You know Bucking shoots been going on like my whole life Yeah
Starting point is 00:07:31 Yeah they stopped for a couple years Yeah COVID fucked it up obviously It's different now It's different now I don't think it's dank anymore I don't know book me You can't just see young Thug and Jay Cole at a football field?
Starting point is 00:07:42 Huh? That's what I saw I saw it was like Thug and Jay Cole The rap show was like at that football field. Yeah, yeah. But it's like, what team is that? It's a high school maybe or a college? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:07:53 It's like the Seattle municipal football field. Yeah, I know what you're talking about. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Is it where Bellevue plays? I saw Tyler the creator there with me. It's like 400 feet from the Space Needle. Yeah, it's really close. The thing about Bumber Shoot is there was one green room.
Starting point is 00:08:06 So anyone that like if Big Boy wanted to go get food at Bumbershoot, you'd be in the same area. Yeah, yeah. They didn't ever. Well, every venue had a green room, and then there was the big VIP area, but anybody on the festival could go in there. I was there alone with Kalea, and I was afraid to talk to Kalela. She's too hot, she's eating. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:26 I can't. I get that. You're already on your back foot seeing a hot person eat. Right. It's like, fuck the up. You should be happening. I was tired. Group by the foot.
Starting point is 00:08:35 Maybe like a grape, popping a grape. That I can see. Yeah, that makes sense. Yeah. Tucking into a, tucking into like a rap? Snack food? It's one of those like festival barbecued rib sandwiches or something? I like to see hot people eat.
Starting point is 00:08:47 I don't want to see hot people next to Shwama. That's crazy. Rotating meat, a rotating sweaty pole of meat? That's what it is. I don't know. I went to Fogotechella last night speaking of that. Oh, how was it? For real.
Starting point is 00:09:00 Which one? This morning it was Fogo to blah! Blah! Blah! Blah! Blah! Blah! It was...
Starting point is 00:09:08 Don't go on in there. It was a rough morning, but it was a great night. I did feel like Picasso painting the toilet bowl this morning. Oh my God. It was fucked. I woke up early. You ever have to wake up early this year? Not a long time, but I have for sure.
Starting point is 00:09:24 That was like about a decade of my life. Yeah, that was a bunch of a real. Oh, it was brutal. It was brutal. But it was really fun. Shout out to the Fogar to Chow, Beverly Hills. They actually treated us great. Did you go more meat or more size?
Starting point is 00:09:38 You know what happened. You know what happened. They just told you all that. We brought a camera. and they thought we were famous, so they started bringing us meats from the back. Back meat? Which was crazy.
Starting point is 00:09:49 They just came out with... This has never happened to me in Fogo de Chow before. Well, Langston is famous. Yeah. And I was there. And you were there. You're not unknown. They just came out with a plate with four or five pieces of meat,
Starting point is 00:10:02 and they were like, hey. Wow. And then they came out, and then Isaac can attend... This never happened to me in Fogu de Chow either. Then they came out and they were like, what do you guys want next? Really?
Starting point is 00:10:13 Like three times. Not just once. In my Fogar de Chow experience, that's not a thing that happened. It's not in mine. It's brand new. Any sort of KBQ loyalty, were you torn inside it all? Were you thinking like, this is none? He was on the Chow train.
Starting point is 00:10:29 I don't care. I love the Brazilians. So if we show up in K-Town, if you go back to K-Town and somebody's like, saw you at Fogo de Chau, what's up? I say, oh, it to the bang. He said, yeah. He says, let's go outside Fogaday now. We can handle this right now.
Starting point is 00:10:42 Got that Fogode dog in me. I could never. You feed me enough, Bougéjo. I'm going to turn Brazilian. Whoa. Fucking nice. He says everything like that. It's great.
Starting point is 00:10:54 And he shan't be, he shan not be bullied off. I'm not going to be bullied off. He won't. No, he was having a good time. I'm just saying the pronunciation for like, how long now, two years we've been bringing it up? Sure. I don't care.
Starting point is 00:11:07 You will not be moved. And I think it's what it's, I admire many things about you. It may be the number one. You know the good thing about you doing it, though, is you never fuck the accent up. No. Like, you're not like a casadilla-ass guy. No. Like, you say it how it's supposed to be said.
Starting point is 00:11:21 He's nailing it. Yeah, yeah. And that is why today I wear a Korean soccer jersey. Yeah. And by the way, the soccer jersey of one of the hottest men to ever grace. What's this guy's name? Park? Uh, uh, Anjong H.
Starting point is 00:11:34 Give it a shot. Yeah. I thought it was Jason Park. I was like, I don't remember him being hot. He was really good, but. Can I just praise Glaze Isaac? a little more. Yes.
Starting point is 00:11:43 I like it that when you do accents you don't furrow your brow. Oh. How did you like you're, you know, you're like, oh. I can't even think of a word. Yeah. This guy was hot as fuck.
Starting point is 00:11:54 This guy was extremely hot. Dilapia. Or whatever. Hell yeah. Yeah. Oh my God. Yeah. He should have been the principal
Starting point is 00:12:04 of like a surf movie or something. Yeah. Yeah. He is very, very attractive. He is very, very attractive. Yeah. Yeah. He got it.
Starting point is 00:12:10 Should I blow my hair out? Yeah. Yeah. Have you never? No, never. Bro, you've got to get that going. All right. Yeah, down past your shoulders.
Starting point is 00:12:21 I wouldn't mind seeing it. Mm-hmm. I wouldn't mind seeing it. I wanted to pass myself off as like a sportsman for so long that I don't think I've ever. Well, this sportsman had a long guess. Yeah, that's true. It's true. The hottest one over here, hair down to his shoulders.
Starting point is 00:12:33 I can do that. Get it long. We could get you some extensions, too. No. No. We see them. Yeah. The week.
Starting point is 00:12:38 Yeah. That'd be crazy. Like next week. Yeah, like, Flon floated. Brother, do not be afraid to extend them. What have you did?
Starting point is 00:12:47 How much is that to go, like you want to go put extent? Do your hair long enough to do that? Yeah. It is? I don't know. You need something to hook it to. Because he got it short under the,
Starting point is 00:12:56 like where you would. You have to hook them all to your bangs. But you can do the thing where they braid in the track. Uh-huh. You know K-pop dudes are doing extensions. I don't know that. It's got to be over there. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:13:07 You don't think they're Jews. You think they're juice. I think they're ju-everyman. Everybody, you have to. Yeah, there's too much at stake. Male beauty standards are ridiculous. I remember when I was in... It's hard for us.
Starting point is 00:13:18 I remember when I was in junior high school, all the Korean boys had long bangs. Do you guys remember that era? The long... Korean boys with long... Oh, the curtain bangs, yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. The two pincers?
Starting point is 00:13:29 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. The Hans, dude. Yeah. Yeah, they were fucking hot twins. My friend Graham Wickland. Oh, we don't know that. I know. I know. I was talking about it.
Starting point is 00:13:41 Brian and Michael Hahn, these like gorgeous, gorgeous twins. And then my friend Graham Wickland, who was like had really bad acne. And it was like a Swedish dude. He referred to every, he'd go up to him. And it's like, it's us, the Han triplets. And it was a great technical bit. They loved it. He loved it.
Starting point is 00:14:00 Everyone loved it. No victims. Just laughs. Just a fun time. We fucking loved it. Being a dude with acne having the confidence to hang out with hot foreign twins is. Graham had a go. I hope he's going good.
Starting point is 00:14:10 I hope it's going good for him. Yeah, I hope so too. I haven't talked to Graham in a while. You don't remember Graham? I remember Graham. I haven't seen him for a minute, but yeah. Went Rockabilly. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:18 Yeah. Yeah. That's pretty cool. I don't know anybody who went Rockabilly for the music. He went, he did it too. Everybody has to feel like I know who went Rockabilly did it for the clothes. Yeah. He went across the board.
Starting point is 00:14:31 It's Rockabilly. Like pinned up jeans, denim, a lot of denim. Stray cats. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Jeans. Bowling shirt. Like, like, swing, sweaters.
Starting point is 00:14:39 Swingers kind of. Pompadores. Yeah, yeah. A little more, a little, like, more in than the swingers crew. A little more, a little more edgy. Okay. Yeah. A lot less saying beautiful babies.
Starting point is 00:14:51 Yeah. Hey, now that we're adults. This kind of shit. Oh, yeah. I think of the girls more than the girl or the feminine wear more than the guy where. Dudes are doing it too. Yeah. Now that we're grownups, had we been alive at the time of swingers, would we have thought those guys were douchebags?
Starting point is 00:15:07 You mean the first wave of swingers? When was that? Vince Vaughn would have done a lot to make me think they were cool. But they were saying beautiful babies and like going to swing dancing. Listen, bro, it was the 90s, man. Yeah, but like. But you're saying if they were there now or if we were adults then? If we were then.
Starting point is 00:15:24 Because we're not trend writers in the way that like none of us were like hipsters when that was huge. That's true. You know what I'm saying? So like grunge. Would we have hated those guys? In white culture, I feel like grunge had run out. Speak on it. Right?
Starting point is 00:15:38 and that had sort of petered out. White culture does exist. Black culture was very, very cool. We were still grunge. Still grunge. We held on too. So there was, but we needed to find another path,
Starting point is 00:15:50 white culture. Like, that wasn't like, boy band type thing. So there was that going on. I guess it was new metal hadn't even really started yet around swingers. Was there like yellow card and stuff yet?
Starting point is 00:16:04 Whatever that would be, Ocean Avenue. You were there. You're in white culture. Some 41. You don't know what was happening? Like Sun 41, Newfound Glory. Sublime it happened.
Starting point is 00:16:13 So it was half in. He's older than us. He was right there. He was skateboarding the whole time. I think like Sinatra was still alive. The Rat Pack was still alive. But now that was like your grandparents generation a little bit. This was when Sinatra made his last duet album.
Starting point is 00:16:27 Yes. His last duet album. So I think that sort of slept into the culture. We were like, oh, wait, those are some cool white guys. We could just run that back. Okay. So I kind of think that's what happened. Jump-jiving whale.
Starting point is 00:16:39 Yeah. Yeah, yeah. I went and that shit was on too. But that doesn't... But that's what I'm asking. Would we have liked those guys? If we were just in L.A. doing stand-up comedy at the time... Going to see the squirrel-nut zippers or whatever.
Starting point is 00:16:52 And then would we have been like... If like Sean rolled up in a bowling shirt... This is my friend Jake. He loves beautiful babies. The one guy ran an open mic. He ran a comedy open mic. That's right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:02 We would have gone to. John Fabros character. You're right. We would have gone to it. Would it have been a chateau? We would have gone. Yeah. If we're basing up these characters.
Starting point is 00:17:08 they're going to Vegas. You know what I mean? They're having a great time. They're up late at diners. Yeah. I kind of think we would have liked them, though we wouldn't have... The only one that was really being annoying was that sue, dude. He was the one with, like, the giant chain wallet.
Starting point is 00:17:23 Oh, he was a gun. But he was, yeah. Yeah, he was the one with a gun. But he was from Anahon. He was from Anahe. I grew up in Las 8. I would have liked the Vince Vaughn type, I think. The Vince Bond, the Ron Livingston type.
Starting point is 00:17:33 They weren't, like, crazy into it. Yeah. They just kind of... I thought Vince Vaughn was super into it. Vince Fawn seemed like he was saying your money all the time. That would have been kind of annoying. Sue was just a crazy guy. Right.
Starting point is 00:17:45 And then John Favro was just adjacent. He wasn't really. I think John Favro hung up the bowling shirt within three years. Yeah. But I think Sue did too. Sue actually was a founding member of Limp Biscuit then got kicked out for Flash. I could see Sue go in New Metal for sure. I think Sue went new metal 100.
Starting point is 00:18:02 Yeah. I think Sue definitely went new metal. Yeah. Now you want to talk about a culture that hits Sue Falls Hard. Now I can speak on it. New Metal? New Metal? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:10 That was, I saw that happen. It might have come from there. I saw that and I was like, as far away as far away as I could get at the time. Okay, so you saw New Metal and you were like, no way. Nothing about it. Nothing about it. That back off.
Starting point is 00:18:23 They used to play that at Nutties, and I'm just like, headstrong? That headstrong. I knew it immediately. Oh, my God. I was losing my mind. All these dudes with like, you know, two-inch-long hair spiked up. Is that what you said? I don't know the words.
Starting point is 00:18:37 Headstrong. Back off. take you on Headstrong, I'll take on anyone. Leather wrist fans. I always thought new metal was only when they were rapping. This was right in there. It might have wrapped in Headstrong. Well, that's the new part, but then it's still metal.
Starting point is 00:18:52 He's still got to do some regular metal. Corn with new metal. Is new metal short for newbie and metal? Yeah, dude. Yeah. I thought it was A-U. It is Eni. It is.
Starting point is 00:19:07 It is. It might. And they're wrapping. And they're rapping. Bramian metal. Never forget what they took from you. Whoa. What?
Starting point is 00:19:29 It's perfect. Man. Oh, man. That's the rest of my weekend. Oh, they're fucking me up. Nubian metal. Fuck. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:19:42 We don't ever take bits from the show and do stand-up about him. But if you did a little PowerPoint presentation about Nubian metal, nobody would be mad. Nobody would be upset about that. Oh, man. Click. This is Jonathan Davis from Korn. Notice the dreadlocks.
