Starting point is 00:00:03 Getting into Chino Packets, because of course, when I first talked about this artist, it happened September 18th, 2023 when I thought he was going to be with my favorite musician, which is Drake. So that being said, I thought Chino Packers and Drake was going to have a track together, but whole time, I believe that did not happen. Actually, it did happen. Moto Capone actually did happen. And I believe I covered that. Don't you know that when it comes to the lifespan of the podcast, you cover so much music to the point where sometimes you forget. But anyways, Moto Capone did have Drake, Chino Packets, and Freda, Frasa Rigida. But I think the interesting thing with that was, I think I reported on that 2023.
Starting point is 00:00:50 And this album came out October 18th, 2024. As far as the specific track, I don't remember if it came out before or after my actual. cover coverage but that's besides the point so anyways um the reason why we're getting into trino packets for today is because oh yeah okay i just checked no i actually covered that uh before i actually came out so you know shout out to me for being on top of it but um yeah i reported on that drake track before it came out with showcases that it's my favorite artist as far as drake and you know i do talk about the latin musicians a lot when it comes to cali uche's named vega peso piso pluma uh oscar me ad don't i just finished covering his artist
Starting point is 00:01:32 as far as Victor Mendevo's album. But, of course, what y'all came here for is the album that's out now titled Christian, which if you don't know is by Chino Packas, just came out as of today. And the main thing about this album that you need to know is that it's filled with a lot of heavy hitters in the Latin community, whether it's Tito Double P, whether it's Oscar Mayadone, whether it's Nathan Vega, Luis R. Conriquez, It's safe to say this track, or no, this project, which is 15 minutes, 15 tracks, 44 minutes in length. It is mainly to showcase how Chino Pachis is deliberately stepping outside of the traditional
Starting point is 00:02:16 Koretos Tumbados, where really he's trying to blend more rap in urban regional fusion into his music and emotive of storytelling and songwriting. as if you look at it, a lot of different Latin musicians take their own spin on Caritos Tumbados, which I believe ultimately pushes the genre forward. Because if you have a lot of musicians, whether it's a bad bunny, whether it's a Foresa or Regina, top in the charts, then safe to say whenever Chino Packis comes along and he starts to talk about his fatigue in the genre, literally saying, quote, everyone sounds the same now, same trumpets, trombones, guitars,
Starting point is 00:03:00 they all talk about the same stuff. But then, you know what I'm saying? I was like, damn, look at the state of hip hop. Like, what's going on? Chino Packers needs to make a remix of that and say, man, look at the state of Corito's Tombados. Like, what is going on? As him saying that verbatim and then coming back out to double down.
Starting point is 00:03:22 He doubled down on it. Basically saying, quote, I just feel like everyone sounds the same now. I don't like that kind of music. Now everyone wants to jump on the same wave. You guys. See, that's the problem. I feel like when it comes to Chino Packett's,
Starting point is 00:03:40 when it comes to him releasing music under street mob records, which if you don't know, actually, let me see. Make sure I have my facts correct with street mob records. Because, you know, we don't spread fake news over here. So anyways, when it comes to him releasing music under street mob records, ATB, it is an independent music label that was founded in 2018 by Jesus Ortiz Paz, which goes by JOP, and the frontman of the popular regional Mexican band, Fraser Regina. So if you don't know, Fraser Regina is undisputably the top artist off of that label.
Starting point is 00:04:19 So when it comes to that, also having Chino Packas on that label, you know, you could kind of see how Fraser Regina being at the top of that, not top of the genre, but currently, I mean, he does have the most popular track in Mexico, talking about Frasio regita with his track two, uh, Sancho. I think that's how you pronounce it. But with that particular track being the most played in Mexico, seeing somebody that's successful in your very own label, um, I think shows you how much, how many people try to emulate his sound because it's so popular as far as where as a regita. So Chino Packett's seeing that, thinking to himself, where if I'm making my own album,
Starting point is 00:05:00 I have to make it stand out, which he literally came out and said, quote, with this one, talking about the album Christian, Chino Packett said, quote, with this one, we gave ourselves more freedom and worked smarter. We're more thoughtful now. So that ultimately showcases in the execution of this album. I believe for Chino Packett's fans are going to be very much enjoying this album. And that is why I was wanting to give this more of a deep dive just like I did for Victor Mandible. And so with that being said, let's get into the next track that I was wanting to get into specifically off of this album titled Floater with Nathan Vega.
