Starting point is 00:00:04 Now, there can only be one goat in the music industry. And of course, that's the biggest gangster who is or who goes as Taylor Swift. Now, as far as the other slots and the totality, the ultimate Mount Rushmore of music, I would have to say Bad Bunny is on that list. Drake is also on that list. And then, you know, sometimes it fluctuates. But at this point in time, you would definitely have to put either. the weekend or Billy Elish up there, but those are my four currently as far as the biggest
Starting point is 00:00:39 mascots in music. I would have Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, The Weekend, and Drake. I just want to tell you something. As far as the most listened to artists in the world, objectively speaking, 20, well, as far as for the year of 2024, Bad Bunny was the third most listened to artists in the world. Why am I going over these statistics as far as an overview of who everybody listened to? Because I am straight up flabbergasted. I mean, just straight up bamboozled when I found out this man sold $90,000 with his latest album. Now, of course, to be fair, I don't know how to pronounce this album. So what I'm going to do is because I think this is the best way to do it because ultimately I'm trying to figure out why in the world did he sell this amount?
Starting point is 00:01:40 So Bad Bunny with the album, hold up if I can get some help from Siri right quick. Give me one second. Debbie T-R-A-R-Mars F-O-2-S. Y'all heard all that? All right, let's continue. So that album compared to the this album right here Nadi say
Starting point is 00:02:01 Blocuvre Pesa All right so those two albums right There's a discrepancy in the first week sales His last album So $183,000 First Week This current album that he just put out sold 90,000 Units first week
Starting point is 00:02:19 Why such a significant drop-off Is it the music industry as a whole Or Is Bad Bunny has bad bunny finally slipped as far as his dominance in the music industry
Starting point is 00:02:32 because I'm not going to lie to you I don't care when you put out your album if you're one of the most listened to artists in the world there's no scenario and not even hating but there's no scenario where
Starting point is 00:02:45 a rapper who's not even at the level to even compete with you should be outselling you this reminds me of if you remember this you have to go back to memory lane this reminds me of when gunna and the weekend went head to head and gunna actually beat out the weekend for first week sales when he put out ds forever back in 2022 because when the weekend put out his album
Starting point is 00:03:16 which one was his album when he put out don fm and the weekend and then gunna put out what he put out what he put out and it went head to head. So now you have Don FM going against DS forever and one of the most plot twists of the century, Gunna outsold the weekend and first week sales. I don't know how that happens because then, fast forward to 2024, Gunna's obviously doing great in his career,
Starting point is 00:03:45 but he is no weekend as weekend is literally the second most played musician as far as for the year of 2024. So the reason why I'm saying all this is to pinpoint and just highlight the fact that I don't know the reason for the significant drop-off from Bad Bunny's last album to this album, objectively speaking, from a consumption standpoint. But as far as quality, I cannot speak on it simply due to the fact that it's more reggae tone. Like obviously it does blend some traditional rhythms and modern sounds, but for the most part, it's reggae. get on i don't know too much to be able to give an accurate expert analysis of why somebody's not streaming it as much as his last album as far as solely off the first week right because i guess people could listen to this more in the future than they did his past album but it's not looking like
Starting point is 00:04:42 it but objectively speaking he's still doing phenomenal on the charts as it is bad bunny interestingly enough little baby only has two tracks projected to chart in the top 50 but bad bunny has not one not two not three not four not five but six tracks projected to the chart in the top 50 now granted little baby does have the highest out of all of the respective artists uh new entries with dumb dumb and dumber uh as that's set to be the 17th most played track in the world but then you come to bad bunny who has a second with it's supposed to be the 27th most played track in the world and I can't pronounce this it's like
Starting point is 00:05:32 new newiva new wavea new waveo new waveo new wave oh I don't know if I said that right I'll probably butcher that but yeah I get what I'm saying right I'm trying to figure out why in the world it's bad bunny getting out sold by little baby that's my main focus because obviously it's analytic dreams over here we definitely check in the analytics and bad bunny has some of the most dreamlike analytics in the music industry so for this to happen is very surprising and it's a huge w for little baby how long will little baby be able to keep this up it really doesn't matter at this point first week sales is a really significant accomplishment
Starting point is 00:06:08 especially when you go back to the negotiation table you can say hey when i dropped the album it outsold bad bunny no matter what happened before and after this week i outsold bad bunny as far as first week sales consumption and that's a huge accomplishment that's like beating I'm not going to say bad bunnies lebron but that's like beating i don't know joke it's or something uh in not the playoffs but like a pivotal game right let's say like oh there was one game to get the fifth seed and y'all both had the same record like beating him in that game to get to the playoffs like it's still a significant accomplishment that definitely should hold some type of monetary value going forward in the future But anyways, with that to decide, as far as the actual album, it's projected to debut at number three, not even two.
