Starting point is 00:00:00 Like, people think, oh, man, he's just sitting sitting on raps or like he's just holding or holding these rap's hostage. Like, I ain't got no raps like that. Like, it's, it actually feels sometimes it feels inauthentic for me to rap because I don't have anything to talk about in that way. Like, I'm 48 years old and not to say that age is a thing that dictates what you rap about, but in a way it does. And like, things that happen in my life, like, what do you talk? to go get a colonoscopy like what do you like what do you rap about you know what i mean like my eyesight respectfully somebody told andrew three thousand to cut it out ain't nobody trying to hear all that there's always life experiences you can rap about and for the great andre three thousand one of
Starting point is 00:00:51 the best rappers to ever grace of mike to literally say he's basically too old to rap It's insane. That's blasphemy to quote my man, Stephen A. Smith. So with that being said, let's get into him actually releasing music, but with no raps. So last time this man ever even put out music with him rapping on it, as far as a full-length EP, or not EP, but full-length LP, was 17 years ago with Outcast's greatest hip-hop group of all time. So I have immense praise for Andre 3000 and Big Boy, of course, everybody leaves our Big Boy when it comes to Outcast. I don't know why. But I got to respectfully tell this man to cut it out.
Starting point is 00:01:43 Nobody is trying to hear an album entirely centered around Woodwinds, which is essentially what this album is about. It's him playing the flute and putting it out in a full body of work. And apparently it's like 90 minutes or something. something like that. It's a very long album. Only like five tracks. I think he's like basically, well, you do the math on that, you know, he's basically just out here giving whole performances with the flute that nobody asked for. Now, could it be fire? Yes. I've heard that Andre 3000 has been playing the flute or whatever and he's been like experimenting with his sound within the flute and just learning more about it. But I would tell you that if there was an Andre 3000 album,
Starting point is 00:02:29 and people was going to listen to it, it would probably not be for Woodwinds. It would probably be to hear him rap from the perspective of a 48 years old, a year old. Like, being 48 years old, you should be able to speak on things in the past
Starting point is 00:02:47 in a more cohesive and concise manner. So when Audrey 3000 literally comes out and says that, what am I going to rap about at 48 years old? I just feel like it's very much a day. service to older rappers and older musicians who are in the game. Because to give an example, a lot of different musicians have had a humongous run throughout the whole lifespan and are still giving us bars that we can gravitate towards to this day.
Starting point is 00:03:21 Jay-Z is finding things to rap about. Little Wayne, even though he's not 48, he's still finding things to rap about. And I'm just talking about people who have voluminous careers in a way that now you have so much life experience. How are you going to put that into raps and not talk about the same thing? So, of course, Jay-Z is probably the biggest example I could give, but then maybe that's why he's the greatest of all time, you know, when it comes to rapping. Drake, of course, has been in a game since, well, for a decade at this point, and he's still finding new things to rap about as far as his life experience. Like life never stops happening and I feel like you should always rap from the perspective of what's Bothering you and what's impacting your life on the everyday basis
Starting point is 00:04:10 So Andre 3000 is basically talking about how he's too old to rap Not gonna lie I'm not even old and that triggered me So I'm like all the older musicians out there is probably looking at Andre 3000 like Dain you're just gonna write all of us off simply because you say with too old to have stuff to talk about now it's kind of weird but anyways um to focus on the actual music there's production from of course and d'et thousand and moti instrumentalist instrumentalist i think i said that right instrumentalist yeah carlos nino and then there's other musicians on the album such as nate merse i can't say that sarah d antony parks de antony parks de
Starting point is 00:05:01 Gator Matthew David VCR Diego Gata Jesse Peterson and Mia Doey Todd I don't know man I don't know who those names are but hey if you know one of those names I just said hey kudos to you as far as his future plans Andre definitely told the truth and saying that they should not expect him to rap at any point in the in the near future and he has wrapped of course on other people's tracks like more recently and more notably the track with killer Mike scientists and engineers which is nominated for a Grammy so there you have it I mean Andre 3000 still has it when it comes to rap which definitely discredit his point about being old and still have nothing to rap about
Starting point is 00:05:50 but hey you know I guess everybody's a walking contradiction right of course woodwinds is going to be the entire content of the album it drops at midnight trying to see what else it's basically it this man's just going to play the flute and we're going to see how people gravitate towards because me as a person who works out i wouldn't mind hearing some flutes while i'm stretching or maybe i'm running like you know maybe he got some strong fire melodies and and i don't even like i don't even know how to critique woodwinds like how do you critique flutes like oh he's not blowing like this he's blowing like that like first off pause but then like on the other hand it's gonna be interesting because it's totally out of my lane that i cover
Starting point is 00:06:40 on everyday basis so to hear this album would be very intriguing for me and for that i'm not going to go on a whole soliloquy just wanted to point out my critiques for hundred three thousand while also stating that i am very excited to hear the album i'm actually going to listen to it so i said all that to say i will be listening to it simply because Ardick 3000, when you're in such a rarefied air of one of the greatest rappers ever, I'm a listen to whatever project you put out. So, and
Starting point is 00:07:07 not going to lie, I listen to scientists and engineers, and I don't get it. I don't get what people like it, but it's whatever, it's nominated for the Grammy. I don't I listen to Killer Mike's whole album, and I'm like, I must just still be a child or something, because I'm just not mature enough to think this is actual
Starting point is 00:07:25 like this is engaging at all. Like I just, I must be too childish to understand killer Mike's perspective. But anyways, with that being said, click my link to your in my bio. Let me know one of my social media is, what do you think about Andre 3000 said to release his first album ever centered around Woodwinds? So he's going to be given his first album simply playing the flute. after 17 years of hiatus as far as him putting out projects what do you think about it and do you think this project titled new blue sun that's coming out at midnight will be fire or trash
