Analytic Dreamz: Notorious Mass Effect - "DRAKE, TRAVIS SCOTT, & YOUNG THUG - TRANCE"

Episode Date: January 16, 2023

This is an early version of “Trance”, the collaboration between Travis Scott and Young Thug that appears on Metro Boomin’s HEROES & VILLAINS. The track seems to have been cut from Drake’s... Honestly, Nevermind at the last minute; the file was dated June 9, 2022, and it was apparently being mastered along with the rest of the album; the subject matter also lines up. How it made its way onto Metro’s album without Drake is unclear, though it’s likely that Metro simply wanted it for his own album, but ultimately chose to cut Drake; tweets indicate that Metro felt there was no room for Drake in his vision for the song.As well as vocals from Drake, this version features different mixing, a shorter verse from Thug, a different outro, and also lacks Peter Lee Johnson’s violin.full song: (6) Trance - drake fr travis scott & young thug #leaked #unrealeased | WWMP - YouTubePrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Starting point is 00:00:00 You know, sometimes you just got to take matters into your own hands, you know what I'm saying? And so whenever getting into Drake and his removed feature from this track, I had to do the hip-hop world justice. Because you're not going to take the goat's verse off of any track on my watch. It's not going to happen. because even this verse is just classic in itself. Like, imagine having the goat bless your track with vocals and then you're removing them. Like, Metro obviously didn't want some more. You know what's crazy?
Starting point is 00:01:06 You know what's funny? That's like my favorite saying throughout the whole Christmas holidays. It was like, bro, we put on the feathers for this type of weather because it was definitely that type of weather because it was severely cold. I don't know what came in, but it was like the wind was just being so disrespectful. Anyways, you know, first I'm going to read this off because, you know, you have to be very respectful when it comes to the goat, right? So, let me find this. Ah, here we go, here we go.
Starting point is 00:01:38 We put on the feathers with this type of weather. I don't do this for any other artists, by the way. I mean, except for Rodway. I did that for his album review, you know, shameless plug. beautiful mind rod wave analytic dreams uh review anyways that's besides the point um we put on the feathers
Starting point is 00:01:55 for this type of weather she go to the club to bust up a hold up to bust up a dub okay that's probably money I think I thought it was love that wasn't what it was
Starting point is 00:02:10 don't we all we lit the city she does what she does we should just leave it where it was I'm in my robe while I wait on the rub on the rug rub what is a rub I don't know she posted my crib
Starting point is 00:02:30 so pity she's taking it down let's keep it private because I get around man snap your fingers for the toxicity king uh... Aubrey Graham I ain't a lie that's very disrespectful it's still future but you know
Starting point is 00:02:47 The toxic prince Even that that's Quaybaud at this point I don't care The toxic In itself You know, you just got a snap For the way He's breaking it down
Starting point is 00:03:01 In poetry format You know, it's very much a poetry slam When you read this stuff out loud Alright, let's keep going I mean, I imagine saying to a girl Let's keep it private because I get around Like I don't even think that I get you anywhere in life Like unless you got money like Drake
Starting point is 00:03:17 or just money in general like i don't even think like imagine imagine j z said that to biancy let's keep it private because i get around like like like how girls be talking like boy bye would it be like boy bye and then they just walk off you know i mean that's how they be you know anyways let's keep on let's keep on i'm sorry that's my fault um i'm just going to keep it real with you i had to pick this ex parte of the mud you know it's a peachy podcast i had to clean this up on my ones. I had to bury some people I love. And now my heart's sensitive right to the touch. I love that line right to. I ain't going to lie to you. That one hit my soul. I love the, I love the transparency from artists. And now sometimes you got to be vulnerable to get back to
Starting point is 00:04:06 be in your toxic self. Anyways, they keep going. And now my heart's sensitive, right to the touch. And if you start touching me, girl, then what? If you start touching me. girl then what's up that's my goat man that's my goal but anyways let's listen to it now because obviously obviously y'all don't you understand how much of a lyrical genius this man is unless it's over a beat so let's keep going
Starting point is 00:04:32 like even the way he's delivering this it's just like on that like come on now like it's delivery that counts like that's why when the whole quinn miller thing happened Drake said that you may append something but you still can't deliver like I can.
