Starting point is 00:00:03 Now I'm not going to lie to you. I saw one track and did not realize this man put out a whole entire album. Because throughout the lifespan of this podcast, I have never talked about Benson Boone because technically I cover hip-hop in R&B. But currently, the overall landscape of music is affected by every single genre. So you have to pay attention to the heavy hitters from the other genres to know how it affects hip hop and how they've released or how their release schedule is set up so for this man to put out an album is very interesting to see what the reception is as far as numbers wise and what it
Starting point is 00:00:50 says for the overall landscape as far as who ducked or who pushed back their release date simply to not have to compete with his first week sales which currently with Benz's Benson Boone for people who don't know about him. He's he basically makes pop songs. And he has pop tracks. Obviously, a lot of performing tracks, MTV named Boone, their Global Push artist for October. I don't know what that means.
Starting point is 00:01:28 Thowed out tours all across North America and Europe, which I would definitely say is way more. more impressive than any award you can ever gain or receive because putting people in seats to watch you perform in a large venue is way more substantial in the long term and compared to just getting a award from people who may not be as tapped in into the culture because those people you put in the seat if they enjoy the show they're going to come to the next one whenever you come back in town and now you just keep building and build into the point where you're selling out large venues at a rapid pace so with him basically reaching new heights in 20
Starting point is 00:02:18 well basically this year i don't know if it's the highest heights he's ever reached but he's currently well as far as on spotify he's the 34th most played artist in the world but more importantly way more importantly when all DSPs are considered when all the numbers have been ran compared to his peers he is top two and he is number two like usually they say top two not two he's definitely number two as beautiful things it got to suck to have a not even suck but you know it's just got to be tragic and very teasing feeling like you got teased to have a tracking number two and stay at number two for so long but never break that number one spot because basically he has a track title of beautiful things that has been at number two forever for 10 weeks it peaked at number
Starting point is 00:03:13 two is staying at number two for 10 weeks and it's never been number one other tracks like well literally no pun intended like that by future metro kendrick lamar lose control by teddy swims loving on me jack harlowe all of these tracks get a number one and then fall off. So when you get, well, not fall off. I mean, not be disrespectful.
Starting point is 00:03:35 But they don't stay at number one. So to have a number two track, stay at number two for 10 weeks straight, it's like at that point, like goodness, like what more do you want for me? Like I feel like Tyrese at this point. Like you're telling me that I can't get a number one
Starting point is 00:03:49 simply for the fact that Teddy swims, lose control is just going that crazy on the charts. So anyways. Beautiful things. things is still going to be in the top three, especially with this album being put out. But some of the things around this album would definitely help the fact that he is one of the more successful artists in 2024, which is why I'm covering him in the first place, because there ain't no shame in my game and telling you that if there's another genre I'm covering,
Starting point is 00:04:20 it's only because of the top performer. And I know that inherently is going to have some type of repercussions as far as release dates and how people move in hip-hop or else it should. for the smart ones it does for people who don't really care about the music landscape like that they just put out the the music whatever whenever and they just flop and fail stuff like that so but anyways uh benson boom you know what i mean kudos of you that man has an album out on all dsps what's the title let me see it's titled fireworks and rollerblades oh also if you was wondering if that's his only hit he's not like one of them one hit wonders obviously he has a bunch of
Starting point is 00:05:02 of hits which that should go without saying but for the people first time listening as far as this year alone he has that top two track that's been a number two for like ever like 10 weeks and then he has another track titled um slow it down that's a newer track on the charts and that just reached the charts at uh 45 let me see because um let me see if it's still at number 45 yeah it was at 49 debuted at 45 so yeah that track is doing well well but anyways his album is out now i'm not spending too much time on it because i definitely am not the most uh and and indulging as far as the the country music um so yeah we're just gonna i don't even know if it was country i think it's pop music my fault was that racist probably not
Starting point is 00:05:53 i'm black anyways click my link tree in my bio let me know one of my social medias what do you think about benson boone putting out his new album titled fireworks and rollerblades and also if you've give another listen what is your favorite track from the album
