Starting point is 00:00:00 Talk about switching things up. Now, after this man dropped, I think it was from a bird's eye view. Let me make sure. So I don't want to get this incorrect. Yeah, after him dropping from a bird's eye view and from that being on my list of the best albums of 2022 solely because I'm more of a lyricist type person. If you're saying something in your music, I kind of put that in quality above a lot of other things. Like, if you're not saying anything about yourself, giving us any type of insight into your life, it's hard for me to rank your album in the top five as far as the year.
Starting point is 00:00:45 I'll let you have your sky in your productions just leaps and bounds above everything I've ever heard. That's besides a point. But for Corday, I really enjoyed from a bird's eye view. I like the way he approaches making music. I like his overall aspect. He looks at the big picture when it comes to making albums, and he really cultivates a conscious album. And the way that he even lives his life, I feel like it really says a lot about a man the way he goes about choosing his woman. And for him and Tennis superstar Naomi Osaka, obviously she's her own star and her own right.
Starting point is 00:01:31 but in general it just seems like corday is very poignant about how he goes about his goals him leaving y bn i feel like it was very strategic him transitioning into more of a lyrical miracle spiritual type of rapper because at first of course he was a lyrical rapper but you know some of the subject matter was a little different especially with the YBN days he was always the rapper but he was getting clown for being like sometimes not knowing like I don't know the way that he rap was a little different from the way that y being the mirror and of course almighty jay was rapping so besides that diving more into his lyrical miracle spiritual bag and kind of owning it i feel like that's when
Starting point is 00:02:23 you get the lost boy which i believe that came out like 2019 but so yeah that came out 2019 so he's only had really two solo albums. And I think both of those are really solid. I just feel like Corday is very cognizant about how he puts out music and how his message is delivered. And I don't think he
Starting point is 00:02:46 is really appreciated to the point where it should be. Him and his image, I think is why people don't really take him as serious as a rapper. Because when you rap,
Starting point is 00:03:04 and you don't look the part, it gives you a certain perception of being not cool, if that makes sense. And then attaching that with the Lisp, how to bring it up, because even though it doesn't bother me, it's like the UK slang for some people. They just cannot get over it.
Starting point is 00:03:27 And I do feel like that's unfortunate. I do understand because, you know, there's a plethora of, of other rappers who don't have lists, but I still feel like Corday is one of those type of rappers who exceeds expectations every single time he puts out music. And that's no different with this latest single that he just put out titled Make Up Your Mind completely switches up the pattern and how he usually gives us a single. It's very different sounding, it's very different Corday. he's given us melodies
Starting point is 00:04:05 I don't think we've ever heard throughout his past two albums the messaging is on point the bars is on point the whole packaging of the track is on point I mean if we look at the cover art Corday to me
Starting point is 00:04:31 is one of the best rappers up and coming I know a lot of people like to say little baby or well not recently but you know people was definitely saying that back in the day let's not forget a lot of people like to say little baby um currently a lot of people like to say 21 savage but when it comes to the to the diversity when it comes to diversifying the portfolio when it comes to subjects i feel like corday is the best rapper and the up-and-coming realm like of course i don't think he's really rapping
Starting point is 00:05:14 close or past like a Kendrick or a Drake but I do believe when it comes to his peers he is the best lyricist we have a lot of people like to compare him to germane I don't really I don't agree with that at all I feel like he's honestly like a younger Kendrick and the way that he's rapping about his life obviously he's not from the hood you know Kendrick kind of got that whole mantra of you know good kid from a mad city like he was saying and coming from Compton for Corday is a little bit of a retrospective looking at the bigger picture type of view which still comes with Kendrick-esque type of vibes if I if that makes sense I feel like when you compare him to Jay Cole it may just be because of some of the
Starting point is 00:06:07 dialect but I don't feel like his messaging is on the level of Jay Coe's I feel like it's honestly if I had to compare him to his peers, he would be the Kendrick to everyone who has came in the game with him or maybe a little bit after or before him. Obviously, when it comes to the Kendrix and the drakes, I don't feel like he's on that level. But like I keep saying, amongst his peers, I feel like he is the Kendrick of that group. So hopefully that makes sense. I think Kendrick, I mean, I think Corday, if I haven't given him enough praise, and currently, I think he's, you know, really in the running to be one of the best rappers to ever live.
Starting point is 00:06:55 So I know a lot of people like to clown Corday, but like I keep saying, messaging is really important for me and the way that Corday packages it along with his, uh, his mindset. an openness to experimenting like he does on this single. That's specifically why I keep bringing this single up because, I mean, obviously it just dropped. But I feel like being able to experiment in a way like this and still for it to come out sounding the way it did, just sensational. And I can't wait to see where Corday's career goes. I forgot he only had two solo albums out.
Starting point is 00:07:36 So the way that he's rapping, honestly, he could go down as one of the best rappers of all time. So anyways, click my link to my bio. Let me know one of my social media's. What do you think about Corday's status in a hip-hop game right now? And also, if you've listened to the track, make up your mind, what do you think about the track? And do you think that he is the best rapper amongst his peer group?