Starting point is 00:05:12 Like he basically said that on one of his tracks. I forget what he said. I think it was on, uh, uh, more life, I think that's when he said it.
Starting point is 00:05:20 I think so. Anyways, um, how you let a ghost ride to turn into a ghost? Something like that. Basically he's saying like he, I mean, that was for me,
Starting point is 00:05:28 Neil, obviously. But, you know, he said a lot of stuff like that basically saying like, I'm the one, I'm the one delivering these,
Starting point is 00:05:36 uh, these bars. So, uh, y'all need respect me. And right there is just like, come on now. Like, Metro, what you doing? Like, I know people say Metro booming wants some more.
Starting point is 00:06:10 But obviously he didn't with this track because he was just like, it was too much quality and he had to cut some off. Because if you listen to the whole project for Metro booming, all hits, no skips, no misses, no nothing. So I'm like, why would you take Drake off your track? Like, I mean, I wouldn't think Drake would overshadowed Metro booming, would you? Like, I don't, I mean, you have the weekend on there. I mean, who else do you have?
Starting point is 00:06:36 I feel like I'm being disrespectful right now. Hold up. Who else do you have on there? I'm trying to see somebody. Because, I mean, of course he had Future 21 Savage, the usual. Yeah, Travis Scott gave like a whole EP on there. Like, Travis Scott had like three tracks on there. Like, Travis got what he's doing.
Starting point is 00:06:56 A's at Rocky for some reason was on here. Oh, Takeoff had a fire verse. Like, he literally went through like the alphabet. That stuff was crazy. um gonna had an okay track that's why he had
Starting point is 00:07:08 bonus at the end he was like man I don't want to put this on here but hey I guess we I guess we jacking uh yeah I'm a law
Starting point is 00:07:18 by the citizen that's all I'm gonna say uh what else Don Tolliver's on here young nudie young nudie just sneaks his way on every project don't he um who else
Starting point is 00:07:28 yeah so really the weekend Travis Scott probably the biggest names on here I mean future, of course, you know, you don't want to disrespect, you know, but I'm just thinking about like monthly listeners and overall fan base. Yeah, probably future the weekend and Travis Scott. That's what I would say. But anyways, having Drake on here, I don't think it would have overshadowed it overshadowed the project that much. Like obviously his verse on here is insane. You know, it's pretty crazy.
Starting point is 00:07:56 But I think they could have dealt with Drake having his presence on the project without having to take it off. but, you know, teaches on, I guess Metro thought that Drake's verse wasn't it? I don't know. Like, what's the reason to take it off? Like, you're going to put on the deluxe? Like, what are we doing? Like, bro, who takes a, I'm honestly, like, when I heard that, because I heard this a while back. But when I wanted to put this out, I was like, hold up.
Starting point is 00:08:20 I got to review this because it's just like, this is just criminal at this point. Like, bro, what are we doing? Like, that's like having LeBron drop like 30, 10 to 10 and being like, man, you know what? let's only play him 10 minutes this game like why are you holding back greatness like i just don't understand like i don't know man anyway like i really i couldn't think of like maybe maybe you can't clear it maybe drake down with his name associated to young thug i don't man i really don't i can't think of any scenario where you will listen to this verse and be like okay let's take that off anyways uh click my click my click my lecture
Starting point is 00:09:00 in my bio let me know one of my social media is what do you think about the drake uh version of of trance that's what's called it's called trance if you want to listen to the o g track is travis scion young thug it's called trance you know me so um but what do you think about the drake version of trance and uh do you think it's better than their original or how do i ask this do you think there's do you think the o g trance is better or the drake version
