Starting point is 00:00:00 French Montana definitely knows how to keep his name in the rotation because for some reason he put out a solo track and it's titled Good Summer. Somebody got to let this man know that summer is basically over and him putting out a track titled Good Summer. Maybe it's just a recollection of all the memories he had throughout the summer or what I'm thinking it is is a last attempt to get some type of. of summer hit because it's very much a dance type of track as there's a sample a very popular sample from if i can find it 2003 from wayne wonders hit no letting go and it's a reggae track produced by martin the original track that he sampled this track off of it's uh so the original sample is Wayne Wonders No Letting Go that came out in 2003. And it basically went on to be nominated for a Grammy for Best Dance recording in 2004
Starting point is 00:01:09 and had a lot of covers from famous artists such as LL Cool J and Duchess. And in general, with this track being sampled by French Montana, it kind of makes you want to go back to 2003. realize that this track is actually good because i do not think by any stretch of the imagination french montana did this sample any type of justice because i believe it's meant to be a dance track but at the end of the day if it's not even serviceable then the people who are listening who find out the original sample or the original track that you sampled they're just going to go back to that track and listen to it so i don't really understand the whole using a popular like a very popular uh
Starting point is 00:01:55 sample and delivering something that's not even mediocre. I would say this track is not good. The chorus is maybe serviceable, but the lyrics are basically non-existent. There are some woman throughout the track who is basically the highlight of it, but the bad part about that is she's saying like two to three words. She's basically like shout over the beat and getting you hyped up. But I believe that as a in totality, this track is not good at all. And even creating this track, I mean, Fresh Montana was talking about, quote, it was magic watching bounce music, Island classic and New York gritty rap come together for
Starting point is 00:02:46 a summer banger. So he's talking about other music impacting the summer type of culture. And he tried to replicate that himself. by using one of the most popular dance tracks ever created in the past what basically 20 years well 23 years and now you're looking at one no it's definitely 20 years i can't count but basically you get what i'm saying like it's been released decades ago and now he's trying to sample it again and he completely missed the mark i think this track is it's not atrocious but it's not good at all you might as well just go back and listen to the original track by Wayne Wonder title no letting go.
Starting point is 00:03:32 So click on my tree in my bio. Let me know one of my social media is. What do you think about French Montana putting out this track titled Good Summer? And do you think is a good track or do you agree with me that this track is not even mediocre? It's basically not good.
