Starting point is 00:00:00 A average fan is probably perplexed on how this came about, but look no further than here, because I'm about to break it down, and I'm basically going to let you know that we should have been received a Drake and Central Sea collab way back in 2021 when they first met up because of Drake, of course, the goat, knowing talent when he sees it, reaching out the Central Sea over social social media just to show his appreciation for the way that Central C has been taking his UK status because nowadays being an independent artist means that the numbers you put up compared to the numbers that people on major labels put up is vastly different and Central C is the first artist I've seen I mean amongst others
Starting point is 00:00:56 but he's one of the bigger artists I've seen to really make an impact solely being independent. So whenever he signs a major label, which I believe he's signed to, he just signed to a major label. I wonder if it was UMG. Let me see. Because in general, he's been independent for or throughout his career, which is why somebody like Drake probably reached out to him to try to sign him on OVO. But yes, okay, I knew this was recent.
Starting point is 00:01:29 So last month of this year, he just signed, well, reportedly, up to $25 million contract with Columbia Records. So Central C signed to Columbia Records last month for what is reported to be $25 million. Now, as an independent artist, for him to have this much impact when he just signed a major label just last month, You could probably understand why Drake, out of all people, reached out to him in 2021. He was trying to be that early person that hopefully, kind of like in the Ice Spice situation, he could have had at least one song under some sort of OVO tag. But that didn't happen, but it seems like Central C and Drake are still on good terms, as they are collabing, not for a track or not for a project, but for a freestyle.
Starting point is 00:02:27 on, well, that's called on the radar. And it's set to be released soon. Drake already teased his freestyle on his Instagram, basically saying, quote, a little exercise on an off day, basically because you know he's on tour. So you can't really do too much. But apparently he found time to freestyle
Starting point is 00:02:49 with none other than the UK superstar in Central Sea. And yes, I'm saying a superstar, even though you probably saw him on the cover of double excel but look no well you have to look deeper on then what's on the surface there's a reason why he's not in any of any of the ciphers and there's a reason why he didn't give a freestyle he looked around and realized these people are not my peers and he decided to skip out on all that so as you can probably tell he's on a double excel cover but he is not in the notorious ciphers that usually all the artist who's on the cover end up doing.
Starting point is 00:03:26 So, and with that, Drake and Central C, well, no, Drake also isn't a new to freestyle. And of course, you know, his notorious freestyle when he first started with the Blackberry. I don't think anybody ever lets him let that down because imagine a rapper nowadays going up, because we already know what's written. Like, we don't care if it's written. We just, the least that we ask is that you put your phone away and act like you freestyle like the way that he pulled out his phone and freestyle for the first time ever when he like gave a freestyle for the first time ever like literally look it up drake blackberry
Starting point is 00:04:03 free style is so notorious to this day because who in the world told him it was a good idea to read off his bars from his phone but that's besides the point drake of course has gotten better since then and he's done a freestyle in the past or he did a freestyle in the past um titled behind bars in 2019 that I think as far as the flow was probably one of the more unique freestyles I've ever heard Drake Giff. It was really, I'm going to say inspiring because the freestyle, of course, was inspired by UK type of rap, which makes his even more, makes his Central Sea collab make even more sense because the way that he wraps in general is not the way he wraps on behind bars and especially when he's trying to get his UK bars off like if i had to go through
Starting point is 00:04:53 drake's discography you will obviously tell when he's trying to do a UK impression like it's vastly different from when Drake's normally rapping so as far as my favorite like UK flows from Drake i would probably say it was off of was it Dark Lane's demo let me see think of a Dark Lane demo yeah demons I like that one. I thought that was pretty fire with Favio Forrin. Because, of course, if you're going to steal like a UK drill-type beat and rap in their type of pattern, might as well get one of the notorious drill rappers on there as far as Favio Forren.
Starting point is 00:05:33 And then he also, he did another UK freestyle, but I forget where it was or what it was called. But Demons was definitely to stand out for me as far as just him attacking that rap pattern in the way that he did. But that's besides a point. The song's not like great or just amazing. It's just one of those who I noticed that he was definitely trying to go for that UK flow. So anyways, Drake, Central C, collabing for on the radar freestyle. Of course they didn't give you a release date, of course. But they said it's coming out soon.
Starting point is 00:06:03 And in rapper terminology, that can literally mean whenever they feel like putting it out. But hopefully it comes out by the actual definition of soon and we can hear it. And hopefully it's fire. I mean, I can already tell that this is probably a play off of the double Excel cipher because if you think about it, the ciphers just came out and now Central C. Central C is teasing his own freestyle with Drake. It's one of those things where you have to look behind the scenes. It's always a marketing play and it's very, it's more simple than you probably would think. It's not as complex.
Starting point is 00:06:41 They see he declined to do the double XC. freestyle and cyphers. And the second that those actually came out, now he's teasing a freestyle with none other than one of the greatest hip-hot musicians ever. Coincidence? I think not. So anyways, click my link to you in my bio.
Starting point is 00:07:00 Let me know in one of my social medias. What do you think about Drake and Central Sea collaborating for this on-the-radar freestyle? And do you think it would be fire? Or actually, now it feels going to be fire or trash because it's the goat. Like, come on now. Who do you think would have the better verse?
Starting point is 00:07:15 Drake or Central C.
