Starting point is 00:00:00 Drake is the type of guy to say, give me a hug and actually make it a hit. Ladies and gentlemen, I didn't seen it all because any other rapper I think would have been crucified for this type of title and, of course, the sentiments that went throughout the track. Now, give me a hug is a bona fide hit. I think this is one of the top quality tracks off of this album. And I already, off of first impressions, I'm going to have to take some time and really rank this in his description. because this is some next level sequencing that I'm experiencing as far as this particular album. Now, when it comes to give me a hug and his sentiments, there's a lot of things that he says on the album that is obviously attributed towards side seven.
Starting point is 00:00:50 I mean, white tank top, I mean, man, I forget his name all the time. Anyways, y'all get who I'm talking about, right? So when he talks about Nemo. in the ocean small fish making kids feel emotion who do y'all think he's talking about when he's talking about using you for what talking about him he's telling y'all that side seven is using him for promotion and he follows that up with truer words have never been spoken people want to see me on a rip people want to see rip me on a t-shirt like i'm hoke hogan I appreciate the fans rocking with me.
Starting point is 00:01:33 This is really just a small token. And ladies and gentlemen, that is when he took off. You know how they say Houston, we have a problem? It's exactly the opposite because this is a bona fide hit. This is probably going to be one of the better Drake tracks as far as this particular year. Because the way that he came on this track paused and gave us the sentiments of how he feels about the overall battle, how he feels about Kendrick and the way that he just has girls
Starting point is 00:02:04 that he's going to have girls twirking with the dictionary if he ends up leaving the game is basically talking about how there's two lanes and music. There's one where you can get across a message and it's more like conceptual and things of that nature and there's a other one where you're just trying to have fun, listen to something that sounds good and also give you some bars in between
Starting point is 00:02:23 and Drake falls on that side. But of course, when it comes to both sides, I believe they both needed. So with him saying that, I don't fully agree with the way he went about that. But as far as the using kids and making you feel emotion, I think that's very, very pivotal for Drake to say because at this point, where is the actual proof from Kendrick making a bona fide pedified epify anthem against Aubrey with no proof, right?
Starting point is 00:02:54 Nobody talks about it because it's one of the more popular tracks. in the world but still we have to point it out that it is indeed a pedophile anthem because he has no facts to bring it up and especially in this me too era of hip hop with p diddy being locked up you would think if somebody came out you would have to assume people would be on her side because of what side seven i mean a white tank top said right so anyways track 10 give me a hug is I don't know how far is going to rise on the charts because like I keep saying, when it comes to Drake versus UMG, they have beef that is unsettled to the point where the lawsuit, we never know what's going to happen in the midst of it. But we do know that UMG is very upset. So the promotional marketing for this album is going to be pretty limited.
Starting point is 00:03:48 And the way that they're going to try to lower the overall exposure of this album is going to be seen by the masses to the point where I can see this album ended up being. one of Drake's worst selling albums of all time. So with that being said, this being a hit definitely helps out because on the quality side, people are acknowledging that Drake, not only are Drake and part next door giving us straight classics, but Drake is also giving us some sentiments that we can vibe to and basically champion as Drake's return to the rap game. Because of course, him being the hip-hop caring, him being the blue collar snitch, sending lawsuits after losing rap battles, immediately excluded him from the rap genre.
Starting point is 00:04:34 Now that he's coming back with these hard-hitting raps, it's still, well, no, because it's still hard to ignore the lawsuits. That's actually very egregious in the stance of you engaging in a rap battle and then suing somebody because you lost. It's like unheard of. So give me a hug. I think it's going to help from a quality standpoint, but from person, personal. reception and then of course the elephant in the room with him suing UMG we'll have to see what
Starting point is 00:05:02 it ends up as far as on the charts and of course billboard will ultimately be to be decided by umg because they are unequivocally the big dogs in the music industry if you don't know they have 64% of the entire music market share currently and the top artists are the weekend kentrick kumar billy isleish chapel rowan shabrena carpenter morgan wall and taylor swish you get what i'm saying right they have artists to replace Drake in totality. So now they're going to try to play smoking mirrors as far as letting you know just how pivotal they were in your rise to fame. So with that being said, I do want to get into give me a hug. This is why I'm giving it so much time compared to all the other tracks.
Starting point is 00:05:41 I do believe this is one of the better tracks, probably top two on this entire project. So the main thing that makes the top two is him rapping and giving us stuff we can gravitate towards as far as it actually. making sense as far as side seven i mean white tank top coming with the whole kids angle and drake basically responded with small fish making kids feel emotion using you for promotion truer words have never been spoken now he's responding to that so as far as the jbp as far as mr joe budding himself uh mr pumping up has a co-host on his pod title uh and she's called melissa ford if you don't know about her before and uh drake has talked about her before on tracks as far as you know he referenced her as m4 before and he did he never like said her for full name but now he said melissa ford you a legend
Starting point is 00:06:39 from the six hate this hate to see you and i'm just gonna let y'all see this right quick because i can't say this because this a pg podcast you know what i'm saying like i try to keep the pg mantra Melissa ford you a legend from the six hate to see you with the and i ain't gonna lie analytic dreams video on Spotify to see this egregious ending to that to that line that is very uh these are fighting words right here i ain't gonna lie my brother so anyways with that being said give me a hug is phenomenal and is unequivocally top two as far as this particular project just because of the quality we got out of it and the overall replayability and his sentiments towards the overall battle so with that being said now let's get into track number 11 titled
Starting point is 00:07:24 raining in Houston
