Starting point is 00:00:00 With the original release day being set for December 16th, 2022, and it now being August 4th, 2023. And reportedly, this has been pushed back three times at this point. Some people saying it's been two, some people been saying it's been three, and the diehard fans out there, I mean, the chief, Keith core fan base is still wanting Keith music in 23 have been saying that it's been pushed back way more times than that
Starting point is 00:00:37 because it's unclear why this album keeps getting postponed but a lot of fans are speculating that is due to sample clearance issues and or and or production delays which honestly
Starting point is 00:00:56 this kind of goes hand in hand sample clearance is kind of production delay and production delay can be anything. So I'll be more inclined to believe it may be clearance issues. As with samples in the hip-hop industry, a lot of your popular
Starting point is 00:01:13 or most, a lot of the famous musicians in the hip-hop industry are able to clear samples easier than lesser-known artists. Prime example, when Sweetie had the Barbie girl track first. And to get it clear,
Starting point is 00:01:30 she went to Nikki Minaj. Nikki Minaj, knowing that she was able to clear that track, ended up taking that entire track and giving it to her in Ice Spice. And now you see what that track is at at the Billboard Top 100. So in general, that's usually what goes on. There's a lot of musical chairs
Starting point is 00:01:48 when it comes to sample clearances. You can't just make music over any sample and expect the person not to come after you if you don't end up clearing it. I mean, one of the biggest new age rappers in today's age had that huge lawsuit with lucid dreams by Juice World. I believe that was the track where the sample that he used was from a specific band or artist or musician.
Starting point is 00:02:18 I don't know if it was sting. I don't know if it was sting. But basically they came after him and the amount that they was coming for and what was more interesting to me was the amount of time they waited to come after Juice World's lucid dreams. So sample clearances like that happens all the time. But all you need to know is for people to still be waiting for Chief Keith music in 2023, let me let you know some.
Starting point is 00:02:45 I know that Chief Keith was a pioneer of the drill movement. Of course, the whole Chicago wave when it came to rapping about non-law-abiding activities. But this man started putting out music, if I can find it, all the way back, in 2012, which honestly, it's not that long ago. But in 2023, people are still checking for Chief Keith music. Now I'm not trying to be disrespectful. But come on, man. We got a little dirk out here.
Starting point is 00:03:20 We have a lot of other musicians putting out certain quality that I believe is just leaps and bounds ahead of Chief Keith's quality level. Of course, he has classic icon. iconic anthems such as we love Sosa. But at the end of the day, as far as the whole discography is being concerned, there's a lot of different artists in the drill scene to gravitate towards other than Chief Keith. I don't want to come across as a hater.
Starting point is 00:03:49 I'm just putting that out there for you because that's just my honest opinion. And what I think is, it's been such a mediocre run when you look at the landscape of Chief Keith's discography, that at this point, it's kind of like Soldier Boy. He's more relevant for his impact and being a pioneer than he is for his actual music. So anyways, click my link to you in my bio. Let me know one of my social medias. What do you think about Chief Keefe's Almighty So Too being postponed once again? And do you think this album will ever come out?
