Starting point is 00:00:03 Time to get into a little bit of Grammy talk because of course like the goat once said The Grammys is not what validates your status with your fans. It's the tour dates that they come out to. It's the support via streams Support via retweets, likes sharing your posts the engagement that you get from your fans is way more important than a Grammy so that being said let's get into some of the key changes for 2025 Grammy Awards which obviously has a lot of submission guidelines and criteria criteria updates and things of that nature as artists with less than 50% of playtime will receive a winner's certification a winner's certificate for all genre album categories excluding musical theater general fear of field
Starting point is 00:01:03 or craft so as far as songwriter of the year and non-classical minimum song credits reduced from five to four songwriters can now enter up to five songs up from four category specific announcements are best traditional R&B performances updated to distinguish traditional R&B slash soul from contemporary genres then you have Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album expanded to include more entries from musical theater albums must be 75%
Starting point is 00:01:41 newly recorded and unreleased. Best Children's Music album Music include lyrics and English translations age range extended to infants to 12 years old.
Starting point is 00:01:57 And then getting to the broader award category adjustments the best remix recording moves to the pop and dance slash electronic field the best pop dance recording has been renamed to best dance dance pop recording best dance slash electronic music album has been renamed to best dance slash electronic album and must be 50% dance or electronics conjuto music i think that's how you said um and once again it's not long list i'm almost done Conjuto music now recognized under Best Regional Roots music album, Best Score Soundtrack for Video Games and other, oh, okay, video games. I got a little excited. Best Score soundtrack for video games and other interactive media, 50% of the soundtrack must come from new programming or downloadable content released during the eligible year.
Starting point is 00:03:00 eligibility period changes for 2024 which is the main reason I'm even doing this segment because it's the biggest news as far as the changes but with that said the 66 which is the next Grammy Awards eligibility period extended to September 15th after member feedback so historical change because it's a regular eligibility period for this year because of the recent years ranging from up to 11 to 13th, 13 months. So now it's extended to September 15th. So the changes are overall the eligibility period for the Grammy Awards is October 1st. to September of that next year. So October 1st of this year to September. So basically October of the current year to September of the next year. That is the period now for the Grammy Awards. So basically as far as this year, it would have started last,
Starting point is 00:04:31 As far as this upcoming award show, the eligibility would have started last October and it won't be up until this year's September. Hopefully that makes sense. So anyway, general information amendment process, changes are based on proposals from the music community and reviewed annually by the awards and nominations committee. And then key dates is already went over to eligibility. media registration is July 10th to August 24th and online entry process is July 17th to August 31st. So that being said, obviously overall, the updates is aiming to enhance the inclusivity and integrity of the Grammy Awards, reflecting the evolving landscape of the music industry. that is my that is my overall coverage of their grammy eligibility changes as far as across different
Starting point is 00:05:36 genres and categories and things that nature so like i said at the beginning people who are supporters who engage with your content i think is more important than a grammy a grammy usually just makes people who are not in tune be more interested but as far as your core fan base increasing that and focusing on them and if you increase it twofold every single year that in all intensive purposes i believe is more important so with that being said click my link in my bio let me know one of my social media is what do you think about the grammy eligibility changes and also what eligibility change stood out the most to you
