Starting point is 00:00:04 Now what in the Halliburton is going on right now? Because I'm not going to lie to you. Enough is enough. In the early 2010s, yes, ladies and gentlemen, I have to get on my soapbox. Afro swing, while in the UK genre, it draws heavily from Afrobees that originated in West Africa. Now, you're probably thinking to yourself. Now, why in the world would you start off a segment like that when getting into a track? Because let me just tell you something.
Starting point is 00:00:36 As far as making a certain sound from a specific region and not being from there, I think it is very tone deaf and insensitive to put out that type of music, especially if you're more of the formulaic box type of artist. Because with sexy red, y'all already know what type of music she makes, right? what type of demographic and locations that she'd be trying to go at as far as her being from St. Louis, Missouri, right? And then you have Central C. Now, I have all the praise in the world for Central C from time to time. I talk about this album, Can't Rush Greatness. I love certain tracks off of it there like St. Patrick's. I like the album in totality. But I have to keep it
Starting point is 00:01:26 eight more than 92 when I hear something I don't like. Same thing I did when I talked about Drake and his track to Maza with his artist Smiley. This is essentially the same thing because it's especially coming off of that album, which, you know, that album just came out this year, right? January 24th of 2025. But of course, when covering the charts, I always talk about sales not equally in the quality, but I do have to point it out in this sense. Sexy Red and Central C are not on the charts.
Starting point is 00:02:01 so when it comes to that i think there was a effort a very intentional effort to make a smash hit and i think whenever you get into the studio and try to make a smash hit off of something that you've heard that work before and you're not from that specific place like i said afrabeast is from west africa not saying that anybody outside of West Africa can't make Afrobees. But the complete shift from talking about UK drill killing people 24-7, sexy red, shaking, you know what, throwing money, all the ratchet activity in the world, to be might as well sponsor from the jump.
Starting point is 00:02:49 You already know what's going on with these particular artists. The boxes that they are in is very distinct, and they drew it themselves time after time and time again. So when you don't hear UK beat, when the subject matter from sexy red, it's still the same. I'm not even going to lie to you. She's still talking the same stuff. But as far as the beat choice being so different and experimental, I think for me, it does not work at all. Central C and Sexy Red on this track makes it as, it seems as if it's appropriation,
Starting point is 00:03:25 but both of these particular artists are minorities. So when it comes to the appropriating word, I try not to throw that around too much, but we have to call a spade to spade. At some point, we have to listen to these tracks and say, hold up, you're not from here. Why did you just out the gate after you didn't put up the numbers you may have wanted from an album or a single?
Starting point is 00:03:46 Why, after the fact, you coming out here and jumping into our genre? Leave that to Whisk Kid, leave that to Tim's. You know, as far as at the end of the day, some people will agree with you. with me some people won't but at the end of the day i do believe when it comes to these completely experimental out of the box type of tracks coming from very formulaic type of artist is very interesting in a sense because of the chart placement that they no longer had in the previous years when they weren't
Starting point is 00:04:19 getting outside of the box right if central see would have had experimental tracks off of can't Rush greatness, you know, basically showcasing that he been wanting to put this on his album. And I would have been like, okay, you know, it's a part of a body of work. You know, maybe he's just trying, he's just experimenting, but he gets back to what he gets back to. This is a single from Central C and Sexy Red. Safe to say that this ain't it. Like sometimes you listen to some and you just think to yourself that this is not it. And of course, Central C is the first name you see.
Starting point is 00:04:52 So I'm assuming it's his single. because sexy red i don't even know if she's gonna put out an album anytime soon because what is the subject matter going to be the only thing that sex red talks about is is a a couple of topics and one of them you can see on toby for the for the freaky you know so at the end of the day i think this is not as bad as fat juicy and wet from sexy red and bruno mars because i honestly think like no joking like i'm not joking at all I do believe fat, juicy, and wet by sexy red and Bruno Morris is probably one of the worst tracks ever created of all time, like in the music history. But this track is not terrible.
Starting point is 00:05:33 It's just I'm pointing out the appropriation of certain things, especially with your chart placement, not being as prominent as it was in the past. Because I know somebody's going to come out to woodworks and say, well, your favorite artist is Drake. I know I've said multiple. times that Drake's whole stick
Starting point is 00:05:53 as collaborating with the artist and book ganging their producer to the point where we already know that that man's going to change that that man is going to embody Shang Sung
Starting point is 00:06:07 whenever he gets into a studio with another artist from another region so I'm not saying that what he does is all the way fair so I'm keeping it eight more than 92s
Starting point is 00:06:21 because I know people are probably wondering where I stand on that. And I'll say that multiple times on a notorious mass effect. Obviously, if you're an up-and-coming artist, you have a unique sound, and Drake is collaborating with you just know. Your producer is about to make a whole pack just for Drake. So anyways, Central C, sexy red, they do have a track out titled, what's the title of this track again? Titled, guilt tripping.
Starting point is 00:06:46 And they're not tripping me into feeling guilty about degrading. this track because this is obviously one of the more appropriating type of tracks i've ever heard especially coming from these particular artists but um with that being said click my link to you in my bio let me know one of my social medias what do you think about guilt trip and my sexy red and central see at the end of the day do you feel like me or do you think that this song is absolutely fire and there's nothing wrong with it
