Starting point is 00:00:04 Staying in the K-pop genre, we're getting into yet another girl group that's under YG Entertainment. And as far as in general, YG Entertainment having all of these K-pop musicians, there's a reason for that. And I wanted to get into it because I don't think I've talked about it extensively as far as why YG has so many K-pop musicians. But basically, the sole reason for YG Entertainment having so many K-pop musicians and being so many K-pop musicians and being. being quote unquote the big three of music companies in South Korea. It's for the simple fact that it's known for a certain onboard, onboarding system, if that makes sense for people who, you know, out here, shout out to my nondifibers, right? So what that basically means is they run certain artists, prospect artists through a training system.
Starting point is 00:01:04 which basically allows them to pick who they would want to put marketing dollars behind as far as being a major machine for these artists. Because when you start off as an independent, YG Entertainment basically scouts a lot of talent, runs them through a certain system, which is why I refer to it as onboarding because they're trying to figure out if they fit into their system. And then after that, it's very interesting how these artists blow up because not only have they had significant accomplishments in the K-pop lane with an artist, probably the most popular group under that label as far as Black Pink having immense success, but also they just continually develop different talent under their brand. So when it comes to that, it brings me back to the point of Baby Monster, the girl group that we're getting into today releasing an entire body of work under YG Entertainment titled Drip. Now, this came out November 1st, 2024. Why am I speaking about it at, well, on the date of November 15th? But for the simple fact that it's projected as far as the actual track drip, you know, so after the title after the album. so it's very interesting how that ends up being the most popular track but the track drip is projected to be the 37th most played track in the world with about 98 000 first week uh 98 000 units sold with this singular track this is not even taken into account the rest of the album but when we do talk about the rest of the album because of course over here you know notorious mass effect we definitely get into the numbers that
Starting point is 00:02:52 is an ultimate universal limit scale for how these musicians affect the masses right so anyways over 130 000 copies were so surpassing the debut many albums first day performance basically what that means is the the drip album by baby monster is 27 minutes in length so of course it's not the longest listen and if you're a newer artist that could work in your favor as it's not overwhelming to the new listener right so with that being said and the success of drip projected to be the 37th most played track in the world it's very interesting how just k-pop in general put a lot of emphasis on choreography and i talk about that all the time but obviously as you can see right here analytic dreams video on spot to see the video along with the audio it's a lot of effort
Starting point is 00:03:45 there's a lot of effort that goes into these music videos as far as on the dance side and it reminds me of what old school R&B used to do time and time again with their music videos, which is why they probably drive these type of sales, because not only do you have the music video where they are basically performing the track, but in a way that showcases the amount of effort that went into it, because dancing, especially in a group, especially in the music video, takes longer than the runtime of the music video. I'm pretty sure I'm not breaking any news. anybody with that information but it's so interesting how most musicians not most but some musicians just take for granted the music video and do the cookie cutter copy and paste um format and that's why i like
Starting point is 00:04:35 how k-pop musicians really put effort into the overall choreography of the music videos um so with that being said of course when the album came out it debuted at 149 with around 9 000 units sold so so Not the most impressive stats when it comes to the major impact is in the music industry. But as far as an up-and-coming K-pop girl group being new and ultimately, as far as on the stream side, surpassing 5 million streams shortly after release, and then the track drip single-handedly had 1.2 million streams. You could probably assume that they're going to a cute. accumulate more and more streams and units sold as time goes on as they've only been putting out music for what two years so Going back to my choreography point the music video for click-clack has 24 million views
Starting point is 00:05:34 on YouTube since release and then the music video for drip has 14 million views within 40 24 hours of release. I don't know what is that now, but obviously with that track with that tracking It's a very high performing video on YouTube. So with that being said, the music video, the songs that they're putting out in the overall marketing strategy, as far as making their strengths into the high energy, basically showcasing the effort into the choreography. And then not only that, but then attaching that with actually solid tracks when it comes to catch you. choruses and then blending their diverse musical styles you could see how they they uh basically topped the chart we're not top but you know put up numbers on the charts and any type of top 100 top 200
Starting point is 00:06:33 placement is definitely a monumental achievement especially when a major label is looking at you to see if they even want to keep supporting your future releases so with uh baby monsters drip album they They definitely made their presence felt in the K-pop community with the projection showing that drip from the album drip. It's set to be the 37th most played track in the world and definitely showcases a promising potential with Baby Monster as far as a rising act in the K-pop community. So with that been said, click my link to your bio. Let me know on one of my social medias. What do you think about Baby Monster as far as the overall girl group? And if you haven't checked out Baby Monster yet, definitely check them out on all DSPs with their album Drip.
