Starting point is 00:00:00 For research purposes, I have Cardi B's Instagram on the screen. Now, if you want to see it, just come to Analytic Dreams video podcast on my Spotify channel to see the video element along with the audio, because let me tell y'all something. We are strictly focusing on music today. So all of these pictures I put up for y'all to see is for research purposes. course. So anyways, let's get into the main reason I'm covering Cardi B currently because of course Cardi B has given us a plethora of hits throughout the aftermath of her successful album Invasion of Privacy that came out in, wait for it, 2018. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it is
Starting point is 00:00:56 2023 and the last time Cardi B put out an album was in 2018. But don't let that deter you from the that she's still been present and putting out relevant and impactful tracks in the hip hop community and now she is back again with a new single with megan the style and let me see how loud this video actually is so i can have carty b tell you herself i got an announcement to make tomorrow bye i got an announcement to make tomorrow bye all right so So of course, obviously, as I'm saying this, I want y'all to know I'm keeping this on the screen for resource purposes. But anyways, the announcement is that Cardi B and Megan Nostalia are coming out with a new track titled Bongoes. Now, this is the first time that they've made music since the 2020 hit titled WOP.
Starting point is 00:02:13 Now, what does that mean? I'm just going to need you for the purpose of this segment and for my own. in entertainment to look up what WAP means if you do not know and they come back and listen to the segment so anyways this is going to be astronomical and probably what they say blow the roof off the top because the way that the numbers are going to look after another collab and best believe you they have a music video that's going to be attached with this track after the success of how not only the audio version of WAP did, but definitely the music video version of how WAP performed.
Starting point is 00:02:55 Because I believe they had all type of celebrity cameos, if I can remember. I think it was Kylie Jenner. I think Siza popped up. Was it, I forget all the celebrity cameos. But basically, the Wop trailer did not disappoint. And that's all I got to say. So Cardi B announced this. announced a release date to be coming out at midnight.
Starting point is 00:03:21 So by the time you're hearing this, it's technically today at midnight. So technically Friday, if you want to be, oh, well, actually, you know what I'm saying? But at midnight, Cardi B will be putting out a track with Megan the Stallion titled Bongo's on September 8th.
Starting point is 00:03:38 So I gave you two dates, but at the same time, hopefully that doesn't deter you all. Or hopefully it's not confusing. If it is, then, hey, just bear with me. WAP was the first female rap collaboration to debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Of course, this track was so impactful they had the politicians coming out of the woodworks to scrutinize and ridicule this track because of its imagery and message, right? I believe that great forms, not even great form, amazing form of content is ones that is polarizing.
Starting point is 00:04:26 Somebody's either going to hate it or love it. The type of content that I enjoy watching or listening to is the ones that makes people either hate it or love it because at the end of the day, if my form of content does not make you feel any type of way from the time you press play until the end, then I did not do my job. So recognizing that,
Starting point is 00:04:50 when I saw that even the politicians was coming out to scrutinize this track called WAP, I knew they had a hit. And of course, it was the first female rap collaboration to debut at Hot 100. And despite all the backlash and controversy, obviously that didn't stop the success at all. But I had to bring that up just to show you
Starting point is 00:05:11 the impact that it had on just a world. And I mean, seriously, like, WAP was a worldwide impactful track. And to see them do it again with this collaboration, Bongo's would be insane. No pun, no pun, but I do believe that all they need to do is just crack the top five and not really try to replicate the success of WOP because WAP is not a once in a lifetime, but definitely a once in a half a what's a half a decade called i don't know basically wop is one of those type of tracks that doesn't come too often so i don't think bongos will perform as well as wop but wop is one of the most impactful hip-hop tracks of all time and i know y'all gonna be like
Starting point is 00:06:00 what what do you mean bring up some rock him or loren hill but hey let me tell you wop was was that was one of one one of the craziest tracks that's ever came out in hip-hop culture so anyways women one more point before i finish women rapping their their greatest subject matter is sex right with guys their greatest subject matter is killing the ops selling drugs pimping so which one is more negatively impactful when it comes to society? So that's why the whole WOP controversy and backlash which is so bewildering to me because it was like we champion so many people that destroys communities on a daily basis.
Starting point is 00:07:02 So it's like not to get all serious, but I had to end this off with that because I feel like with women rapping and the way they'd be like, oh, they only talk about this, they only talk about that. well, at least what they're doing isn't actually putting people in coffins and six feet under. So anyways, there's a little morbid conclusion to the segment. So hey, hey, take, anyways, do what you will with that information. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:07:29 Oh, also, this is Megan the Stallion's first music release since Toy Lane's been convicted for shooting her in the foot. What else? Oh, Megan the Stallion is set to co-headline the 2023 Global Citizens Festival in New York City. And Cardi B and Megan's new collaboration, of course, has been touted and tooted by fans as one of the most anticipated tracks of the year. And by the way that 20203 has been performing on the hip-hop side, they are not lying because everybody knows. that we need another release that would have longevity like Travis Scott Astro World. Like we need another one of those for the hip-hop world
Starting point is 00:08:21 because pop has one with Taylor, country has one with Morgan Wallen, even though some people say Taylor still falls into country. Hip-hop needs another release that will impact the charts and have longevity. Because of course, Gunna is with the F-U-Means song, but, you know, nobody's claiming Gunna nowadays. So anyways, click my link tree in my bio.
Starting point is 00:08:43 Let me know on one of my social medias. What do you think about Cardi B and Megan the Stallion releasing a new track title of Bongo's at midnight? And will you be giving it? Listen.