Starting point is 00:19:58 See? Oh, man. I can't be the first person to have figured that out. I think you might. As of right now. I've never heard it. I was looking for it right now. I'm searching it.
Starting point is 00:20:09 I don't see it. I think his algorithm is fucked up. Type it in Nubian metal. I literally did and nothing comes up. This comes out of September. Black Panther three trailers. Isaac redacted all this. I'm trying to get rid.
Starting point is 00:20:21 September 17. September 17. There's not. There's no Nubian metal. Nubian metal sprung out of Kakonda. Yeah. Oh, Kaconda. This bit.
Starting point is 00:20:33 I'm seeing this bit come together. This is my beautiful mind right now. There's just like numbers. in my mind. They're starting to close in, though. Oh, man, that's fucking great. Urban Assault Remix. Hmm.
Starting point is 00:20:51 That song was, I was pretty in a new metal. I didn't dress New Metal? It was a good time for me to get a list together. I did have a backwards red hat. I did too. Urban Assault remix is the deepest I got into New Metal. How's the Method Man?
Starting point is 00:21:03 Oh, and that song end together now. Yeah, watch out you didn't hear me. Shut the fuck. Fuck up. I had that tape. That song was cool. That beat was good. But I could never get into limp biscuit.
Starting point is 00:21:16 I just couldn't. Sound like you were into two limp biscuits. Oh, that's fair. Yeah. Did you like the faith? No, I hate that song. I loved it. I like faith by George Michael a lot.
Starting point is 00:21:27 It's so good. Yeah. I like it all more now than I ever did then. I will say that. You weren't in a new metal at all? Uh-uh. Is it because you were skating and you felt like, I think it was.
Starting point is 00:21:36 You were like, I'm into newbie. contrary. Yeah, I was like, I'm in a newbie. I like the real newbiees. The brand newbians, I like it all. The, uh, you weren't listening to Brand Nubian. No, no, no. Mouthful eyes. You really checked him hard.
Starting point is 00:21:51 I was. No, I wasn't. I didn't mean for it to sound like such a card pulling. Atmosphere. That was about atmosphere and Tupac and Ray. The kids weren't wearing Clarks where you're from. No, no, no. You weren't listening to Brad New York.
Starting point is 00:22:03 I was listening to Brad Newbian. I didn't see you with a vegan cafe Put a cigarette out of my arm You weren't listening to me What were you listening to? I don't know atmosphere You know Snoop and Dre Cypress Hill So you never were you remember
Starting point is 00:22:20 Whatever like the earlyos I never liked it I never liked any of that stuff when it Like I didn't like Nirvana And Beastie Boys and shit when that came out Which is stupid It was just to be contrarian you know Yeah
Starting point is 00:22:29 So I'm like no that sucks I don't listen to Tupac Rage Were there any new metal girl bands They're I don't think you can. That's not allowed. No.
Starting point is 00:22:39 It was very clearly, there's some very clear lines. Whole and no doubt were happening. No doubt was earlier. It was whole a little bit. Yeah. So no that would be the closest you could get. But that's Scott. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:50 So there was no, not one girl in a little bit. What was like bikini kill and stuff? What was that? Riot girl. Yeah. Yeah. Which is more like punk. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:57 Alternative. But you know there were a few on the internet. It says. Slater Kenny. What is it called? O-Tep? Nope. Hotep?
Starting point is 00:23:06 O-Tep. I don't know. Cream corn was one of? Infected rain. I've never heard of these bands in before my life. But these are girl bands who are apparently new metal or new metal adjacent. Hmm. Wow.
Starting point is 00:23:16 I don't know. I just, well, that's funny for the girls that be the Hotep. But it does through European metal. Because it's new being metal. There's the evanescence. Oh.
Starting point is 00:23:27 That doesn't feel new metal in. You know, I'll, listen. I can't wake up. That was a guy doing that. Wake me up. Yeah. I love that. Anything.
Starting point is 00:23:34 Yeah. That's Save me That song still comes up When I work out that And the call me when you're Call me when you're sober I think was their other one
Starting point is 00:23:42 And I still I'll listen to both those When I run to this day I would have guessed you listen To Evanessence though I'll listen to crazy town When I run sometimes
Starting point is 00:23:48 You know what I've been listening To when I lift a lot lately That Brandy you're a fine girl So Brandy You're a fine girl What a good wife You would be Just a fine girl
Starting point is 00:23:59 Yeah And then I go into Dancing in the Moonlight Which is actually A very dark song Well, Brandy's kind of like about a girl who like, the guy's a sailor? She works at a western, she works at a bar in a sailor town. In a sailor town.
Starting point is 00:24:15 And he's a sailor. He's singing from a sailor's perspective. And he's like, you would be a good wife. But I'm married to the sea. My wife, my love for the lady is the sea. That's right. You used to just be able to write songs from the perspective of a seafaring man. Dog, nobody's talking about sailors anymore.
Starting point is 00:24:29 Never. And they're still sailing. And we used to really, I think it got less from. romantic when planes took over. It's about to be back. Odyssey, everybody about to be sailing now. Oh, you think so? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:40 Oh, buddy, the next two years, everything's going to be on a boat. Shanties were big on TikTok. The way one fuck is talking about this Odyssey? Whoa, I didn't even think about this. Oh, buddy. Should we start writing seafaring songs for Isaac to sing? That'd be fun.
Starting point is 00:24:54 I got to do that. I got to do that. We've got to let him grow out, but we could do it, man. We've got six months for you to grow your hair out for us out of catalog. But that'll give us enough time to, yeah, exactly. This is going to be a huge spring for you. Spring 27 is going to go off. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:08 You're going to start wearing pirate shirts. Start. Billowy. Billowyer. Did you know that I'm not already wearing him? What? No. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:17 By Big Row? I got really into that. Oh, that's right. Yeah, yeah. You're playing it on the show. You playing on the podcast. That makes sense. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:22 That makes sense that I did that. Newbie and metal. That's an indelible image. Oh, man. Sean Jordan's here, huh? Yeah, I'm here. How are you feeling three days into mustache, no beard? Right.
Starting point is 00:25:42 It's coming back. Yeah, you're in it. Feeling better because the beard's coming back. I feel naked without facial hair right here. Yeah, I refuse. I won't. It's crazy. Every time I do it, I just feel nuts.
Starting point is 00:25:53 Now that it's coming back a little bit, and you're not as in as vulnerable to the state, you're right. You should have a little bit of a five o'clock shadow. You're right. I know that. Now that it's here? We're out there the other day.
Starting point is 00:26:04 And Isaac, he goes, so are you, you doing this? I go, no. Good friend. I go, no. And he's like, yeah, it's not the best use of you. Or however you said it. But I was like, I know that. I know I look like a moron.
Starting point is 00:26:16 But this, this and beyond looks great. Thank you. Yeah. This, I want this to catch up a little more. I think you could keep it one day from now. I think you could keep it at that way. I probably will. You guys have both grade very nicely.
Starting point is 00:26:28 I've never said that to you. But I'm really looking at it right on the couch. Yeah. In the 10 years we've been doing this, you guys really got up in that salt and pepper good. Thank you very much. I want it to Graymore. Thank you. I just want it to go.
Starting point is 00:26:39 He wants it to Jay Moore. That's what he's looking for, dude. He's trying to get that. He's trying to get that type of feel. He wants to marry a bus. September 26, stop. September 26th, the Latin Theater, Portland, Oregon. Dick has got to be gone by now.
Starting point is 00:26:55 They got to be. They got to be. But if they're not, get the last one. Come to the late show. This is as long as my hair can get and still look okay with the gray in there. Because here's the issue with the graying. It gets long different than the rest of the hair. It gets like kinkier.
Starting point is 00:27:12 Oh. And then the, so like it. Embrace your roots. It fuzzes out in a, if all of it got like that, I would. I forgot that you had a fro. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Damn, I forgot that that was a thing. I got some fix.
Starting point is 00:27:25 Damn, fro, Ian, that was a whole era. Yeah, yeah. And a beard for a wild. I had a big fucking. Odyssey beards. What the fuck? Yeah. I didn't want to dig around my phone during the show, but I'll show you.
Starting point is 00:27:38 Everyone else is going to do their dates. You can dig. I'll find this for you. I don't actually have any dates. But the first he and I ever met. Yeah, big Afro. Big Afro and big beard. Big beard.
Starting point is 00:27:50 Cargo shorts. He was in some kind of a purple gang, I think. Yeah, purple sweatshirt. Yeah, it was me, Ron Funches. Oh, here we go. That was the whole gang. It was me, Ron Funches. This guy named Gonja, John.
Starting point is 00:28:01 John. It was Gondja John's idea to call us a gang. Blues Traveler type. Is this what you just showed him? I showed a miss. Oh, that's a good one too. You know the blue. The purple gang is a real So. Yes, I know the purple.
Starting point is 00:28:14 In Jewish gang? You think I don't know the purple guy? Osobo Lake, Iowa. Allegedly they used to run, or Michigan, sorry. They used to be bootleggers. And allegedly there's a car at the bottom of Osobel Lake that the purple gang like stashed down there. I'll buy that. There isn't one. But it's like there's a lore around it. Why did they've slashed a car under a lake?
Starting point is 00:28:31 Because they were bootleggers. So they like drove the car into the lake so that nobody found it or something. It's just a fun. It's not true. There's no car at the bottom of that leg. The purple gang was the Jewish gang. So are this is the same one I'm talking about? There's only one purple gang.
Starting point is 00:28:44 But like they were bootleggers? So what's the Purple City Bird Gang? What was Jim Jones doing? Was that just a variant? Were they connected? I don't know. I think he might have just really liked purple. Look at the color purple.
Starting point is 00:28:54 Look at that guy. Man. Yep. That's the first guy I met. That guy looks like he's going to say something crazy to me on the bus. Yeah, but like good though. I mean, potentially. Young Torres? That guy looks like. What the fuck?
Starting point is 00:29:07 That kind of looks similar. That's what you used to look like? Yeah, is Ron? Oh yeah, there it is. And then Ron looking. Young Ron. What? That was Portland. Look, I was taking one of my favorite pictures of all time, but I was we were just walking around downtown. Son. The beautiful boys. Send me that again, would you? Yeah, I will. I know I have it.
Starting point is 00:29:25 It's one of the, it's one of my, because we were, nobody made it yet. Nobody was even close, really. And it's... Ron looks like a... In that photo, he has built like one of those, like a bed knob. Like the side of a old wooden... Skinny bed frame.
Starting point is 00:29:42 He went from bed knob to broomstick. Straight up. Man, I'm going crazy this episode. You're just... What the fuck? Yeah. We might have to put this behind a pit wall. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:54 My views are too controversial. It's going nuts. It's nice. Hey. David Boyd speaks on Nubian Metal and Angela Lansberry We don't need the rest of us in the thumbnail On this one
Starting point is 00:30:07 That tagline will just get 100,000 new listeners I was on a plane with Angela Lansberry once Wow And Dulce Well Because Dulce she called her Dose kept calling her murder she wrote That's right
Starting point is 00:30:17 I swear to God And Angela was with it No y'all was just talking about her Okay, okay If you say We weren't sitting by her To her face multiple times Hey murder she wrote
Starting point is 00:30:27 They ask it if you want your drink What drink you want Get murder A shot's about a portion By the way What? Murder she wrote That one
Starting point is 00:30:34 Yeah Wow Crazy Anyways Mix it You put that to that beat I think Jamaicans can do a lot of stuff
Starting point is 00:30:43 Yeah That's in the club right now That song was It's a hot song Her hair was like a bunch of rows Man I tell you about this girl I'm Lexi
Starting point is 00:30:52 Oh it is Say I don't know what I know Damn Murder Murder she wrote. It makes it complex. It's a complicated dance. It's a political song.
Starting point is 00:31:02 Yeah, I'm about to say, Andy's letting us know, okay, we know your stance. Yeah. A lot of Jamaica songs are more complicated than you want them to be. For sure. And more conservative, I guess. Yeah, you thought that song was just about three little birds.
Starting point is 00:31:14 Oh. I don't know what it's about. Yeah, I was right. It might be about three little birds. One of those birds. One of those birds was a fucking mince rights act of it. I didn't have. It's not even.
Starting point is 00:31:26 Yeah. Should we keep working? Should we keep workshopping until one of us says something funny about it? One of those birds was moving the other two birds out of the neighborhood. One of those birds, two of those birds were Tate Brothers. Whoa. Something like that? I get it.
Starting point is 00:31:44 There's a pair of them? Yeah. There's two tape brothers. It's three little birds, though. Outside my doorstep. But I think that you, I think that for this joke, you have to make one of the birds adversarial to the other two. And then the other two represent oppression and the one, the one bird represents whatever positive movement you want to be on.
Starting point is 00:32:03 So you have to make two of the birds bad guys and make one of them doing something to the one little bird. Well, he's halfway there. He did do that part. That's what I'm saying. That's why I think it was pretty decent. And Paul F. Tompkins. Walk into a bar. Walk into a bar.
Starting point is 00:32:18 Jemelle Johnson is here. Jamel, this comes out September 17th. 17th. Okay. October 1st, a sports drink, man. It's Thursday, please come. Please come. And maybe I'm doing something else in New Orleans the rest of that week.
Starting point is 00:32:34 I'll just be there. Okay. I'm there like the first through like. Are the Saints in town? Yeah. There's a Monday night football game that I should be attending. There it is. If you see me at the Caesar Superdome, do not make direct eye contact.
