Starting point is 00:00:04 Getting back into the most wonderful time of the year, but especially for the musicians who hold some of the greatest Christmas tracks of all time. So diving deeper into my coverage of some of the greatest Christmas tracks ever created, we're now getting into Andy Williams as far as his track is the most wonderful time of the year. Now, of course, you've probably heard this, especially throughout the month of December. as a lot of people are getting into the Christmas spirit. And the main thing that you need to know, especially about Andy Williams, is that he has an actual album out that is titled, It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year. And especially with that being released so long ago,
Starting point is 00:00:54 currently with it being the 11th most played album in the world, longevity will be an understatement as far as how these Christmas acts have came out and just dominated the charts time and time again as far as a specific period of the year. So as far as the specific track, it's the most wonderful time of the year. That's what I was referring to. That's the 11th most played track in the world. And then he does have an album charting in the top 26 as Andy Williams' Christmas album is the 26 most listened to track in the world. Now, if we're looking at the release dates, Obviously, we know that this is in the 1960s.
Starting point is 00:01:38 But more specifically, this track was released in 1963 on the Andy Williams Christmas album. So as far as Andy Williams, safe to say that his work has stood the test of time as far as even after his passing, right? So try to make sure I can spell Andy Williams, right? How many else can you put anyways? with that being said the Andy Williams album came out 1963 January 1st you know how confident you have to be in a project to put it out on New Year's Day I don't care if it's a Christmas
Starting point is 00:02:20 album I don't care if it's a whatever holiday type of theme putting it out on the same day that everybody is celebrating the new year is very bold as far as an artist so obviously he knew he had something in the works as putting this out January 1st, 1963, it's just completely telling people like, instead of celebrating New Year's, how about y'all get ready for my new album? And ultimately, they were ready for it, as is the 12-track album, 33 minutes in length, came out in 1963 and, of course, reached number five on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2020, because of course, back then, when it came to the Billboard Hot Hot 100 in 2020, because of course, back then, when it came to the Billboard word hot 100 we don't have all the data as far as specifically top five top 10 but what we do know
Starting point is 00:03:11 is the overall streams because if you really look at it in a totality standpoint r i double a certified this track 17 times gold three time platinum as far as the specific album and of course Andy Williams ended up becoming a household name through a lot of television shows and Christmas specials. So similar to when I was covering, who was I covering as far as, there was a specific artist that was covering that voice the character of Santa Claus in the reindeer animated TV, it wasn't like a TV show, it was like the, it was like Rudolph, it was like the movie for Rudolph, right?
Starting point is 00:03:59 And basically, the guy who made one of the more pivotal tracks put out, was a part of a movie where he was voicing Santa. I know I could definitely find it as far as going back to the podcast because, of course, I've been diving to a lot of different Christmas tracks. Oh, Burl Ives, that's what I was talking about. So Burl Ives, as far as his specific track, a holly, jolly Christmas. He was also the voice of Santa Claus as far as for the Rudolph movie. You know, the like very old but classic Rudolph movie that everybody watches.
Starting point is 00:04:34 he basically voiced Santa in that. So when it comes to the longevity, when it comes to impacting different media streams, media ventures as far as television, music, and things that nature, his sales, of course we've seen in hip-hop nowadays that this is more apparent. But back then, it was the same as when he unfortunately passed away,
Starting point is 00:04:59 his sales and streams ended up increasing by a ton. definitely showcasing how much people appreciated his music even after his passing. So of course, he's a cultural icon when it comes to the Christmas landscape. But when it comes to the multiple versions of this track, I'm not going to lie to you. As far as this track and the album, this album is under Sony BMG music entertainment. Now, not going to lie to y'all. If y'all look at the market share, of course UMG is always going to be at the top. and currently is no different as it has 66%.
Starting point is 00:05:34 But Sony does, well, Sony is second and they do have 20% of the market share currently. I would have to say most of that is to be attributed to Andy Williams. So shout out for him putting Sony on his back even after passing. Because that's one of the things about creating this type of art form is that if it's quality and if it's high quality, it'll end up lasting much longer than your human form on earth. So with that been said, of course, everybody's playing on Spotify on whatever DSPs they prefer. And overall, when it comes to the statistics, it's the most wonderful time of the year is currently the 11th most played track in the world, which is a very interesting yin-yang to
Starting point is 00:06:31 streaming because when you look at the charts the top 10 is filled with nothing but Christmas tracks and Kendrick's album I may talk about the duality of a human right so it's the most wonderful time of the year it's currently the 11th most play track in the world and then with his album which is titled the Christmas album it's the 26 most play album in the world so with that being said that's basically all I have for Andy Williams just wanted to cover another icon in the Christmas holiday theme song type of lane because he definitely gave us a pivotal and ultimate track as far as quality to let us know that if you make something that's high enough quality then it doesn't matter what time it is people are always going to gravitate towards
Starting point is 00:07:22 it so with that being said click my link sure in my bio let me know in one of my social medias what do you think about Andy Williams and this track is the most wonderful time of the year and let me know what is your favorite Christmas track of all time
