Getting into the K-pop field once again, we are talking about G. Dragon, whose real name is Quan G. Young, as this is more of a hiatus or a comeback from a seven-year hiatus as his new album, or not album, his new latest release power is ending, of course, his seven-year hiatus and is basically marking his departure from YG Entertainment as he's now,
with empire so this release power is under galaxy corporation slash empire so obviously with a new
major label he's probably having a lot of new marketing strategies when it comes to his new music and
not only that but one of the reasons i wanted to talk about g dragon is for the simple fact that
the billboard global 200 predictions as far as november 16th is considered this particular track
power is going to be the 27th most play track in the world with 114,000 units sold so of course
that's a significant accomplishment but not only that he had over 600,000 downloads on
QQ music which is in China and that was within nine days breaking the record for a
K-pop musician so as far as this top this chart topping track as far as the
music in a K-pop field of course I'll cover
artists like Black Pink, New Jeans,
BTS,
a lot of specific
BTS members like Junk,
Jay Hope, and
when it comes
to this particular artist, this is my first time speaking
on him, but obviously
what I said previously with him coming
back from a seven-year hiatus, it's going
to be probably more
often I speak about him for the simple fact
that now that he's under new
management and having newfound
success coming back from
a seven-year hiatus, safe to say that he has other music and the tuck along with this power
track that's already out on all DSPs.
So as far as the Korean real-time charts, as far as Melangini, Bugs, Vibe is considered,
those are all charts in the K-Pah Korean region.
He's number six on the iTunes World Charts, and he's number 13 on the iTunes European charts,
and he debuted at number 23 on the UK official singles sales and downloads chart.
So one of the key points I always get at when I'm talking about K-pop musicians is the very intentional effort into choreography.
I don't know as far as YG, as far as Empire, what makes them put so much emphasis on their artist being able to have phenomenal choreography.
I mean, to the point, I say this all the time, that Jenny from Black Pink, I think it was from Black Pink.
Yeah, Jenny from Blackpink, single-handedly won the HBO TV show, The Idol, an Emmy for Best Chorography.
And if you really look at why they won Best Chorography, everybody was pointing towards the scene where Jenny was going through choreography as far as showcasing one of the main stars of the TV show, how to conduct a music video.
So basically, in a TV show, she was showcasing how to do.
go through the choreography because of course the main character was messing up so she came in to show her
and ultimately that ended up winning that HBO TV show a Grammy with not Grammy at Emmy which if you
really watch the TV show I mean it's not too much to brag about as far as quality level when it comes
to the plot so when it comes to choreography it's very apparent that Jenny helped out a lot and even
know i had consistent high quality choreography jenny was definitely a standout in that uh in the midst of
that tv show and also on the soundtrack but hey we're talking about g uh we're talking about g dragon so
of course all those numbers i read off that's something i wanted to get into as far as just my
sentiments on how much i appreciate k-pop musicians putting heavy emphasis on choreography
because that takes money behind the scenes to get a team to practice for weeks upon weeks and then
You get onto the actual stage in front of your fans, and then they see all the hard work and effort you put into practicing that said choreography.
So with that being said, of course, G Dragon is definitely going to be more of a pivotal player in the K-pop community because he's more of an up-and-coming artist, even though he has been putting out music since, I'm not going to say 2012, but 2008, when he put out a track, Only Look at Me Part 2.
So obviously he's been in the game for quite a while.
So this is definitely a pivotal moment for him.
And hopefully a significant shift in his overall trajectory as far as global fan engagement
as he's definitely running up the numbers with this specific track power that's out now in all DSPs.
So that being said, click my link tree in my bio.
Let me know one of my social medias.
What do you think about G Dragon's latest track power?
And overall, when it comes to the K-pop influence on the music.
industry what do you think makes them stand out the most
