Starting point is 00:00:03 Getting into my favorite artist of all time, no ditty, we have to talk about Drake and his accomplishments when it comes to his pen. Because of course, currently the landscape is that, well, the general consensus is that Drake can't write a good record to save his life. So I brought something up, right? I just want you all to go with me because, of course, we try not to do fake news over here. and notorious mass effect so i just want you all to look up this information with me just to make sure i'm correct with it you know what i'm saying so you know go to go to your local dspy you know what i'm saying on your phone your cellular device let's type in biance and let's scroll all the way down to her album renaissance because there's a specific track i wanted to pinpoint as far as just you know
Starting point is 00:00:56 crediting drake for the goat that he is and so let's go to this track titled heated by biance say let's click the little three dot icon you know bring up more information about that specific track let's go to song credits and then we go to written by and then for some reason it says a dot gram last time i checked i think that was drake's government name so as far as bringing up receipts all the way back in 2022 which a lot of people deal with jumbo track you know the jumbo popping track talking about how Yaddy had a whole reference for Drake and Drake just changed a couple of lines. Let's talk about how Drake has a whole searchable reference track for Heeded and Beyonce sung that word for word. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:01:49 It's like I don't think the same energy is kept for R&B artists simply for the fact that writing is a little bit more pivotal when it comes to hip hop. Because your ability to put words together is judged on a scale that's not the same as an R&B artist. So with that being said, only reason I brought that up was to be petty. But just to let you know that Drake's pen is obviously regarded as far as high quality when it comes to his peers or else he would not be writing on a Beyonce album. I mean, Beyonce gets the best of the best to write on her albums. I mean, we're talking about the dream, talking about Raphael Sadiq, talking about a lot of other people who attribute to her sound as far as writing. Drake is just on that list as premier writers in the game, which is why he was coveted enough to have a complete track
Starting point is 00:02:44 where he wrote for, referenced, and gave to Beyonce, one of the biggest superstars in the world. So that's why I wanted to touch on this track because I think a lot of people got it messed up when we're talking about the goat. Like, becoming the greatest ever in a particular sport where millions of dollars are garnered from it, I don't think it's given enough credence
Starting point is 00:03:10 because LeBron James and Michael Jordan are the tops of their professions and you've seen how much money you can make now being the top in your profession. And they're the top dog to ever do it as far as Michael Jordan, LeBron, respectively. Nobody has ever come into LeBron talking about, oh, he had help on his hand, handled. He had help on his hook shot. He had help on his jumper. Like the sport of hip hop is very interesting because a lot of people have help when creating music. But the totality of performing it and marketing yourself goes a long way as far as being able to adapt and evolve with the times. And I think Drake's being discredited for his sole ability to do that. And I think that's just
Starting point is 00:03:58 very interesting and it's not just because i'm a drake fan i mean you know it's a little bit it's a little bit of it you know i mean it's a little portion of why i point out these things but also when we're talking about having conversations it has to have some type of validity and a lot of people just throwing you know what at the wall and hoping it sticks so bringing up receipts from 2019 regarding the whole mob ties reference track by vorey bringing up the whole jumbo's stuff Poppin reference from Lil Yati. If we're talking about lyrically inclined tracks where he's talking about his life, like 4 p.m. at Calabasas, Western Road flows,
Starting point is 00:04:40 5 a.m. in Toronto, things of that nature. Like, Drake has pinned 100% of the tracks that you think puts him on that level of the greatest rappers ever. So if I've never, if I ever hear a reference track for a time, timestamp Drake record, then we can revisit the conversation. But obviously his pen is regarded with the highest of the highest as far as writing and putting together great tracks or else he wouldn't be writing solely for Beyonce, right? Or not solely, but he wouldn't be writing a entire track for Beyonce.
Starting point is 00:05:20 So that's basically it. I just wanted to be petty. Since we throwing reference tracks up, you know what I'm saying, to discredit the goat. I want to throw up a reference track to credit the goat and just, you know, talk about how, you know, great he is. You know what I mean? Because, I mean, even with all this publicity about him and his downfall, you know, as far as trajectory, he still has three songs in the top 100 and he hasn't even put out a whole project. So if we're talking about somebody with multiple tracks in the top 100,
Starting point is 00:05:53 still one of the most successful tracks in the world. I mean, one of the most successful artists in the world. I think he was like number seventh last time I checked. But this is with the whole entire industry going at him. So I think he's definitely the undisputed champion when it comes to taking the bullets for certain things that all of his peers get help from. You know what I mean? It's like in a sports league where everybody, using steroids and you're the only one getting pointed out for using them that's basically what
Starting point is 00:06:28 this whole fiasco is with the uh the writing allegations so anyways that's all i wanted to touch on at the end of day drake's the goat be all hating and i'm a drake fan so people are just going to say i'm caping for drake but hey i'm cool with it so with that being said click my link tree in my bio let me know one of my social medias what do you just what do you think about the overall legacy of Drake right now and do you think it would be affected by the whole industry in the mama going at this man's head top
