Starting point is 00:00:04 It's time to get into an artist that I've covered before. And this particular artist, of course, is under TDE and just released the track title, Nosebleez is out now on all DSPs for her Grammy win being a new artist in the game. But not only did she not receive new artists of the year. She didn't receive that award. Guess what award, Doche won at her first Grammys. At her first Grammys of all time, Dochey won. Best Rap album.
Starting point is 00:00:38 Now, ladies and gentlemen, because I enjoy covering hip hop, I'm gonna keep my sentiments to myself. All I'm gonna say is, future and metro booming was beyond disrespect at the Grammys. And not only disrespected, but add Nikki along with that, because the disrespect is through the roof
Starting point is 00:01:04 as far as our icons in the hip-hop game giving us bodies of work to keep us entertained as far as hip-hop is considered and getting completely ignored in niki minage's case and of course getting overlooked in future metro boomers case but of course you know this is the big up dochi so those sentiments out the way Dochi currently, well her most popular track currently, is titled Denial is a River. Now that's the, that's the 55th most played track in the world, and it's been on their tracks, it's been on the charts for about four weeks. Now, Doche was also nominated for other categories as far as best new artists and best rap performance as far as her particular track, Nissan Ultima.
Starting point is 00:01:55 now if you know anything about rapping and rappers if they name something like an old beat up vehicle a k a nissan ultima which you know not all ultima's a beat up but let's just say a old vehicle like that because you know rappers love to talk about drop tops and Lamborghinis and bensas right and the stars in the ceiling don't you put out a track called nissan ultima and was nominated for best rap performance all i'm gonna say is When you're a rapper and you name something that's not as luxurious as far as the rapper lifestyle, just know they're about to get some bars off. And that was exactly the case with Doshi as she's probably one of the better rappers I've heard in the past two years as far as the lyrical perspective because I love listening to rappers who have a story to tell that's not about sliding on their ops and spinning a block until there's nowhere to park. right so that being said with that being considered there's a reason why artists like killer mike is the reason why dochi ends up winning these Grammy awards they kind of want to let you know
Starting point is 00:03:03 that hip hop is an art form and it's not just for bragging about the people that you killed in real life that's not what hip hop is for so that is why these awards go to a dochi go to a killer mike so i can't be completely mad at it but i would be doing you a disservice if i did not point out the artist that I believe should have been recognized. But with that being said, let's get back to Dochi as she's the third woman ever to win best rap album, joining the likes of the great Moorne Hill and, of course, the iconic Cardi B. So very elite company to get on my Stephen A tip, pause, as far as talking about the company that Doche has just aligned herself with.
Starting point is 00:03:47 And with that, of course, comes a whole other discussion as far as, Can she follow it up? Because right now, as far as her journey through the music industry, she's currently under TDE. But as far as how long she's been putting out music, let me see where this is. She's been putting out music since, I want to say 2020. Some shows 2019. DSPs have been going crazy in these past two weeks. I don't know what happened to the algorithm.
Starting point is 00:04:18 But anyways, it seems like, yeah, the 2020 of 2019, she started putting out music. And with that being considered, it's very interesting how now she's starting to blow up. But of course, when there's a lot of politics behind the scenes, I think what you can basically attribute to Dolce is preparation, meeting, opportunity, which ended up turning into success with her becoming the third female ever to win the rap album of the year award as far as at the Grammys. Now, when it comes to her musical style, it's an interesting. listen for the simple fact that you have to be going in wanting to hear a story. As far as replayability, I don't know anybody who's going to certain spots with their friends and telling them to throw on that doji, right? But if you want to sit down with a quality body of work and lyrical perspective as far as the way that you put similes
Starting point is 00:05:18 in metaphors together and double and triple entendron. together. I think Dochi is one of the better artists as far as up and coming in the past two years from a lyrical perspective. So that is why I'm not mad at her winning. I'm not mad at all the success she's receiving. And definitely when it comes to her most successful track currently, Denial is a river. I think that's a pivotal track, especially the music video accompanied along with it. If you haven't watched the music video for Denial as a river, I think that's one of the bigger places to start as far as getting a inclination of what dochey represents at the end of the day she's still one of the better rappers i've heard as far as an up-and-coming rapper in the past two years
Starting point is 00:06:03 and i'm interested to see where she takes her career now that she is officially one of the three women ever to win best rap album of the year award at the gramees so that being said click my link in my bio let me know one of my social media is what do you think about dochey as a rapper and ultimately what do you think this is a symbol of as far as dochi's first grammy's ever and her winning best rap album of the year