Starting point is 00:32:44 No. DMA, I'll check it. Can they address you? You can hit, you can DM me at Broccoli House. I'll be on the, I'll be on the jack. And then maybe we could link at the snack stand or something. Jamel's going to be wearing it backwards Jeremy Shockey jersey. He's got a throwback, deuce McAllister.
Starting point is 00:33:03 Can I tell you, one of my greatest misses, it was in Portland. One of these thrift stores in Portland had a Saints jersey that had chef written on it, and it was number 68. That's weird. He hadn't been born in 68. What year was Emerald Agassi born? Computer? Bam! I bet you, emeral's from.
Starting point is 00:33:25 the 50s. 59. Yeah, come on. 59. You're right. Anyhow, I really wish I bought that. But you can see what I got on eBay right now at Fat Riley. I actually would like to check.
Starting point is 00:33:38 P-H-A-T. Riley. I'm going to bring down some pieces. We'll split the profit. Yeah, come on. You eBay for me. I will be doing some consignment work for San Jordan. I got a few old Nike jackets that I never wore one time.
Starting point is 00:33:50 I bought them because I was at the employee store. I thought that I should have them. Hey, windbreakers is huge, man. Yeah, I have a really nice one. I just will never wear it's too loud for me. It's like a lot of our LGBTQA plus plus plus. That's right. Many more.
Starting point is 00:34:10 They're rocking the windbreakers, the old windbreakers now. They're kind of into that. They're getting into their like New Jersey mobster. Yep. How do I find you on eBay? Yeah. So nobody is hard. I typed it in and I got premium dehydrated lamb lung.
Starting point is 00:34:25 dog treat. I don't know how to streamline that, but I'm going to just tell y'all, I know it's P-H-A-T-Riley, but Oh, it's... Oh, okay. Okay, because Fat Riley sells wholesale fabrics. Yeah, nah. It's pretty hot and tempting Riley.
Starting point is 00:34:41 Okay. R-I-L-E-Y. Zero results, pop. I've never seen that when you search something. Well, that's... Listen. Still, there's usually something, right? Listen, it is, it does exist. It's very real. I mean... You found it.
Starting point is 00:34:55 This is tight. You can get stuff like a Russell Westbrook jersey. Yeah, brand new OKC, that OKC blue. You can get yourself in Adidas' team geist motographic jersey? Yeah, Adidas made these, the team geist look is also like a very early 2000s, late 90s. It's a George Mason hockey jersey?
Starting point is 00:35:16 Yeah, yeah, I have a 3XL George Mason represent the Patriots. You also have stuff for the ladies. Is this a Reformation fiddle tank? What are you talking about? What is that? It's really whatever you need, bro. There's a fiddle tank.
Starting point is 00:35:31 There's baby fat. Free XL, big pun, airbrushed t-shirt. Yeah, with the big pun's full face. Hey, maybe take that, set that aside. You need that? Okay, hey, we'll talk. That's easy. I'll get that.
Starting point is 00:35:44 I'll lock that. Somebody's trying to gain weight just to get up in there. Are you still going to the Rose Bowl? You know what? It's a leopard print Nashville predator's hat. Yeah, it's a Nashville predator's hat with cheetah print. I thought because they're both felines.
Starting point is 00:35:59 No, that actually tracks. Because it's the mascot for the Prids. Anyhow, the Rose Bowl, hey, listen, look out for me doing the Rose Bowl in November or December. I have not done it in over a year.
Starting point is 00:36:14 It's been so hot, bro. I was going to do it in June, but I was just like, I'd like to pull up on you because I've been trying to get back in the swap meeting in general. Yeah, yeah. Well, listen, November, 2nd Sunday, November at the Rose Bowl, very likely for a fat Riley's pop-up. And I also got some shit that's not listed that you probably want. I got like some, like, I got one of them shirts, one of them like hood, Sesame Street shirt, where the Sesame Street characters got like guns.
Starting point is 00:36:40 Oh, where Oscar the Grouch looks mean. Yeah, yeah. It's like it came across one of those pieces in Detroit. Yeah. Yeah. I got some shit like that. I got like some crazy James Brown tea that's not on there. Okay. And if you're looking for an Adidas Hispanic Heritage baseball jersey that says, R-E-S-D-O on it. Taste the flavor. Go right to eBay. 100% positive rating, by the way.
Starting point is 00:37:01 I got 45 followers on eBay. 46. I'm... I got to say... I got a lot of Team Japan range. I really like how much the all-family everything and you selling things has merged. Like, I saw how many jerseys you got off that weekend.
Starting point is 00:37:19 That is. And I was like, that's pretty good. It is. It is all-family everything. It is. Come on. Appreciate you guys. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:28 I have nothing to promote. Come to our anniversary show September 26th in Portland. Mm-hmm. Latin theater. Latin theater. I'm trying to get off a lardo. Oh, get a lardo off. Man, that, ooh.
Starting point is 00:37:38 I don't even fuck with tuna sandwiches regularly. Yeah. It's like spaghetti where I don't want to buy it in stores often. Yeah. But that lardo tuna. I had a great tuna sandwich just yesterday from tartine. It's great. Then my wife brought me a bagel sandwich from courage.
Starting point is 00:37:51 I'd love to tell you I didn't need it till dinner. Yeah. I love to eat it in the car. She also suggested you share it. That also did not happen. Did not. No, that didn't. So when I got home, when I got home.
Starting point is 00:38:04 That didn't happen. And I ate the whole thing in the kitchen at home. I didn't eat it in the car. I ate it at home. I did, like, I want you guys to know the punishment for me not sharing it was the feeling I had. Yeah. Physic, not even like guilt-wise, just physically taking down two sandwiches in a two-hour span. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:22 On a GLP 1. That's the thing about... Hurting. That's the thing about a sandwich on a GLP... You get one a day. One a day. What hurts about it? At most.
Starting point is 00:38:31 You just feel it. You just feel nuts. Yeah. You get punished. What do you mean? I'll tell you what I mean. I went to bed at 8. It makes you feel sick.
Starting point is 00:38:40 It makes you feel like... Yeah, bro. Interesting. Okay. Puts a cap on like... What, like, is it the calories or is it like that it's bread? Here comes, Isaac. I was just going to take a sip of my coffee in front of us.
Starting point is 00:38:51 I thought you were just. He was going to bless us real quick. He did look like you for a big windup right there. Bread, calories, like cheese. It's just a lot. You start to feel like, oh. Yeah, you got to really space out. You can't eat a bunch of crazy shit.
Starting point is 00:39:07 Yeah, you got to be. That's what happened. That's why this morning was so tough. You got to stay in line. Yeah. We're drafting sitcom moms. You wouldn't know it from the preamble. That's all.
Starting point is 00:39:16 That's all family to happen. We went a lot of places today. Word. Newty and metal. That was, that was, that was, that was, that was, 20 minutes ago. The way we determine the order of this draft is a rollicking game of rock paper scissors.
Starting point is 00:39:26 Play between the three of you and we throw on shoot. All right. Here we go. Rock paper scissors, shoot. Oh, David wins. He's back. A rock over two scissors.
Starting point is 00:39:34 A natural victory. I've done scissors in my last 10 Rochambo scenario. He's been clearing the scissors. I've been doing all right. Yeah, he has been cleaning how. I want to say statistically, scissors get you there the best.
Starting point is 00:39:45 That's what she said. I don't want to know where she said it. No. Rock paper scissors world championship. Yeah. In a Caconda. Yeah. R-slash white conda.
Starting point is 00:39:57 Lesbian San Francisco, they used to call us. They called you that? Portland, yeah. That's pretty cool, man. Yeah. It was kind of like San Francisco for lesbians. Yeah. Might still be.
Starting point is 00:40:07 I don't know. Yeah, I don't know about the culture. Hit us up in the comments if it is. Like and smash. Is that what that mean? Something like that. All right. That also happens in Portland.
Starting point is 00:40:15 Portland is the first place I saw people shoeless with a home. Yeah. Oh. Oh, yeah. A little different. Have you been to Eugene? No, I have been to Eugene. You might see exclusively there.
Starting point is 00:40:29 Crunchy. Crunchy. Crunchy city. I always forget the drive-through Oregon is wild. Man, maybe for the tenure we'll drive up. I'm in. I'll fly down to drive up with you. I'm in.
Starting point is 00:40:41 My wife says it's okay, which she won't. Oh, you're just the two of you. Okay, yeah, I'll meet you up there. The two of yous. I'm just thinking I forgot, or maybe we'll take the trainer. I forgot, it is like nice to get up there. That drive, the drive from here to San Francisco is absolutely terrible. But the drive from San Francisco to Portland is pretty solid.
Starting point is 00:41:01 The drive from here to SF is trash. You will see depressing lake water levels. It's not part to that drive though. God, those, when you get up by Mount Shasta though, like whatever those red mountain area, like the water is so cool looking. It's a bummer that it's so low. Yeah. But it's so pretty up there.
Starting point is 00:41:18 Do they still make Shasta Cola? God, that was a staple. pullback in the... Computer? Isaac looked up. I think they had chocolate. Yeah, they still make it. It's the same card that makes LaCroy.
Starting point is 00:41:31 No way. I've seen Shasta at the grocery store. Shasta? Shasta? Okay, now here's where we're going to have to step in. Okay, we got to step in. Is it Shast? It's Shasta.
Starting point is 00:41:42 Okay, I've never had it before. When you're talking about soda. Yeah, yeah. Shastafarian. Let me get a live Shasta. Living that line. Isaac cut it. Nothing?
Starting point is 00:41:56 No. Nothing from David on that. He's focused. Sorry, I was looking at him Shasta. Did you hear his? I heard it. Laura can do that. I can't do that.
Starting point is 00:42:05 Laura can do what? She'll be focused on. She can't do the Shasta thing. She'll be focused and actually won't hear what's happening. I do not have that. It's the only way I can live in my life. So you didn't hear Sean do a Rastafarian accent yelling Shastafarian.
Starting point is 00:42:22 No, I didn't hear. I would have reacted. Because I didn't even connect with it as Rastafarian. I didn't know it wasn't attempted that. Yeah. Shouldn't it happen once. It was kind of in your shadow. His Jamaica gets lost in the weeds sometimes.
Starting point is 00:42:34 Right. I just thought he was, I thought he was making up something. I just thought he was yelling. I didn't know. I didn't recognize a race at all. Can you do that if you're on your phone and I start to end? I'm talking to you? Is there a world where like you don't hear it?
Starting point is 00:42:48 No, I don't think so. Wow. I don't know. I don't know. I got to lock you. Connect thing. Okay. Because can I tell you the thing I locked in on?
Starting point is 00:42:56 It just seemed so crazy to me. Shasta has a chocolate delight soda. I said that chocolate. Yeah, chocolate sugar. I didn't hear you say that. So maybe yes. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:43:05 I was going to say maybe. Yeah. They also have an apple, which is interesting. I like an apple soda. I like an apple soda. I've been known to crack an apple-flavored Celsius. Oh.
Starting point is 00:43:18 Fiji apple. I don't mind the Celsius. Never had a Celsius. Don't they really get, don't they really get you going? I'm going to give you the, don't get, you don't want this shit. Yeah. Alec Flynn told me not to do it and he's buck. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:30 And if he's telling me not to do it, then I shouldn't be doing it. That's the kind of thing. Yeah. Crack one of those, like when we were taping at 9 p.m. on after hours. Craig would crack one of those around eight. Yeah. Maybe. If that.
Starting point is 00:43:43 I'll steer clear. I've done a good job. You have a dream. You're screaming in your dream. Yeah. Coming off a Celsius is like coming off a blow. Yeah. Well, well, now.
Starting point is 00:43:52 Okay. No, I'm like, actually. Maybe I'll go get a Celsius. I like that. It's a serpentine raft. Now what is that man? That's a great question. What is that?
Starting point is 00:44:01 It's locked in. Like mopping the Florida in a grocery in a grocery aisle. Oh, okay. If you ever worked at a grocery store and you had to clean, you just go back and forth, back, backwards down the aisle. So you don't step in any of you. They never had me mopping. I was stocking. We had to do everything.
Starting point is 00:44:17 Did you ever have to do inventory? Do you remember that shit? Oh, they never. I had to do that at the gas station. It was like a whole day, though. It'd be like a whole day. You always wanted like dog food or whatever it was gigantic because you could just count them. But then sometimes you get like baby food.
Starting point is 00:44:30 Coolade packets. Like you'd have to go through every single thing. I was on like a coffee and tea aisle. Oh my God. It was weird. A lot of little boxes. Or like baby food was all glass. You had to be so careful with every single baby food because it was all glass.
Starting point is 00:44:44 Oh, it sucks so bad. And you had to get there five in the morning to do it. Now you said dog food earlier. Well, giant bags of dog food. Think about this. fog dude if you swap the letters dog hat
Starting point is 00:44:57 maybe jet fuel does melt that's what I'm saying okay at a 90 degree angle just like look one just look a little deeper maybe it does maybe don't believe
Starting point is 00:45:06 everything you hear maybe a building's supposed to fall straight down I say fog dude fog dude is a great name for a surfwear company fog dude
Starting point is 00:45:13 fog dude dog food I'm out there early you had the fog dude you had the fog dude oh I like that it's like sailing gear. We in the mist.
Starting point is 00:45:23 It's in the... What is happening, fam? This episode is sponsored by BetterHelp. Now, get a little deep on you. I'm going to ask you something, all right? I want to know. You wake up tomorrow and you can be amazing at one thing. Something that you're working on.
