Starting point is 00:00:03 Now, safe to say, I may or may not have brought some holy water with me. Shepard. Nah, because I'm letting them know because, safe to say, a lot of y'all should have done the same. As not only did this particular game that we're about to get into sell 66 million. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, those with three sixes back to back to back. 666 million revenue in five days, which is blizzard, blizzards fastest seller of all time, right? And then of course you look at 10 million plus players in June 2023.
Starting point is 00:00:42 And then of course you look at 276 million hours played in the first month. Shepard. No, I got finished. I got finished off my point because it also beat Diablo 3's day one sales. Ladies and gentlemen, this may be Diablo's best game, most impactful game of all time. Now, getting into Diablo for as far as the review and sales round up, safe to say, the revenue is off to charts. And of course, as of right now, 2025, because let me remind you, this game came out June 5th, 2023. Ladies and gentlemen, it is December 19th, 2025.
Starting point is 00:01:27 And guess what? is still the eighth most played game on PlayStation. And not only that is one of the top trending games on Steam as it has 28,000 concurrent players, but a 24-hour peak of 31,000, which of course isn't the greatest numbers compared to the top engaged with games on Steam, but it's doing something to make it appear
Starting point is 00:01:54 on the trending charts for Steam. So if you knew, if you just completely oblivive, to Diablo. Well, first off, you know, hey, God is with you. But if you wanted to learn about Diablo, just know that the development duration took six years post-reaper of souls. And the creative direction was to return to, quote, dark Gothic roots, end quote. It's an open world plus live service focus. And then of course it has crossplay, a shared world and seasonal content mode. Now, the main thing I was going to get at is that it's on game pass. So if you have the ultimate tier, I don't think it's on other tiers, but if you have the ultimate tier, it is on game pass. So if you just want to get it quote unquote for free,
Starting point is 00:02:41 if you already have the game pass, then you can. So one of the continuations of the engagement for this game is based off of installments, future installments that a lot of people call DLC. As Lord of Hatred is releasing April 28th, 2026, and it's going to be multi-platform. So a lot of people, I believe I just showed that as far as a trailer for that specific DLC, analytic dreams video on Spotify to see the video along with the audio. But as far as the DLC, you look at it and you come to say to yourself, oh, I totally get why people still play this game two years later.
Starting point is 00:03:18 Because of course, when you have a live service type of strategy, there's so many live services that's free that you look at this particular game, you're like, I could just play Fortnite. or I could just play Marvel rivals or I could just play other live service games that are for free. I mean, I believe Counter Strike 2 is for free. There's a lot of different games that are for free. That's high quality. So if a Diablo to still have their stature in the video game universe, it's still a sight to behold and definitely a monumental accomplishment.
Starting point is 00:03:49 So as far as the genre, Diablo 4 is an action RPG, more of a hacking slash loot grinder. In the world, it's more of a sanctuary with open world. world with five regions plus vessel of hatred. Nahantu? How in the word you say that? Nahantu. I think I said that right. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:04:07 The core loop is basically killed, loop, upgrade, and then repeat. So that's essentially it. But of course it gets deeper than that. I was just wanted to lay it out in lamest terms. So when we look at the multiplayer, it is a shared open world with four player co-op max.
Starting point is 00:04:21 There's PVP zones, which is optional. And then, of course, you have to have, you know, an online subscription to play it. So when you look at it, as far as the seasons, it's quarterly resets with gameplay twists such as season 11,
Starting point is 00:04:37 the divine intervention and sanctification system, which had gear re-rolls. And it includes free and premium battle passes for cosmetics. So I believe this game is not like a pay-to-win type of game, but of course for cosmetics, if you just want to subscribe to the battle pass, then they have that available for you. Now, when it comes to the unique features,
Starting point is 00:05:00 a lot of things when you look at it as far as the different classes coming later after the game was announced, such as you had the Barbarian right at lunch, right? And then you had the Druid and Necromancer and Rogue and the sorcerer that came out in 2023. But then in 2024, as far as the vessel of hatred, you had the spirit-borne, which was more of a mobile DPS, right? And then of course in 2025, you had a pre-order unlock in the full and Lord of Hatred, which was Paladin.
Starting point is 00:05:35 And that had that character had holy light powers in a place that was divine melee warrior. And of course, for the upcoming DLC, we don't know who they're going to add. But just know, that's essentially the rollout and how they keep people engaged in the specific game. Just think of Marvel rivals and the way they put out characters. I just believe with Diablo Force is not as often. Now, to be devil's advocate, ironically, this game is 26 hours in length if you play the main story. But when it comes to main plus side content, it's basically 50 to 60 hours, 50 to 60 plus hours of exploring because, you know, you could really make, do what you want in this particular game. And of course, you can spend countless of hours just, you know, crafting and honing your skills on this specific game.
