If you're wanting to cover the goat, just know it comes with some consequences and ramifications.
And one of the ramifications that I looked at expeditiously, because of course I'm a Hall of Fame pocket watcher.
I went to Yeats page, had to check if it was on DSPs.
And ladies and gentlemen, of course it was.
But guess what? OVO also was in the credit.
But then, you know what I'm saying?
I was like, damn, look at the state of hip hop.
Like, what's going on?
Not once, but twice.
And I kid you not.
If you go to your local, if you go to your DSP app, whatever you use, you go to Fill No Ways, the Yeet remix.
You go to the bottom of the credits.
Not only is it listed once, but it's listed twice.
They letting you know that Drake is taking any and everything that this track makes on those platforms.
Because, of course, it is his song.
If you don't know, feel no ways is Drake's phenomenal track off of views.
And with that being said, I do believe.
feel no ways and of course with ye and drake having so much successful for all the dogs
because people forget but when drake put out for all the dogs it was a lot of tracks
that was competing for the number one slot whether it was slime you out featuring scissor
whether it was first person shooter featuring j cole and then you had well it's a pg podcast
or pg live stream if you don't know i'm live currently um i dg
GAF by Drake, which, of course, the PG podcast, but you can assume what that means, right?
And that featured Ye.
That was also competing for the number one slot.
And that was interesting because if you think about it, you have a track with Jermaine, right?
First person shooters were it's undeniable classic in hip-hop.
And then you come to IDGAF, which, you know, for the older crowd, they probably don't realize why this is competing.
with a phenomenal track like first-person shooter, which should show you the chemistry between
Drake and Yeat to the point where those two tracks was competing on the charts when the album came
out. So it definitely makes sense as when Drake followed up that collaboration in 2024 with the track
as we speak with Drake and Yeat. And he basically was supporting Yeet heavily to the point where a lot of
people thought Yee was signed to Drake, which I don't think he is signed to Drake. I just think this particular
the track has OVO on it because he's covering Drake's track.
Yee is usually under field trip recordings, which is a subsidiary to UMG, which of course
is the big dogs in the music industry with UMG having 55% of the music market share currently.
So as you can tell, UMG has a huge grip on the music industry.
But with Yeet having a phenomenal relationship with Drake, here he is again.
in 2025 putting out a feel no ways yeat mix which is insane because of course covering Drake in the year of
2025 and using him as a well it's not like a sample but using his beat has been done before but not put
out on DSPs as you as you've probably heard the baby has some mixtape out i believe titled please
say the baby and he's he covered Drake's current
hit that's currently the fifth no it's the fourth most play track in the world been on the
charts for 11 weeks as far as nokea the baby covered that on his mixtape please say the baby
now that is interesting because that track's not out not out on dsps do you believe that uh the
or what ye did to feel no ways was better than what the baby did to um nokea of course not
What the baby did on Nokia was beyond phenomenal, but is that going to see the lot of days on DSVs?
Of course not.
Because Drake is going to take all of that.
And I don't know how the baby's doing it.
But, you know, he may or may not be monetizing off of that remix that he's doing to all of these famous beats on Please State the baby.
You know, it may be a subscription model.
I don't know.
I didn't try to snitch.
You know what I'm just saying?
You know, he may be earning something off of that.
But as you can tell, Yeat with the Fill Noway's remix that was a Yid mix that was a Yid mix,
has made its way to DSPs, of course, with OVO all over the copyright, or not copyright,
all over the credits and royalties and things that nature.
So I think that's very interesting to point out.
Yeats currently not on the charts at all with his tracks or albums, but I do believe whenever
he puts out another album, it should have some staying power on that charts because when he
puts out music, he has a deaf, he has a huge fan base to the point where he's going to make a huge
impact on the masses and the last album he put out title lifestyle that came out October 18th
2024 is very interesting because 20293 came out before that February 16 2024 and I really like
both of those albums I think what he does as far as his mix of unique beats and the way he
flows over as far as his melodies I think is phenomenal so what I think he had one of the better
features from Drake in the year of
24, which is not, you know,
it's not saying a lot because everybody was calling him a PDF.
So, you know, it wasn't really too many people
jumping out of the woodworks to get a Drake feature.
Well, Calid was, but.
But then, you know what I'm saying?
I was like, damn, look at the state of hip hop.
Like, what's going on?
That man Drake told Cali, he must have had a feature from Drake Bell.
Ain't that about it.
Ain't that about it.
That's crazy.
That's very disrespectful.
To the point where Calit put out a whole movie quality
trailer for an album.
And we haven't heard.
her anything since that man drake ruined that man's career so um but that being said yee having this
drake cosign while also being able to put out this drake cover on dsps is a huge monumental step
for yeats career because i think being able to stay so close to drake at this point in time
would help out on the long run because a lot of people turned on them and we don't know if he's
going to double back because young thug put out a tweet saying that the game's not the same what
without all of us working together which he's totally
right if you look at hip-hop right now we are having one of the well it's not worse right because we
still have kendrick staff drake top in the charts but in totality is kendrick is drake and then that's it
that's it even germain i don't know what he's doing like when he's gonna put out his album we don't
know how young thugs the album's gonna perform we don't know if it's gonna have any longevity but a lot
of these newer artists are having initial impact and then just fizzling out right play big cardi uh well he's not a good example
because his album is still the eighth most played album in the world.
But when it went number one, it didn't stand number one.
And when Ken Carson's album came out at number one,
it's now completely off of the charts to the point where there's nowhere to be found in top 50.
Playb with Cardi, to be fair, his album is still the eighth most played album in the world.
So he's had some lasting power.
So the reason why I say that is because a lot of newer hip-hop artists
are not having the chart-topping singles or albums that we used to scene in the genre
of hip-hop so i'm not saying it's a bad year for hip-hop i'm just saying it's one of the worst
years we've seen in a minute so you know doing that what you will so with we ye doing this drake
cover i think it's a great co-sign especially in today's age where drake and kendrick are seemingly
the only two hip-hop artists that well in playwood cardi let me stop disrespect to his fan base
drake kendrick playbri kardi are the only hip-hop artists currently who are competing with the
pop stars as far as country and usually we're uh as far as the culture is what people gravitate
towards so uh it's a very interesting shift going on right now hip hop's not in the greatest state
so that's why i like shouting out these different covers because it's basically the people at the
top helping out the people at the bottom as kendry you know seen it has always pan out as far as
him helping out with Doty on GnX and then Doty coming out a month later to say F. Kendrick.
Like that's just the type of love you get nowadays.
You help somebody get to a certain spot a month or two later.
They may not financially, they may not be in a great situation and they just blame it all
on you.
Like you ain't given the opportunity of a lifetime, right?
So hopefully Kendrick understands Drake at this point as far as helping out somebody
in his career and they're having them completely turn on you and saying F you, right?
Which he came out to apologize, you know, because he was about to do it to him.
You know, if you're an artist in L.A. talking about Kendrick and the negative light, God be with you.
But then, you know what I'm saying?
I was like, damn, look at the state of hip hop.
Like, what's going on?
So, that being said, click my link to my bio.
Let me know on one of my social media.
What do you think about Yee covering Drake's track, feel no ways?
And do you think it's better than the original?
Well, of course not.
So in general, why do you think hip hop does not have new emerging artists
topping the charts like we used to have in the past?
Thank you.