Starting point is 00:45:41 Something that you lack inability right now. For me, it might be calming down in traffic. You'll find that's a through line with the gentleman of all fantasy, everything, but I'd like to be calm. I would like to understand that people are just having a day. I have no idea what happened to them. I have no idea what they're going through. And I would like to be cooler about that.
Starting point is 00:46:02 I'm working on it. I'm getting there. But if I could wake up tomorrow and have it be done, bam. That's what I would pick. You can pick anything you want. You can be an amazing cook. You could sing like Michael Bolton. You could kick flip, which I can already do all three of those things.
Starting point is 00:46:13 So that's why I pick calming down in traffic. But I say all that to say this. I'm going to get a little deep on you. But better is a feeling. defined by you. It would be nice. We would need a guy who knows how to do it. That's the- It's very hard. I'm gonna stay on land for y'all just for you all to come back to I'll greet you all ashore, yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:54 What about a catamaran with a motor on it? Mm, catamaran has a hole in the middle, like water world. Yeah. Okay, now I'm kind of a little more interested in it. Yeah. I've been on a catamaran. That was in Costa Rica. Nobody gives it shit.
Starting point is 00:49:05 That's where they did the, this is how we do it as the sun was set. No, that's great. I think about that story. I just, it's the most used story. Lost the video. It's one of the biggest bummers. There's no proof. Maybe that's not a bummer.
Starting point is 00:49:17 I believe it had it at the memory. You'll have that memory. That'll be one of the last things you think about before I kill you. You just could not. Certainly how they show is. Showing me a picture of Costa Rica. Look at it. Remember.
Starting point is 00:49:29 What would you order today's draft? Basically you pick fourth in the first round and you pick first in the second round. Let's go. Let's really fuck shit up. No way. Oh, okay. Let's go Ian David Jamel Sean. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:49:44 Bing, Bing. It doesn't even make it. It's like a spirograph. Yeah, yeah. I don't, I think I can count on one hand the amount of times I've gone first in this draft. Listen, this is newbie and metal. Wow. This urban assault vehicle is going to start rolling down the street right after this short break.
Starting point is 00:50:06 And we're back, welcome back to All Fantasy, everything already in progress. It's time for me to make my first pick. Holy shit. Okay. Sitcom moms is the topic. I am uncomfortable. This is not a place I usually draft. Oh, you're very great.
Starting point is 00:50:20 Oh, the draft position. I'm like, nah. Wait to my hot corner, then. I'm last. You're hot corner. Yeah. We're going to take Roseanne. Quintessential.
Starting point is 00:50:30 Quintessential. Quintessential. Quintessential. We're taking the character. We're not taking, totally. No, no, no. Yeah. It's going to have Rosanne Barr. Roseanne Arnold.
Starting point is 00:50:38 Yeah. Conner. Connors. The Connors. Yeah. You're not taking Hitler cookies. No. What?
Starting point is 00:50:46 Yeah. What show is she a mom? You don't remember that? You don't remember that? A Hitler cookie? A Hitler cookie? Sounds like a rollerblade move. I did a backside, a back foot slide off the 1080 and then did a hit.
Starting point is 00:50:58 Don't do this to yourself. That's what a rollerblade move sounds like. No, Hitler cookie sounds like skate moves. Rollerbladers had like Lou King, Fish Brain, Porn Star, Zero Spin. They had dumb fucking names for their tricks. That's the one that you know from Tony Hawk. You know what I'm saying? And it looked like Jesus Christ.
Starting point is 00:51:15 It looks like. It's an awesome trick. Tick-Tac. hippie jump you're looking up skateboard trickness yeah I have to be
Starting point is 00:51:23 in this conversation I have to be in this conversation sure what is some other Tick-tack is just when you go you tap your front wheels around yeah like you're moving on like one of those like a bike that you're barely moving on
Starting point is 00:51:37 Casper that's where you do half a kickflip put your back foot on the tail front foot Gazelle Walk the dog A gazette You're looking from like
Starting point is 00:51:45 Butterflips Yeah I was going to say these are like These are the dup These are the dudes putting parking cones on the These are undercover cop Skateboard tricks That is the Wikipedia
Starting point is 00:51:55 I want You guys got me weed drugs I'm gonna tick-tack You boys doing some butter flips We're gonna get some good Cush Ghetto Bird Hey boys
Starting point is 00:52:05 Where are the Casper flips Happen in today Disco flips Pop Chovets And you think Hitler cookies doesn't fit into that No Yes it does
Starting point is 00:52:13 Look up rollerblade trick All right Do me a solid I watched a whole video About the death of rollerbladers The vice one that just came out? Yeah, it kind of does make skateboarders look like assholes.
Starting point is 00:52:23 Cooler. Cool, asshole, potato, potato, whatever. I don't know. Macchio, acid, royale. Those sound cool to me, dude. Stop skewing it your way. Half cab is a skate term. Are you telling me half caps in there?
Starting point is 00:52:36 Are you telling me half caps? Yes, half cabs. Half cabs are. Half caballelero comes from doing half of a caballario. Steve Caballero, who's a skateboarder, not a rollerblader. Well, too bad, bro. Well, what do you think fucking flip comes from? Or kick.
Starting point is 00:52:48 Soccer. Skateboarding. This is like when you find out a good friend is actually racist. We stole it from gymnastics. Holy scary. It says cabalero on there? It says caballero on there. Zero spin, fish brain, porn star, Lou Kang.
Starting point is 00:53:09 You just keep saying the same. Those are the ones that you don't know. Royal, soil. Spark, Big Nugan, that's going to bug you. When have you ever not been the dominant culture in wheel sport. Never. It's always been. Yeah, so why are you so hard on rollerbladers?
Starting point is 00:53:24 That's a good point. They're just trying to get on. You are punching down. Hard. I'll kick down. I'll throw down. Oh, I'll shoot down. Well, rollerblading sucks. I don't know what you want. I need to look in the camera.
Starting point is 00:53:35 I can't get behind rollerbladers. You were never under any threat from rollerbladers. No, they were trying to have a good time. They were just trying to enjoy their life. Why is this happening right now? No one has ever been. Thank you, Jamel. I appreciate it. What are you two doing?
Starting point is 00:53:45 If you're a rollerblader is honest. nobody's ever been a rollerblader for the fucking frontman. I'll introduce me. Yeah, nobody was rollerblading to be cool. No. No. They loved it. Yes, they were.
Starting point is 00:53:57 A lot of posers. They failed. A lot of posers were. There was like a seven-month period during jet set radio future when rollerblading was cool. Come on. Yeah. Rollerblading was as cool as long as Dreamcast was cool. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:09 Eight weeks. That was the exact period. It wasn't cool. Rollerblading. You're kind of coming from my culture with the Dreamcast. I kind of don't. I had a Dreamcast. I had a Dreamcast.
Starting point is 00:54:18 I had a dream cast. I had a dream cast. Not right now is all I'll say. Okay? You're kind of taking it in place. Taxi. What about it? Crazy Toxy?
Starting point is 00:54:27 Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. What about a t-shirt with Martin Luther King's Jr.? I have a dream cast. We are cooking. I don't know how you didn't get there first. I know. It's crazy you haven't got there. I'm not going to lie.
Starting point is 00:54:46 He just came to your barbecue. and took some yeah yeah it's like a diplomat I have a dream cast underneath I don't know how we're gonna
Starting point is 00:54:57 tossing stuff out there I don't know how we're gonna edit the clip from Roseanne to that but it's gonna have to happen I could also see a version where maybe it's just like a Martin Luther King's face
Starting point is 00:55:06 in one of those digital memory cards you remember the dream cast memory had pictures on it yeah they said you could play games on the memory card that's right you could read
Starting point is 00:55:16 I have a dream speech on the memory card. Why didn't Dreamcast it worked? The problem was it was too easy to bootleg the games. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:24 The Dreamcast problem was it was too good. The format, the GD. ROM. Yeah. Shout out to all my gangster disciples. Yeah, they must have gone crazy. They probably went crazy in Chicago for this.
Starting point is 00:55:35 But it was, the graphics were better than PS1 and 64 and stuff, but it was easier to bootleg the games. And that's why they didn't make a ton of money. I had a dream cast. It's,
Starting point is 00:55:48 for the streets, man. Shooting free throws on NBA 2K on the Dreamcast where you had to bring both the joysticks in was so hard. Dog, NFL 2K was so fun. It's one of the best games ever, man. Chris Carter was always open. Oh, my God. Why receiver comeback?
Starting point is 00:56:02 He's always open. I had a UFC game on there. Yeah, man. And then I had crazy taxi. I had Grand Radio. I lied and said I beat Shenmu. I never beat Shenmu. Oh, Shenmu.
Starting point is 00:56:13 That was the Ninja game? No, it's like... What Shenmu? Shenmu is like... You're a guy in... Japan and you're kind of trying to navigate the yakuza and stuff. That's right. But you're just like a guy just like.
Starting point is 00:56:24 You're not in the yakuza? Not quite. See, I didn't beat the game. I don't know. I don't know how it ended. Yeah, that's how I'm around you. It's just around and then you got to like, you got to get in there. Did Korea fuck with Shenmu or was that sort of a Japan thing?
Starting point is 00:56:39 You're like, we're not doing that. We didn't, yeah, I don't think we, I was not old enough to fuck with the Sega Dreamcast. I just looked it up. I was just looking at it. don't have any memory of playing this concert. When was a Dreamcast? It was like junior high school? Straight up 2000.
Starting point is 00:56:53 99. 2000. I think it came out nine, either 98 or 99. I remember in seventh or eighth grade going to this girl's house and her mom's boyfriend had a dream cast and he was playing NFL 2K online talking shit to people. And I was like, whoa, this is crazy. You could go online. I remember it was like, it was like, I was an eighth year.
Starting point is 00:57:13 The Arsenal shirt sponsor. Yeah. Yeah. Oh. titles, okay. Yes. Tierie Henri. Yeah, man.
Starting point is 00:57:19 Henri wore a dream cash jersey. Patrick Vieira. I like that West Ham, Doc Martin one. Oh, that's like the new shit. Or the back in the day. Oh, back in the day. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Now it's boils.
Starting point is 00:57:30 Back when you really kicked in the head by a Doc Martin, they were reping that on their chest. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And that was the team. Pretty good. If not Millwall. Which is crazy. Isaac, you're a big Millwall guy, right?
Starting point is 00:57:40 No, actually, Millwall has a very bad reputation. No, I know, of course. That's why I've heard it up. Yeah, I had no Millwall from that Green Street Juligans Isaac's a big Latsio guy Isaac loves Lottia
Starting point is 00:57:50 Yeah Hate Roma of course Oh my God No bright and Ovalbian Up the Seagulls I know I know You know who they just signed Real Ferdinand's kid
Starting point is 00:58:01 Oh yeah yeah yeah The Under 21s did Get fuck out of here Yeah Ferdinand the Bull Ferdinand the Bull David I took Roseanne
Starting point is 00:58:08 Working class show It's incredibly funny A lot of heart Dad's dead Fat people on TV It was great. David, time for your second pick. Black Aunt Viv.
Starting point is 00:58:20 Oh. It's going with the first one. Yeah. Yeah, who she was pregnant and did have a kid. Mm-hmm. Had Nikki. Yeah. Drain the color out of her.
Starting point is 00:58:35 I said it, and I stand on it. She passed it all the Nikki. And she was Carlton. How did Nikki have... Yeah, she's a mom. They expected us to believe Nikki had two light-skinned parents. who's naked they expected us to believe Ashley and Carlton had two light skin parents
Starting point is 00:58:54 That's gonna say that's crazy Yeah But dark skin and Vib I think the highlight Was when she did the dance class Yeah I was gonna say dance class comes to mind The big arms crazy shoulders Do you think that's what cooked her
Starting point is 00:59:09 Or do you think it was colorism I think she had a beef with Will Is that what it was? That's what I'm seeing here She was beefing with Will And it was like contract stuff and obviously Will it's Will's thing. You can't beef with Will.
Starting point is 00:59:21 And everybody at NBC is taking the stance that you can't beef with Will. Because the character, they scaled the character back completely. She was a much bigger part of the show. And then the new one, not even outside of the color thing. Yeah. The new one, Aunt Viv, never had major plot lines. No, she's turned away. How long did she make it?
Starting point is 00:59:41 Was it the whole first season? There's a couple. Maybe even like four years. Yeah, it was a few years. It was a few years. Right around three or four. And then, yeah, and then they knocked her up and shut her up. Crazy.
Starting point is 00:59:53 Weird. But character. Like, Amvib really? There was a baby. They had a baby? Yeah, baby Nikki. But then Nikki, and then when they switch Ann Vives, Nikki is also kind of gone? Nikki, Nikki was like the transition.
Starting point is 01:00:06 And then Nikki came back as a talk as Ross Bagley. Oh, right. Remember? So there was baby Nikki, there was baby Nikki for a minute. And then no toddler Nikki. And then Nikki was talking. now he was talking. I don't remember the second version of Nikki.
