I want to start off by saying if you're not following analytic dreams video podcast on Spotify,
then you're definitely missing out and especially for this segment as I have a lot to get off my
chest. And one of the things is representation and the lack of it. And when we do get representation,
it's interesting the selections they make whenever giving certain awards, right? I think there's
optics to everything and the way that the VMA is just blatantly disregarded the optics for the first ever
and I kid you not the first ever best Afrobeats award but before I get into that because of course
I'm gonna get into that but more importantly Feed who is collaborated with Afrobeast artist
Rema on a new single titled
Bubaloo. I think that's how you say. I swear I'm not trying to be funny.
It's now out on all platforms.
It's part of feeds up in his F-E-I-D
if you wanted to know the artist's actual name. Also, I have his Instagram up on
the screen. But basically, as for his upcoming album, More,
no let Tamas, Al-A-Lah. I don't know.
I say that, bro. Oscar Redad.
Hey, I ain't going to cap to you. I don't speak that language, but I try my best.
Anyways, this single is for his upcoming album.
Now, let's get into the more hilarious fact, right?
The first ever Best Afrobees Award at the 2023 MTV VMAs,
which is the Video Music Awards, went to, and I kid you not,
went to Selena Gomez.
Now, y'all have to, y'all got look up for yourself
what ethnicity is Selena Gomez.
Because at the end of the day, like, this is not something of a derogatory sentiment towards
Selena Gomez.
But it's like if the BET Awards had the first ever Caucasian award for the best Caucasian
rapper in America, right?
And it went to logic.
It doesn't make sense to have the first ever Afrobees Award go to an artist.
that's not an Afrobee artist
I don't care if it is
Rema's track
The optics of it is horrendous
The first ever
Afrobe's best award
Goes to Selena Gomez
Like come on bro
Like if you don't believe me
I swear I'm not making this up
Here it is
For you to see yourself
Them accept the award
For
The best Afrobees
First of all, I want to give big thanks to God.
I want to give big thanks to my fans.
Make some noise.
I want to give big nights to my team.
Big shout out to Selena.
I want to say I love you from the bottom of my heart.
You know how uncomfortable Selena Gomez has to be accepting this award?
Like, it looks like she doesn't want to be part of the speech, right?
Because Selena Gomez is probably thinking the same thing to everybody at home,
me included, and you.
are probably thinking the first ever afrobees award and it goes to selina gomez obviously once again
i don't want to have to keep reiterating that rema is a part of the track but from an optic standpoint
it's just downright horrendous so that's besides the point that's all i wanted to get into so
for the the more important fact is feed has a new service
single out titled boobaloo with rema and it marks the first collaboration with rema and feed basically
gained garnered popular no garnered a fan base through his remix of calm down featuring selina gomez so that's rima
that's rema's remix of calm down featuring selina gomez is the one that won the best afrobees award you know it's
Don't get me started that
But basically boobaloo
Which hopefully I'm saying it right
I'm probably not bubble lu
It's probably bubble lu
I don't care bro
Hey boobaloo
Bubbalu you know
Sometimes people got to do both
But anyways
Feed
Is obviously
going to put that album
That's set to be released
September 29th
So if you want to listen to Fees album
That's when it's going to be released
September 29th
this is basically just the single for it and includes his previous singles and hits like nina bonita
featuring sean paul uh fern foxo 151 with icon vinti con amigo and the album features collaborations
with ryan castro ningo flow and a lot of other uh rising uh chilean is i say it
Hopefully I'm saying it right on September 28th feed will appear on Amazon music live
hosted by rapper two chains where he is expected to perform recent hits and new music from the album
which is something that Amazon is trying to do more of is have artists perform the new music live on their platform
which I don't see that happening because why would an artist who doesn't need it
doesn't need a promotion.
Why would they go on your platform,
which is inherently promoting Amazon
while also trying to promote the home music?
I don't think that works out
because I remember the weekend did that for Don FM, I believe.
He had a whole live stream, but that's the weekend.
Now every artist can afford to take attention away from the album
just for the fact that they're performing, right?
They just want people to stream the album.
If 20,000 people tune into a live stream to listen to an album,
guess what? That doesn't count as 20,000 streams on DSPs. So I think people would rather
them go listen to the album and then in the future when they announce a tour, then you can come
hear them perform it. But I don't really think that's a good model for artists to promote their
album as it released because now you're competing with yourself. 20,000 people are listening to
you basically sing the album in a live stream rather than go on a DSP where you get more revenue
from as far as the long term. So yeah, I don't think that's the biggest look for an artist.
But that's it. That's all I really have to say because, hey, at the end of the day, man,
you know, as black people in society, you know, we're just out here doing it, right? You know,
like the first time they want to recognize our Afrobees type artist, you know, it goes to
Selena Gomez. And it just reminds me of that key and P, a key and peel, I believe, skit, where they
made fun of just representation and the lack of just just the lack of you know the word they're just
not cognizant of the optics and that's the best way i can put it for lack of a better term so anyways
click my link to you in my bio let me know one of my social medias what do you think about this
new track titled bubbalo with feed and and uh rema that's out now on all dsps and what do you
think about the first afrobees award artist uh award uh award
from the VMAs going to an artist that's not of Afrobees.
