Starting point is 00:00:00 Track number four off of some sexy songs for you is titled Crying and Chanel. Now, I will admit, this is the first track where I feel like it could have benefited from a different direction, but only for the first half. I feel like the second half could have been its own song entirely, but the first half, I'm not going to say it was experimental. I just think the vibe and the rhythm was a little different versus the first three tracks. I would say this is probably more of a misstep, which is crazy because this is the ultimate highlight they used before the album came out, which is why. I'm not going to say people weren't hype for a Drake album because it's Drake. But I'm just saying like when they first put out the party next door sample and then they put out the crying and Chanel sample, people weren't really moved by that. But the main thing is that crying against Chanel being the main snippet for this album after listening to the album.
Starting point is 00:01:00 I don't know if they were just trying to lower expectations to blow it out of the water, but after listening to all these songs, y'all already know that Nokia snippet or the, the give me a hug snippet could have easily been the thing that sent it over to the masses as far as the masses being more engaged. But I don't know why they went with crying Chanel as far as the actual snippet before this album actually came out. but now that we have an in-depth listen, well, in-depth view of it as far as the full track. I believe it was more of a misstep, but it's still a good song.
Starting point is 00:01:39 I just think in the totality of the body of work, we're always going to look at it as not as top-tier quality as the other tracks. So I think this is more of the misstep, it's more of a misstep, I think. And it's funny because it's the first track with Solie Drake. And we're going to get to some of the tracks with Solie Drake that just added his world as far as the album's considered. But for the main portion of Crying and Chanel, I think it was just more of a misstep. And the second half, I think just it should have been its own song. And that's why sometimes switching the beat and finding a whole different chorus to go along with it could be detrimental to the overall track because now the entire track is viewed in one. And just because
Starting point is 00:02:22 he liked the second half, what if they don't want to put up with the first half of Cryne and Chanel, right? So it's still a good track, obviously. But, as far as the totality of things, I think it's not as high quality as the rest of the body of work. Now, when it comes to solo Drake tracks, this is our first one. So this is track four off of the 21 track album. This is the first solo Drake track out of one, two, three, four, five, we have five, six. So we have
Starting point is 00:02:53 six solo Drake songs, which is a lot in itself. this is the first one and so the rest of them I'm not gonna lie you just got to buckle up because some of these tracks come in and just instantly
Starting point is 00:03:09 you can tell that it's going somewhere but crying as you know more of a misstep I think the second half was better and should have been his own song so with that being said we're going to get into the track number five where they go back into the stratosphere
Starting point is 00:03:23 as far as just giving us straight heat with Spider-Man Superman.