Starting point is 01:00:20 I don't remember the baby at all. There was baby Nikki for a little bit. Interesting. Yeah. I mean, because back then there was so many episodes. Yeah. But dark skin,
Starting point is 01:00:29 Ann Viv, she was a professor. That was the other thing. She was like such a defined character. Like, dark skin, hand Viv was a professor. She was like real,
Starting point is 01:00:37 she was really like. She was also from Philly. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, because that's Will's Aunt Viv. Right, right, right. Uncle Phil is not related to him. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:45 Every time they have to go back to the block, it's because of her. Diva! Like that was, that was her sister. Yeah. Janet Hubert. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:53 Janet Hubert was amazing. That is such a good, just such a like everything you want a sitcom mom to be. And then Daphne Maxwell Reed took her place. And not is, it just, just quiet,
Starting point is 01:01:04 didn't really, didn't really have much going on. No, she didn't really. Yeah, she was just kind of like the good wife. And it was, and it's almost like it,
Starting point is 01:01:11 I feel like in that will became more of a central character. So figure that out, however you want. Well, because he now he only even has... Yeah, yeah, you know, listen, the roster's bless you. Now he only has one parent he even has to really listen to.
Starting point is 01:01:24 Yeah. Mm-hmm. I think also at that point he's like in college. Yeah. He's just, you know. But he still lives in the pool house. Yeah, he did. Sure did.
Starting point is 01:01:34 But, yeah, first half, Viv. I guess it's more intro, like, I wonder what the, I wonder what happened in the writer's room, other than her, the actress bething, where they just like, if Will is acting up a, against a woman who's from where he's from. Is that less of a conflict?
Starting point is 01:01:52 I don't know. You know what I mean? Because the conflict, because, like, yeah, it just all kind of changed. Did Uncle Phil, was he like a bootstraps guy or was he like? Yeah. Yeah, for sure. They were together. They were like, because he has, there were several times where somebody tried Uncle Phil.
Starting point is 01:02:09 And he was like, don't try me. I protested. He's also a pool hustler too. Breakout. Yeah, that's right. showed up with his cue. Like, he had it. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:19 He had to go chest to chest a few times. And then there was like when they were in the old neighborhood, right? Yeah. So when Will used to go to visit them in L.A., I assume they were in Crenshaw. Oh, yeah, they was down. Remember, like, they had to go back down to the old neighborhood. Right.
Starting point is 01:02:33 And then, like, Uncle Phil was bringing Will in. And Will was like, Uncle Phil, that slimmy was about to give me some uncle cookies. Did anyone ever watch? Did anyone ever watch the, what was it, the fresh? print the whatever the one was from a couple years ago. The one from Bel Air. It was called Bel Air.
Starting point is 01:02:52 Yeah, yeah, yeah. I watched the first season. Shout to Ali Shola time. Yeah, he was, he was on my mom, but told me, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I watched the first season. I liked it. I thought it was fun. I had a tough time with it. Did you? It was. It was intense. Well, it was just, if you've watched the sitcom a bunch of times over and over,
Starting point is 01:03:09 anything dramatic is like, damn, this is weird. Yeah, yeah. But I was with it. I had fun watching it. I never got to the sitcom. third season. I feel like I started the second season. I think that's what I started the second two and bailed. Carlton got really tough in that show. But it's like, Carlton wasn't whack on the Fresh Prince. He was himself. Yeah. He was corny. Carlton never did some shit where you were like, fuck this guy. Well, that's the thing. And Carlton is trying to shoot somebody. Yeah. Season one,
Starting point is 01:03:38 he was an asshole technically. Obviously he grows into the character. Him and Will and Carlton become closer. Yeah, they love each other. You're right. When he was first got there, he was not cool. He was arrogant. But that's what they based a lot of the dramatic shit off was him being a dick. And it's like, but if you're a fan of the show, that didn't go on very long.
Starting point is 01:03:58 Well, Carlton and Bel Air was trying to like sabotage Will. Yeah. And he was like. He was also letting a lot of people say some shit that wasn't cool. The way that he acts in the dramatic version is only like maybe eight episodes of the whole original version. Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:16 I'm going to have to rewatch the sitcom. Yeah, go back. Oh, man, it's so much fun. A lot of really dated jokes about celebrities in early seasons, too. A lot of height jokes. Man, they're going at Madonna, like, weekly. You go, yo, they do shoot at Madonna. Also, Jeffrey is funnier than you remember.
Starting point is 01:04:35 I bet he was. Jeffrey was really funny. Didn't Jeffrey have to do something gnarly one time, too? Like, get Will out of something? Oh, Lady Penelope. He had to go get Lady Penelope, his old. like his old family's daughter came and she was like wild
Starting point is 01:04:51 and he had to go grab her from the bar I think okay yeah yeah yeah I think Jeffrey probably had it too oh Jeffrey had it Jamel time for your first Beck give me Marge Simpson yeah Mark's a great pick
Starting point is 01:05:06 give me March Simpson I mean the first cartoon mom yeah let me take that back not the first cartoon mom but like the the highest, like the number one cartoon mom. Never surpassed. There's some other ones who I bet we'll be taking in this draft, but like Marge is the one.
Starting point is 01:05:23 She's the one. She's like... Vacuum cleaner in the video game. Remember they would make her kind of sexy every now and that? Yeah, exactly. She would kind of put that shit on. I was going to say it. Yeah. They're still, yeah, exactly. We're still getting certain advertising. Yeah, come on, man. Didn't Marge do Playboy there as a playboy? Probably something like that. Yeah, I think literally.
Starting point is 01:05:44 Like a real one. They also, this is not the first time this has been talked about, but how in love her and Homer were? Yeah. Like they never, there wasn't that like sitcom like, I hate my husband. Yeah. They loved each other. They didn't marry with children them.
Starting point is 01:05:57 No, they didn't. They were like in love. He was never like my ugly wife. No, he loved her. The only time he was tempted was when he worked at the plant with that lady. He was voiced by Cindy Crawford. Was the plant lady? What about when Homer was doing country music?
Starting point is 01:06:13 That's what I was thinking about. Loretta Loughlin? Loretta Lynn, I thought. No, but that's the real. Oh, yeah. That's who she always got. When he was singing country, she came at him. But he was never in, right?
Starting point is 01:06:25 I mean, she was like flirting with him and he was always. He was about it, man. He was in a full white tucks with the rhinestones. He was, yeah. Homer was. Homer was going? No. Homer would have gone.
Starting point is 01:06:38 I'm not saying he's going. Lurlien Lumpkin. Lurlien Lumpkin. I'm not saying he went, but he. would have, he was, she tried to seduce him, but he was open, he was not open to, she tried to seduce him, he rebuffed her, but he was there, he was playing the Colonel Tom Parker role. He was there, dog. Yeah, he was there. It does feel like if you're in the situation, to be seduced, somebody was getting the vibe that you were maybe cool with it. Right. Like,
Starting point is 01:07:03 no one's ever tried to seduce me, well, probably ever, but if they did, they wouldn't do it cold, you know, I'd have to give them some indication that, hey, I'm going to seduce you. I don't know if I've People have tried to seduced. Seduced? Seduce. I don't know that I've ever been seduced. Seduced. I don't know if you've been seduced.
Starting point is 01:07:23 Yeah, how does seduction work in the world of skateboarding? Shorty brings you a big gulp and... That's kind of where it starts. In the back of someone's civic. In the back of your buddy is civic? Shorty brings you a big coupe. You're the first guy you ever said that. Anyway, bro.
Starting point is 01:07:42 Yeah, Marge. March. March. How could you not? And also her sisters are, I swear they based her sisters off of my aunty and Selma. My aunts. Patty and Selma are my Aunt Gwen and I, Wendy, R.P. Oh, smoking stickers inside.
Starting point is 01:07:57 Just sigs and just hating. Yeah. Just non-stop hating. Fish y'all every day, man. That's all they did was hate. Just hate. Patty and Selma were. And just like listen to Parliament and hate.
Starting point is 01:08:10 And my Aunt Wendy loved cartoons. Really? Whoa. So she was running cartoons. She was like hit a J, smoking a couple of cools And they're those the tunes on Were they single? Did they stay single?
Starting point is 01:08:20 They were single. They was definitely some confirmed bachelorette's. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what I'm saying? They both had kids. Did they live with each other? No. No, okay.
Starting point is 01:08:28 It was in the hood. We was like down the street from me. Sure, sure, sure. Smoking cools. Yeah. She had Cool's merch. Like she had like cool points? Yeah, she had cool points.
Starting point is 01:08:37 She had the mug with the letters changed colors. Oh. Hell yeah. Your coffee is mentholated. The letters changing costs. Shout to the blue cools, man. There were the greens and the blues. Those cool blue, the menthol, they were all menthol.
Starting point is 01:08:51 The blues were like double menthol. Those were nuts. We used to, the rumor used to be. Those were my wintertime cigarettes. The rumor was that those would crystallize your lungs and there was like, everybody would always be like, dude, somebody. The rumors are true, brother. And if you hit the steering wheel, your lungs are going to shatter.
Starting point is 01:09:07 We used to say that, like T2. No. Yeah, menthols are worse for you. Yeah. That's not even fair. That's what we would run those. You can't buy them, right? In California, anyone? That's right, didn't they ban them?
Starting point is 01:09:17 Yeah. Crazy. That's what we would, you know, when I was like 21. It was cool blues out of my depth. I used to steal them from the gas station I worked out. I would steal them because nobody bought the cool blues. Did you ever get, because there was one place, M&Ms and Sue Falls that would sell Lucy's. It was so crazy.
Starting point is 01:09:33 You walk in and get a cigarette for a quarter. New York in Louis. One place. Yeah. I never, maybe San Francisco a couple places at him, but I never was big. in a loosey culture. I would. I would. It's just a weird thing to see. In San Francisco though, there'd be people on the street
Starting point is 01:09:49 a lot selling cigarettes. Yeah. So you could just get a cigarette from a buck like somebody would be signed. I see. All fantasy everything. If the place did that with like skittles or something, I would have been super into it. Lose skittles. One's the corner, let me get three skittles. Let me get three skittles. Oh, fuck. Let me get three skittles. How long have he's been in your corner, bro? Just the corner? How are they storing them? He's got the thing on the, you know,
Starting point is 01:10:11 like the coin thing on the wearing their belt, tink, tink, to kink, like that. He's got them separated by color. He's got Skittles, Eminem's, peanut Eminems, and Smarties. And those smarties have been in there a long time. Oh, man. Yeah. Dude, that was those dudes at the arcade that would knock you out some quarters?
Starting point is 01:10:26 Yeah. Hey, the game froze. There you go. You ever notice if you ate enough smarties, they stop even tasting like candy anymore? Yeah. You like, I think this might just be chalk. You just get the... Like the first four and the last four are candy,
Starting point is 01:10:38 those middle four might just be chock. Max's favorite candy, smarties. That's just the first. first marty and the last morning's her favorite thing yeah yeah the chalky consistency nice su caramel too favorite candy really yeah nice dude time for your first and your second pick tastes like tums uh no they more sugary than tums i like the taste of tums i don't mind them sometimes on a very indulgent day when i'm like i need a tums anyway but i'll have a couple extra like flintstone vitamins yeah can't be bad i have too many flavored tums they do have like those
Starting point is 01:11:09 Tom's Creamies? Tom's Creamies. Old Spice Tums. That's nuts. First pick, I got to go Peg Bundy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, you don't like it. No, yeah, no, I do.
Starting point is 01:11:22 Hey, no, I mean, Peg, iconic, man. Yeah, yeah, perfect, mom. Peg, like, it's not her fault, but Mary with Children definitely led us down a weird path. Yeah. As a nation, I would say. But we was all locked in. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:37 You can't act like we didn't watch every episode. Fantastic show. Yeah. She also got so much shit from Al. She's a knockout. She's for being hot as hell, wearing hot pants all the time. It's insane.
Starting point is 01:11:51 Well, turned out that was the joke. At the time, I didn't know that. Yeah, we didn't know what the fuck was going on. I got to go back and watch it. I don't think I got that show. As a kid, I just didn't have reference even enough to understand why it's funny. I just really don't think I got it. I get now why it's probably funny.
Starting point is 01:12:07 But as a kid, I remember I just didn't. I just didn't get it. They had a men's group called no ma'am. Yeah. What the fuck? You always made fun of the neighbor for being flat-chested. I remember that. Yeah, he did.
Starting point is 01:12:21 Yes, he did. Which is nice. That's crazy. I forgot about the Marcy Darcy. I just can't imagine even giving a shit about Marcy. My wife is so much hotter than Marcy. I don't know what the fuck. What was the dude's name?
Starting point is 01:12:35 Jefferson Darcy. Well, there were two of them. Yeah. She had one guy that looked like Kevin Spacey for a minute And then Jefferson came in Oh, the hotter guy What's the guy's name? What's the actor's name?
Starting point is 01:12:45 The second one? Nineby's hot he was. Uh-huh. Yeah. He's still, he was intriguing. He's still, uh, he's still a hot dude. And then the little boy was like a loser, bud was like a loser. Ted McGinley.
Starting point is 01:12:55 Sure, sure. Yeah, but Pegg was just, uh, you know. Wasn't Ted McGinley in like the military or something like his character? Because I remember in Iraq, Iran, I married. Like him and some dude he was like, who would like fit overseas with where they like served those places and they were all equally bad iraq i ran i married and that joke stuck with me because the word they really shit on marriage in that show yeah like it's the worst thing in the world but it's the whole everywhere there's a beautiful
Starting point is 01:13:23 woman there's a guy who's tired of fucking her that was like the central joke to married with children right yeah that was the peg was just like pumping sigs and because al used to be like a football star or something yeah but like she was super in love with him right yeah yeah Yeah, she tolerated. Yeah, yeah. And he also was... I thought she liked him. He was super in love with her, too.
