So getting into Crystal of Atlan and diving into the mobile game landscape once again,
it being in the top 10 as far as one of the most played mobile games currently is very impressive,
considering it's in the midst of mobile games has been out for at least five to 10 years.
As far as a cookie run kingdom, a Roblox, a Pokemon Go being amongst some of the most played
mobile games in the world, Crystal of Atlan has broken into that and it even more as
currently is the six most played mobile game globally as it came out may 28th of this year so that's a
phenomenal accomplishment as far as it's starting off on a strong uh foot and definitely showcasing
how it's going to impact the masses for quite some time as when it comes to the sales and performance
just know as of june 2025 it surpassed 500 000 downloads across all platforms and the strongest
markets are Asia and North America and of course for people who are wondering we're going to get into
the well we just got into the sales so we're going to get into the reviews and sell roundup of this
particular mobile game and of course over here at notorious mass effect we love to talk about the
entire gaming industry so of course when it comes to this game specifically I'm going to tell you
what it is we're getting into the review roundups already talked about the sales about I'll dive into
that again but getting into what this game is about is a free-to-play
cross-platform magic punk mmo action RPG developed by vii games published by sky stone games formerly
known as new verse and of course the platforms are mobile right ios android uh but the interesting
thing about this is that it's also available on pc but more specifically epic plus standalone
and then p s5 with full crossplay so that's a huge
accomplishment itself as with the visual and tech enhancements on the consoles
PS5 has HUD optimization HDR dual sense haptics and PSSR support so when it
comes to this game best best believe they didn't just ship a port over to the
consoles they actually optimize certain things because of the hardware being
able to having the capabilities for the upgrades and the upgraded gameplay
so with that being said if you didn't know this game is more like
3D real time ARPG with XYZ axis aerial movement as there's a skill system equipping up to 12
active skills including finishers pet attacks and then the base classes you have five so the
swordsman musketeer magister fighter and puppeteer the advanced classes have 11 total including
the magic blade and the berserker that's unlocked at level 15 and of course we're not going to
into a lot of the spoilers but with the skills pool just know there's no gotcha paywall so if you're
increasing your character uh in this game just know you don't have to worry about the corporation
as far as uh skystone uh as far as skystone games trying to run you dry in your pocketbook so you don't
have to worry about that but ultimately what a lot of people do as far as crystal of atlan they get
into the pve aspect of the game as the adventure main story mission
a lot of people enjoy that part of it and of course the elite harder enemies the abyss
boss dungeons that's only for people level 32 plus so of course it rewards you for certain things
that's locked off until you hit a certain level which i mean ultimately helps out for people who
want to feel fulfilled when they upgrade the character and of course gives newcomers something to strive
towards especially when hopping into a whole new game and then hex chess is more of an
as far as this game the pve aspect is an eight-player tactical co-op as far as the hex-chest mode and then you have
pvp which is 1v1 and 3v3 reliant on player skill and then you have fleet system which has guild
mechanics for rays and dollies i think i said that i think i pronounced that right but as far as the free to
play um it does limit the daily run so as far as the stamina system it limits daily
dungeon runs refills every 24 hours so the free to play aspect there's no gotcha elements but of course
if it's free to play if you don't want to spend anything on the game there's an overall stamina system
that refills every 24 hours which um i haven't heard heard any reports as far as a consistent
consensus as far as that being too short so apparently people don't have any problem with that
as far as the world in design is an aesthetic magic punk which combines arcane magic
with steampunk slash Victorian era machinery.
As far as camera options, you have dynamic or top-down toggle for accessibility.
A lot of the customization in this game includes skill, builds, subclasses, cosmetic, pets, and mouse.
So for the people out there who game just to have pets that go along with them, this game is essentially for you.
And also, you come to realize, this game has a whole one-punchman crossover.
to the point where it happened not too long ago as far as June 26 and then as going into July 26 as the boss for this crossover event is Boros and Path to Hero Dungeon.
And then the rewards for this one punchman crossover is Mark of the Dominator, which is boss drops, master's license,
Saitama. Is that how you pronounce his name? That's one punchment, right?
The Satama transformation, avatar frames and cosmetics, S-S-grade pet, which is the terrible tornado.
And then you have mounts such as the Sky Knight Genos and the Wind Ride skateboard hellish blizzard.
And talk about nerd terminology.
Shepard, just look at the state of gaming.
Like, what is going on?
And speaking about what's going on, we also have the main story, which is about 20 to 25 hours across the linear zone.
such as Rhine City and Atlan ruins.
But to be fair, if you wanted to explore, which you know, I feel like in every game that has
explorable options and optional bosses and especially gives you more rewards for being those
bosses, I think you should explore.
So if you wanted to do the side content as well, you would easily get 40 to 50 hours out of
this game by going into the elite enemies, the abyss, and the seasonal events.
