Starting point is 00:00:00 Now, the time has come for me to give my honest opinion about Jermaine Cole. After the offseason, given it a plethora of tracks that was just amazing, off the charts when it comes to quality and replayability, and giving us a Hall of Fame run of features in 2022, I am glad to report that I am now still, I mean, changing my ways. Because let me tell you, the only way to change your ways is to reinvent the way you say you're old. You know what I mean? Because the way that Jermaine Coe is coming out with the fall off is the best way to say that I'm
Starting point is 00:00:59 getting old and I don't want to accept it. And also, another way to fall off is just to give us trash music. You know what I mean? That's where we're at. So anyways, we're back again with J. Cole trash features. I don't know what happened in 2022 and 2021, but the O.J. Cole is back again to reclaim its dominance in the trash category because this man gave us one of the worst features of
Starting point is 00:01:25 2023. Now, I know I know most of y'all, if y'all have listened to it. the podcast for a little bit, which shout out to y'all. Went from 15,000 to 21,000 uh, listens per, uh, episode. I definitely appreciate it. I would play the drop as far as applause,
Starting point is 00:01:40 but I want to get back into Jermaine because this man has shown once again, while he's one of the most overrated rappers to ever grace a mic. So, um, interestingly, is that you say? Interestingly. I think that's a totally made up word. Anyways, uh, Jermaine is back again.
Starting point is 00:01:59 And I'm so glad because, you know, sometimes I feel like I don't really want to say I'm wrong about Jermaine. And he just comes with something that's just so utterly garbage. I'm like, see, that's what I'll be talking about. But for the off season and then for his whole feature run of 2022, I can't do that at all. Like it was just like, man, that's another good track. Man, that's another good track. Man, that was an amazing track. And now, 2023.
Starting point is 00:02:27 we're back again and we're back where we started man i love it so jermaine cole um decided to act like he was the second coming of um i can't ever say that let's just say um you know some of the bt s members had to serve a mandatory military service in south korea right and you know who's the head of south korea let's just say jermaine kohl you know felt like embracing that culture i don't know why i put extra emphasis on the B, but embracing that culture and offering some vocals to bless lyric's old heads out there. And let's just say he utterly failed and trying to make this collab work. Now, as far as Jay Hope, I feel like he did his, he did a solid job at trying to honor how a hip hop track is made. This is definitely a hip hop track, I would say. And if you've,
Starting point is 00:03:24 or if you're even familiar with BTS, you know that they are inspired by hip hop musicians that they've said multiple times and interviews, but as far as Jay Hope, and this track is specifically tailored as far as hip-hop BPM and the range that BPM is usually in when you're talking about the hip-hop genre.
Starting point is 00:03:43 BTS usually makes pop genre, which is more slowed-down pop instrumentals type of vibe. But with this track, you have the regular verse chorus verse chorus and then the end of the track but for germane cold to come in and give us one of the worst features of 2023 i mean it was literally an off-brand version of the verse he did for benny the butcher like literally like the topic the subject matter everything was just like oh let me just do what i did for benny the butcher for j hope and nobody will notice like no i totally notice and it was
Starting point is 00:04:20 utterly garbage like disaster disastrous that's not you say it that's definitely not you say disastrous disastrous hmm now that's that's messed up uh well after me failing to say that word let's just say it was horrendous garbage utterly atrocious just diabolical to the ears and audio NyQuil to listen to Jay Cole try to be a lyricist and try to relive his glory days off of the Benny Butcher feature in 2022 because obviously
Starting point is 00:04:59 listening to the quality of this track, he's way past that. So you may think I'm hating on Germain, but I mean, if you listen to the track, literally just listen to Jermaine's verse on the track and it's just like straight garbage. Obviously he can rap, but like the same thing,
Starting point is 00:05:19 subject matter is everything everything is just copy paste from the benny the butcher feature like he tried to redo that in a in a very um mediocre attempt like if this was logic or if this was this was jack harlowe like you know how they would be getting killed right now but this is germane you know people let him slide you know i wonder why but let's just say that i wasn't impressed by this verse at all i think j hope did his thing i mean you can't really follow him too much He used to making pop music, literally running K-pop, like that genre, like running it, like being the best ever as far as BTS and trying to, you know, cross over into a different genre and make a different type of bop.
Starting point is 00:06:04 You know, you try to give him more leeway. But for Jermaine, he should know how to navigate these realms. And he did a terrible job at doing that. So, yeah, man, Jermaine's back being trash again, man. you love to see it so anyways i click my click my link to you in my bio let me know one of my social medias what do you think about the germane uh verse off of uh the track titled on the street with j hope from bt s
