Starting point is 00:00:03 Now, what other platform would you get 1940 slash 1950 type advice as far as from one of the greatest iconic Christmas legends of all time as far as Dean Martin? And here is his very cerebral type of outlook on life, if I do say so, myself. I feel sorry for you people to don't drink. I mean it because when you wake up in the morning, that's as good as you're going to feel old. So of course the crowd was laughing. The crowd was dying. And in general, people were really supporting not only just him as an artist, but also his albums, as far as his tracks, as far as his overall just impact on life and Christmas. You already know that he's probably one of the more pivotal artists when it comes to uplifting the Christmas spirit.
Starting point is 00:01:05 Because when it comes to Let It Snow, I do believe that's probably in my top five as far as best Christmas tracks of all time. So also, when he put his album out, the Dean Martin Christmas album all the way back in the 1940s, 1950s. And then fast forward to 2024 and it's still to this day, well, currently, is the 44th most played album in the world. Now that is a humongish accomplishment, especially for a body of work that came out in the 1950s. Also, on top of that, the track from his album, Let It Snow, Let It Snow, and Let It Snow, Once More, is the 12 most played track in the world currently. So a lot of people are in the Christmas spirit, and essentially covering these Christmas tracks have let me know what people prefer as far as the masses when it comes to specific Christmas
Starting point is 00:02:07 tracks. If you really look at it from an objective standpoint and a consensus, a lot of y'all like Mariah Carey, a lot of y'all like Dean Martin, a lot of y'all like Burrell Ives, I mean, when it comes to the top most consumed Christmas tracks in the world, it's pretty out there and playing this day. Oh, and don't even forget, Jingle Bell Rock from Bobby Helms and Maria Baccarra, believe that's how you said. Essentially, I've started to put my list together on what the masses enjoy as far as Christmas tracks, because looking at the charts, seeing what Christmas tracks topped the charts week after week after week, especially in the month of November and December, you start to get a glimpse on what people like from a totality standpoint. So anyway,
Starting point is 00:02:59 this specific segment obviously is for Dean Martin. So getting back into him, obviously I know it was a while ago that this man was on earth, you know, rest and peace. But as far as his music, it definitely had a lot more longevity. And that's usually what every artist likes as far as putting their product out there and getting some type of acknowledgement. Because this is the ultimate long form acknowledgement as far as this specific artist when it comes to Dean Martin.
Starting point is 00:03:29 Because when he first blew up, and then he first recorded in 1940s, and he first put out his, uh, when he put out his first Christmas hit. And then he followed that out with his 1959, I went to romance and then the 1960s, the Dean Martin Christmas album. Obviously, as you see right now, what people prefer more is the Dean Martin Christmas album that was initially released in 1966. But people still play it to this day because guess what? Somebody has to set the Christmas mood. And as far as nostalgia-like aspects, I don't think it can get more nostalgic than a track that was put out in the 50s or 40s, as far as what people gravitate towards when it comes to Christmas anthems. So with that, when it comes to the track and it comes to the album, there's a lot of things that will stop it from reaching the top of the charts. I mean, one is Mariah Carey, right?
Starting point is 00:04:26 I mean, like, who tops the charts more with Christmas music than Mariah Carey. It's really not too many artists out here doing that. But as far as his, as far as Dean Martin's specific longevity, there's a lot of different Easter eggs that have led to the success of this track, especially back in 2011, when Google basically had a snow animation upon searching lettuce snow, generating a lot of hype for the track, basically letting people know that it is essentially Christmas season. and people are now looking up their favorite Christmas tracks. So Google was like, you know what?
Starting point is 00:05:00 We're going to one up y'all and give y'all an interesting animation whenever you look up, let us know. So that was all the way back in 2011. So it just shows you the type of nostalgia-like factor that's been implemented for the, not beginning of time, but obviously since the 1950s when it first was released. And then if you really talk about some of the greatest Christmas movies of all time when it comes to the masses, And the way that this track led it snowed by Dean Martin was used it. I mean, you had Die Hard 2. Yeah, a lethal weapon.
Starting point is 00:05:33 A lot of different TV shows. I mean, The Simpsons, you know, to get on my hip-hop tip. You know, The Simpsons is something that J-Cold compared Kendrick to. And that was supposed to be a disc, ladies and gentlemen. I kid you not. Anyways, getting off of J-Cold because you already know how I feel about him. As far as the TV shows and the movies and with them having this type of implementation, especially from Dean Martin's discography.
Starting point is 00:05:58 It kind of just lets you know that when you also get covered, well, it kind of just lets you know how respected you are in your music space, when you also are getting covered by legends like a Frank Sinatra, like a Ross Stewart, Carly Simon, Simone, Simon, is one of those. And then, of course, all of those increase the longevity of the original track. Because when somebody does a cover of a classic track, usually nine times a, of 10 people prefer the original because of the nostalgia like factor and the nostalgia like factor that's literally it people prefer older music nine times out of 10 versus what that artist is
Starting point is 00:06:39 currently putting out and that's just something that every artist is going to have to deal with so with that a lot of respect has been putting on dean martin have been put on dean martin's name from google from frank sinatra from movies like da hartooley three a weapon from TV shows like The Simpsons. So overall, when fast forward from 1950s to 2024, when Let us know is the 12th most
Starting point is 00:07:06 played track in the world. And then Dean Martin's the Dean Martin Christmas album is the 44th most played album in the world. You kind of realize that this track is going nowhere and ultimately it's a unwavering
Starting point is 00:07:22 concrete cemented fact that Let It Snow by Dean Martin is, objectively speaking, one of the most consumed Christmas tracks of all time. So with that being said, click my link to you in my bio. Let me know one of my social media is. What do you think about Dean Martin in his latest, well, it's not his latest track? But what do you think about this track, Let It Snow?
Starting point is 00:07:44 And because we're in the holiday Christmas season, y'all see the hat, right? What is your favorite Christmas track of all time?