So when it comes to the sales surpassing 500,000.
across all platforms, you can see how that ends up happening as far as the masses just clamoring
for more and more as far as this game.
And then them having one punchman type crossovers, you come to realize that developers also want
you to stay on this game.
So not only are people enjoying this from a gameplay aesthetic, but also with the developers,
with the publisher, you come to realize that a one punchman crossover is not easy to pull off,
especially when you start pocket watching.
So with that being said, there has been some conversations.
controversies for this game and after that we're going to get into the review round those but the
controversies for this game um is the data privacy concern as i feel like for every mobile game
i review there's always that concern of privacy which you know it's very concerning for somebody
who covers the entire gaming ecosystem because if you look at it console games really don't get that
too often right i mean unless it's um net ease right net ease that made marvel rivals a lot of people
it's like, oh, net ease is going to take our data.
But I'm like,
Newverse, net ease.
I wonder what's the similarities.
Like, these people are just out here wildly.
Like, I do believe,
when it comes to people specifically being like,
oh, they're going to take our data,
there's a lot of things out here that is vying for your data.
Not saying that's a good thing,
but I just wonder why they always target
new versus net ease type of corporation.
But you know, that's besides the point.
I ain't trying to get canceled.
So then you have to have to be a lot of,
So then you have a Scottstone Games acquisition praise for transparency.
As far as, I guess with this publisher, they have a huge reputation in being like
respectful to their gamers and consumers that don't try to like steal their data or whatever.
So I guess that was a positive acquisition as far as Scottstone games getting this.
So and then the PVP balance, a lot of people have talked about how the musketeer slash demistrics dominate the
TVP meta. So of course, I haven't played the game. So I won't be able to tell you specifically if that's true.
But as far as the consensus, that's what a lot of people are saying. And then of course, when you're getting into other things, as far as the unique selling points of this game, a lot of people really love the magic punk design as far as the unique hybrid of magic and steampunk visuals.
They do enjoy the no gotcha elements as far as fully free classes and skill access, which is a huge positive for people, especially getting into mobile games.
games then you have aerial combat as far as the XYZ axis with float dodge and combo
change which makes a mobile game feel more intuitive because of usually it's not as
many mechanics when you're playing a mobile game so with this game having that in
the aerial combat as a that's a big selling point off of this game and then and
then when it comes to the full crossplay a lot of people do like how is a true
like a true crossplay as far as across console PC and mobile and then when you come to the license
crossover collapse such as a one punchman crossover you kind of realize how that could expand the appeal
to casual people who are really into other things but then they realize their favorite character
which could be say thama as far as one punch man being in this game crystal of atlas and now you look
crystal of atlan and then you're looking at the game and you're like hold up i actually like this game
let me give a try and then that's how it happened so that's why a lot of these crossover events happen
in general so getting into the review roundups we have ign they gave it a eight that gave crystal
of atlan a eight out of ten saying that they commended the combat depth but the visual well they
commanded commended the combat depth the visual design stamina grind was criticized though so as far as the
stamina grind i guess they didn't enjoy i didn't see a lot of sentiments as far as people
and I enjoying that part, but that IGN really didn't like that aspect of the game.
And then GameSpot gave this a 7.5 out of 10 praising it for class variety and no gotcha model,
noted repetitive side quests.
And then Metacritic has more of a positive review as far as this game because, you know,
you come to realize that Metacritic is always going to go up and down, but majority at the time,
if you look at it, like, I would say probably like two, three weeks after the fact
if somebody's like review bombing it if you look at metacritic that's usually a good depiction on how
people are enjoying the game so overall the scores are pretty positive when it comes to this mobile
game just know that currently it is the sixth most play mobile game in the world just came out
well i say just it came out may 28th which compared to the rest of the popular games on this list
it's uh the newest game to be on this list that i've seen in quite some time usually the games
i review in the mobile segment of the episode they've been out for like at least
two to three years. So for this to be such a new game, already, the six most play game,
the six most play mobile game. And then when it comes to when I got into, when I was introduced
to this game, it was like a while ago. It was like a week or two ago. And it was in the top 10 list.
And then it kept being in the list to the point where I'm now making the episode and now has moved
up from like nine to 10 to number six. So I think more people are starting to enjoy this game.
Obviously, it just came out. So we have to see what the foreseeable sales are as far as if it
increases and decreases because as we've seen what games like marvel rivals to bring them up again
you could fluctuate but then go back down to your new normal so i don't know if this is the new
normal for crystal of atlan but all i know as of right now it is one of the most play mobile
games in the world which as of me recording this is the sixth most play mobile game in the world
specifically so that being said click my link sharing my bio let me know one of my social
medias are you willing to play are you willing to try out this free to play cross-platform magic punk
mmo action RPG and if you are what entreats you the most about crystal of atlan
