Starting point is 00:00:05 Now safe to say, Drake is the epitome of what success looks like in hip hop. But then you know what I'm saying? I was like, damn, look at the state of hip hop. Like, what's going on? To the point where I was thinking to myself, wasn't people just calling him a PDF not too long ago. And it's very interesting how this man was number one as far as the most stream rapper on Apple. It's crazy how that happens.
Starting point is 00:00:34 Like as far as people saying that his career would never be. the same you know side seven called them a PDF so now everybody's just going to stop listening to them which you know it didn't happen by the way if you look at the monthly listeners it's really interesting how just on Spotify you know which is just one of the biggest DSPs in the world not too crazy but just on Spotify you look at Drake he has 81.7 million monthly listeners and you look at Kendrick the reason why I'm comparing this is to be petty you know really no other reason I ain't going to lie to you um you look at Kendrick as far as his profile and it's 72. million monthly listeners. So, you know, as far as the year of Kendrick and Drake still being on top,
Starting point is 00:01:12 safe to say that it's really nothing that can affect them at this point. I mean, you know, the PDF, you're hiding the child. I mean, they try. You know, they consistently tried. I mean, Metro formed Voltron to come at Aubrey Ground. And it still didn't work. So anyways, all that Drake glazed out of the way, pause. The main thing I was going to talk about is Drake and Marvel, as the collaboration between all these different apparel have been apparent that this man really wants to make it known that he's really doing all type of triple entendres as far as the Iceman name. But then you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:01:45 I was like, damn, look at the state of hip hop. Like, what's going on? As you look at the apparel's end, there's no Iceman to be found. But of course with Marvel, you already know that Marvel has a character named Iceman, which is technically Bobby Drake, which is crazy, right? And slash Robert Lewis Bobby Drake. So when you look at this in totality, the pieces is what you see on the screen right now. analytic dreams video on spotify to see the video along with the audio but you have venom's
Starting point is 00:02:11 hockey jersey then you have ghost riders flame covered long sleeve you have venom themed themed skateboard you have black jacket featuring ghost rider across the back and then you have black hoodie in a brown tee with wolver warverine graphics and then you have the additional skate decks and accessories in a capsule so basically the main reason why i'm saying this is because with drake gearing up to release his iceman album this is definitely a part of his marketing campaign collabing with the IP that that created one of the most popular iceman titles which is you know the actual superhero from x-men so me is a huge super superhero fan me as someone who consistently says that drake is my favorite rapper in hip-hop safe to say this collab uh to me
Starting point is 00:03:01 i think it's fantastic and of course one of the main things i saw about this collab is the logo So when they put out this picture as far as the OVO logos being Black Panther, and then I think this is the Hulk. I'm not going to lie to you. It's not the greatest, you know, but they tried. So they have the Hulk, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Captain America, which, you know, even the Captain America, it's not that great. But the Wolverine, so my favorite is definitely the Spider-Man one by far. I mean, I say all the time that I think Spider-Man is the greatest fictional creation of all time. Drake's my favorite rapper of all time.
Starting point is 00:03:33 This logo is top tier to me. Then, of course, you have the Iron Man logo. I think that's top two. And then the Black Panther local is also pretty solid. And then when you look at the other things, you have OVO Marvel collab, you have this. And then you have the Bobby Iceman Drake logo right here. So what could be funny is if this ends up being a cover of the album, which I don't think it will. But the Marvel Apparel, I think, is a nice collab, just basically insinuating that Iceman is coming soon.
Starting point is 00:04:04 he just recently popped out because of course he's not doing a lot of features because you know the whole universe was calling him a pedophile so you know he kind of just locked in on himself instead he i think he made tracks with central c and yee i believe so he's back with a track with the one and only abraham aka 21 savage with a track titled mr recoup now mr recoup is a phenomenal name to have featuring drake because you know there's no way in the world after a whole lawsuit battle with your, uh, your, uh, major label, right? Having a whole lawsuit battle with the major label, the person that presses the button on your engagement team to, to your music. After losing a lawsuit, you definitely want to turn back around and put out a track called Mr. Recoup to spite them, right? Basically hinting at the fact that you want the most recoupable artists in the game. Like as far as the ROI investing your dollar and getting more back, Drake is probably one of the best. in the game, which is why he's been on top for so long.
Starting point is 00:05:07 So as far as Mr. Recoup, he literally says in the track, his initial change as far as him being Mr. Recoup. I'm trying to see how he phrased that specifically. Because on the track, Mr. Recoup, which is one of Drake's, I think he doesn't have too many offerings in the later year of 2025. He was really, he was throwing out all type of music at the beginning of 2025. I mean, he had the track with Playboy Cardi, allegedly, as far as no face, and it ended up releasing on DSPs without Playboy Cardi. He had blue, green, red.
Starting point is 00:05:42 I think that's what it's called. He had the track with Lotto. Like, he was just swinging for the fences for these tracks. He was just throwing out all type of tracks. And, of course, the album was part of next door, which ended up having Nokia on it. And then you realize Drake was good for the year because Nokia was definitely a hit, especially with him beefing with the label. Finding a hit while you beefing with a label, I think is actually very, um, It's a crazy accomplishment.
Starting point is 00:06:04 And there's a crazy feat. I don't think people talk about that enough. Anyways, the man basically said, Mr. Recoup, that's my other nickname. Hold, let me pull it up. Just see, I can see. You know what I'm saying? This is like, it's like Mozart type, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:06:18 Let me see, Mr. Recoup. Here you go. So you look at this and it basically says, why in the world? Don't I know how I spell recoup. I need help. Yeah, I guess I didn't spell it right. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:06:36 All right. So Drake said, quote. Mr. Recruit, that's my other nickname. Spade at the party long wheel-based range. Chances are I'll probably never see these provocative women again. Remember, this is a PG podcast. No face beat. That's my hitter.
