Starting point is 00:00:03 Ladies and gentlemen, DeVito is back once more. Two years later as when he put out his album Timeless, back in March 30 of 2023, it definitely impacted the masses as it was a massive success reaching number two on Billboard's World albums chart. And it reached number 37 on Billboard 200. But not only that, but it also was nominated for a Grammy for its same. single, Unavailable, which was one of the highest successful songs on the US Afrobeats charts.
Starting point is 00:00:42 So with that being said, DeVito is back again once more two years later with his album five, which if you type in five with the F, which is normally how to spell, it would not pop up. So you got to type in the actual number five and then IVE and then it will pop up.
Starting point is 00:00:59 So anyways, this album by DeVito came out today, 49 minutes in length and it has a lot of prominent artists like the goat chris brown has other artists like victoria mona uh shansea becky g and of course the afra beat stars is represented as omad lay and victonia is also on that album so with that being said a lot of the singles included awuque with yg marley hopefully i'm not butchering these names funds featuring adumo do black and chek or chike i think it's chike i don't know it's one of those with b there steel and of course with the new additions as far as the collaborative efforts
Starting point is 00:01:48 especially the one with chris brown we all know how chris brown has just been running the game on the rnb side of things to the point where he was awarded as the most streamed rnb artist of last well the most streamed male rnb artists of last year because we all know the top streamed rnb artist of course goes to the one and only scissor so that being said de veto's album is out now on all dsps when it comes to his album and the previous album we would only have that to compare it to and like i said it reached number two on billboard world's albums charts timeless also peaked at number 37 on a billboard 200 and when it comes to the single unavailable it was Grammy nominated and also reached a peak of number three on u.s afrobees songs charts so his tracks with sensational
Starting point is 00:02:39 featuring chris brown is probably one of the more notable tracks you were recognized as far as having de veto on it but he also has hits on his own as if you was wanting to get into de veto's music I would probably say his fan base really takes the liking to the track. Be there still unavailable, Awuke and Feel, as far as some of his recent releases that's going crazy as far as his fan base is considered. Now, when getting into more Afrobeats-centric type of diatribe, I will probably pinpoint Burnaboy and WizKid and Thames
Starting point is 00:03:16 as being able to put out Afrobeats and influence every other genre to trying to emulate or incorporating their sound by having a feature. I mean, the infamous story of Wait for You by Future and Drake becoming as popular as it is because Future went to Tim's to sample her already popular track higher and then Drake ended up being able to clear that sample for a future. And because he cleared the sample, he was probably saying to himself, you know what, I'm putting myself on the track because I'm the one who got you this clearance as far as the sample. So that's how the way for you track ended up happening, which is probably why some animosity
Starting point is 00:03:58 built up from future, which is why he may or may not felt inclined to help Metro out as far as kicking drinks back in, as far as we don't trust you and this album, we still don't trust you. So with that out the way, we already know that the Vito and the Afrobeat lane is very popular and is the global icon as far as his music stature. But also, when it comes to staying true to African roots, he showcases that a lot. He never, he never just completely abandons his culture and acts like it doesn't exist just because he crossed over. Even though he's commercialized his music and also commercialized a lot of Afrobeat producers,
Starting point is 00:04:42 he also claims that no one can do, no one can do Afrobees better than Africans. despite his respect for international artists. So letting it be known, all of them other artists who's sampling out, who's sampling these popular Afrobeat musicians, all these other people who's just straight up trying to mimic or emulate their type of sound, it's not authentic and it can't genuinely be replicated
Starting point is 00:05:06 because DeVito said himself that no one can do Afrobees better than Africans, which of course I wholeheartedly agree with. So that being said, DeVito's album five is out now on all DSPs. So with that being said, click my link, sure in my bio, let me know on one of my social medias. What do you think about DeVito with his latest album five?
Starting point is 00:05:29 And what, if you've listened to the album, what is your favorite track off of five?
