Starting point is 00:00:00 If you don't know, Big Sean officially has new music out because of Hip Boy dropping his new album titled Surfer Drown 2. Now, if you look at the second track off of the album, you will see a very confusing title for a song. But what we're specifically highlighting is that Big Sean is on the track. If you don't know, Big Sean was one of my favorite artists until he left me in my high school days. And once Drake kept putting out music, I was like, you know, at this point, Drake is probably my favorite artist. because I kept saying Big Sean while he wasn't dropping music, and I'm not like you, Kendrick fans. I'm not waiting no three years for any artist.
Starting point is 00:00:36 So now Drake's my favorite artist. But anyways, now that we've taken a trip down that memory lane, let's go down on the lane of Hip Boy and Big Sean, as they have some hits together as they have tracks like Blessings back in 2015 that featured, of course, Drake. And that reached number five that peaked at number five on the Billboard top 100 charts. and it's definitely certified triple platinum by RAAAA.A. If you don't know, that's like the official certification for plaques by just in the music industry.
Starting point is 00:01:08 Also, he had bounced back in 2016, which I'm pretty sure you've heard that track if you've listened to Big Sean at all. And that peaked at number six on the Billboard Top 100 and was certified platinum by RAAAAAA. And that also you had Harder Than Ever, which is the latest collab, I believe, by Big Sean and Hip Boy. that came out in 2020. That reached number 80 on the Billboard Top 100. So as you can tell, Big Sean had some of his biggest hits in the earlier years of his career. But at this point, I'm not going to say this man has fell off. All of my say is he hasn't really had that smash single that everybody could attribute to him and credit his name to,
Starting point is 00:01:50 which had Kanye West come out for no reason on drink champs and said that signing Big Sean was the worst decision. he ever made in his career, which was very comedic, but definitely hurt my heart, as Big Sean is one of the most lyrically inclined rappers I've ever heard. So to hear Kanye West talk about Big Sean like that was very disappointing, as you would think that Kanye would kind of try to highlight people like that, because he technically co-signed him. But now that Kanye West has made a joke out of signing Big Sean, it kind of put a damper on that whole relationship. And Big Sean's, I mean, already came out and said Kanye West owes some money. So it probably has a little bit to do with that as Kanye West is like, if you're going to accuse me of owning you money, guess what? I'm now going to go on a public
Starting point is 00:02:35 platform, which is Drink Champs, one of the biggest podcasts in the world and say you was the worst decision I ever made as an artist. Like, that's just down bad. But anyways, Big Sean and Hip Boy obviously have some hits together. I don't know if this would be one of those as the track title alone already tells me that this is not going to be a hit because who is trying to type in Y KWSF to try to find a song. Like who's going to remember that title? Honestly, it's probably one of the worst titles I've seen. Who puts an acronym for a single track?
Starting point is 00:03:06 I have no idea. And every single time I've seen the acronym for a track is never blew up on the charts. And maybe I can jog my memory, but it's never in the history of music blew up to top five on the charts. Like if you ever put an acronym for your track, just know it's going to flock and just know that nobody is ever going to listen to it. except for that song that Big Sean was like, I don't mess with. Yeah, you already know the rest.
Starting point is 00:03:29 But anyways, as far as Hip Boy and Big Sean, I don't really have too many expectations for this. The biggest reason I wanted to touch on this is simply because Big Sean has given us a new offering as far as music. And you can never take that for granted. As like I just told you at the beginning of this segment, this man left me in my most transformative to ears. And that's why I had to transition to Drake as far as him being my favorite artist.
Starting point is 00:03:52 And we'll see what this track is. ends up placing on a billboard top 100 but I don't really have faith in it at all so anyways click my link to my bio let me know one of my social medias what do you think about big Sean and hip boy teaming up once again on track two of hip boy's new album surfer drown volume 2 and will you be giving it to listen and if you have if you have specifically listened to this track do you think it's fire or trash
