It is finally here.
American Heart by Benson Boone, 10 tracks, 30 minutes in length,
and of course a phenomenal rollout to go along with it.
As his most popular track out currently,
that's already a classic not pertaining to this album,
72 weeks on the charts, beautiful things,
is still the 10th most listened to track in the world.
Do y'all not know how wild it is to have a track,
that's 72 weeks on the charts
is still in the top 10.
I mean, that's one of the more successful tracks
that we've seen in the past two years.
So with that being said,
Shibuzi, I was also, yeah,
Shibuzi, a bar song to give a comparison,
has been on the charts for about 61 weeks,
but to be fair, it's also the seventh
most played track in the world.
Then you have Lose Control by Teddy Swims.
That's been on the charts for about 95 weeks,
and that's the ninth most played track in the world.
So the reason why I'm saying that is to put it in perspective,
the numbers that Benson Boone is putting up
because he's been doing a phenomenal job
rolling out the marketing strategy for this album,
American Heart. And now it's out now
on all DSPs, 10 tracks
in Lent, well, 10 tracks, 30 minutes
in Lent. And to go along
with that, his last album before this,
Fireworks and Roller Blaze,
is still the 29th
played, a 29th most
played album in the world as of
now. So this man is just riding high right now as far as the amount of consumption that he's
garnering. And deservedly so, because I do believe when it comes to some of the singles that he was
putting out, I mean, it was straight fire. So listening to it, critiquing it, or not critiquing it,
but listening to it, dissecting it, breaking down just the meanings of what he was trying
and get across. This latest one, as far as the opening scene of him wearing a one-hit wonder
shirt during a fictional pitch at an industry playing records like that's just straight comedy i don't know
who's helping them out in his marketing strategy but they are doing they are doing a phenomenal job
so when it comes to that i do believe especially the way that he's going at the way he's approaching
getting his album to gain more attention from the masses is a master class when you're a content
creator in the space of getting when you're a content creator and your main purpose is to get people
to focus on whatever you're saying whatever you're putting out you do have to think outside of the
box because whatever you thought of before somebody's already thought of it and they've already
attempted it but does not mean that they succeeded with that idea so sometimes you have to refine
it just a little bit and maybe that same idea that somebody thought way before you
will end up working for you because you tweaked it
just a bit so now it actually works
but benson boom
this album I think is going to do phenomenal
and I would be hard-pressed
that any album comes out on top of it as far as
the first week sales now to be fair
Morgan Wallen did just put up
209,000 units this following week
which makes it currently the most play album in the world
That is his only competition.
I'm not saying his only like he's just like some random opponent.
We are talking about Morgan Wally here.
So he could have a huge hold to the point where he could put up 150 or even 180,
depending on how those listeners that made it number one,
depending on if they keep listening to it or if they fall off as far as listening to something else.
But I'm the problem came out May 16th.
Ladies and gentlemen, it is June,
20th of 2025.
I mean, it's still
at the number one slot as far as the most popular album.
What Morgan Wallen is doing is beyond impressive.
So the reason why I'm talking about sales
is because Benson Boone is putting up sales
amongst the best in the music industry right now
as far as consumption.
So first week sales is going to be a big metric,
especially for him already having
super successful singles leading up to the album.
I would say it's going to be a tight race
between Morgan Wallen.
And now I'm the problem because if I was to go off of his last album.
So his last album, like I said, was fireworks and rollerblades.
And let's see.
Because I did cover that album, so I'm just going to go to that.
Well, shameless plug, Benson Boone, fireworks and rollerblades,
analytic dreams with a Z to see my deep dive or to hear my deep dive into that album.
But anyways, in verse.
Because I was trying to make sure I was looking at it.
correctly. So anyways, yeah, make sure to go check that out on my podcast. But as far as the first
week sales, uh, fireworks and roller blaze by Benson Boone sold 58,000 first week. Wow. Okay. Yeah.
So that's not going to get him first week, uh, as far as this year. Um, some will say
American Heart is going to be way more successful. I will say some of the singles that he put out
before this album came out was doing phenomenal on the charts to the point where it would make sense
to say that he could get the number one album, but now looking at fireworks and rollerblades
only, I'm not saying only like it's not a huge accomplishment, just comparing it to the big dogs
in the music industry. It's only 58,000 units first week right before, well, if that was your
latest outing and that was your first week sales, as far as this album, I don't think he's going to come
close to the first week sales, especially with Morgan Wall and gone crazy.
Because I don't think there's any single that's going to put it up there.
Because you have beautiful things.
And then you have mystical magical.
And then you have, sorry, I'm here for someone else.
So sorry I'm here for someone else is currently the 31st most played track in the world.
Mystical Magical is the 30th most played track in the world.
And then you have beautiful things that's the 10th most popular track in the world.
So mystical, magical.
I'm here for you being in the 30 range.
I do believe that could help it out a lot.
I have seen before.
Singles do phenomenal.
And then the album come out and completely flop.
I'm not saying Benson Boone could do that.
But I'm not going to say the artists.
Well, actually, I got to say the artists just because, you know,
I do like this artist, but I got to keep it eight more than 92.
So when Doja Cat put out this track title, Paint the Town Red,
and then that was a smash hit.
It was like number one, number two, number three.
It was like top three for like months.
right doja cat put out her album following that single and it didn't do as well as you would have
thought right and that's why i bring that up as far as benson boom because if you're successful
on the singles front but struggling on the album front one could only wonder why that is because
that is not the usual in the music industry usually it's the opposite so i think it was scarlet right
yeah it was scarlet so as far as scarlet because that's what painted yeah that's what painting
the town red was on and that was literally the most popular track for quite some time so um so yeah yeah
okay so scarlet sold 72 000 units first week mind you paint the town red was one of the most
popular tracks in 2023 if not the most popular for quite some time when that album came out i'm not
saying it's low i'm just saying compared to the top dogs that's usually putting up 200 300 like we've seen
with little wayne just putting up 100 and nobody even heard everybody was discrediting the car to six rollout
it ended up selling over 100,000 first week dracon party next door sold over like two 300,000
they didn't have a huge single no key it wasn't before it was during the album release um
kendrick he sold like 3 something thousand with genx uh play with card he sold like 3 something 4 some
um thousand with music the reason why i'm saying this is because
Dojicat was going to be compared to those artists with her paint the time of head track.
But of course when they came out, that was only going to sell 72,000 first week,
made people pause.
And now we kind of see that we haven't really received any type of commercial hit from DojCat since as far as on that album front.
So I don't know what's going on with that.
I just wanted to tie it in with Benson Boone to let you know that this is possible to have a successful single and still have a dud as far as
first week sales because benson boone is at the point where his label is going to look at him like
oh you can get me a number one right as far as first week sales but now we don't know about that
because morgan wallen at a month end is still having the number one album is still selling over 200 000
as far as album units which is insanity people do people do 200 000 first week and they're glorified
we just went over Benson boone's number 72 you know 50 some thousand first one
week we went over dojicad with painters of town red going crazy only sold 72,000 first week
we're a month end and morgan wall and it's still selling over 200,000 first week but now uh
still selling over 200 000 album equivalent units so it's just not the same some people are just
playing on a different landscape and yeah so dojicat's last album with scarlet two claude sold 48 000 first week
so we're just going to see what what benson boone does but as far as the number one i i'd
I don't see it going number one at all.
But maybe I end up being wrong.
But like I always say,
just because you sell a lot does not mean you make high quality.
And just because you don't sell at all,
does not mean you make absolute trash.
So just because you go number two,
does not mean your music quality was not number one.
With that being said,