Starting point is 00:06:22 Now when you look at the revenue, we already talked about that as far as the lifetime as of September 2024 as 1 billion plus. So safe to say, it has way more than that as of in 2025. But now, when you look at estimated 10 to 25 million copies sold, when you look at the active player base, keeping all of the platforms in consideration being 3.2 million monthly, safe to say, people are continuously coming back to this game, and there's a lot of reasons why. When you look at it from a microtransaction aspect, like I touched on earlier, there's $20 plus dollar cosmetic skins and, once again, it's a $70-based game. So when you look at the pay to, it's like quote-unquote pay to vein.
Starting point is 00:07:09 Now, that's definitely a Diablo sling. I never heard that before. Cosmetic skins, I don't think it's a pay-to-win type of thing. But, you know, maybe they're just making fun of the game being $70 and you charge in $20 for micro-transactions. because of course net ease with Marvel rivals could get away with it because it's a free game fortnight could get away with it because it's a free game but like i keep saying diablo four is not a free live service game so it it does have a lot of competition and you will have people pointing out there certain business practices because of you have a fortnight and you have a counterstrike two you have a
Starting point is 00:07:44 marvels uh games that are free to play that's still high quality and they don't charge as much for micro transactions like Diablo 4 is doing. So with that out the way, I think the main thing is especially for the DLC is what a lot of avid Diablo 4 players want to know about. So when it comes to the DLC, Lord of Hatred expansion coming out April 28th, safe to say,
Starting point is 00:08:08 it's going to have a final battle versus Mephisto. And it's going to be the age of hatred climax. So Lilith returns for a reluctant alliance. Now, I've heard Lilith used a lot. What was the last time? Oh, that was a Marvel Midnight Suns. Huh. Crazy.
Starting point is 00:08:26 I guess Lilith must. I'm not to bring my holy water for real. This time. But anyways, as far as the themes, it's corruption, redemption, and desperation. And a new region is named Scovos, a volcanic coast, storm forest, and ancient ruins. And it's ruled by the Oracle and Amazon Queen. Hmm. So like always said.
Starting point is 00:08:50 You know, when you look at it, you can see why people continuously come back to the game because they're always adding things to this game, such as, let me say the developer's name once again. It's developed by Blizzard, well, develop and published by Blizzard Entertainment. And they've been making Diablo since the original Diablo in 1996. Man, it was putting out Diablo since Michael Jordan was hooper. Okay, so they've had a monumental run. Longevity is not a question for these developers. and they definitely know how to keep people engaged. So switching gears from pocket watching to actual review roundup,
Starting point is 00:09:26 safe to say when you look at the reviews, they've been glowing all across the board. As you have PC gamer giving this game a 90 out of 100 saying, quote, RPG fans have waited for this one for a long time and they won't be disappointed. GameSpot gave it a 96 out of 100, saying, quote, a title that combines the elegant simplicity of an action game
Starting point is 00:09:50 in the addictive storyline of an adventure game with a personalization and exploration of an old school RPG. The best game to come out in the past year and you should own a copy, period. Dang, GameSpot, I got a little sassy with that review. Is it okay? I got my dope on me? You know what I'm saying? Anyways. And then, of course, I was wanting to read
Starting point is 00:10:17 off other ones. Well, that was a great summary of the game. I mean, you know, a lot of people enjoying it. I haven't seen the score lower than 80. So I think when you look at the review round of, a lot of people are really scoring it very high. As I was wanting to get one more game. Well, let's talk about this one.
Starting point is 00:10:38 They gave it 100 of 100. Game Zilla gave it a whopping 100 out of 100. That is crazy. I don't think I've seen that before. GameZilla said, quote, hands down, the best game I've seen in years. Dot, dot, dot. The fantastic design, intuitive gameplay, spectacular, graphics, inspired music, and sound effects, comma. Shear number of monsters and unique items, another comma.
Starting point is 00:11:12 And the free battle.net service put Diablo at, a high level of excellence that future releases may never reach. Shepard, just look at the state of gaming. Like, what is going on? Safe to say Diablo, you know, let the major corporations tell it is a success and a masterpiece on every single level. And when you look at the longevity, when you look at the sales, like we just went over, you look at it still being the eighth most play game on PlayStation,
Starting point is 00:11:44 you can see why people come back time and time again. because not only is the developers, you know, such as Blizzard, continuously adding to the game, but the fan base is continuously adding to the game by coming back and enjoying the game play loop. So, a reminder, this game came out October, 2023, and it's December 2025. Shout to them for longevity.
Starting point is 00:12:10 So that be saying, click my link here in my bio, let me know in one of my social medias. What do you think about Diablo for? And if you're a huge Diablo connoisseur, what is your favorite Diablo game of all time?
