Starting point is 00:00:00 Now speaking of being independent and putting out a single three years ago and it's still being impactful to this day. As April 20th, 2022 is when 420 music put out the single Mangoo or Mangoo either or. I believe the pronunciation is not purposely being butchered by me. So at the end of the day, I gave you both pronunciations. Hopefully one of them is correct. So that being said, of course, they are independent, but also they have, objectively speaking, the most popular track in Indonesia. And not only that, but they currently have the fifth most popular music video on YouTube globally with this specific track that technically came out April 20th, 2022 as far as DSPs being. considered now of course when it comes to the music video that came after the fact but going from
Starting point is 00:01:09 2022 to 2025 safe to say there's a lot of opportunity and time for that track to fall off and it surprisingly because usually people are here one day and gone the the next right but three years after people are still listening to this indonesia alt folk band as far as 420 so if you don't know this band formed in 2017 known for a lot of their acoustic sound blending a lot of folk pop and jazz their breakout hit was even before mangou it was zana nyaman i think i think i definitely butcher that one that one came out 2017 let me see if i could pull that one up because the discography is not huge they've been putting out music since 2015 but as far as the let me see if i could type this in i'm literally trying to look at the words this is crazy um
Starting point is 00:02:15 no that's not it nope that's not it i don't know if this track is out on dsps but anyways they are independent so usually when you are independent sometimes sometimes all of the popular hit isn't on oh here it is it is right here okay so zona niaman zona niaman hopefully i'm saying it right i ain't a lot to you so with that being said um there was that track that blew them up as far as initially 2017 and that was also accompanied by a feature and what it was able to feature in was philosophy copy two with ben and jodi and of course as far as that specific film The themes were love, life, personal struggles, and abroad Indonesia plus regional appeal. So as far as having a popular track all the way back in 2017 and also having it featured in the Philosophy copy, a copy, too, as far as Ben and Jody film, that could be very scary territory as far as following that up with another hit.
Starting point is 00:03:31 But here in 2025, not only did they find that hit, but they hit that they found was released in 2022, which is insane. So as far as the marketing strategies behind this track and how it just continued to encapsivate the masses, essentially when it came to social media, once again, TikTok has reared its consistent head as far as the most authentic tool for musicians as far as promoting your music. So with that being said, I do feel like the boosted longevity plus the additional streams is definitely not totally. TikTok's doing, but TikTok had a major hand and the longevity of this Mongoo track. So with them already having a hit attached to a film in 2017, following that up with another ginormous hit as far as in 2022, definitely objectively speaking, their biggest hit ever in their career. And nearly three years after post release, you come to, well, technically, is it almost three years when they come out again? Let me see.
Starting point is 00:04:40 Mongo came out. Yeah, it's over three years because it came out April 20th, 2022. So essentially, after three years, it's still spiking in engagement. And that's also showcasing the regional dominance as it's held. a strong hold over the number one position as far as Indonesia is being specifically right and the the way is resonating culturally with Indonesia is undeniable at this point as this is probably one of their biggest tracks ever put out from that region just plain and simple as far as one of the most organically popular tracks because they're not under any major labels from other country
Starting point is 00:05:31 Well, they're not under any major labels as far as a Warner, Sony, a universal is being considered. They are essentially all by themselves promoting this music. So with that being said, the main thing I wanted to get at was just them being very present on the Indonesia charts, having the number one track in the world. But interestingly enough, now globally, people are starting to get more into this track as the video that came out November 11th, 2020. 22 is currently the fifth most played music video in the world. So that's very insane as far as the longevity statistic. And of course over here at the notorious mass effect, we get into everything, music and gaming that affects the masses, pun intended.
Starting point is 00:06:17 So with that being said, click my link tree in my bio. Let me know one of my social medias. What do you think about 420 coming out as far as far as the alt folk pop band and crossing over globally with their track? Mangoo.
