Analytic Dreamz: Notorious Mass Effect - "GLORILLA - TGIF"

Starting point is 00:00:03 Now I promise you Damien Lila can't wait to get up shots and warm up to this song as Glorilla is back again with a new track titled TGIF. Now what does that mean? You have to figure it out for yourself. So June 24th, this track came out and also, no, June 24th, the music video for this track came out. Because what I wanted to speak about is the success of Glover's. for this entire year because last year it was looking kind of spooky and I think I was the only one really advocating for Glorilla in the midst of everybody thinking that she got replaced by Sexy Red. Because to be fair, the labels didn't do a great job at promoting Glorilla because in the height of Sexy Red's career, she was put on the what's the YG label called?

Starting point is 00:01:07 CMG, yeah, sexy red had a track off of CMG's like group project or whatever and for the life of me. I cannot understand why an artist who's not under CMG would get a premier spot and a CMG group label album when Glorilla is completely being replaced by her and the fans are saying that instead of supporting or not supporting. But instead of sexy red's rise to fame, people focus on Glorilla falling off. So I thought it was a direct competition with Sexy Red and Glorilla. But for some reason, CMG was promoting sexy red like it was their artist. So I love how GloRilla came back and showed the world that she can still make high quality music and, in fact, that she's indeed not falling off. Because of course, I think her and Glowrilla, her and Sexy Red don't have any type of beef, but it's probably a music industry slash fans driven agenda to try to get them to beef.

Starting point is 00:02:10 So that's why I point that out. And the reason I say Glorilla is having a phenomenal year is simply for the fact that want to be with Magdalene Stalien, one of the greatest hip-hop tracks in 2024 when analytics is being considered because it's the 25th most played song in the world. It's been on the charts for about 11 weeks, and it peaked in number 20. So I think about being on the charts for 11 weeks and only going from 20 to 25. Like that is tremendous hold as far as one of the more popular tracks from hip hop in 2024. Then we have Yeah, Glow, which is my personal favorite track from Glorilla this year,

Starting point is 00:02:52 as that's been on the charts for about 19 weeks, peaked at number 20. and now it's the 32nd most play song in the world. Now, when we look at projections, which is something I like to do because of my analytics, I like to get into the bigger aspect of Glorilla and what does this mean? Because you look at Glorilla's album and currently is doing 17,000 copies every single week. Well, not every single week. But as far as this week, it's the 48th most play album in the world. last week it was the 30th,

Starting point is 00:03:27 the most played album in the world. So it's apparent that Gloverilla is still getting play from the masses. But the biggest thing is her singles are selling well. Just because you put out an album and the flops doesn't mean you can't put out a single

Starting point is 00:03:45 and it captivates the masses. You know? Because just because an album does well doesn't mean your single would do, well and just because your single does well doesn't mean your album would do well it's not correlated like it used to be in the past times of releasing bodies of work so with that being said um glovela is doing fantastic her music video for tg i f is not is out now for all intensive purposes

Starting point is 00:04:18 and it just completely continues her carefree attitude similar to fnf that she uh put out i forget when she put that I think it was like a year or two ago but this the song is beyond popular yeah glow is a bona fide hit and I wouldn't be surprised if glowrilla gets like some type of comeback of the year award or things or things like that because you would have thought glowrilla just stopped putting out music because when she signed to UMG back in 2022 people thought it was like a one year uh like a one year fluke because of how she was public perception-wise how she was performing in 2023. But obviously in 2024, she's shown that she can continue to put out hits. And she can continue to rap like she's been rapping because a lot of people make fun of her voice.

Starting point is 00:05:15 But when that track with Megyn the Stallion and One of Be come on, they love the different vocal inflections of those two on the chorus. So with that being said, I think that's one of the biggest things, that Glorilla is indeed one of the more impactful artists when it comes to the charts in 2024. And I'm not going to say I told you all so, but I've been saying that Glorilla is not done. And everybody who's championed sexy red trying to say that Glorilla fell off, both of them can be successful.
