Starting point is 00:00:03 Now, of course, I already covered Don Tolliver's latest track titled Tyra Miss You. Hopefully I'm saying that right. But of course, as of October 28, 2025, Don Tolliver came out with an album title and fifth studio album under the album title. I don't know if this is a shirt. I don't know what this is. What is this? This shirt or beanie. Whatever this is.
Starting point is 00:00:32 It's too big for me. not big but you know i don't know what this is i think it's a shirt anyways basically don't tulliver has announced a new album um we don't know when it's going to come in out but officially we know the next album title as it says fifth studio album if you look at don't tolliver i love when they say fifth studio album because uh one two three four five six seven okay so if you add that the deluxe it's technically seven which you know they never count deluxe as another project which I don't know why could you put like six seven projects but anyways I mean six seven tracks so when it comes to Don Tolliver in general he's not the biggest superstar but of course he definitely
Starting point is 00:01:11 does respectable numbers as um his career first week sales the most impressive to me is his latest with hardstone cycle that sold 77,000 first week so it seems like he's on the up and up now of course to be fair life of dawn in 2021 did 68 000 first week and then you had love sick do 40,000 So when it comes to recognition, I think what I say all the time when it comes to quality and recognition is very applicable to Don Tolliver. Just because you sell a lot does not mean you're making the highest quality. And just because you don't sell does not mean you're making straight up trash. The two do not correlate. So now you look at Don Tolliver, I believe he's a immensely talented individual, especially from a musical standpoint.
Starting point is 00:01:55 I mean, what was the track with Cuevo on Heaven for Hell? had enough i'm not being dramatic when i say this i think had enough is one of the greatest tracks i've ever heard in life when it comes to the melodic factor there's few people who have given this like compliment to as far as having melodic elements on lock one maybe a little left field and y'all probably won't even uh think that i'll say this name but it's a little teca little teca don't tolliver the most of the melodic elements that they bring into every single beat, y'all gonna call it glazing. You guys.
Starting point is 00:02:33 But the main thing is noticing and highlighting how these two artists is some of the best at having melodic melodic elements that drives engagement, especially from a core standpoint. Because now people are coming to them to see what type of melody they're going to use on whatever beat. because you never get the same flow. It's never the same cadence. They're always switching it up to the point where it's always a great listen whenever you listen to these two specific artists. That's what I always say. Just because you sell a lot does not mean you make the highest quality,
Starting point is 00:03:10 but just because you don't sell does not mean you make absolute trash. When it comes to Dr. Tolliver, I feel like he should be a bigger artist in the landscape of music. But I guess people aren't just flocking to his music like that. Also, another thing, I think I was, comes like. looking this up earlier. I don't want to get the name wrong as far as who he's with, but I believe I believe he just had a child, right? Hopefully I'm not getting him confused with somebody else. It was, I'll make sure it's the right person. Okay, I don't know if it's the right person, but I believe it's Calli Uches. Now, if it's not Calli Uch's, just no. I'm sincerely, sorry,
Starting point is 00:03:51 because I've covered Calli Uch's a lot. So I want to say it was heard, but I don't know why I just blinked on the name. Okay, there's Calli Uch's. I'm tripping, yeah, because over here we've cover Calli Uch's as well a bunch of times because y'all enjoy like a lot of different covers as far as some music industry so I appreciate that but last time we talked about Cali Uch's it was September 12th of this year and then we talked about Calli Uch's and Raven Lanay as far as the track cry about it but sincerely P.S. I think was her album that we got into and she just does a lot of numbers like as far as her 24th city arena tour that Kylie Uch's was on as far as this year safe to say that she's one of the more clamored for artists in society.
Starting point is 00:04:30 So I would go out on the limb and probably say Kelly Uch's and Don Tolover is probably one of the bigger power couples as far as the music industry. Obviously, I know like Jay-Z or Beyonce, not that level. I was talking about up and coming power couples in the music industry. I think they're up there with the likes of, actually, I can't think of a lot of them. Anyways, but that means that, the main thing I was wanting to get to
Starting point is 00:04:55 along with the album title announcement octane is that we don't know when the next single is going to come because i would assume that tyra missu if i'm saying the name right tyra missu i would assume that is a single for this album now if it's not then of course he has a lot of other things that's not singles that can help him out whether it's the dojicad track lose my mind from the f1 movie whether it's the track with j hope from BTS, LV bag, even though his last album Hardstone Cycle was his most successful first week outing, I would assume he's
Starting point is 00:05:28 looking to increase that, especially for whenever this album comes out. So the marketing strategy, I think needs a hit single. Maybe it doesn't, but to overtake Hardstone Cycle in 77,000 first week, I think that's
Starting point is 00:05:44 going to need a hit single to drive more engagement to your album. Because it seems like your core I could be off, but it seems like your core is 40 to 55. That's what it seems like. Your lowest was 40, your highest of 77. I would say your core is 40 to 45. Now, you also have to keep in mind that Don Tolliver
Starting point is 00:06:03 is under Cactus Jack Atlantic Records Group. Oh, hold them now. I know they ain't Jack Quees Webster. All right, so if you're under Cactus Jack, it's safe to say, Jack Queen knows a lot of different ways to, you know, rigged the system, allegedly. But then, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:06:22 I was like, damn, look at the state of hip hop. Like, what's going on? So now if you're under Jack Kreeze-Webster, I'm pretty sure he can help you on in a plethora of areas. So now, I believe, I don't know if you were, you know, doing more than 77,000 in your first week. That's kind of tough.
