Something I don't get into often, but it's very interesting how for this whole period of me doing the podcast, mobile games have been neglected to a point where I realized I needed to make some type of segment giving the mobile gaming community love.
Because of course, I cover a lot of games from the PlayStation Xbox Steam platform.
but when you look at it in totality and especially as a true gamer you have to acknowledge one of the fastest growing businesses in the media industry because with mobile games simply outselling all of PC and console games as far as or outperforming PC and console games as far as engagement because if you don't
don't know because mobile games are so accessible and easy to pick up it absorbs twice as many hours per week
compared to PC slash console console games so of course when I came to that realization
because you know I do my research before I get into these segments I wanted to break down the
best emulators not only for iOS but also for Android platforms
while also just giving a little apology to the mobile game community
because obviously I've been neglecting y'all.
And that was not on purpose because covering games,
you get so caught up in the super big budget,
God of Worst, Spider-Man, Last of Us, Starfield.
I don't know if Steam exclusive game.
Do Steam have exclusive games?
Well, as far as the Steam popular games,
Counterstrike, you know, Dota, things of that nature.
But focusing on the mobile aspect, I think needs to be more consistent from me.
So for that, I sincerely apologize.
Hopefully, y'all accept my apology.
You know what I'm saying?
Because, hey, I'm not giving another one.
So anyways, mobile games, of course, has been changing its perception over time as
the average player now when it comes to mobile games is around 30 years old surprising right and then
as far as u.s gamers gen x and baby boomers which is 45 plus well baby boomers is 45 plus
culminates up to 25% of top grossing games and 2021 marking a 6% increase from 2019
So that is just a testament of the times and how people are adapting to the overall mobile game industry.
So that is something where when I was looking at it, that wasn't the biggest factor that stood out, but it was one of those to acknowledge because usually when you think of mobile games, you think of a little kid that needs to be entertained so he or she doesn't act up.
So you give them an iPad and let them play on the game while you can have some peace and quiet in your humble abode, right?
So other than that, the mobile game industry has reached approximately $200 billion with a B in revenue.
unprecedented
growth as far as the gaming
industry. So
of course 2020
the aftermath of
COVID slowed down some of the numbers
for mobile games as everybody was
inside. So
people were more inclined
to play on their mobile devices
versus
going to their job
because they had to be in person. You know,
with COVID you got to work from home things of that nature so now you're playing games on your
mobile device while you're waiting for a meeting or something like that so anyways um
despite the slowdown in 2022 because of the pandemic there was a lot of changes that happened
in a mobile mobile industry that affected it a lot as far as Apple's privacy policy change
basically changing basically changing and affecting mobile games
ads and the industry had to recover from that whole privacy fiasco that Apple basically caused
right so another thing about mobile games is that the whole traditional
platforms like consoles and PC have been outperformed when it comes to mobile
engagement which I've already said but now I want to switch gears again into
the actual point of this segment which
which is the best emulators for iOS and Android.
Because if you don't know,
emulators are one of those things to where the new technology
has allowed us to have certain aspects
when it comes to our mobile devices
that which is simply impossible back in the day.
So now, whenever you're able to play games like Grand Theft Auto 3,
whenever you're able to play games like Crazy Taxi,
uh mario um spider man i saw somebody who's playing spider man web of shadows on the mobile device apparently
there's an upcoming nintendo 3d s emulator called folium which is if you want to look it up
f o l i um running on iphone um oh that's the specific iPhone for the person who is running it but basically
it was footage of upcoming nintendo 3d s emulator folium
supposed to be coming soon.
So they said that that specific emulated, you'll only be able to run 3DS games at full
speed on iPhone 15 Pro or newer.
And older models won't be able to get the achieved full experience.
So what I wanted to do, which is give you a plethora of options.
