Now, of course, we've indulged in Doja Cat multiple times throughout the lifespan of this podcast,
but the latest one was August 5th of this particular year when I talked about Don Tolliver and Doja K and their track,
lose my mind from the F-1 movie.
Now, ladies and gentlemen, when it comes to Lizzo and Doja-K have another track, still can't,
let's just say F-U-H, right?
You know, because this is a PG podcast.
You guys.
See, that's the problem.
And of course, March 21st of this particular year, Jack Harlow and Dojicat tried to give us a hit as far as that particular track, just us.
So a lot of people forget about this, but guess what?
And somebody who covers the entire music industry, guess who's not going to forget.
But then, you know what I'm saying?
I was like, damn, look at the state of hip hop.
Like, what's going on?
And then again, Lisa, Doja Cat, and Ray came out with a track titled Born Again, which, you know, call me, I don't even know what you call it.
Like the pop fan or whatever.
but I like that track.
I actually think that track is fire.
Now, as far as the structure, it's definitely a straight pop track.
But I like the way Doja Cat's rap.
I like a voice.
And ultimately, you know how Central C.
said he's trying to indulge in that?
All right, my fault.
When it comes to 2024,
Scarlett to Claude came out, and that did pretty well.
But I'm just talking about my coverage as far as Doja Cat.
Now, when it comes to, as of right now,
she has a fifth studio album titled V,
Is that you say it? Hold on. I don't even know how to pronounce it. I'm not even going to let
you. And then it stands for French for Life, but we are going to figure out how to pronounce this.
We're going to ask Jarvis right quick so y'all can get the actual pronunciation of her album.
V. French for Life. Ah, it's Vi. That's how you know I'm not French. So anyway, her fifth studio
album titled Vi, which ultimately means French for Life and the schedule for release on September 26th of this year.
ultimately if you look at your
your local DSP you know what I'm saying
September 26
is well already has
the date up there as far as the upcoming album
and you can pre-save it or pre-order on Apple
and it seems like it's
15 tracks but we still don't know yet
the first single is jealous type that came out
this past Thursday
when it comes to that particular track of course you know
with my name analytic dreams you know he had a dive into
the analytics
So as far as future chart predictions slated for September 6th,
Doja Cat's track, jealous type, is set to be the 39th most played track in the world.
So it's doing well.
I think it's performing well.
Now, is it phenomenal?
Of course not, because right now, I don't see it on the charts at all.
Now, it just came out this past Thursday.
So you have to give it some time, right?
It's not enough time to say if it's a flop or not.
Looking at the future chart predictions, safe to say that the track is doing well
and it's going to debut in the high to mid 40s.
And with that being said, I think with Dojiket's track, Panta Town Red,
a lot of these singles are going to underperform as far as being compared to her.
So as far as just comparing it to the current landscape of hip hop,
it's not a lot of chart topping tracks or albums.
Besides Gunna, shout out to him for currently having the fourth most play album in the world.
There's not a lot of hip hop tracks in the top 10, top five, as far as singles or
albums right so looking at the current landscape of hip hop it's very it's very hard to find a top
10 top five hit that's going to have some staying power as a hip hop musician size 7 was doing it
all the gnx tracks just disappear from the charts i don't know what happened and y'all may think
it's just because my favorite artist is drake but if you look at it all the tracks that are on the
charts is literally with scissor all the tracks from kensig lamar is gone except for the ones with
with Siza.
30 for 30 is the 38th most played track in the world,
and Luther is the 21st most play track in the world.
So across the board,
I'm not just putting this on side seven,
I'm just saying he was the top performer
at the beginning of this year,
but like I keep saying,
all of them just disappear like Houdini from the charts.
I don't know if he didn't pay the bots again.
All right, my fault.
So anyways, as far as Doja Cap,
I do believe she has slated to have a pretty good first week.
Now, usually, when it comes to first week sales,
I try not to give my
because we're like a month out right
yeah we'll like a month out a little
under a month out
I think it's not enough time to see how jealous type is doing
to see if it's going to be
what's the album going to do so I'm not going to speculate on that
but I will talk about her first week as far as the last album
because I think she did pretty well
so Scarlett sold 72,000 first week
now that was very interesting to me because
of Paint the Town Red
Pants of Town Red was on Scarlet, right?
Let me make sure.
So going through her discography, let me see.
Scarlet.
Was it Scarlet?
I think it was Scarlet.
Anyways.
Yeah, okay, yeah, Pants of Town Red was on Scarlet.
So I was thinking it was going to do at least six figures.
They ended up doing 72,000 first week, which is still phenomenal, but it just definitely
showcase how Pants of Town Red took a life in itself.
And it didn't really translate to the album.
So as far as this particular track, Jealous Type, I would be interested to see if,
if it's the opposite, right?
It being projected to be in the top 40s
as far as the most popular tracks,
that's impressive.
But Painted Town Red was like top five for like months.
So I want to see if this is the opposite
or if it's another false indicator
of how the album's going to perform, right?
So I do believe she should sell vinals.
I'm not saying go out and do all the tricks
that Travis Scott be doing as far as turn into the black ace,
you know, right?
But I will sell vials and try to package this with multiple variant covers so that your fans, your super fans will want every cover.
I usually don't even give advice like this.
But for Doja Cat, I do believe her talent and her voice cannot go unnoticed.
And y'all going to think I'm glazing.
But nobody, I mean nobody listened to this one track last year more than me.
I think it was 2024.
uh shame this plug my link tree in my bio at the very bottom i have what i'm listening to and i literally
have the playlist so so fresh fire 2024 i think it was 2024 let's find that we can find out right now yep
all right so the j-zoo track is j-e-e-e-z-u with james samuel the track that had that one actor um
that one actor narrows it down right um who's that man's name i forget his name ain't gonna lie
I think is that what his name was James Samuel or was that director?
That was the director.
The book of Clarence, whoever starred in that movie.
Actually, I got to get his name now because he actually stood out to me.
The book of Clarence actor.
Lekeith Stanfield.
Yeah, okay, so he was starring in that movie.
I think that was criminally underrated.
But, you know, some people didn't even like it for the simple fact that it was playing off of religion, right?
Which, you know, I can understand.
But anyways, that's what I was the point.
The main thing I was wanting to say was that track was one of the
my favorite tracks of 2024. I think what Doja Cat did on that track, G. Zhu,
off of that, the Book of Clarence album soundtrack, was phenomenal. One of the best verses I've
heard in 2024. Not in a minute and of all time, so don't kill me. But in 2024,
that was one of the best hip-hop verses that I've heard delivered and everything like that.
Because I always say consistently that women, women are the best singers. Like, objectively speaking,
and I think women are just made to be better singers than us, right?
As far as rapping, they always get the short end of the stick.
Even Nikki.
Nikki dominated the game for so long, and they still put her in that box.
Doja Cat, I think she has a very interesting case of being one of the more
lyrically inclined rappers in the game currently that's also doing commercial numbers.
But, of course, you know, I said the same thing about Nikki and people kill me on TikTok.
I was like, dang, y'all like Nikki's music?
It was like, no.
I was like, dang, what a bar is out on TikTok?
So anyways, I think Doja Cat's going to do well.
That's essentially all I have for that.
So Doja Cat, Jealous Type is out now and her album, which is titled, once I pull all my
playlist away, her album, which is titled V-Ve, I think I got, yeah, they, that comes out
September 26, 2025 on all DSPs.
So with that being said, click my link, tree, in my bio, let me know one of my social medias.
What do you think about Doja Cat's latest?
single jealous type and when you be getting doja cat's album vade when it comes out september 26 of this year