Starting point is 00:06:38 But with the help of Travis Scott, because how many times was he on Hardstone Cycle? Let me see. Travis Scott was on here. One, two. he's on here twice okay okay man this man got features on his album that's crazy you know man you may have to
Starting point is 00:06:56 pull it you know third times of charm you may have to be on that next album three times because Travis Scott does drink drive a lot of different eyes to projects so I just think you need a hit honestly if I was just to give actual advice I would say you need an actual hit because the only chart
Starting point is 00:07:13 charting track that I saw from Don Tolliver was a track with low shimmy I don't even know who that the track 3 a.m. Lowe's Shemey and that's featuring Don Tolliver. So technically that's low Shemey's track. But I believe that's the only, not I believe, objectively speaking,
Starting point is 00:07:29 that's the only track that Don Tolliver has in the Hot 100. And of course he's not, as far as his album, he's not in the top 50. But then, interestingly enough, you look at Kali Uchers. And now you see Kali Uchers. Granted, you could say it's because of a variety of scientists who's having a phenomenal, one of the best.
Starting point is 00:07:48 R&B years as far as in just a year specifically having one of the best R&B statistical performances with a single song. Her and Kalani were folded. The main thing I was going to say,
Starting point is 00:08:04 as Mariah the scientist's track, is it a crime is the 58th most played track in the world and that's feature in Kali Uches? So now, when you're looking at it from that standpoint, yeah, I don't know. I still don't think, because I was going to say like throw Kelly Uchis at least multiple times on your on your next album.
Starting point is 00:08:22 But I think that may be a wave. I'm just thinking solely of doing more numbers first week than Hardstone Psycho. Because now you're getting towards the six-figure range, $77,000 first week, or $70,000 whatever first week with Hardstone Psycho being your biggest. And that was your last album that came out last year. So follow that up. Yeah, I'm not seeing Kelly Uch's anywhere on this album. I mean, she had a baby, so I mean, that was probably why.
Starting point is 00:08:50 I would assume Don Tolliver and Calliucci's have a track together, right? Don Tolliver. Oh my goodness, I spell this name. Man name. Don Tolliver. There we go. Went to college for a reason. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:09:03 Anyways. Drugs and, oh, this is a PG podcast. We're just going to say, hell like the location. Drugs in Hella melodies. So that's a song that Don Tolliver and Callowice have together. And of course, they have another track titled For Me. uh don tolliver and the caliuchess once more so i think those are the only tracks they have so she's appearing on his album before because of course i think she's doing him a favor i ain't a lot to you
Starting point is 00:09:30 um i do believe objectively speaking caliuchess is bigger than don't tolliver so those are only two tracks i can see oh no i'm tripper and then they have fantasy and that's callowice uh and don't tolliver interesting interesting and then they have i know that's the same one okay so yeah those are only two tracks so as far as don tulliver and cali ooch's being a couple they have drugs and hella melodies for me and in their fantasy so anyways i think she's a bigger artist in don tulliver i would get her on your next album i know she just had a kid um so you know i mean if you if you can you know if you can if you can swing a feature from callie uches i think that'll help anyways octane is don't
Starting point is 00:10:17 on to all of his next album i kind of try to uh brainstorm to give him some you know advice as far as you know uh engagement i think when it comes to quality he he does phenomenal especially his harmonies is top-notch when it comes to engagement is that's another thing like i feel like Travis guy helps out a lot when it comes to the marketing factor so hopefully you can mix Travis guy and Calli Uches and drive more eyes to your project but regardless i'm gonna be there whenever uh octane So that being said, click my link tree in my bio. Let me know on one of my social media is, what do you think about Don Tolliver announcing his album, Octane's,
Starting point is 00:10:58 his fifth studio album. We assume it's set to come out this year, but, you know, what do you think about his announcement for his album Octane?
