Starting point is 00:00:03 Continuing with the Christmas spirit and acknowledging the icons that have given us Christmas anthems dating all the way back to the 1960s, 1970s, and the 1980s. This is no different as we're getting into the one and only Burle Ives. As for those who don't know, this man has a lot of impact not only on the Christmas holiday, but especially. through the likes of acting, the likes of writing books, and of course, him singing is one of the more prominent attributes that a lot of people acknowledge. So whenever we're getting into Burrow Ives and just talking about how a holly jolly Christmas is currently the 10th most played track in the world. And then of course you have Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, the album by Burrow Ives, of course as a 43rd most played track well most played project in the world currently you come to
Starting point is 00:01:08 realize that this man is a man of many talents as when he was featured in a 1964 christmas special rudolph the red nose reindeer burrow ives voiced sam the snowman a little fun fact for those who didn't know you know definitely love to come with snapple facts especially when it comes to the Christmas season if it pertains to the topic. Also, as far as his singles and the albums being considered, when he released his single in 1965 and included it as far as the Holly Jolly Christmas track, when he included that into the album, have a Holly Jolly Christmas. It reached number 32 on Billboard's best bets for Christmas chart in December, 1967.
Starting point is 00:02:01 So this goes all the way back, right? Burrow Ives also received the ASCAP recognition, ranking him among the top 25 most performed holiday songs in the early 21st century. One of the highest compliments and acknowledgments you can get, especially as a musician. So when it comes to the reassurgents of this track on Billboard Hot 100, when it peaked at 38 back in, 2017 and then of course in January 20th it reached all the way up and well it went all the way up to
Starting point is 00:02:38 number four on the Billboard Hot 100 so as far as peaking this track has peaked time and time again and it's been out since 1964 so longevity is an understatement when talking about this track because we could talk about chart positions and the way it came up and rose on the charts time and time again, especially around this time of the year. But another thing I wanted to get into was just the overall talents that he had. As far as just his voice really resonating with a lot of people and essentially making him famous for his control over his vocal inflection because he's one of the greater singers back in that time, right?
Starting point is 00:03:23 not only was Rudolph the red nose reindeer a hit, not only was a holly jolly Christmas a hit, but he also had several books, including children's literature, autobiographies, and books on his experiences and philosophies. So when I say a man of many talents, when I say a man of many talents is definitely not, doesn't do it justice as far as the amount of ventures that this man was in and having success in. Also, Burle Ives was connected with the Boy Scouts of America where he was awarded the Silver Buffalo Award, which is the highest honor for adult leaders in scouting. In 1965, his contributions to the organization, particularly through his music and storytelling because remember he wrote the children books and things of that nature resonated with
Starting point is 00:04:25 scouting values so those are just some of the other things i wanted to touch on because obviously we could just talk about music all day long but whenever somebody is very talented in multiple different fields it has to be acknowledged especially whenever it all ties back into what we know him for as far as what made him popular in the first place. So when it comes to Burrell Ives, when it comes to the overall impact of the charts, that's not it as far as his music contributions. He also wrote books that impacted the masses. He also acted in very popular shows.
Starting point is 00:05:06 I mean, one of the greatest Christmas shows of all time. If Rudolph, if Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer isn't on your short list as far as far as the greatest Christmas shows of all time, then I'm not going to lie to you. like Sean Carter once said, if you don't respect that, your whole perspective is whack, right? Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer is one of the greatest TV shows of all time.
Starting point is 00:05:30 And for him to play and voice Sam the Snowman, even after having these monumental hits, it just reinvigorates and reinstates how iconic this man and his contributions to society was. So anyways, with that being said click my link tree in my bio let me know on one of my social medias what do you think about barrel eyes a holly jolly christmas and personally what is your favorite christmas track of all time