Starting point is 01:13:43 It was one of those things, too. Like, he would talk about straying or like, look at other women, but there's never a world where he would have done. It always came back. Because it got, it was a couple times it was served up and he, like, shut it down. People were serving it up to how? I think a couple times. And one of those weird where there's Fox. They had to, there'd be like a model and, like, she would go all the way and he'd have to finally be like, oh, no, I'm not.
Starting point is 01:14:06 I'm not. I won't do this for real. I didn't know it was going to get this far. I have a confession now. I love shoe salesman. Something like that. Yeah, yeah. And I, ooh, yeah, yeah. So, yeah, yeah, Peg Bundy, and then second pick on Peggy Hill, staying with the pegs.
Starting point is 01:14:22 Yeah, that was the pegged. Yeah, Peggy Hill. Peggy Hill. Peggy. He's getting pegged, folks. Give me those tobogging feet, Peggy Hill. There's the YouTube. Sean Jordan gets pegged.
Starting point is 01:14:39 There we go. Zoom in thumbnail. And Sean's face like, we're about to go huge. Oh no. We're about to go huge on YouTube. Skateboarder gets pegged. Skateboarder gets pegged.
Starting point is 01:14:53 With nasty rollerblade talk. That'll be the B. You don't need that. We'll just skateboarder gets pegged. Yeah, we'll A-B test. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Peggy Hill. We won't believe what skateboarder gets pegged.
Starting point is 01:15:04 Yeah. You won't believe what we put in Sean's ass. Damn. That may be the third one. Yeah, okay. Just some options for you. Now, what I will say about Peggy Hill is... Not hot?
Starting point is 01:15:18 I think she's kind of stacked. Something about, I mean... I think she wore jorts, but I think Peggy's stacked. I would marry Peggy Hill. I would. I would. There was never one time where there was anything other than that on her. Maybe like a dress, but like they never showed her in a swimsuit or anything.
Starting point is 01:15:39 Yeah, and when she got baptized. When she got baptized, when her and Louand got baptized, when her and when her and she was clinging to her and was like, oh. Stop. Yeah. And when, uh, and when she was friends with that prostitute and she got done up. Oh, right.
Starting point is 01:15:55 I do. Yeah. I was like, was there ever an episode where they tried to glam pay? No, they, I think that Bill was not as far off as you think. I think Peggy was kind of stacked. She just dressed kind of funny. And Peggy is annoying, but she's a writer Oh yeah
Starting point is 01:16:09 Peggy's a fucking writer Yeah She's like like that's a Whatever Yeah she's held that family together Yeah she's down for the team Like yeah she's she's What are we talking about?
Starting point is 01:16:18 She's beautiful look at her Beautiful mother A beautiful mother Beautiful mother Hold the family together Sure Tolerating him getting hammered in the alley Every day
Starting point is 01:16:26 Yeah How drunk do you think they were doing? I don't think I don't think Hank was I think I think Dale And Bill were getting pretty shitty It was because they were showing up
Starting point is 01:16:35 shit like they're cracking beers at the house and then we're meeting they were drinking all the bill was drinking all day right yeah yeah so and hank is coming in for maybe like two two and a half of those i think he's nursing two beers yeah yeah the only time i ever saw hank drunk was when he in high school when he's like play the gambler and then he got bill's name tattooed on the back of his head right yeah yeah yeah no hank's pretty responsible Hank didn't really yeah yeah assless he's not a wild guy no ass no ass does he ever fuck pecking in the show is there an episode Hank like, yeah. They allude.
Starting point is 01:17:07 When he gets on the, when he gets on the, uh, it's not TRT, when he gets on that shit that when he's acting all young, he's like lipped in weights and he keeps banging Peggy all that. Oh, yeah. Yeah. That's right. He's like, he's like,
Starting point is 01:17:20 he's like, he's like, he's like, he gets rowdy. Okay. Yeah, because Homer and Marsh fucked all the time. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:27 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Hank was a little too modest to tell anyone about it. Oh. Yeah. That's how he finished. Oh. Oh.
Starting point is 01:17:36 Chamel, time for your second pick. Damn, okay. My second pick, give me Florida Evans from Good Time. Florida. The 70s hit sitcom. Come in a child. Good times. Easy credit ripal.
Starting point is 01:17:55 Now, yes, Good Times is created by a white guy. 100%. But I'll be damned. If Esther roll did not hold us all down, she did a great job. Is she related to Samari roll? I hope so. I hope so, too. I hope to God.
Starting point is 01:18:12 I hope so too. How big of a miren roll? Samari roll. It might be a role. It might be a whole dynasty. Basket of rolls. Okay. Computer?
Starting point is 01:18:23 I'm out of my depth on good times. I never really saw it. Honestly, Florida Evans kind of like Black Peggy Hill. She's just with the shits. in a very... She's not annoying though, like Peggy Hill. Yeah, not annoying. She's a lot less annoying.
Starting point is 01:18:38 But just as asexual, we're not thinking about Florida in that way at all. Which is crazy because her husband was a smoke show. They are part of the same extended Bahamanian family. Yes. They're Baham men. They're Baham men.
Starting point is 01:18:51 Yes. Yeah. Wow. Very underrated catchphrase as well. Damn, damn, damn? No. Florida. I don't think it was underrated at all.
Starting point is 01:19:02 Who let the dogs out properly rated? 25 years later. Florida Evans. Yeah. Damn, damn. Anytime something would go wrong. Yeah. I watched not a lot of good times.
Starting point is 01:19:18 It was not a lot. What channel was the thing? Well, it was like UPN reruns. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm running it on UPN, midday, this time of year. Yeah. Summertime. After school.
Starting point is 01:19:30 Oh, summertime. Midday. Because I feel like. in the morning UPN was always family ties. Charles in charge, who's the boss? Not, listen, midday, the D.C. affiliate was like Black reruns. Okay.
Starting point is 01:19:43 And I got, I ran through good times, two times in a row. Really? One of the saddest shows ever. Do you ever watch Webster? You know what? Not really. I ran through Webster a couple times. See, and that's the difference between us.
Starting point is 01:19:55 Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Webster's a weird fucking show. Yeah, Webster's insane. It's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, playing a kid, but he was a guy with a brockley's Twitter. It was just way weirder than different strokes.
Starting point is 01:20:08 Yeah. It was a weird. Different strokes. That's when you said was sad, right? Different strokes was sad. Different strokes is not. Good times. Good times is sad. Yeah, because they're broke as fuck, right? Yeah, they're just in Chicago. They're in the projects. JJ's always trying to come up. Yeah, yeah. They're in Cabrini Green and it's just, you know,
Starting point is 01:20:25 it's just day-to-day life. And Florida is with the hottest guy in the building. He's so hot. In Florida, yeah. John Amos. Florida Evans totally necklace. Has no neck.
Starting point is 01:20:36 I have a neck to be found. Which was what made Samari such a good cornerback. Neckless, so worried every day. Well, she got laid off a lot. Exactly.
Starting point is 01:20:49 She's always trying to get a gig. I'll tell you this. Samari Roll didn't have much of a neck either. Damn. Not much of a neck. It's, there's a neck. At least it's present.
Starting point is 01:20:59 What a family. Yeah, that is pretty cool. also her friends are all hot like Florida is the only not hot person in the show her kids are hot too yeah absolutely Thelma yeah you fucking kidding me
Starting point is 01:21:14 Thelma yeah she had a kid named Thelma She had a kid named Thelma She named the child Thelma Baby Phelma Can you imagine that mother Florida Holding Baby Thelma It rocks okay That sounds like a painting
Starting point is 01:21:28 Yeah And it will be soon. Yo, if you learn to paint, you're out of here. If you learn to start really, if there's Jamel Johnson original print. Artworks, that would really go nuts. I got a Jamel Johnson original Buffalo butt from good times. Go to Fat Riley in a week. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:21:53 Listen, check me at the gallery. If you're doing portraits out of the Rose Bowl. I will be running a gallery in Venice before. where the show wins. All right. Look at a Gilbert Arena's jersey at the Hammer Museum now.
Starting point is 01:22:11 David, it's time for your second pick. My, okay, number two, I'm going to go. Oh, man,
Starting point is 01:22:20 I love an adversarial mother. I'm going lowest from Malcolm in the middle. Oh, yeah. Wow. They went to war and as someone
Starting point is 01:22:28 who went to war with his mother. Right. That was like the, that's it. Like, for a while, we're just ops. Listen, you shitheads. We're like straight up, like, that's my enemy. And we fight for real.
Starting point is 01:22:40 And I respect my enemy. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. They could end my life. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I afford my enemy the respect they need. But, like, I do respect. That show was like poor kids beefing with their mom. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:55 That was that whole show, and I relate to that. That's real life. Like, like, and she loved them. and the undercurrent of love was there, but it was like, no, we fight. My mother was like the Navy SEALs of guilt. There was no beating her. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:23:08 So I didn't even try. That man. I didn't even try. The guilt that would be fucking wielded, like a cudgel. That's what they got. Who show up on my door crying? Yo. No way.
Starting point is 01:23:19 No way. Showing up at your door. Like your bedroom door? Yeah. No. We're in the house. I'm sitting there. Knocking on your bedroom door.
Starting point is 01:23:30 I don't know what I did to make you behave like this. Oh, that kind of thing. I'm playing 2K! I'm not even doing nothing. What the fuck? She's holding a report card with a C on it. You're like, signs. Showing a picture of it.
Starting point is 01:23:42 It's so funny. Yeah. I can't even imagine it. That's an impossible scenario. Now you have to sit here like a girlfriend. What are you doing here? You got to tell me if you're coming over. It's funny.
Starting point is 01:23:56 You're here, but... No, it's cool. Yeah, I just wasn't... I wasn't playing. on it, but I mean, sure, come on in. But yeah, Lois, she was just like, because she wasn't, what she never did was give up. Yeah. And her boys were bad. Yeah, they were.
Starting point is 01:24:12 They were not. They were kids. Bad as fuck. Yeah. She never gave up once. Husband was useless. Husband was useless. I think that he was a provider. I think he was madly in love with her. Yes. And I think he was breaking her the fuck off. I mean, it's got to be. That's the last piece of the map. Pandemonium? Howe was dropping dick off.
Starting point is 01:24:32 Yeah, for sure. And I think she needed it because the kids were so stressful. Yeah, she was so stressed out. So I think, I think, I think, Hal served his duty in the way that he could. Bi-monthly piping? Yeah. I don't think it was, I think it was, I think it was, I think it was, I think it was, I think weekly at least. Whoa.
Starting point is 01:24:46 That was a pay period. That was a current. That was like a thing in the show. Okay. How was, he was like, madly in love with her and loved fucking. You think the other kind of bi-weekly, twice a week. What? You think twice a week?
Starting point is 01:24:57 At least. Well, okay. I think Hal was. I think Hal was slamming that thing like it was tied to a loose tooth. All the years. All the years I know. When I haven't fun anymore? I never heard that in my life.
Starting point is 01:25:14 I just never heard it before. That's great. It's all fucking beautiful. That's a new one. I've never heard. That's literature. It was regal. That's literature.
Starting point is 01:25:29 Holy shit, man. Yeah. I think and I do by the way That's what I love about Hal is that you didn't Because what I'm learning about relationships You don't really always understand how people show up for each other Yeah that's right You know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:25:43 So it's like in the lens that we watch that show It does look like Hal's useless But I think Hal was What he was doing couldn't be shown on broadcast I think not yet The first episode she was shaving him naked in the living room Yeah that's right Like they were freaked out
Starting point is 01:25:57 Yeah I think they were fucking for real And she was saving him for space speed. She said, I need you to move faster. Let me get all this hair off. Yeah, that's right. Telling the kids at dinner. No, I said that. Your parents will be upstairs for the rest of the night. Yeah, yeah. I think that's where You animals eat your pork chops.
Starting point is 01:26:13 It was just him, he's so madly and he can't keep his, he's like. Can't keep his hands off? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Jane Casmeric. Yeah, Jane Cachsmer. Time for my second and third picks. Speaking of freaks, who can't get enough of each other. I'm taking more Tisha Adams. I'm going way back.
Starting point is 01:26:30 Gomez. Gomez and Oratius. He could not get enough. And he could not get a lot of you. All the way up the arm. Yeah, yeah. And she loved it too. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:26:40 They're the sexiest. Oh, yeah. They're both hot. They're both hot. Even back the, even on the TV show in the 60s, they were like clearly fucking. Yeah. Which we need, I like that sitcom trope more than the other one. Absolutely.
Starting point is 01:26:53 I don't like the Al Bundy thing. We don't like each other. Yeah, man. Get that the fuck out of here, man. We're bound together by these. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, Carolyn Jones, she first played her on a TV show. I gotta assume the Adams family was doing something for the Latino community.
Starting point is 01:27:13 I think so too. They was kind of doing some. Gomez is a, yeah. Gomez. I don't know what kind of is mortician. The reason, you know, is kind of, yeah, got, got culture. Yeah, like the dark, dark lipstick. Never left the Latino community.
Starting point is 01:27:27 Never left the Latino community. He says he's Spanish. Mm. Okay. Congratulations. Well, because that's where spooky people are, like, that's where it's from Transylvania. It's like Europe. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:27:39 Also, you even get to be kooky and spooky like that. Yeah. Mm. Where did they live? California. They was probably in California. I think they were in California. It was like 60s and said, man.
