Now I love getting into talented musicians because that way when we get into the
underwhelming overall first week projections we could still focus on their talent
because of course with Don Tolliver any big musician in the industry currently in the
hip-hop space has used Don Tolliver's melodies samples just sonics to uplift their
quality in a way that makes you believe that they
Don Tolliver is the one who is the quote unquote secret sauce.
It's almost like as if he's the little Yadi for all the melodic rappers.
Because it seems like whenever he touches a track, a project, and helps out as far as on his end, everybody seems to really enjoy his addition to whatever they currently just made.
But anyways, the specifics that we'll get into with this segment is his,
latest single deep in the water and the reason why i want to focus on this one is because
2021 life of dawn sold around 68 000 first week but his latest album love sick which came out
february 24th 2023 sold around 38 000 first week so you know there's a pretty big gap between
68 and 38,000 first week in the span of what two years so some would say he's falling off but
i think honestly with the way that don't tolliver is going in his life like outside of the music
it's probably in a way that helps him get back to being focused as far as already having a child
because obviously it takes a lot of focus off you in the first place so now that he's had the child
with the one and only
Callie Uches, I believe.
I don't want to get her name mistaken.
Yeah, because Callie Uch is announced
on her Instagram, I believe,
mid-January, alongside the release of her album
that I also reviewed Arquitas or Acadus.
I don't know.
But just look up analytic dreams or Qaeda's.
If you can, you know what I mean?
If you can spell that, you know what I'm saying?
Just type in Calli Uch's analytic.
You know what I mean?
But anyways,
Don Tolliver, I feel like,
would be focused back on the marketing side
of things because obviously having a significant other while also bringing a child into the world
probably means that you really don't care about you know selling your product like that because
you actually have things going on outside of the music so that is why i wanted to touch on that
situation because it's track deep in the water i believe to be the one to propel him into his next
album quality wise of course because it's don tulliver and statistically speaking because
basically bandit which was let me see if i could find it so the the previous single bandit debuted in the
top 40 on billboard's hot 100 and that was the cover with him in the motorcycle ride and a custom jacket
it but deep in the water is obviously the follow up to that and his album love sick is already in the
past i don't think anybody's going to bring it up as far as statistically speaking because quality
wise everybody enjoys it so now when we get into what this new album's going to accomplish i think
it's going to be even bigger i don't know if people really knew about his relationship with callie ushers
i think it was just one of those things under the radar until they came out with the
the, you know, when Callie Uchus came out with the pregnancy announcement, like mid-January.
So it was recent.
I mean, we're only in March.
So it was recent when she announced that they was having a kid.
So I think more and more people are starting to get enlightened to the fact that he and
Cali Uchus is together because I don't even think that was a well-known fact.
But now with the baby and him being able to.
get back into his craft, I think the sales would be more of a focus and a marketing tactics
would be more on point. Because with Love Sick, I think that album was phenomenal. Like the type of
album you can make and break it down. And also it's the way you break down music. The way that
Don Tolliver was talking about Love Sick, just being a concept album of everybody in that bar,
what they're going through individually and the music videos to follow along with that theme,
I think it was just masterful on like sticking to a concept and executing it.
But, I mean, this is the same guy who made heaven and hell, Donnie Wormack, Life of Dawn.
And to this day, the track with, I'm trying to find that one, the track with Cuevo and offset titled Had Enough is still one of my favorite tracks to this day.
So, and that came out, when did this come out?
That came out back in COVID.
So that was April 17th, 2020.
So obviously, you know, four years into the future, and that track is still one of my favorites.
So anyways, Don Tolliver is always somebody not to be messed with in the quality aspect.
But statistically speaking, hopefully he can replicate what he did on Life of Dawn.
And I have been replicated with 68,000 sales first week, but hopefully he can increase those to maybe an 80 push.
I can see with the right type of promotion.
but hey time only tell how this album will end up because right now we're only left with the single out now in all dspe's deep in the water via atlantic records so click my link here in my bio let me know in one of my social medias what do you think about don tolliver's latest single deep in the water and are you anticipating a don tolliver album for 2024