So just this whole segment, whether you are Android user, whether you're an iOS user,
you will find an emulator hopefully in this segment that is fitting for you and also analytic dreams
video on spotify to see the video along with the audio because i'm playing this video and let me shout
him out because basically i'm not like talking about whatever this video is over i just like
the way it looks so uh this video is from brandon butch usually i try to use videos from like big
companies or from like actual emulator companies but when it comes to the emulator it's such a new
thing that i don't really know if they like okay to be transparent i don't know if emulators were all
the way legal in the way it was used by mobile gamers in the past now a days i've seen more
legitimate emulators that you can use on your mobile devices now that um that is that is sufficient i
mean there's literally what I just said about the Nintendo 3DS emulator like they are starting
to embrace the emulator community rather than shun it because of course you know certain platforms
aka Nintendo would rather their Mario IP just simply be on Nintendo and no other platform so
what else okay so yeah let's get into the top emulators it's really not going to be too
long that's why I gave that whole breakdown of mobile games and how it's impacting the game
the community because obviously when i get into these emulators it's going to be pretty short and sweet
and basically name value and what stands out about the emulator so with that being said get your
pin and pad or just web browser and just be ready to look up whatever emulator stands out to you so as far as
the best emulators for iOS after you know going through a bunch of articles and looking up stuff on the
internet of course this is the list i came up with and it's
about five emulators well no five emulators for iOS I found and seven for
Android that it was a consensus that it was like one of the better ones better
emulators out on the market so anyways for the first emulator for iPhone we had
afterplay.io which is a browser-based collection of emulators and it has cloud
storage for game saves and cross-device gaming offers a variety of gaming consoles including
game boy super nintendo entertainment system you know hey got to keep my gamer card you know they had
their abbreviation but i was like hey i know what that means i don't want any kudos for that because
of course i mean it's one of the most popular concerts of all time but we'll be lying to ourselves
if you said if it was it was still relevant today so i was like what what does that stand for i was like oh that's
day so I'm not that old now just play let me chill so anyways and then you have the
Nintendo entertainment system which you know the NDS and then you have the
Nintendo 64 premium and more also a little bit more about afterplay.io it features
auto save manual save slots cheats input customization and screenshots so that's
the overview of afterplay.io and that was the number one as far as the
census over all the research I did for emulators for iPhone.
So yeah, let me just start with the number one and now get into the other ones.
So the number one emulator I found as far as research when it came to the Android devices
was the retro arc where they said that this was the best emulator for Android simply
because multi-consul emulator with a fronted, a front-end?
for various cores front 10 that's a new word hold up i don't think i've ever heard that one before
front 10 definition what what does that mean because i thought i was talking about fronting like
all they fronten all right so front in it says the front of a car so that's definitely not it
the part of a radio or television receiver to which the aerial signal goes first
that sounds about right i don't mind this one for a computer so this is probably it the part of the part of
a computer system of application with which the user interacts directly.
All righty.
Well, if you wanted a definition for that word because I sure did, there you have it.
So multi-consul emulator with a front tend for various cores.
Supports a wide range of consoles from Atari 2600 to PlayStation 2.
now i'm just going to get into the rest of the emulators for iphone and android so as far as the
rest of the emulators for iphone well yeah iOS system so ipad all that stuff in the whole ecosystem
ios you have the delta app you have play and play dot j s you have the app store of course but that's not
i mean i guess you could look up stuff like you can look at
up stuff as far as the specific app but I don't really think that's an emulator but it's on
here say and then you have upcoming emulators which the one I just named you have the
the ones from the Android side talking about retro arc PPSP I don't know what that is
and you oh yeah boots so anyways I'll go over that again the emulators for iPhone
number two was the delta app well of course number one was afterplay.io number two was delta app number three
was play exclamation point and play exclamation point dot j s so it was like two and one and number four
is the app store and then number five is just the upcoming emulators like the retro arc things of that
nature so number five's not really an option currently and then let's get into android so the other
emulators for Android you have retro arc of course which I just went over
N-E-S dot E-M-U so emu number three you have MD dot emu
you have well number four you have S N-E-S not X E-X plus which is a popular
Super Nintendo Entertainment System emulator on Android then you have
have number five the dolphin emulate uh emulator number six you have the drastic ds emulator
and then number seven you have the p p s s p p you know that extra p yeah p you know my eyesight
getting bad i'm about 80 i'm about i'm about 80 at this point like goodness so those are the
respective emulators for iOS and android obviously at the end of the day when it comes to emulate
It's basically offering a range of options for retro gaming enthusiasts.
So if you want to go back and play your favorite retro games that you used to play growing up as a kid,
you know, if you was 80 or 90, you know what I'm saying?
Let me stop age.
But if you want to play retro games, you can on your phone.
And those are emulators that could, that I just listed.
So rewind if you wanted the list again, but those are the emulators you could use to play.
retro games on your mobile device that will bring you back to your childhood and also providing
access to just a wide selection of classic games across across various consoles so with that being
said i don't know how legal it was back in the day but it seems as being more embraced and to take
embraced in today's age so i'm glad we've we've reached this uh this uh what's it called
basically we came to a common ground we negotiated to a standstill we have certain
emulators that we openly talk about and Nintendo just will continue to sue others
whenever it reaches too much of a egregious level which we're about to get into
in the next segment but with that being said click my link to my bio let me know
one of my social media is what do you think about my list of the best emulators
for iOS and Android
And also, when it comes to mobile games, when it comes to the mobile games in the gaming industry, what is your favorite, what is your favorite past memory of your mobile gaming experience?
