Starting point is 00:00:04 Now when you get into Asper, which is definitely the name I'm going with because actually I didn't look up the pronunciation. So hopefully I didn't butcher that too much. Actually, let's just see what the actual pronunciation is. Give me one second. So I let Jarvis read it out to me. Ispa. Ah, it's Ispa. Okay.
Starting point is 00:00:21 So it's not just, I guess, the A is silent. Like lasagna? No, that's not. That's not how it goes. Anyways, I'm keeping that in there, by the way. Anyways, ESPA, right? The reason why I'm getting into this artist is because I have spoken. heard before i believe because in k-pop in general i've covered a lot of k-pop musicians to the point
Starting point is 00:00:39 where i even got a shout out from one of their main uh fan bases from john cook i believe it was because when he was going crazy i think it was back in uh 2013 uh i think it was 2013 not not 2013 i'm tripping uh 2023 when everybody in the mama was trying to get a track with junk right kid levoray jack harlowe um who else somebody else was it lotto i I think it was a lotto. Yeah, yeah, it was Lotto. Junk Cook was having an unprecedented run in the music industry back in in 2023.
Starting point is 00:01:11 So I was just talking about how he was like one of the hottest artists around that time and their fan base really took it upon themselves to not only shout me out on Twitter, but also just give me so many comments as far as like talking about I, like I spilled. You know, I guess I learned a new terminology from like, I guess that's the, he cooking version over in career. So with that being said, a lot of music that I cover from the K-pop is more genuine than anything because I always covered the music landscape because if you don't know, when it comes to sales, I mean, if you impact the masses enough, other people will start to notice and start to replicate what you're doing. And then whenever you get your flowers, hopefully,
Starting point is 00:01:56 as far as being the original, you start to have numbers like this. As ESPA has a track titled up that is currently set to be the 36 most play track in the world with over 100,000 units moved. And this is from the album parallel line, which is a digital single album. I don't know what that means. Actually, let me look at her discography. So the album, Whiplash, is the latest from her. And this released October 21st, 2024. But of course, when it comes to singles, there's the parallel line.
Starting point is 00:02:36 I got to sound it out, right? The special digital single, which basically has up, dopamine, board, and spark. And that came out October 9th, 2024. Now, this is SM Entertainment. I've spoken on them before being very pivotal in the marketing machine behind K-pop music. But one of the things I want to get into was, of course, just the overall streaming numbers for Eastwood. As with the Singapore charts, it peaked at number 11 as far as the top streaming and the top number four as far as the top regional charts. And then Hong Kong, it was number nine on the charts, on those charts specifically.
Starting point is 00:03:16 Taiwan, it was number three on the Taiwan songs chart. And then New Zealand, it debuted at number 17 on the Hot 40 singles chart. And then I think it's Malaysia. I think Malaysia, Malaysia. I'll hold up with me. I got to go to Jarvis again. give me a second Malaysia Malaysia all right so I definitely messed it up so Malaysia in Malaysia she debuted at number 12 on their specific songs chart so when it comes to the reception
Starting point is 00:03:43 of the track when it comes to the overall support of the track you come to realize that K-pop is here to stay I don't know what it is but every single musician as far as new genes Black Pink BTS I forget some other people but obviously just a bunch. I mean, you have ESPA. I think the last one I covered as far as from the K-pop region was me talking about how the idol, which is the HBO show starring the weekend,
Starting point is 00:04:14 ended up winning an Emmy for Best Chorography. And that was simply for the fact that, let me see if I could find it. Black Pink. Yeah, Jenny. Specifically because Jenny from BlackPaint had a great scene. in the idol as far as literal
Starting point is 00:04:32 music choreography just put in a TV show like you think they was acting but when you come to realize Jenny's actual singer and the soundtrack to the overall idol show is one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard for a TV show I mean there's a reason why they want a Emmy specifically for best choreography because that was essentially one of the pivotal standouts of the show is definitely the musical aspects because it definitely wasn't the plot let me tell you that you know But hey, everything was great from the camera angles to the actual choreography. But that plot line, man, the weekend was tripping with that one.
Starting point is 00:05:09 So anyway, again, back to Ispa. You know, congratulations to her, just having such an amazing career in general with her impact on the music landscape. Because I did already report it on Ispa before with Supernova, in parentheses, Armageddon, because with that specific track, I mean, that was also. Also, one of the more pivotal tracks that she would have as it was basically something that beat out new jeans, how sweet as far as the victory and their chart-topping success, right? They was going back and forth with New Gene, not in a bad way, just statistically, of course, on the music charts. And with New Jeans track How Sweet, it was just interesting how East was souping over. came out to win on a top to top the charts in that specific region so she's definitely ground-breaking when it comes to the k-pop region and overall k-pop is here to stay i love how they put so much
Starting point is 00:06:13 emphasis on performing and the way that they take their performances seriously which is going back to why jenny won uh the idol hb-o tv show in emmy for best choreography because i think there's a different level of seriousness put on choreography with k-pop musicians that should be present for every genre hey that's just me right so anyways click my link tree in my bio let me know on one of my social medias what do you think about ispa's latest track up and when it comes to her music what is your favorite track from eastp
