Starting point is 00:00:03 Now, of course, diving into DDG's business once more as when it comes to the coverage of DDG, I talked about his spat, his fiasco, whatever you want to call it with Holly Bailey, of course. But when it comes to his actual music, this is the first time I've ever just deep dive into his musical output as far as his single that's out now on all DSPs titled. That's My Ball. Now, of course, with that being considered, just letting you know, this is the first thing. time me diving into DDG's musical coverage, meaning that I may get some things wrong, which you are definitely let me know I did as far as my double XL coverage when it comes to DDG. Because I was asking myself and asking the audience, why in the world is XXL not reaching
Starting point is 00:00:47 out to these influencers? Because of the numbers that they're top artists right now currently, as far as freestyle is being considered, Ian, the numbers that he's putting up as far as last time I looked, he had like around 230,000 and under a span of like 19 hours, right? influencers could do that and then some more. So I was wondering why not get a Plague Max and DDG. And of course, on Analytic Dreams video on Spotify, shout out to y'all on that platform for letting me know
Starting point is 00:01:16 that DDG was on double XL. And of course, it was in 2021. So that should let you all know. Now when it comes to longevity or not getting your credit that you think you deserve, sometimes you just have to be consistent. And then the rewards will come after that consistent. because you never know how long you have to prepare to meet that opportunity, right? And then it equals success.
Starting point is 00:01:41 But anyways, let me get off my soapbox. So anyways, DDG was on the 2021 double XL freshman list, as you can see right here, analytic dreams video on Spotify to see the video along with the audio. But as you can tell, he's right here in the bottom right, I believe. But if you look at the list, I mean, we have as far as the people who are standouts on this list looking in 2025, Ruby Rose, not for music, but she is a standout on this list. Poochistie, Flo Millie is on this, definitely a standout in 2025. Coiler Ray, of course, Tootsie, this is a pretty solid list.
Starting point is 00:02:17 42 Doug, Lekea, all of those artists, I believe, is standing the test of time in 2025. Now, are they chart toppers, of course not. But as far as still getting coverage from major outlets, they are still pretty, prominent in that in that sense. So DDG has a new track titled, That's My Ball. And of course, as he's an influencer himself, the actual marketing strategy for this single has been phenomenal. As you can see right here, I don't want to play the audio because of copyright reasons, but, which I don't think he will copyright me, but you know, as far as being under major conglomerates, which if you don't know, DDG put out, That's My Ball under Sony Music Entertainment. So of course,
Starting point is 00:03:00 just because you know may an artist may be fond of you doesn't mean their major label is right and they may strike it so with ddg this is a promotion and as you can see right here him and india love is back at it as one of the more engaging couples on the internet you know excluding love island of course his goodness gracious that show's going insane but anyways with a ddg india love as you can see right here he has her in this video promotion and he's been putting out all type of promotion before this video for this actual single. This is another clip of him promoting the track. And this time he has sexy red and her friend popping up in the clip.
Starting point is 00:03:39 So I don't know. Why in the world she has a mustache? I don't know if she's trying to be funny. Like, what in the actual? Somebody said, hold on. I think somebody commented that. She got a stash. Let me see.
Starting point is 00:03:48 She got her. Sometimes a low-key. I don't know why she has a stash. I mean, I think she's just putting on a costume. But anyways, at the end of day, here's another clip from DDG promoting. that's my ball and then of course here's ddg showcasing his ultimate influence as far as his track speed off of his album that's out now as far as um blame the chat now this came out may 2nd of 2025 this particular album has 15 tracks 38 minutes and lint so it's not that long but of course when it comes
Starting point is 00:04:22 to a project um he made this exclusively what his chat so that means when he when he says blame the chat he basically means these are the tracks they pick for the album and that came out in may of this year and he's already back again with a new single so as you can tell ddg's having a phenomenal 2025 and of course i forgot that he was on the 2021 double xl freshman list so you come to realize longevity consistency if you really believe in your craft you never know when you can hit the heights because i would say ddg's as hot as he's ever been pause you guys see that's the problem had to pause that one. But as far as DDG engagement-wise, he's at the top, he's towards the top as far as status that he's ever been as far as in his entire career. I would say maybe some of
Starting point is 00:05:12 his prime YouTube engagement, he's up to that level. And of course, everybody remembers his most successful track of all time as far as Moonwalking and Calabas, which earned him double platinum certification. And it peaked at 82 on Billboard. hot 100 we're talking about one of the top tier influences in the world and then shifted over into the music lane because i remember you know i'm a chat you know it's a pg podcast but i'm a i'm a chat homie let me just put it like that so and obviously if you can't tell off the name um academics is a huge influence on me so when it comes to musical coverage he literally said back then he would not cover DDG because he's not a real musician but then you know what I'm saying i was like damn look at the state
Starting point is 00:05:56 of hip-hop like what's going on and then look at it in 2020 after having moon moonwalking and calabasas is going double platinum peaking at number 82 on billboard hot 100 after having his ultimate status solidified by being a part of the 2021 double xl freshman list because what you you know regardless of what you want to say that list is pretty solid as far as the double xl 2021 i already talked about cora ray flow milly push isty 42 dug and that's just some of them like look at the list this year and then look at at five years and you realize that some of these lists do not pan out even in that year some of most of them fall off in that year and i just listed off four from that 2021 freshman class that are still here to this day so when it comes to that um ddg ultimately was not being respected as a musician and now you see him also being nominated for best new heart uh best new hip-hop artist from the bt awards you come to realize that he's now getting his flowers i think overall him being one of the top tier content creators ever him also having music that's topping the charts we're not charts but him
Starting point is 00:07:07 having music that's being impactful to the point where he's putting up respectable numbers as somebody who does a lot of other things a plethora of other things and still having respectable numbers in music specifically there's a lot of artists out here that i haven't trouble selling the first week sales that the DDG had which of course he made fun of but at the end of the day with him playing a whole album on stream over and over and over again and then putting it out on DSPs to the point where people came out and um essentially still bought the album to the point where he sold around 11 000 units first week still respectable because of course he does a lot of other things and people in music only can't put up those numbers first week so it just shows that it well for one shows you how hard it is
Starting point is 00:07:55 to get certain first week numbers, but also shows you that DDG may be one of the top tier content creators of all time. So with that being said, just want to let you know that that's my ball. It's out now on all DSPs. DDG consistently is going through success, success achievements, and they're adding to his overall iconic career in this thing called content career. And so with that being said, click my link tree in my bio. Let me know one of my social medias.
Starting point is 00:08:33 What do you think about DDG's latest single title That's My Ball? And also, what is your favorite track throughout DDG's career? How about y'all list out your top five DDG songs?