Starting point is 00:07:01 Now, definitely not one. Number three at 90,000 sold first week, a very big drop off and noticeable drop off. And I really don't have the answer for why I dropped off. He's been on tour. He's been making noise, even outside of putting out music. I don't understand why the anticipation was lost. Because I'm looking at his discography. It's not like he's putting out music 24-7.
Starting point is 00:07:24 I mean, he's doing features. He's doing albums. But the albums was spaced out. Like the last one came out in 2023. One before that came out of 2022. The one before that one came out of 2020. Like, he's not just throwing out albums. So, and there was a two-year gap between the last one that sold,
Starting point is 00:07:43 um, between the last one that sold 197,000 to this one that sold 90,000. So I just don't understand. the significant gap. Anyways, so with that being said, there's something else I was wanting to get into. Oh, the Nuevo, hopefully I'm saying that, a Nuevo, I don't know how to say that. But anyways, that's the most successful track off of the project right now. If you want to listen to it, it's basically an hour and two minutes long, but it's bad bunny. So at the end of the day, you already know you're going to get quality or some sort of effort put forth.
Starting point is 00:08:23 and then it released on January 5th. Now, that's one of the reasons some people were saying that it may have not sold as much, but it's too big of a gap. Like maybe if it was 183 to 170, maybe I'll say, okay, I understand. By 183 going to 90,000 first week, it's a little different. So I'm interested to see how he follows up this album because I don't think he'll let this linger as far as the bad taste of him getting outsold. by little baby because honestly for people who's in the industry looking at this it's pretty it's
Starting point is 00:08:58 not a terrible look obviously you do have the third most popular album in the world but last year you was in the top five as most streamed artists in the world i don't think drake well actually i just said the weekend when he got outsold back in 2022 to gunna so this is what it reminds me of i don't think this is a significant like detriment to his career but it's definitely something to point out that on February it was a February 5th well he put out this album February 5th I forget when Little Baby put out his album
Starting point is 00:09:31 so on February 3rd when Little Baby and Bad Bunny went head to head with their respective albums everybody will will always remember that in the first week sales Little Baby outsold Bad Bunny and if you want to know how big it was it wasn't like a close race little baby little baby with wham sold 130,000 first week
Starting point is 00:09:59 bad bunny with the album debby t r mars f o2 s all right you got that with that album so 90,000 first week so it wasn't even close little baby outright just ran away with the biggest album as far as the first week of sales being considered the biggest album in the world so Ultimately, bad bunnies got to figure this out. I do believe that he's going to have the biggest longevity, just like the weekend had with Don FM. As far as drip season forever from Gunner back in 2022 and the weekend's Don FM, which was also released back in 2022,
Starting point is 00:10:44 I mean, if you go back to those two albums, they're both phenomenal. But which one are you really playing in the future, like two to three years from now? So I don't think it's a big detriment to Bad Bunny, but it's definitely something to point out, which is why I wanted to give a whole just explanation on why people may see the cells may not look in the greatest for Bad Bunny when compared to what he usually does. So with that being said, click my link to my bio. Let me know on one of my social media is what do you think about Bad Bunny and his latest album, which I cannot pronounce, but obviously it's out now on all DSPs. and what do you think the reason is to why he sold less as far as first week sales compared to his last album
