Starting point is 00:00:00 So this is the very beginning of autumn variations produced by Aaron Desner. Hopefully I'm pronouncing that right. But I want to touch on this track simply for the fact that I do believe that Edsharing is going to get into a lot of introspective content throughout this project. And I'm not just saying that through the research I've seen. Apparently, he was inspired by, of course, the changing of the seasons. hence the name and various life changes experienced by sharing his friends during the previous autumn so that's why this whole album is titled autumn variations of course as far as the composer edgar or edward elgur enigma variations album he was introduced to the composer edgar i keep messing up this
Starting point is 00:01:04 man's name. Basically, he was introduced to the composer, Edward Elgar Enigma, by his father and brother, speaking of Ed Sherrne. And that served as an inspiration for this album. Also, this follows his previous album, Subtrak, which reached number two on the Billboard 200 charts. You know, I'm all about them analytics, you know, hence the name. So I do feel like this album is very much a passion project that may not sell as much as subtract, but that is okay because this album came out earlier this year and technically this is his first project ever under his own major label.
Starting point is 00:01:46 Whenever artists do that, I'm very, very interested to see what the numbers look like. Taylor Swift did something I did not think she was going to do. She bought her royalties back, or I don't even know if it was royalties. Basically, she bought her rights back from Scudorbron or his management or whatever. And now she's putting out Taylor versions and her whole fan base is literally acting like
Starting point is 00:02:09 she's putting out new music when it comes to support. Meaning when she puts out these old songs, but just recorded because now she owns it. So now she made her version to get 100% of the publishing and royalties from. Her fans are supporting it like it's brand new. You know? With Ed Sharon,
Starting point is 00:02:32 I would be interested to see how his fan base reacts to this. And with his signature style all over the album, with his themes of love, friendship, heartbreak, depression, loneliness, a lot of people are going to gravitate towards this album. But will it have the same mass appeal because he doesn't have that Warner music engine behind him anymore? So I'd be interested to see how it works out for him. I think the biggest testament to fan bases is when an artist can go independent and still thrive in the music industry. Because if you don't know, this game is filled with smoking mirrors and the major labels are the biggest magicians.
Starting point is 00:03:16 So at the end of the day, I'm interested to see what the numbers look like. But more importantly, to me, as an Ed Sherrin fan, I do call myself an Ed Sherin fan. Speaking of being an Ed Sherin fan, one day we got to talk about Shape of you, being maybe one of the greatest songs of all time. Anyways, we're going to get back to that. That was a little side tangent. Getting back on subject. I can't wait to listen to this album because the emotional depth that Ed Shearn has
Starting point is 00:03:51 is something I love to hear about because I like when artists give you a insight into their life through the music because I feel like that's what it's for. It's a vessel to get your feelings off. It's like an emotional. diary for your fans to hear. So anyways, hopefully that ends up being the case with autumn variations by Ed Shearing. So click my links to my bio. Let me know one of my social medias. Have you listened to this particular track titled Magic? And if you have, do you think is fire or trash?