Starting point is 01:27:49 They were in every town you were in like, yeah, Burbank. They were like the verbs. But they're from Transylvania? Or am I making that? Where are they from? The Adams family? I don't know if they ever lay out where they're from. Okay.
Starting point is 01:27:59 You don't think that's just like a weird house in the valley? Yeah, panorama city. Yeah, I could see that. God, Panorama City is so darkly, dude. Yeah, it's crazy. But in the 60s, though? Right. Probably had it going on.
Starting point is 01:28:10 Frankenstein and a ball, a hair guy on the block. Yeah. They started out as a New Yorker cartoon in the Adams family. But they were like, yeah, yeah. Interesting. A guy named Adams drew Charles Adams. But they were like this, they were, you know, what happened in the movies in the TV show.
Starting point is 01:28:24 They were like the kooky got family that made everyone, like show you to how crazy the suburbs are. Yeah. You where it's like, oh, no, that's the fucked up shit. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's Buena Park. That's what they represent. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:28:35 Orange County, bro. Orange County is altogether Uki. Altogether Uki. If you put it all together and that shit is Oonkees. It's the ukiest. But yeah, Morticia and in the interest of time, as we do go on, I'm going to go ahead and take Lucille Bluth for the rest of the development. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:28:57 Just on pure comedy. Was on my. So funny. I didn't realize until I moved to L.A. I didn't realize that that was a real type of person. For sure. You don't realize how funny that show is until you live in California. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:29:10 And then you're like, oh, fuck, this show's amazing. I saw her the other day. Yeah, yeah. I've talked to that lady. Yeah. Yeah. She was at Connie and Ted's wasted at noon. Yeah, absolutely.
Starting point is 01:29:20 Talking crazy. Talking absolutely berserk. Like, West of La Brea, you start to all the way to the ocean, More and more and more Oh dog I'm on the west side I see the blues all the time Yeah that's right yeah I see the blues all the time
Starting point is 01:29:34 Yeah Just rich wearing a fucking like DK N white They're probably nicer than that Like yeah I can't even think of the brands Like just like too hot To be that old
Starting point is 01:29:44 Yes too hot to be that old Like held together Or too old to be that hot I don't even know Whatever it is And just kind of lost out there Yeah Kind of with a big hat
Starting point is 01:29:52 Just kind of like Yeah What's going on Not all rich people Are success stories Yeah they don't have like general of actual direction.
Starting point is 01:30:00 No. Like, what's north? Nothing stopping you from taking pills and martinis all day. Yeah. There's nothing in your life where you're like, if I fuck this up, no, you're safe. I'm just going to drink,
Starting point is 01:30:10 drink pills. Drink pills. Yes, drink pills. I'll keep doing that until I wake up tomorrow. If I messed up, I'll do it again. Yeah. A big deal. Jessica Walter also.
Starting point is 01:30:20 Hey, legit. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Beautiful. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Lucille Bluth, just like incredibly funny. Yeah, so funny.
Starting point is 01:30:29 Some of the most quote, like one of the most quotable characters of all time. David, Trump, for your third pick. I'm going fresh off the boat, Jessica Wang. Oh. She was just a good sitcom mom. She was a hard ass. I think the episode where they bought a car I really loved and she was like, I want to talk to the manager. And then he's like, they take her to the manager.
Starting point is 01:30:49 And then he's like, take me to the final manager. And it's like her and Shaq facing off. Oh, really? Shaq gives her like $4,000 off. She's just like a hard ass. That's Constance Wu, right? Yeah, Constance Wu. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:31:02 Just a great, just a great TV, mom. Fresh off the boat. You never seen it. I never did either. I liked it. Well, you guys don't like Asian people. No, no, no, no, no. Again, what do you say?
Starting point is 01:31:13 They don't support Asian people. We like West Asia. I can't even fresh out of the book. He got the kid right now. He got a dinner last night. Yeah. I'm a black belt. You bought a dinner last night?
Starting point is 01:31:24 Yeah, I'm a black felt. Yeah. Your case is the word. the weakest. I have a certificate at the kooky one. Yeah, you appropriated our culture. That's right. I borrowed it.
Starting point is 01:31:37 I learned it. I became a master at it. He inappropriated your culture. Inappropriated. I did used to go naked a lot. Inabriated? Inabriated your culture. For sure, we've all inebriated your culture.
Starting point is 01:31:50 Well, you brought us back some soju. I did bring you back some soji from Korea. You were bringing him to stuff. It's gone. You got back soo. All this. What the fuck was Carmel? Whoa, you didn't get him.
Starting point is 01:32:01 You did get us, Soju and not Ian. Did I not get you anything? No. I feel like I got you something. No, Carmel was, I was, I mean, I didn't get, he just brought a bottle to David's. And you probably got together when you were recording. Two bottles.
Starting point is 01:32:13 Without me, he bought two bottles. Meanwhile, I was, I was. Then we came and saw you that night at work. That was that night? We did see you on the so. And then it was like my liquor. I drank some of it. We drank a lot of me.
Starting point is 01:32:27 Sitting on the counter in your green room. We drink a lot of it. Did it not give you a sunscreen or something? No, you didn't. And you know who didn't visit Carmel at work? Well, Isaac Cayley. Guys, this is complicated. Who had been with you guys earlier that day.
Starting point is 01:32:40 I was with, yeah. But then he went to work, I think. I had to, like, actually produced. He chopped up the show. Now I'm wearing, now here I sit wearing a South Korea jersey, feeling a fool. Hey, did they let you have all those jerseys? Yeah. Well, they let me have a bunch and then I let Jamel have some.
Starting point is 01:32:53 I did. I caught a little bit of that runoff. Yeah. That's pretty cool. Yeah. What am I going to do? I had to get to put my, put my bid in.
Starting point is 01:32:59 Man, I still have more than any man should. I hope you start covering tennis tournaments. That would be sick. Guys, this is a con- I got to talk to y'all after the show anyway. Get a house for the B&P next year? Yes. Yeah, the answer is yes.
Starting point is 01:33:13 Let's do it. Let's do it. Let's do it. I'm very. I'm with Tiscani and we missed you in Rob. Oh, right, because we were like days like a guy on the other day. You know, I saw Tiafo warm up though. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:33:23 Yeah. Sick. And then you actually. Let's do it again. You know, I've been deep with Fox Sports now. Let's see what kind of how we can work that. They don't show any tennis is the problem. They should.
Starting point is 01:33:34 Yeah. I'll wear this jersey to the tennis. Talk to your man. Everything goes around. I'll talk to the robot for us. We back Cleetus. See what Cleetus says. I'll talk to Dr. Simmy.
Starting point is 01:33:44 I'll talk to Dr. Sebi. Jamal? Oh, before your next pick of a break. This episode of All Fantasy, everything is brought to you by Babel. Now, there's no secret. We think everybody should know multiple language. A lot of people do. There's tons of people out there that already do. But if you don't, you know, if you're sitting on one, why not want to learn another language? Especially if you're
Starting point is 01:34:07 traveling at any point, if you're going to be bouncing around the world, why not learn how to communicate with actual phrases that are going to get you there, not just things like, you know, where's the bathroom, but stuff where you can find like a nice restaurant, all that stuff. A real quick way to do it, hop on babble. Start learning a new language instantly. They have little 10-minute lessons. You can just do 10 minutes a day. I'm going to have you start having real conversations in as little as three weeks. If you really put your nose to the grindstone, you can do that quicker than I prepared for midterms in high school. It's not about memorizing random bocab and all that stuff.
Starting point is 01:34:40 You're going to actually learn phrases where you can, you know, order dinner, ask for directions, where you're trying to go. You can talk with the locals, have actual personal conversations. And it's built for real life. They've looked at it and designed and tried to figure out how people learn best. And there's all kinds of ways you can do it. You can speak and hear yourself back. You can have somebody speak for you. You can have like pseudo conversations almost, just on the phone while you're learning it. And it's built by more than 200 language experts.
Starting point is 01:35:08 That's a grip, all right. If you speak in my terms, 200 is a grip. And unlike cramming before a trip, Apple's going to fit into your schedule, right? I'm saying a little 10 minute coffee break, a little commute, a few minutes before bed, whatever you got to do, hop on and see what time it is. They've sold over 25 million subscriptions, obviously doing something right. But if you don't like it, it's backed by a 14-day money-back guarantee. If you've got summer travel coming up, now is the time to start.
Starting point is 01:35:33 So you can actually use what you learn on the trip. Right now, Babel is offering listeners up to 60% off. Go to babel.com slash all fantasy. That's Babel, B-A-B-B-B-B-B-E-L-com slash all fantasy for up to 60% off. Rules and restrictions may apply. And now we're back. We've dropped for something like 10, man. Okay, okay.
Starting point is 01:35:53 Listen, my next pick, Sophia Petrio, Golden Girls. Oh. The mom of the moms, the oldest lady. The oldest. But not the oldest on the cast. But not the oldest on the cast. Just the shortest.
Starting point is 01:36:05 Mm-hmm. She had the greatest lines. Ooh, she was, she was like horny, too. Yeah. She was fun. Third stage mom. Yeah. Your kids have had kids.
Starting point is 01:36:14 Yeah, exactly. And it also takes me back to some fam. It definitely reminded me of my aunt Minnie. I had a great Aunt Minnie. Okay. Who was very much just like, yes, just the oldest lady talking shit. was probably horny, definitely drunk. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:36:31 A great... Had a gun. I kind of like you had a gun. People are horny and drunk. Yeah. A great Jew playing in Italian. Another great example of it is. Which now I know, very close.
Starting point is 01:36:41 Oh, yeah. He always sees her back right around the table. Oh, yeah. They next door every time. I had my suspicions. A massive, just a massive cultural exchange. Yeah, I didn't really ever put that together until we did Italian Americans. And now...
Starting point is 01:36:53 Is that right? You never put that together. Me either. I didn't. Yeah, I didn't know that. My only was my only like inclination was in like casino where he's like calling him a Jew the whole time. But then in every other movie he's playing an Italian. I'm like they're Bobby Dean.
Starting point is 01:37:10 So it must be similar. But yeah, that was that was up until then. Definitely from the same neighborhoods in America. Yeah, there we go. Yeah. There we go. Yeah. Sophia Petrio.
Starting point is 01:37:21 Sean Jordan, your third pick. I'm going to go Kitty Foreman. Oh, yeah. I like a kitty for me. Hey. Hey. Yes. She was fantastic.
Starting point is 01:37:32 I watched a lot of kitty foreman. I watched a lot of that 70s show. I don't know. Me too. I really liked the show, but it was just on. You know, at the right time. It was on a lot.
Starting point is 01:37:40 It was just on all the time. It was just. My bet. No, go ahead. Fox. A lot of moms. A lot of these moms are these draft boys. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:37:48 A lot of Fox. But we're Fox aged. Yeah. Fox is really focused on the eyes. We're really popping. Married a child. Fox is a fox, too. We're like the golden age of Fox.
Starting point is 01:37:57 King of the Hill was Box, right? Yeah. They're all fox. Yeah. I guess I never put that together. Hell of Fox. A lot of you are Fox Sunday night. Kitty and Red were, they was getting, they was getting busy.
Starting point is 01:38:10 I think they were getting to it. Love their dynamic. Kitty, somebody else tried Kitty one time. They went to a swinger party accidentally one time. Mm-hmm. She was working too? When Red found out it was a swinger party. Kurtwood Smith.
Starting point is 01:38:22 That dude got a five head, maybe a six head. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, Kurtwood Smith is red form. A lot of real estate on that thing. All of his facial features are like, squeezed in this region. He almost looks like a baby. Squeeze down.
Starting point is 01:38:34 Yeah, yeah. The guy that made the guy in a Robocop. That was him. And Narly and Dead Poet Society, too. He was, was, was he ever soft in anything? Just that 70s joke where he was hard, but he was. Occasionally he would show you a soft moment.
Starting point is 01:38:48 Yeah, but he was always going to put his foot in your ass. Yeah. But in a goofy way. And everything else, he was scary. Yeah. Yeah. Kurt Woods. Fucking Kurt Wood Smith is your name?
Starting point is 01:38:58 That's a wild man. Time to kill. His name was Stump. Time to kill. In the era of that 70 show and us all being like grade school age and talking about just like who's the hottest person on the show, I definitely got to the point where I convinced myself it was Kitty Foreman. Yeah. Like I went around the whole cast. Actually it's Kitty, bro.
Starting point is 01:39:19 No one else would talk to you. She's the only one with a fucking job. The rest of these fucking slackers. Yeah. I like that's what sealed it for you. Hell yeah. I'm like 14. She was dressed like a nurse all the time.
Starting point is 01:39:30 Getting our money, bro. Yeah. Or no, Laura prepon. Donna, Pinsietti. Pinsiotti. Pinsiotti. Pizziotti. And then fourth, it's my fourth.
Starting point is 01:39:39 Yep. Harriet wins low. Oh, got her. Oh, Harriet. Great call. Great call. Harriet. That's why you winzell.
Starting point is 01:39:46 No nonsense, but also pretty smooth about it. Harriet was smooth, man. Amazing voice. Yes. Amazing voice. Putting up with a lot, putting up with Eddie all day. And again, like her and Carl had that. Eddie's bringing Waldo's dumb ass over.
Starting point is 01:40:01 All the fucking time. Waldo, Faldo's in my house again? I miss those characters. The friend that was always around. Boner. And Waldo. She was the one from Perfect Strangers, too, right? Was she the crossover?