Starting point is 00:06:57 Drake is your daddy and he couldn't find a sitter. But then, you know what I'm saying? I was like, damn, look at the state of hip-hop. Like, what's going on? So as far as on the Abraham album, safe to say, he was really talking egregious to whoever he could. And I'm not going to say it blew me out of water or it was just like a fantastic verse. It was just one of those to where, you know, he popped out show support for 21 Savage. Because if you remember, during the whole time, everybody was calling him a PDF but still streaming his music on a download.
Starting point is 00:07:24 He was basically saying that 21 Savage was one the only people in this corner when he was dealing with all this stuff, right? He was like, Savage, you're the only one who checked in on me, brother. I think he sat down, like, give me a hug or someone. like that basically he has a lot of love for 21 savage so it only makes sense that he popped down on this album as for 21 savage and his latest album um Drake was nowhere to be found because you know they just finished making a whole collab album so the album after that because you have the collab album with drake which is one of the best collab albums of all time in my opinion uh then you have american dream by 21 savage and then i forget how long ago that was that 2024
Starting point is 00:07:59 I think 21 Savage put that out in 2024. So, let's see. I don't know why it doesn't actually pull up the artist. Okay. So, yeah, American Dream came out January 12th, 2024.
Starting point is 00:08:20 And then you look at what happened to the streets. That came out today, right? So as far as the timeline, you already had a whole collab album with Drake. American Dream came out the year after. Why have Drake on it when you have a whole album with him? But now, as far as what happened to the streets, you're two years removed from the Drake collab album.
Starting point is 00:08:39 It makes sense to have him on it, which I was highly anticipating. And he ended up being on it. So as far as Drake's streak of just being to himself and not collabing with other rappers, I think this is one of the few outings you're going to see him actually give a alleyute to Abraham. Because if you look at what happened to the streets, right? And it is an alley-up. I know a lot of people be like, oh, the stimulus package is over.
Starting point is 00:09:04 Drake doesn't have the same effect. Look at one of the hottest rappers in the game, objectively speaking, of course. And, you know, genius is not the best metric on engagement. But, you know, it's definitely a pretty good metric to look at in general. And you look at this, right? If this is not a stimulus package, I don't know what it is. Now, we're just looking at genius. I know some people don't look at this as like a good engagement factor,
Starting point is 00:09:29 this is one of the factors of gauging engagement and consumption. So Mr. Recoup has 40,000 people looking at this specific track right now. And safe to say, no other track even comes close to those numbers. So when people talk about the Drake stimulus package is over, I think inherently, they're just not looking at the numbers or engagement. Because I always say, because, you know, Drake's my favorite rapper. So I have to reiterate this. Just because you sell a lot does not mean you make the highest quality, right?
Starting point is 00:09:57 And just because you don't sell a lot does not mean you make it the most of abysmal, the most egregious, the most... Shepherd. All right. Y'all get the point, right? If quality was equivalent to quantity, I think a JID or Waleigh would probably be one of the top-selling albums of the year, you know, the albums that they put out this year. But is it? Of course not.
Starting point is 00:10:21 So that's why I would say that quality is not equal to quantity. With Drake, in my opinion, I think he's the epitome of having high quality. and high quantity but you know of course artist's objective so um the main reason why i say that is because the drake stimulus package is still alive and well and you can see it on genius you are be able to see it on the charts where you know you'd be able to look at oh mr recoup is the high charting track from 21 savage album why should that be the case so the drake stimulus package is still alive and well but the main reason we was even talking about drake is to talk about the marvel collab because i wasn't going to talk about this but i'm on live stream if you don't know so
Starting point is 00:10:57 I wanted to talk about this for a little bit because I'm a huge superhero fan Drake's my favorite rapper of all time so I wouldn't feel right not even touching on this subject. Pause. You guys. See, that's the problem. And then I think that's basically it. So as far as
Starting point is 00:11:13 the OVO collapse throughout the year of 2025, they had a Disney Valentine's Day collection pink seasonal pieces. So, you know, if that's up your alley, you know what I'm saying? NCWLAQ LSU, Georgetown, Duke produced hoodies and varsity jackets and sweats.
Starting point is 00:11:28 So I guess they've been, you know, they've been pretty busy. Chelsea, is that you say it? I'm not a football. I'm not a soccer fan. Chelsea FC collaboration back on July 2025 when they had a, I think a hoodie, model by Central C, that's what so. Annual NFL and MLB capsules. Basically, OVO's always working.
Starting point is 00:11:46 I think that's his own, I think that's his own department. Like, they do the own thing. So shout out to OVO. Shout out to Marvel. I can't wait for the Iceman album. I think we already know. You know, I'm highly anticipating that album. to be one of the best albums of the year.
Starting point is 00:11:59 You know what I mean? That's just me. So, yeah, it's basically it, man. Drake, OVO, Marvel Collaboration, just dropped today. And it's safe to say, as you can see right here, they have a lot of apparel to choose from. So that being said, click my link to you in my bio. Let me know in one of my social medias.
Starting point is 00:12:13 As far as the Drake and Marvel collaboration, what piece stands out to you the most? And obviously, do you think that Drake's impact on hip hop is still the same after his battle with Kendrick? Thank you.
