Starting point is 00:00:00 Now, I don't think I've ever covered the most popular sport in the world when it comes to the video game attached to it. So this is beyond due because with an estimated 3.5 billion fans globally, it is unequivocally the most popular sport in the world with cricket coming second. I know for the United States people listening, y'all probably are what? y'all probably like what is not the national football league which we stole the title in the first place but we don't care it's not that no it is not as globally soccer is the most important uh not important is the most popular sport cricket is the second most popular sport and then hockey is the third most popular sport but in the united states soccer is is the fourth most popular sport.
Starting point is 00:01:05 Don't you just love how cultures are just so different as far as what we consume on an everyday basis? But anyways, in the United States, of course you can already tell what is the number one sport, right? I mean, we copied their name for a reason. American football is the number one sport. Basketball is the number two sport with baseball coming in and number three. Now, I've always wondered, why in the world
Starting point is 00:01:26 is these games so popular year in and year out? And then I realized that my brothers and sisters and society have been bound by the shackles of 2K for so long that I'm mad that that he was that was even a question that formed in my head because EA Sports FC25 probably scratches the same itch for soccer players in real life soccer players that he that that NBA 2K does for in real life basketball players because I know me personally when I play NBA 2K. it's all type of things that I do in the video game sense that is just as enjoyable as me doing it in real life. Now, for some of y'all, y'all can't say that because y'all just trashed. You know what I'm saying? I mean, goodness. No, I'll just play it. My fault.
Starting point is 00:02:19 But yeah, mostly, I'll just trash hoopers, for real. So with that being said, some of the things that you can do in EA Sports FC is reminiscing on the things that you've done in real life when it comes to soccer. But just like I said, for the trash hoopers, they're probably. what what's the I don't even know what the term is trash footballers like I don't even know how you how do you quantify a soccer player I don't know anyways
Starting point is 00:02:47 getting into EA Sports FC we're going to get into some sales of course and in a review roundup because ultimately when you look at 19,000 licensed players from over 700 teams across both men's and women's league
Starting point is 00:03:02 you realize and come to realize that EA Sports FC 25 boasts the largest licensing we've ever seen in the franchise so that being said so many people to choose from as far as a video game format and then you come to the point where they're topping the UK charts despite the decline in EA Sports FC24 as far as when that released it had a 4.6 decline but um actually that's incorrect EA Sports FC25 top the UK charts in September 2024 despite a 4.6 decline compared to EA Sports FC24. And then the game led UK sales for September with PS5 accounting for 61% of the sales
Starting point is 00:03:53 and Xbox 17% and PS4 13% and Nintendo Switch 9%. Now why am I bringing it up? Because ladies and gentlemen, if you go to the market share right now as far as the best selling games in the world for PlayStation specific, it's the fourth most play game on that platform you go to xbox and it is the number one most play game on that platform now why is that apparent to point out because with it with this being a sports game you're also competing with every other game on the market so to be the best selling on xbox the fourth best seller on playstation and then i got a count right quick one two three four five six seven eight goodness so rounding out the top ten it makes the tenth
Starting point is 00:04:45 spot for steam so in you know sports games i'm not going to say all sports games but for what i've seen it seems like sports games is most consumed on the console level so anyways uh the reason why i bring that up is because obviously is doing tremendous as every sports game usually does with their specific fan base And some of the realism, as far as the graphics, the gameplay mechanics, the attention to detail is why people who play soccer in real life is really gravitating towards the game and captivated by the ultimate realism that the game portrays. Because, of course, it's portraying the most popular sport globally. Like on planet Earth, if you took up all the humans and asked them what they think is the, or no, what sport do they enjoy the most? soccer would be number one. So with that being said, another thing that encapsulates the video game players of the soccer variety, ultimate team mode, which I can definitely resonate with,
Starting point is 00:05:47 this mode allows players to build their dream team by collecting and trading player cards, which has become a huge part of the game's appeal. Now, the reason why this is a big thing is because when me playing NBA 2K, I always wait for it to go on sale. And then I play my GM mode and I put all the people from my hometown on one team because, yes, I grew up playing against professional players, and I play with them in the game. So that is why I enjoy team mode games because you have unlimited, customizable options when it comes to creating your league. If I want Kyrie and Wambayama on the same team, well, guess what? I'm going to make that happen, which I actually did.