Starting point is 01:40:13 I thought Carl was the conno. I think she's the crossover. Yeah, I think you're right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Fucking right. She is. She's the connective tissue. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:40:23 She sounds like how Aretha Franklin talks. Yeah. Yeah. She was, Harriet was great. Yeah. No nonsense, but fun. A little fun. And I do like her and Carl will never like beefing.
Starting point is 01:40:34 You know, it was always, we're like, well, that's a solid relationship. Yeah. You know, that everything else, whatever, but that's like solid. The foundation is there. Too bad your fourth pick. Fourth pick. Give me Laverne Hunter. Oh.
Starting point is 01:40:46 Living single. Yep. Not Queen Latifah's mom. This is Regine's mom. Older Regine. Yes. Yes. Her mom is just like this like really just like goofy, older black lady who was dressing like crazy like she had all she always had gear with like attachments.
Starting point is 01:41:08 Let me see. Is that her? Let me see the picture they pulled up. Is that with the, yeah, dressed like the mask? Yeah, yeah. Regine and Queen Latifah were cousins? No. They're just best friends who grew up in New Jersey together.
Starting point is 01:41:21 Okay. And then Sinclair was Queen Latina's cousin from Minnesota. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And they all, so regime and Queen Lativa moved from Jersey together. Right, right, right, right. And then they bring in Sinclair to pay for the Brown store. To add, they need a new roommate. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:41:37 So they bring her in from Minnesota. I mean, honestly, it's just like in a 90s kind of world, I was glad they got their girls. They was totally their girls. Keep their head up, right? Yep, you got to have a crew. You got to fight. You have a crew. My home girl's standing to my left.
Starting point is 01:41:50 Am I right? True blue. It's tight like glue. And so Laverne dressed like my grandma. My grandma's style is exactly like Leverne Hunters. Just like denim hats with like stuff on them. Man, that was a time. That was a time.
Starting point is 01:42:08 Sweeter with stuff on it. Yep. Pants got stuff on it. Stuff like topography on your sweater. Like added. Yeah. Like there's other layers. Nobody's stanzas and denim up top anymore.
Starting point is 01:42:18 What jersey? What hockey jersey is Queen Latifah wearing here? Is that a mighty ducks jersey? I'm pretty sure that's Norfolk State. That is like Norfolk State. Spartans. That is North of the- fucking knew you would know.
Starting point is 01:42:27 That is North of a state. That is one skill, my friend. It's in the era of black colleges and their merch. It is a Norfolk state. Yeah. Wild. That's why I got the George Mason jersey. It's the same color palette.
Starting point is 01:42:40 Here she is in a fat farm poll. That's an original fat-farm piece. That is an original fat farm piece. Fat farm was only prototype. You know who else was had some shit early? Martin had that shit early. Yeah. Martin had a pelly-pelly with a, with a, with a, with a, with a, with a, with a, with a,
Starting point is 01:42:58 like a draw street, like a, no, like a leather, like a leather, like a leather, like a leather, you tied it off. Yes. Leathered, tying leather together. Tying a pelly-pele-a. Somebody called Chicago. Listen, Levern had some sick catchphrases as well. Girl, we go put some beans in that oven.
Starting point is 01:43:18 My favorite. I never wash a living single. Regine really needed to love her mom. Right. She's like, Regine was a character who needed this. The thing you just said
Starting point is 01:43:28 the group chat is the funniest thing I've ever gone to. You're on it. Oh, who is it? Yeah, it's Queenletifa. I wanted some of that gear so bad. It was that brand. I would have wore any of that.
Starting point is 01:43:38 African American College Alliance, which still exists. It still exists. I should get a grambling sweatsuit today. They got some stuff. The Rambling man from Grambling? And their tax, it's, it is still full priced. I'll tell you that.
Starting point is 01:43:49 It's, yeah But they got that shit, man Your fourth pick Oh, I'm gonna get it I'm gonna take a really successful mom I'm taking Selena Meyer from Vee Oh, I hit her on my list
Starting point is 01:44:02 Yeah Just like one of the funniest pound for pound Top Mile Character on television ever Her kid's character was so funny Her kid's character was hilarious Yeah I think she navigated being a mom well
Starting point is 01:44:15 I don't know I really love Selena Meyer man Yeah Veep is one of those shows whenever I dip back into it I watch the whole thing I'll be like let me just watch an episode of Vip and then two weeks go by
Starting point is 01:44:27 I've gone through a full yeah Vee I never did it I gotta do it you know that should be the next show that should be the next one you never watch VEP either I kind of didn't watch VEP either bro it's so good I want to I've always I never I know you're right I just missed it I like I didn't
Starting point is 01:44:43 actively not watch I just missed it you know what I didn't like how mean they was to each other they are mean They would be so mean to each other. They're all terrible. Tony Hale. Tony Hale has to like set it straight a few times where he's like, hey, I'm a person. You've got to stop.
Starting point is 01:44:59 But yeah, I just would catch him being mad mean and I'm like, this actually making me feel bad, dog. I get that, but it's a funny show, man. All right. She becomes the president. Fourth and final picks. With my first one or fourth one, I'm picking a stealthiest stanza. God damn it. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:45:15 George. Yeah, what a mom. Not great. but just amazing. Yeah. Fucking amazing. 100% crap. Played by Estelle Harris.
Starting point is 01:45:28 Another Jew playing an Italian? Costanza? No, it's crazy. I weirdly... This is problematic. I've thought about this a lot. I was just going to say... I thought about this a lot.
Starting point is 01:45:41 His last name's Costanza. That's an Italian last name. I sure. It always thought George was Jewish. He's supposed to... Jerry Steelers, his dad. Right. And that's, and it's Stella Costanza's his mother?
Starting point is 01:45:54 He never talks about, I, George. Yeah. And it's Larry David. And it's Larry David. The Jewish man. It's funny that they gave him an Italian last name. Yeah. He's not Italian.
Starting point is 01:46:06 He doesn't behave Italian. He behaves Jewish. And this is where I get off of Brexit. I'm not driving around this name. The internet says his dad is from Sicily, his mother is Jewish. Okay, great. Okay, so he's Jewish.
Starting point is 01:46:21 So Estelle is Jewish. So they remixed it. They flipped it. I can see Frank Costanza being Italian, a little bit, I guess. Industrialist people. Another thing we have in common.
Starting point is 01:46:38 Newbie and metal. You can't fucking pick, Sean. That ain't me. Drew a pick, Sean. And with my last pick, I am going to take, this is sort of a deeper, I'm taking Jack's mom, Jack Donahey's mom from 30 Rock. I don't even remember what that character.
Starting point is 01:46:53 I don't really do. Oh, yes I do. She was a killer. Horrible woman. She was a killer. Horrible. That's right. That's right. Played by Broadway legend Elaine Stritch. Yes. Ladies do lunch.
Starting point is 01:47:04 Yes. Just like Colleen Donahey is her name. Just a fucking monster who was always ruining his life, but like such a funny, funny character. And so funny for someone to like completely outstatist Jack Donahey. which always made gave his character Yeah He was still trying to prove something
Starting point is 01:47:20 Even though he was who we were. Yeah So many of these moms are also Characters in Old Law and Order She was like a sick Recurring character Oh yeah yeah yeah yeah Yeah she was tight
Starting point is 01:47:30 She was like the like One of the first like Like a recurring defense attorneys Yeah Like she like that And I forgot their name But the ADA would be like Oh my God
Starting point is 01:47:43 They got her Have you And he'd be all scared Have you seen every episode of Law and Order? Absolutely. Wow. You and Sean seeing all of Gray's Anatomy are maybe the two most impressive television themes.
Starting point is 01:47:55 Me and Sean are the most similar in this group. I think so. We got way more cross over to me. Yeah, 100%. I think so for sure. Her name is Lainey Stiglitz. Hugo Stiglitz. Hugo Stiglitz.
Starting point is 01:48:11 Colleen Donage. David, your final pick. Let me finish off with she was a stepmom I'm taking D from Moisha Oh hey the stepmom who stepped up yeah Jamaican
Starting point is 01:48:27 She was She really Ralph but Oh Miles was her kid right Miles look at me maybe I'm not sure I don't think so but maybe And then Frank had another kid
Starting point is 01:48:39 Frank had Dorian Yo Frank was Ray J Who had showed up and D stepped in for that boy too It was also cool, like, cool. Yeah. Yeah, Jamaican as hell. I liked D a lot.
Starting point is 01:48:50 Yeah, D was tight. Yeah. Who's Jamaican? What would he sound like? I don't know. Isaac put in a clip of a real Jamaican person. Somebody who, like, grew up there and, you know. Usually if you drank a lot of Mount Chester.
Starting point is 01:49:04 Jamel, your final pick. Give me Trudy Proud. Ooh. The proud family. Fine. Super fine. Fine. Basically, if Gina from Martin was a cartoon.
Starting point is 01:49:13 Yeah, 100%. And had kids. Oh, yeah. 100%. I love a great song. Yeah. You and I will always be tied. Family every single day and night.
Starting point is 01:49:24 Come on, even when you're dying like a fool. You don't know that I love as much as you. Played by Paula. I didn't realize it was Paula Jai Parker, but I guess I knew her voice. Yeah. I mean, come on, man.
Starting point is 01:49:34 Craig's, Craig's girlfriend in Friday. What else is she been in? Uh, Idlewild? Uh, Ida Wild. She was an Idol Wild? Ida Wild. Woo.
Starting point is 01:49:42 Woo. You know what's funny about the Proud family. did you know the Gross sisters were that color because they were ashy? I thought they was crimps. Get out of here. I thought they was from the, yeah, I thought they were from the 60s. I thought they was from the 60s. I thought it was Dinglewood.
Starting point is 01:50:06 That's why I thought. I would have, too. Boy, I thought they were for sure. They really got beaten. Yeah. Man, that really got me. Because it's such an element. show. Right. It's so
Starting point is 01:50:22 L.A. The girl's name is L. Sienega Boulevardaz. Yeah. Really? Yeah. Yeah. It's such a L.A. show. It's so L.A. Yeah. That's great. Sean, your final pick? I want to pick
Starting point is 01:50:35 Cartman's mom. Her name is Leanne, I guess. But I just like how she was getting late all the time. Dirty. Dirty. We are. We are representing all of the different kinds of moms. We really are. She put up with a lot and she was getting hers all the time. She was all only fans first.
Starting point is 01:50:51 Leanne. She had the first only fans. She had the block going crazy. Wasn't she banging chef all the time? Yeah, she was smacking the chef. And everybody. She was like a prostitute. Yeah, like everybody.
Starting point is 01:51:03 It was just awesome. But she was spacking. I feel like she was letting the chef get a couple free ones. Yeah. Oh, yeah, I don't think so. Yeah. Chef was just catching her at the bar. This one's on the house.
Starting point is 01:51:12 I've been listening to a ton of Isaac Hayes lately. Where? Why is that funny already? That's awesome. You know, that's so cool. That's so cool. A lot of it. He fucking had it.
Starting point is 01:51:30 No one's saying he didn't. He had it. No, he had it, brother. He had it more than you think. I think he had a lot of it. Hot butter sold that entire album. I thought he had a lot of it. He had even more than we think.
Starting point is 01:51:40 He had most of it. Didn't he hate South Park? Didn't he end up really not liking it? Well, because he went, he's like, Scientology type. Yeah. I forget exactly what happened, but they killed him off. Yeah. They did pretty dirty.
Starting point is 01:51:50 He took himself out of there. But I forget. No, he left and they killed him off. Oh, okay. Why did he leave, though? What was the conflict? I can't remember. People kept talking about salty balls to him.
Starting point is 01:51:59 Probably. Enough of it. Exactly that. You know what I did love about chef? He called all those kids' children. Yeah. Children? Like even singularly, he'd be like, what are you doing, children?
Starting point is 01:52:09 Yeah. Call one of them. Which is, which is real. Pretty bad. He's just, if you haven't, do yourself a favor and listen to fucking all of hot buttered soul by Isaac Hayes. Now I know, walk on by. It starts with walk on by.
Starting point is 01:52:25 I'd be like you got to listen to that with your shirt off. That's real. I did it two days ago. I love that. When we got home at one. For everybody here, who you smacking first? Carmen's mom or Peggy Hill. They're both built the same.
Starting point is 01:52:39 Now I know that the South Park thing is an art style. Who is you? Who are you cracking first? Carmen's mom, who's about it? Carman's mom. As sex professional. Yeah, Carvin's mom. Peggy Hill.
Starting point is 01:52:51 I don't want to mess with what Peggy's got attractive. I don't want to mess with what Peggy's got going on. Suppose I'm not breaking up a family if I get with Carvin's mom. Yeah, there's no dad. There's no dad. There's no dad. It makes it last messy. But then you get roped up in the South Park drama.
Starting point is 01:53:07 The motherfucker might try to hit you with a rocket or you're going to have to fight a fucking the mecca of Barbara Streisand. There's somebody going to come for you. I live in Denver. Oh, yeah. You don't want to do that. You can go down to Arlen anytime you want. He is ready.
Starting point is 01:53:22 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Isaac, you have a pick. I'm going to take Joan Day, who is Jess's mom and New Girl. Oh, okay. She's played by Jamie Lee Curtis. Okay. She's a very fun character. She gets high on mushrooms.
Starting point is 01:53:34 And this is at the beginning of Jamie Lee Curtis, hot mature era. Yeah, yeah, hot milf era. Pre-y yogurt. Mm-hmm. She's a Portland mom. She lives in Portland, Oregon. Fuck yeah.
