You know, at first, I thought Rihanna was only bad gal as that's usually how it's pronounced, right?
Bad gal?
Or did I mess that up?
Anyways, I'm keeping that in there because it's first take, you know what I'm saying?
Anyways, real name, of course, is Alba Ferello and she is from Cantalonia.
Basically, Spain, born in 1997, but you don't even know all that.
We're getting into the music and why we're covering this particular artist in the first place.
Well, the reason we're covering her is simply for the fact that she puts up numbers.
Now, as far as Apple Music charts in France, she basically put up a lot of numbers with Santa Fe.
And that means her being in the top, it was basically the top 60 because she was at 55.
It's one of those more up-and-coming rising artists, I would say, because obviously she's been putting out music for a while.
but I don't think a lot of people really hurt of her or even seeing her music to recently.
As if you really look at it, I mean, she had one of her more successful years back in 2022
when she won the MTV Award for a Europe music award for Best Spanish Artists.
And also, her catalog in general includes 19 platinum and 5 gold records.
So it's not like she's just out of the blue successful.
she's been building up her career for a good amount of time to where now she receives more praise as far as especially since her viral clips start to take off on TikTok because it was a hit song during the tour and basically that went off and then now she's collaborated with Carol G Sean Paul and she's also featured on Carol G's latest album which you know to any
artists that would definitely help you out as far as just seeing the exposure of being on the
artist that prominent like Carol G but basically some of the other things I wanted to get into
is her presence in the international music scene maybe why people in America don't really know about
her but like I said with her awards as far as numbers that she's been putting up as far as records
19 platinum five gold so obviously she's putting some numbers in America or
those wouldn't even be certified.
So the biggest thing is she's definitely more popular overseas.
And I brought up Rihanna for a reason.
It's because she basically gained a lot of publicity after her cover of Rihanna's hit
song, Work, and that went viral.
And if you don't know, Rihanna's one of her, you know, nicknames is bad,
gal as I don't know she's bad I don't know I really done I ain't think too deep into it so with her
redoing work going viral for it all the way back in 2018 and her combination of Catalan
Spanish and English lyrics makes it to where a lot of people are being targeted as far as
a demographic if that makes sense but if you don't know recently in April bad gal
signed an exclusive worldwide recording deal with after club the dance and global
culture division of UMLE and endoscope records so just to let you know that's
why I'm covering her in general because I feel like she's starting to make more
waves in not only the international space but especially in music because if you
don't know sometimes very popular artists overseas would get American
distributors and major labels
to promote their music to Americans, basically.
And so with her being very successful overseas,
with a lot of international performance,
and, you know, of course,
I keep bringing up her career being short,
but she still is very accomplished
and graced a lot of stages,
like a lot of Paloosa and Chile and Argentina,
and as well as Barcelona Beach and Festival in Spain.
And then she's also set to perform,
and she also performed at the,
is stereo picnic in columbia so a lot of things to be said for this artist bad gal and how
her rise to fame came about but you know a lot of other collaborations helped out with that but now
she's back again on her own two feet putting out his this new track titled actually i even not
say this so i'm just prefacing this with the with i'll probably going to butcher it but i think the title is
La Jolla.
La Jolla?
I don't know.
I try my best.
It's like L-A-J-O-I-A in case you wanted to type that in.
So that's basically all I have for Bad Gow.
Just letting y'all know over in the French space that we Americans do try our best as far as
as true, you know, trying to look outside of ourselves.
And Bad Gow is definitely one of those that deserves to have that type of recognition
that she's been putting up tremendous numbers in such a short span of five years.
So with that being said, click my link to you and my bio.
Let me know in one of my social medias.
What do you think about Bad Gals' latest track La Jolla?
And also, if you haven't heard of her, then will you give her a listen?