Starting point is 00:06:27 I traded Luca, which, you know, people probably mad at it. But, you know, it's whatever. It's my game, right? Anyways, back to soccer, my fault. So when it comes to soccer, this game has integrated the women's soccer into the career mode. So now women's soccer is now fully integrated into the career mode. And then there's more detail when it comes to player, career, and manager career. And I saw this pop up analytic dreams video on Spotify to see the video along with the audio.
Starting point is 00:06:56 But basically, rush job that just popped up right here is basically a, a new game mode right and it's a 5 v5 5 v5 fast-paced mode similar to FIFA street that in itself should be copied by every other sports game i don't know why NBA i mean technically they have the black top but come on now it i mean i guess it'd be too much to ask for a whole new mechanic when it comes to a different game mode. But if NFL, specifically Madden, found a way to put NFL Street as a version, like maybe it has to be cut down a little bit
Starting point is 00:07:46 because of all the resources and assets you use for the original gameplay loop. But NFL Street, if there's any way for them to incorporate that into Madden, that would be phenomenal. But anyways, as far as, as FIFA is considered. What's I saying?
Starting point is 00:08:06 Oh yeah, as far as FIFA is considered, the Rush 5V5 mode has multiple areas such as they added multiple areas such as Ultimate Team Seasons and Kickoff and the gameplay emphasizes smaller teams and more intimate player interactions offering a new
Starting point is 00:08:28 and exciting challenge. So that's one of the big things as far as adding to the EA Sports FC-25 is a rush game mode and then you have the AI overhaul where EA Sports FC I keep saying the game title like I ain't like I haven't said it 20 million times but y'all know what the game I'm talking about so FC25 features an updated AI model which utilizes real world data to influence team roles and emphasizes no it enhances more realistic off-to-ball movement and overall team coordination for AI control players now the only thing I got out of that is
Starting point is 00:09:04 that AI is being used on a higher level. And finally, because goodness, if these developers have any more excuses when it comes to putting a video game together and why it's not optimized, now they have AI to help them out. So anyways, like I said, career mode has been revamped a little bit as far as integrating the women's soccer into it. And then you have real world teams and pivotal matches of the 2024-25 season.
Starting point is 00:09:34 that is accessible through live start points and snapshots making in-game experiences even closer to real-life soccer events. That's pretty cool. Some of the other things to know as far as EA is the new levels of player personalization for in-game avatars, and then you have the clubhouse interaction as far as off-pitch skill boosts through facilities. I don't know what that means, but people who play the game probably already know. know what I'm talking about.
Starting point is 00:10:06 And of course, micro transactions. Boy, you knew what EA, we was going to get to that. So digital coin markets remain active for Ultimate Team, which has prices fluctuating based on demand, indicating strong player engagement. Now, as far as some of the reviews, I did have the review roundup, I believe. Let me see if I can find that.
Starting point is 00:10:33 I actually don't remember where I put it. Is it this one? Oh, it's not that one. Okay. Yeah, I don't know what I put it. But anyways, I do have it right here as well. IGN gave the game a 8 out of 10. GameSpot gave it a 7 out of 10.
Starting point is 00:10:54 Games radar gave it a 4 out of 10. And, you know, in totality, just to generally sum it up, they said that the refined gameplay and the new tactics system is a improvement upon the base or the previous iteration. the previous iterations, but the game feels more interative than revolutionary. Interative, what is that word? Hold up.
Starting point is 00:11:28 You feel like that it right now. Interative definition. Okay, involving repetition such as... Bro, it's a sports game. Of course it's gonna be repetition. Yeah. So anyways, it seems like it's just a great game, honestly. For what I've seen, from what I've heard, it's a great game.
Starting point is 00:11:48 As you can tell about the reviews, they've reviewed it well with, you know, 8 out of 10, 7 out of 10s, 4 out of 5. 77, I'm Metacritic. A lot of people are enjoying the new game, and they are basically enjoying the rush mode, while also just the overall realism of playing a sport in a video game that you're also playing in real life. And for people who don't play in real life,
Starting point is 00:12:13 I mean, you could probably enjoy it as well. But I know as playing like NBA 2K, it's just a certain extra enjoyment factor of playing a game that you've played in real life and got the same amount of enjoyment out of both. So with that being said, click my link, sure of my bio, and let me know one of my social media is.
Starting point is 00:12:29 What do you think about EA Sports FC25? And will you be picking it up and giving this game a try?
