Starting point is 00:00:04 Diving back into the Latin music community, one of the more pivotal artists, of course, is Corinne Leon. Hopefully I'm pronouncing that right. Now, when it comes to the actual single that's going crazy in Mexico right now, as far as being the ninth most played track in Mexico, it's titled something that I'm definitely going to butcher, but I'm going to try anyway because, of course, I think the Latin listeners very much enjoy when I completely butcher these names. and best believe it is not on purpose best i try my best to put respect in your name so that being said karenlione has a very popular track in mexico right now number ninth to be exact as far as the ninth most played track in mexico titled essay vato no tequita hopefully i said they're right you know i'm saying so that being said obviously this track has other artists on it and other artists uh one of them i believe i covered this artist before let me see if i can pull this up right quick
Starting point is 00:01:02 Yeah, so this particular artist, I believe I've covered him before at Gabito Ballesteros. I've definitely remember that name. Yeah, so back in November 8th and July 7th of the year of 2024, I covered Gabito twice with his track, Presente. And of course, his track where Oscar Mayadone titled El Vera. So, of course, you know, when it comes to the podcast, we cover the entire music industry. And that goes for the Latin community, that goes for the Latin music industry, goes for the, K-pop industry. It goes for What else? Country pop like anything when it comes to the music industry it all
Starting point is 00:01:43 washes like one hand washes the other because if you don't know everybody is influenced by Everything because of the internet so now you're seeing more and more cultures coming into the US market and putting up numbers as well because if you don't know if you're from overseas as a musician you need a certain number of US streams to even charge and on billboard if you're from overseas now if it's now is that fair of course not but you know i guess when the u.s. uh handlers in the behind the scenes are based in u.s then they're going to make it you know skewed towards u.s musicians anyways when it comes to karenne leone and his track that's currently the ninth most played track in mexico you got to know that his breakthrough was back in 2018 with his um track uh Travis del vaso hopefully i said that right
Starting point is 00:02:34 And then he had notable his as El Armored Dead Tuveda with Grupo Fermi. And when it comes to that, I think that him blending a lot of pop country blues and just, I don't know how to pronounce his other things like Serino mariachi. Serino mariachi, I think that's how you pronounce it. But anyways, that's basically what you're going to get as far as his particular sound. Now, of course, with his visuals, you would think he's a country artist. But that is not the case, right? He blends a lot of different genres into one.
Starting point is 00:03:07 Like I said, with the internet and evolution of people hearing a lot of different sounds and trying to replicate it, I think that's why we're getting the most genre-bending music that we've ever received. I mean, the most popular track of last year was a bar song in parentheses tipsy, which I think is definitely having a lot of hip-hop infused elements along with the country anthem dashibusi performed. So with that being said, a lot of things are just happening. when it comes from a genre bending perspective and uh karen is just the latest artist to take or to capitalize off of that as far as in when it first came out it was 11 on hot latin songs as far as him having a strong u.s. Hispanic market presence and then of course he was number one on
Starting point is 00:03:53 regional mexican airplay and then when it comes to streams on spotify i mean he's going crazy really don't need to get into the numbers when it comes to that having the extensive radio play on Mexico is great because if you don't know, if you're popping on a Billboard Hot 100, you're usually the most popular in your specific region, right? Because the Billboard is overall everybody's music considered what's the top 100 songs, what's the top 50 albums. And Corinne ends up in both of those as, you know, currently he's the ninth most play, where he has the ninth most play track in Mexico. So he's not currently on the Billboard Hot 100 or the top 50 as far as albums but he's definitely making his way up there as when it comes to this particular track i believe
Starting point is 00:04:35 it's under okay it's under mom plus pop under exclusive license to pablo so i've never heard that label before and that is a very interesting title for a label um actually i'm gonna look this up because i've never heard this label before this is this is the first for me because i would say this is more of an independent artist or independent label yeah i'm not really finding anything about this record label so i guess it's more independent to him i mean it does have mom plus pop under exclusive license from pablo pablo so whatever that means hey that just means he's you know he's i don't know what it is actually i don't know what that label is at all so i'm not even going to act like i do so with that being said um ticot is also helping out a lot when it comes to a song visibility because if you
Starting point is 00:05:26 don't know the crossover you have to um engage in a lot more marketing strategies than a u.s artist because you're trying to and captivate people that are really unfamiliar and just straight up ignorant when it comes to other coaches, right? So it's great that he has a marketing team helping out with that. But overall, when it comes to his specific track, Esavato no Tequita, being the ninth most play track in Mexico, I think that's the biggest takeaway from this. And of course, all the artists, well, Ghibito Ballesteros, him having, Corinne, having him on a track is definitely helping out as I've covered.
Starting point is 00:06:02 him twice before and he's definitely been killing it especially in the latin community so that being said click my link to stream my bio let me know on one of my social medias what do you think about karen leone's track with gabito being the ninth most played track in mexico and ultimately what is your biggest takeaway from the overlapping and genre bending as far as worldwide music is considered
